Yuffie's birthday. Yuffie's birthday. What the crap am I gonna get for Yuffie's birthday?
Well, I can't buy her anything. I am broke, and no good at the jobs around here.
I can't make her anything, because the garbage can has better creative skills than I do. I checked.
Only one solution, then. Raid my house, and see if I can find anything to give her.
I dug through the hellhole that was my room. Nothing but underwear all over the floor, which I really need to wash…
The living room was actually spotless. Nothing a seventeen year old ninja would like.
The bathroom? Don't even go there.
So, I left my house and hit the Usual Spot. Darts? No, those were Hayner's, he'd kill me if I tried to give it to Yuffie. Melted popsicles? Hey… So that's where Pence would keep them! Too bad they melted… Half-eaten box of pocky? Sounds good.
I went back home to wrap the half-eaten box of Pocky. Heh, Olette will never know that I stole it… Yeah she will, won't she?
So, that night I left for the Radiant Garden to give Yuffie her pocky.
I arrived the next morning, due to the sudden inability to drive a gummi ship. Then I got lost, and ended up going to the Coliseum, and having to turn around.
I set the gift down on the front step of Merlin's house and turned to leave when Yuffie opened the door to get the paper for Merlin.
She stopped when she saw me, then squealed, "ROXAS! Everyone, Roxas is here!" she called into the house. She ran up to me and hugged me, almost knocking me over.
"Hey… Yuffie, maybe you should let Roxas go," Leon said. "Besides, I'm sure he has gift for you."
"Here it is," Tifa said, and picked it up off the step. She handed it to Yuffie.
Yuffie sat down to rip it up while everyone went back inside. "A… half-eaten box of pocky… Roxas, did you raid the Usual Spot to find me a gift?" she said.
I blushed, then sat down next to her. I nodded sheepishly. "Yeah… I'm broke, and you know the garbage can has better creative skills than I do!"
She smiled. "Yeah, how is Bob?"
I laughed. "So… You aren't mad that I gave you half-eaten pocky?"
"Nah… I love pocky!" She said, and stuck one in her mouth. After she had finished it, she said, "In fact, this was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me." She scooted closer to me. "Ever." I felt her lips brush against my cheek, and I started to blush.
"I-- uh, it was no big--," But I was interrupted by Yuffie. Her lips had met mine, and I blushed again.
"Thanks, Roxas. I owe you." She stood up and skipped back to Merlin's. "Come on! You are just in time for my party!"
I paused. "Coming…" I stood up and joined her.
