A/N: Mulder's thoughts on Krycek. Post- Apocrypha

It was dark outside the commercial airplane as Fox Mulder contemplated what had happened in the past few hours. Louis Cardinal, Melissa's killer, had been caught. He had led Scully to a nuclear missile silo in North Dakota. He was so sure that he would find the UFO the Piper Maru had found.

So why did he feel so guilty when he left Krycek there? He was a lying son of a bitch. And that was the nicest and cleanest thing he could say about his former partner. Why did he? He had almost killed Scully and himself numerous times. This would be usual cause for worry. Your ex-partner going on an outrage on you and your current partner. That is very bad.

Mulder had never really known Krycek. Well he knew him but not the way he knew Scully. He didn't know if he ever had a wife, maybe even a girlfriend. If he had either one then did he have kids? These types of questions continued to plague the agent's head as they continued the flight to Washington.

Another question struck his mind when the plane was being taxied into one of the Dulles terminals: Where exactly was his allegiance?

A/N: Any suggestions on the next person to purge their thoughts about Ratboy?
