Fate, Or Something Like It
Section 4: A Wedding To Remember
Chapter 31
Weird Dreams
Disclaimer: Happy Birthday Mrs. Rike! My teacher's birthday was yesterday. She'll never read this, but I still wanted to wish her happy birthday. Oh yea my disclaimer. Uuuummmmmmm... I own nothing that involves Gilmore Girls.
Luke and Lorelai were devastated when finding out that the child that she was carrying and had been carrying for a little over a month was going to die. They went home, Lorelai crying all the way and Luke trying to comfort her. After arriving home they tucked the kids, meaning Luke, and went straight to bed. Lorelai stayed up most of the night crying and throwing up, while Luke tossed an turned thinking about his unborn child. Finally around 3:00 while Lorelai was in the bathroom, Luke fell into an uneasy sleep.
"Lorelai! I'm home." Luke called as he walked into the house. "I brought some dinner in case you didn't make any."
"Me? Make dinner?" Lorelai called back. "You must be crazy Danes."
"I was. To marry you."
"Ouch!" Lorelai called down the stairs. "Your sons been kicking all day."
Luke made his way into the living room and sat down the mail onto the telephone table.
"Well he is his father's son."
"Don't get cocky."
"How am I getting cocky?" Luke asked walking upstairs to find his wife.
"Whatever. Rory called."
"She did?" Luke said looking into the bathroom.
"Yea, she said after her final Saturday she'll drive home."
"So you want me to cook you two a dinner?"
"Sure." Lorelai said obviously pleased. "And then all four of us can have a movie night."
"Four?" Luke asked pushing the bedroom door open.
"You, me, Rory, and little Lucas."
"He will not be named Lucas." Luke shot back.
He walked into the room to find his 7 month pregnant wife sitting on the bed flipping through a vogue magazine.
"Why not?"
"Because no child of mine will be named after me."
"Oh Luke!" Lorelai squealed. "Look at this dress." Lorelai held up the book to reveal a sparkly pink and black dress. "If only I wasn't so fat." Lorelai placed a hand on her stomach.
"Your not fat, your beautiful."
"Ha!" Lorelai laughed and turned back to the magazine, which she tore out the page with the dress. "Maybe when little Lucas is born." She mumbled.
"His name will not be Lucas."
"Whatever."
"Dinner is down stairs on the table. Go eat."
"What is it?" Lorelai asked shutting the magazine and pushing it to the side.
"Your favorite."
"Pizza?" Luke shook his head. "Chinese food?" Luke shook his head again. "It's salad isn't it." Luke shook his head yes.
"Go eat."
Lorelai stood up smoothed out the material that bunched around her stomach, kissed Luke, then made her way out of the room and down the stairs carefully.
"And don't think about drinking any of the coffee."
"Aaarrgg."
Beep...beep...beep...
"Damn alarm clock." Luke mumbled waking up. "Weird dream."
"Huh?" Lorelai asked stirring in her sleep.
"Go back to sleep."
"Okay." Lorelai said falling into a deep sleep.
Ding...ding..
The bell of the diner rung her arrival.
"Hey hon." Lorelai said plopping onto the stool and leaning over the counter to kiss Luke.
"Hey." Luke took out his pad. "You want something to eat?"
"Hamburger, without lettuce, tomato, and onion. And a large coffee, with extra cream."
"So just the meat and cheese." Luke stated.
"Don't forget the pickles."
"And pickles, got it." Luke turned around, gave Caesar the order, and poured Lorelai a cup of coffee. "This stuff will kill you."
"It's a great way to go."
"Orders up." Caesar called pushing a plate with food on it towards Luke.
"Here Lorelai." Luke sat the plate in front of Lorelai. "Eat up."
"Thanks."
Lorelai bit into her burger while Luke went around filling coffee cups.
"Hey Luke."
"Yea?" Luke asked walking around the counter and placing the coffee pot back in it's place.
"Coffee."
"You already have coffee." Luke said glancing into her cup.
"I know, but I want more."
"It's not good for you."
"So. I want more."
"Here kill yourself." Luke said handing Lorelai the pot.
"Gracious." Lorelai said smiling, while pouring coffee into her cup.
"De Nada." Luke answered.
"So you've been holding out on me Danes?"
"What?" Luke asked confused.
"You're talking in Spanish."
"Yea, so what?"
"Never mind."
"Mom?" Rory called walking into the diner. "You're favorite daughter's here."
"Rory!" Lorelai yelled turning around and facing her first born. "Look at you, all glowing."
"Well being pregnant can do that to you."
"So what does Logan think about being a father, again?"
"He's ecstatic." Rory said carefully walking over to a stool and sitting down. "Him and Molly are out shopping for baby clothes now."
"Aw. How sweet." Lorelai turned to Luke. "Why couldn't you be that sweet?"
"Aw Jeez."
"So have you talked to Will or Mia lately?" Rory asked Lorelai.
"Mia stopped by with her boyfriend a couple of days ago."
"How did dad react?"
"He was pissed."
"Oh dad." Rory said when Luke passed them.
"What is it Rory?" Luke stopped in front of the two girls. One 39 and the other 23.
"Mom said that you didn't like Mia's boyfriend."
"She's too young to date."
"She's 21."
"I don't care, she's too young to date."
"Oh daddy." Rory laughed. "What are you going to do when little Laurie wants to start dating?"
"She's only 5."
"Yea, but in a couple of years she'll want to date."
"Well then I'll lock her up in her room."
"At least you have Lucas, he's only 2 and probably be a little daddy's boy his whole life." Lorelai butted in.
"I also have Lucy."
"Yea, but she's 16, and she's already dating the bag boy at Doose's." Lorelai replied.
"The bag boy?"
"She's another Rory."
Lorelai turned over and opened her eyes to find the spot where Luke usually was, was empty. She rolled over on her other side and glanced at the clock to find it 8:00. It was time to feed the twins. She made her way to the nursery and walked inside. There was Luke rocking Will. She stepped closer.
"I had a weird dream." She whispered.
"Me too." Luke said turning around to her.
A/N: There's chapter 31. Bad or Good? Your decision. This one was a little different. It was kinda like chapter 3. Anyways read and review.
