11: Uncontrolled and Not Ashamed.

Zarya laid curled up on Lucifer's chest in the satin sheets for no reason other than just to. She wasn't actually tired. "I see you're realizing that dhampirs don't sleep as averagely as humans or vampires do," he teased her.

"Sometimes I'm awake for days on end, sometimes I have to resist the urge to sleep for days on end. It's alright, I guess. I don't really feel sleep deprivation like I would have as a human after a couple of days straight awake."

He hummed and kept playing with her hair. It was a minute before he spoke again. "Why are you being so close to me suddenly, Rya? Should I expect an escape soon?"

She laughed a little. "Maybe I'm just actually enjoying my time with you. There's been adventures, a little bit of danger, and-" She stopped suddenly, remembering something.

"I know exactly what you want, Rya. You want a love that consumes you, or nothing at all. You want passion, adventure, and even a little bit of danger. And that, my love, is why you will always return to me."

"What's the matter?" He asked.

"Nothing… I just remembered something from a dream I had once. It's nothing." She wasn't positive what motivated her to, but she sat up enough to give him a kiss. She slowly found herself becoming addicted to the feeling.

"Mm, you've been doing that more often." He grinned. "Do it again before I find myself in a trap because the Winchesters are having the audacity to summon me."

"You're joking," she deadpanned.

"No, unfortunately I'm not."

"Then I'm coming with you."

He laughed dryly. "Is that supposed to be your grand escape plan?"

She rolled her eyes. "Leverage in case it is a trap. Which, honestly, it totally has to be."

"You wanna come? Then feed beforehand." He smirked.

She frowned down at him. "Why do you have to be like this?"

"Tick, tock, Rya."

She could easily just stay, but what would happen when it was a plot with the help of Crowley and actually worked? They would come for her next. At least if she was there with him it might throw them off. Look at yourself, she thought. You're seeking ways to protect him; to help him. If Sam and Dean ever found out… being a dhampir would be the last of my worries… Against her better judgement, she let her face change and carefully bit down on his jugular. She felt one of his hands curled in her disastrous hair and the other sliding down her hip. She made it quick given the summoning, and also because she realized her mind had started wandering off and giving her body too much reign. When she pulled away, he smiled and wiped a drop of blood from the corner of her lip before they vanished.

Zarya winced at the heat from the flames of holy oil when they arrived. She realized immediately the warding on the floor inside of the circle. Lucifer chuckled and held her close to him with his arm across her chest. "I'm sorry. Your prayer implied that I'd be… joining the team, but I'm just not feeling the warm and fuzzy here." Both brothers had their eyes on Zarya who had found the Horn of Joshua. Lucifer followed her gaze and smirked. "Wow. There it is. Powered up by Dad himself. Well, that bad boy plus me with Rya at my side… That ought to take her out all right. Let's get to it. Douse the flames." He snapped his fingers impatiently. When they didn't move, he frowned. "Or don't? I'm perfectly content keeping Rya with me regardless. I just might be getting closer and closer to her reciprocating my imprint on her and when that happens I won't need a Hand of God." He smirked.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Zarya exclaimed since she actually had no idea what he meant.

"You're gonna let Zare go is what you're gonna do," Dean demanded.

Lucifer scoffed. "Do you expect her to be able to walk over flames or something? Gotta put out the fire if you want her back so badly."

Dean then cut his palm and slammed it against a sigil on the wall nearby. "Cas!" He called as Lucifer doubled over, letting Zarya go in the process. "Castiel! Show yourself!"

"Dean?" came the voice of Castiel.

Zarya's eyes widened. "C-Cas?" How much did he know…?

The angel looked around the church with confusion. "What are you doing? What- what's going on?" Then he met Zarya's panicked eyes.

"Cas, listen to me. We don't have a whole lot of time, okay? You have got to-"

And just like that with a small shout Castiel was put back under with Lucifer in control. He laughed as he looked over to the brothers. "Ah, you boys… Ohh you almost had me there for a minute. But these mail-order spells just aren't what they used to be, are they?"

Dean grit his teeth and kept trying. "Cas, expel him! You got to kick Lucifer out! Do you hear me?!"

"Honestly, I think he's happy with the arrangement. I mean, he did invite me in and all, Dean. Kind of like how Rya willingly left with me."

"Cas!"

"Cas!" Lucifer mocked with a whine and a laugh. Dean backed down with rage on his face. "Hand over the weapon. What do you say? Or we can just wait for this warding to fail and I'll take it."

"You want the Horn?" came Sam. "Then give us Clarke."

Dean looked quickly over at his brother. He almost disagreed with the proposition, but it was Zarya. That was when Crowley came out of the shadows yelling about it being the worst idea in history. "Bloody hell, don't you dare give him that damn Horn! Especially not for that monster of a woman beside him!"

As the warding began to fail, Lucifer smirked and snapped his fingers which made Crowley's voice vanish. As a last ditch effort, the demon smoked out and forced his way into the body housing the two angels. In the split second before it took Lucifer away from control, he put his hands on each side of Zarya's head and quickly muttered some spell in the Verbis Diablo. Her eyes widened, then she fell to the floor at his feet unconscious.

Zarya gasped when she awoke, finding herself immediately in the hall of doors in her mind. She scrambled to her feet when she heard fighting coming from down the hall. Without even looking she darted into the door it came from, not realizing it had been Lucifer's. She stumbled into the kitchen at the bunker with immense confusion. Before she could get her bearings, Crowley slid across the floor past her. "What the hell is going on?!" She exclaimed.

Cas was sitting in a chair watching TV without a care as to what was going on behind him until he heard Zarya. Crowley scrambled to his feet and across the way Lucifer stormed towards him to toss him around some more. Zarya had to refocus herself quickly when she was taken off guard seeing Nick's face for Lucifer again. When he met her eye he gave her a smirk. Cas finally stood from the chair and turned around.

"Zarya?" He questioned. "How did you get here?"

"Little magic," answered Lucifer. "Little connection to me. Wherever I go, she goes. Just give me a few more minutes to get rid of the garbage, sweetheart."

While Lucifer beat on Crowley, Zarya sighed. She walked over to where Cas was sitting and pulled up a chair beside him in front of the TV. "And I thought it was insanity inside of my head," she commented.

Cas shrugged. "It's not so bad. Lucifer mostly just leaves me alone. I'm just waiting here, you know, for the battle with the Darkness."

"You really have no idea what's going on out there, do you?"

"Not particularly, no. Why? Has he done something to hurt you, Zarya?"

She smiled softly at the angel. "No, Cas. I'm alright, I promise. He hasn't done anything except be an egotistical ass."

Crowley went flying by just then and into a rack of dishware. "Guys, you're gonna break something." Zarya and Castiel told them though they didn't care much past that.

Lucifer kept beating the hell out of Crowley and cussing him out until the sound of the exorcism outside penetrated through. Crowley vanished from out of Lucifer's hands suddenly. He quickly ran over and grabbed Zarya to make sure she got out safely. Castiel called to him before they exited. "Keep her safe," he told the archangel adamantly.

He smirked at his young brother. "That's all I've ever tried to do."

"-just like Crowley to leave right when the party's getting started. Have a seat." Zarya came to as Lucifer forced Sam and Dean down in a couple of the pews. The fire was out and clearly the warding failed. "As much as I get a giggle out of you two, and I do, there comes a time when every relationship has… run its course. So…" He closed his fist slowly which was taking the air out of the brothers, causing them to choke.

Dean found Zarya's gaze as she began to sit up slowly. "Z-Zare…" He choked out with some of his last breaths.

As she began to stand on her shaky legs, a massive blast at the front doors of the church knocked her back down to the floor. Amara stood in the blasted hole she put in the church. Zarya gasped with wide eyes, then realized how close she had become to the Horn of Joshua.

"Oh, Lucifer." Amara spoke as she entered. "Dear nephew, my, how you've changed." Lucifer smirked. "I was tracking her," she gestured to Rowena hidden in a dark corner, "when she left my side."

Still mostly choking, neither brother could call to Zarya and tell her not to do it as she reached for the Horn. Being sure to grab it by the cloth it was wrapped in, she took the Horn and quickly flung it to Lucifer. "You were safely sealed away." He told Amara. "You're gonna wish you'd stayed there." Once the power was absorbed, he conjured a ball of white, hot fire that he launched at Amara. It burst into violent fire, consuming her in it. When the light finally died down she stood there completely untouched. He immediately turned to Zarya with an outstretched hand.

She couldn't scramble to her feet quick enough when she saw the almost panic in his face. Not even thinking about Sam and Dean being there anymore, Zarya started to sprint forward reaching for his hand. Just before she could grab him, Amara yanked Lucifer to her. Zarya fell to the floor face first. "I think you and I need to have a nice, long chat."

When they vanished, Zarya's eyes widened. An indescribable feeling of dread overcame her.

She wouldn't talk to the brothers at all on the car ride back to the bunker, or even when they returned. They wondered with an angered fear of what Lucifer could have done to her. She didn't look physically harmed, had he gotten to her mentally? They couldn't even consider the actually obvious: that she was worried.

What would Amara do to him? Could Lucifer fight back at all, let alone without Zarya? Should she try to find him? Would she stand a chance of rescuing him? She knew Sam and Dean weren't about to rush a rescue mission. Maybe if she could get some of the other Vasiles? She fought with keeping all of her secrets and saving the archangel.

In a failed attempt to ease her concern, Zarya tried to consider that maybe Lucifer wouldn't need saving. He was powerful. But stronger with you there, she was reminded. As her mind battled all possibilities, something struck down her spinal column like lightning. It was as if every light had been turned on full blast. Where had it come from, and why? She remained quiet as they walked into the bunker while trying to deduce the odd sensation. She went to bed that night without saying a damn word, still wondering aimlessly about the sudden clarity.

When she finally fell into an empty sleep she detached from herself. She floated aimlessly until something tethered her. It was that feeling of warmth that was actually so cold it burned. There was pain and weakness. Vulnerability but strong defiance. Zarya launched up in bed suddenly. Her eyes flashed blue for a split second.

"Lucifer," she breathed.

Zarya knew then that she had to do something to convince Sam and Dean to help her, even if at least for Castiel. It was still his body afterall. She rushed from her room to find the brothers, but they had already left; there was a case in Idaho. They hadn't wanted to disturb her because they didn't know what happened while she was gone but they couldn't ignore the Darkness trying to consume a town. Zarya packed a bag with haste before getting in her deVille and speeding towards Idaho.

Sam and Dean were barricaded in the police station with as many survivors as they could get. Amara's fog was swallowing the town and its people whole. They struggled to close off every possible vent and hole they could, but it wasn't good enough. Slowly but surely the toxic fog began seeping in.

Zarya was speeding through the neighboring town when she saw the looming darkness. Could she make it through quick enough? What even was her plan? She realized then that she had reverted to winging it like she once used to. As she entered the ravaged town she had to slow down because of all the damage. While she was making her way through some crashed vehicles, a pickup slammed her down at full speed on the passenger's side.

Zarya went flying out her window since she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. She groaned as she hit the ground. Shaking off the stars she was seeing showed her a small mob of infected people stalking towards her to attack. Zarya leapt to her feet while her wounds healed and began jumping over and across vehicles and debris. Anybody left outside was still succumbing to the poisonous air, so why wasn't she? A wooden arrow shot through her shoulder suddenly. She fell to the ground, groaning with sheer annoyance as she ripped the arrow from her flesh. By the time she stood, sunlight was beaming down upon everything.

"What the fuck…?" She muttered.

Looking around, Zarya watched the black veins disappear from the people. She walked through the mess backwards, unable to take her eyes off of the light consuming the darkness. Behind her a ways Sam and Dean emerged from the police station just as confused. Dean held his old 'Samulet' while it glowed brightly. They walked on, witnessing everyone healing and picking up. That was when they laid their eyes on Chuck who smiled at them. "We should probably talk."

When they caught sight of Zarya coming out of the mess from behind him, Sam and Dean were immediately relieved and elated. Chuck turned around with confusion which instantly became a stiffened concern when he met eyes with Zarya Vasile. She didn't need the amulet to know who he was when she laid eyes on him. Chuck awaited some kind of outburst just as Remiel would do. When it never came, and Zarya only coldly walked past him to the Winchesters, a feeling of dread pooled in Chuck's gut.

"I'm telling you guys, it's a mistake to get mixed up with Lucifer. Much as it pained me, I had to walk away. Too much drama. Do you have any bacon?"

Zarya overheard Chuck as she descended the stairs in the bunker. She had kept up with the brothers' texts about Chuck being God and being there at the bunker, and she found herself incredibly infuriated. She had gathered He was God in Idaho. That was why she was avoiding Him. She kept her distance to fix her car. The visions that came and went randomly of Lucifer being tortured by Amara was bad enough. "You really are a deadbeat dad," she commented as she stood behind him.

Chuck actually jumped back about a foot, looking at the ravenette with a horrified expression. He didn't see angel grace around her so it wasn't Remiel, but he hadn't seen her coming at all. "You're not Remiel."

"No. And I never will be. But thanks for creating a psychotic archangel hell bent on taking my body after she created the most fucked up family in history."

"Zare," Dean interjected, "maybe you shouldn't do this right-"

"No, I think now is a great time." She stepped forward daringly towards Chuck. "You did this. All of this. And here you go turning your back on your children once again. You honestly blame Lucifer for not bending over backwards for humanity? You kicked him out of the family for it because you knew he was right. Just look at all Remiel was able to accomplish by exploiting the weaknesses of humanity. You abandoned your own creation. Both humanity and angels. This chaos is on you. And you know your once most favorite son is getting the life tortured out of him by your sister! His Dad throws him in prison, and his aunt tortures him. No wonder he's fucked up. So if you're not gonna do a damn thing, then I guess I fucking will." She had been advancing slowly as she spoke. When she was within arm's range she pulled back one of her balled fists and hit Him with all of her supernatural strength knocking Him back a few feet to the floor.

"Zare!" Dean shouted after her as she headed back to the steps. It wasn't enough as she bounded them two steps at a time until she was swiftly out the door.

Blood actually dripped from Chuck's nose. He stared after the ravenette with wide eyes. It took that moment of contact for Him to actually know who and what she was. He saw Lucifer's imprint firmly and brightly on her soul. Shakily, He got back to His feet. "Why the hell have you let that woman live?" He asked the brothers suddenly.

"You wanna try that one again?" Dean barked. "Zare is our family. She'll never say 'yes' to Remiel."

Chuck laughed dryly as He stared at them. "Oh, no, she won't. I can guarantee that. And that's only because of how tightly tied to Lucifer she is! Whatever you have with her is only temporary."

"We've kept her safe from Lucifer this long," Sam argued. "She's just sure, like Cas is, that he's our only hope for standing a chance against Amara."

"Is that- is that what she told you? Guys, I have never been able to see her existence in my creation all her life. I could catch glimpses of the Vasiles through the years, but barely. She's been hidden from me until just now. She's got a massive imprint on her soul from Lucifer, which - by the way - I didn't ever think was gonna be a thing since he never marked Remiel back."

"What's the big deal about the imprints?"

"When an angel leaves an imprint on another angel it's like their way of claiming them. They anchor themselves to one another to share and increase their power. Remiel took right to Lucifer, but Lucifer never did the same to her. We all thought he just would never imprint on anyone let alone a dhampir. Well, that mark was so old it had to have been made when she was human."

While Sam and Dean were getting their minds blown from the influx of new information, Zarya was speeding down the road. She originally had returned to the bunker to tell the boys that she got a glimpse of where Amara was actually keeping Lucifer at last. Ever since she had him, Zarya had been having nightmares and daymares of her torturing him. She could feel the strain put on his body. She didn't know why it made her so mad but she would be damned if she just let it continue.

When Lucifer heard the engine speed up on the warehouse, he chuckled. Amara demanded to know what he knew. "I know you're about to be dealing with one seriously pissed off Vasile dhampir if you don't let me go and vanish." Only one door whipped open and slammed shut. "Oh, by all means; I have yet to see her full fury."

With one swift, supercharged kick to the door, it flew off the hinges. Amara's eyes widened when she saw just Zarya standing in the doorway. She stomped her way in and both celestials could feel the fired up rage emitting from her. Her jaw was set tightly, fangs extended. The green-blue hue of her eyes was slowly turning a crimson red. Amara's eyes actually widened some. She had not yet witnessed a dhampir, let alone a Vasile dhampir, being locked away. On top of that she could see clear as day the imprint her nephew had left on the woman's soul. She was nothing like Remiel. She was… greater.

"You know," the ravenette hissed venomously, "I am getting real fucking sick and tired of you immortals thinking you can just dick us around."

"Where is my brother?" Amara demanded.

"Not fucking coming. I'm sorry, did you miss the memo? God doesn't give a fuck! Why do you think I'm the one standing here and he's not? Why no one else is? Because I give a fuck! Me! I went from being an average waitress to this bullshit. Now let him go before I have to waste energy on you that I could be using to finally wipe Remiel from my fucking life."

Her brow raised. "You seek to kill Remiel?"

"Jeeze, you really don't get any of the damn memos, do you? Yes! I'm gonna drive his fucking sword right through her chest and watch the life leave her fucking eyes. I don't care if it blinds me. I want to watch that fucking bitch die."

Amara was quiet for a long moment before her expression softened. "Remiel used to be my favorite," she admitted. "I'm the one who gave her the stone. Then she turned her back on me when I needed her most because she already had what she wanted. She manipulates, she lies, and she murders for her own gain. Can you assure me that you can actually kill her?"

Zarya's face had returned to normal. The fury dimmed down to borderline rage. "Yes, I can. But I need Lucifer to do it. God is never going to come for him. He turned His back on all of us."

Amara thought for a moment. She glanced back at Lucifer once, then back to the dhampir before her. Even through the rage there was still concern in her greener-than-blue eyes. She cared for Lucifer, didn't she? And it was in a way completely different than Remiel had. What Remiel had felt was obsession combined with her own selfishness. Zarya genuinely cared. With a flick of her wrist Lucifer fell to the ground. "Kill Remiel, then I want to know where my brother is."

Zarya nodded. "Deal." Once she was gone, Zarya dashed over to Lucifer on the floor. She helped him sit up as she knelt down beside him. "Jeeze, she really did a number on you, huh? Come on." She put one of his arms around her shoulders and helped him out and to her car. "Why aren't you healing so well?" She asked as they walked.

"Little too much abuse," he replied with a small chuckle. "It'll take more time, but I'll be fine."

As she walked back around to the driver's side, she sighed when an idea came to her. When she sat and shut the door she paused. The decision had been made, but she had to bring herself to actually do it. Before Lucifer could ask her what was wrong, she bit into her wrist and held it out to him. "The concept still baffles me, but it'll heal you if you drink it."

His brows raised with surprise. "Rya… you don't have to. I will be fine."

"Yeah, I know, but…" She sighed again. The wound was beginning to close slowly. "But I don't like seeing you that messed up. So just do it before it heals. Please."

Solely at her request did he drink the blood from her wrist. Every bruise, gash, and various other damage healed without trace it was ever there. They both just sat there for a moment after feeling rather differently. The keys were in the ignition, though Zarya made no effort to turn the car on. She was trying to steady her heart that was beginning to beat faster. Her efforts were useless, however, because beside her Lucifer could feel her losing grip. It took him a moment to figure it out; the link between them was no longer one way - it extended to both of them. She'd had his blood before, and he just had hers.

"Man, I hate being a dhampir," she muttered. She knew he could feel her spiral. She could feel what seemed to be enjoyment over the matter.

"No you don't." He turned his head to look at her though she still looked down at her lap. "That's actually what you don't like - that you do like it. You enjoy not being tossed around like a ragdoll anymore. You enjoy the speed, the allure, and especially the compulsion." He smirked. "I'm sure you've thought about wiping Sam and Dean's minds at least a time or two if your secret got out."

"It… already got out." And I'm certainly not admitting to you that I had considered compelling them when I got back… "Chuck was adamant about not helping you and it pissed me off so I broke his nose. If that didn't give it away then I'm sure He told them because there's no way He didn't figure it out when I made Him bleed."

"You broke my Dad's nose?" He smiled a little when she nodded. He reached over and grabbed her hand. As soon as they touched it was like lightning through both of them. "Do you still wonder what makes you so special to me, Rya?"

When she finally looked up to him, she knew her cheeks were pink. She could feel the heat in her flesh. Everything was falling apart anyways. She expected to return to the bunker to get chewed out. Might as well make it worth her wild. Curling her fingers around his that already held her hand she leaned over and kissed him. The electricity they had felt when he touched her hand was nothing compared to that. She barely realized when she ended up straddling his lap as the vampire within her took control. She accidentally cut his lip again which caused him to smirk and tilt his head to the side to expose more of his throat. The part of her that remained human struggled, but was just too weak. Her irises turned crimson and her hips bucked into his a little as she bit down. They both knew where it was headed.

Fuck it, this is my circus now, she thought as she pulled away and tugged at the buttons of his shirt. Sam and Dean can know I'm a dhampir now. It's still not the worst thing they didn't know.

"Ugh, why skinny jeans?" She heard Lucifer mutter. Then there was a snap from his fingers, and her jeans turned into a mini skirt.

"Fuck's sake, Lucifer!" Her cheeks had turned nearly as red as her eyes, or the blood on her lips.

"Shush, I'll switch it back later." He grabbed her chin and brought her face back to kiss her just before thrusting himself deep inside her. Zarya always felt like nothing he'd ever experienced before, even being an archangel. She was both purity and sin all in one. Skin softer than any fabric, every nook and curve, and especially every sweet sound she made. Whether she was cussing him out or begging for him for fuck her.

"Alright, time out," Sam finally spoke. "First thing's first: Clarke is a dhampir?"

"That's your first question?" Dean interjected. "She just duffed God in the nose and made Him bleed. Yeah, she's a freakin' half vamp. What the fuck is this imprint shit?"

Chuck sighed once He pressed His nose back into place. "It's the Heavenly equivalent to a soulmate. An angel can only give or receive one with a deep sense of love and connection to another lifeform. They merge and become more powerful as one. It's a bond that can never be broken. Remiel made her mark on Lucifer as soon as she laid eyes on him, but he never matched her mark so it remained one sided. His imprint, instead, is on Zarya's soul. It's so deep and so old that it's been there for more than half of her life on this planet."

"B-but it's only one sided," Sam argued. "So Clarke can still walk away from him like he did to Remiel."

"Yeah, sure." Chuck shrugged. "If that wasn't what had driven Remiel to insanity."

"What do you mean?"

"When Remiel started getting her… visions, she was emotionally overwhelmed by something in particular. She found access to multiple timelines in the same universe; various possible outcomes depending on the right circumstances. If X happens then Y will happen but if A happens instead then B will happen, blah blah blah. I never understood why she was so obsessed, I thought it was something to do with her darkness dwelling. But that was because in each of the timelines I believed the person alongside Lucifer was Remiel. I was wrong. It was Zarya."

"Now you're really losing me," came Dean. "You wanna start making sense of these timeline theories?"

"It's really better if I just show you a handful. Now that I've actually been in the same room as Zarya I can actually see them better."

With a tap to the brothers' foreheads, they were thrown into various scenes that would forever haunt them.

The drive back to the bunker was mostly quiet. Both Lucifer and Zarya were content enough with his hand on her upper thigh (that had been changed back to skinny jeans) as she drove. When they finally pulled up, she gave a small groan. "This is gonna be fun," she muttered.

"We could just leave," Lucifer offered with a shrug. "You get to avoid the Winchesters, I avoid my Dad, and we can continue from earlier." He grinned.

She chuckled and shook her head. "I was tempted to keep driving, but I figured you'd rather watch Dean freak out all while still knowing there's worse shit they don't know about us."

"You're quite right, my love. Especially when they're wondering why I'm not so battered and bloody." He smirked and winked before quickly getting out of the car.

Zarya's eyes widened at the realization. She hastily exited the car and chased after him into the bunker. It was about to be a battle over her having turned and lied about it; it could cause war getting out that she fed him her blood to heal him. She skidded in right behind him, crashing into his back. Sam, Dean, and Chuck were all waiting for them. Zarya looked up to see Lucifer glaring icily at his Dad while seemingly trying to keep Zarya behind him.

"Let her go," Dean demanded.

"He's not holding me captive," Zarya argued.

"Oh, now you're defending him?"

Sam sighed and put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Dean, relax. When did it happen, Clarke?"

She looked at the floor. "After the Mark of Cain was removed," she admitted in a small voice. "I crashed the car I was driving from the surge and then it made my heart stop."

"I didn't know," Lucifer stressed. "Damon Salvatore made a deal with me to protect Nova from the collapse of the Other Side. If I hadn't been there, doing that, then I could have protected her."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sam asked softly as he stepped in front of his still seething brother.

"Because we're hunters. I can't be half vampire around hunters. I'm a monster too now. I knew I wouldn't be the same to you anymore."

"Did you know?" He asked Lucifer.

The archangel opened his mouth to answer, but Zarya spoke first. "No, not until today. He thought I was trying to kill myself when I busted in. Only Katia, Nova, and Zina know." Well, Sofia and the rest of the Vasiles on Earth probably do too to be honest.

"How are you healed?" asked Chuck. "If Amara really did do extensive damage to you then you shouldn't look so well."

Zarya stepped forward then. "It was me. Vampire blood heals bodily injuries. Dhampir blood is even stronger than that."

Dean was practically twitching from seething. After what Chuck had shown them, how any detail no matter how small could be changed and Zarya would still be Lucifer's, he couldn't bear to see the archangel live anymore. He had to do whatever he could to keep Zarya away from him. "Why the hell did you do it?" He finally asked.

She looked up at him for a moment. "Because someone had to. If you want so badly to not add Lucifer into the equation, then think of Cas. Cope with it how you want. I'll leave if you want me to. So figure it out while I get some resemblance of peace in my bedroom." She briskly walked past all of them with her head down.

Chuck watched as Lucifer's eyes followed the ravenette out of the room. There was something different about his son when Zarya was involved. After his refusal to anchor to Remiel, Chuck honestly believed Lucifer would just never commit; that he was too self-absorbed and self-destructive. And yet somehow Zarya Vasile of all creatures swayed him so easily.
