Eden's POV

"We've been looking everywhere for you" the short little pixie tackled me and wrapped her arms around me.. I haven't been around many of our kind before, the only two covens that I have encountered are the Denali Coven up in Alaska, and unfortunately my favourite soulless creatures; the Volturi. Needless to say two new vampires should have made me quite nervous, but these two made it as easy as breathing to trust them.

I could feel her arms loosen up, and let go. "I'm Alice Cullen and this is my mate Jasper Hale" she pointed at the male, who had a puzzling look on his face.

"Our family is in trouble and we need your help. Will you please consider coming with us? Not for a battle, but just as a witness." She looked at me with glimmering hope in her eyes, "Will you please help us?" she asked with the most heartbreaking look on her face. When I looked deep into their thoughts I could see a little girl. Was she an immortal child? I asked myself, as I tucked my long curly blonde hair behind my ear. Is that why the Volturi were going after her? I mean after hearing what they did to Sasha from the Denali Coven for creating Vasilii, you would think that people would know. The events unveiled themselves showing this young girl growing rapidly, I was awestruck. So she wasn't an immortal child? She was a hybrid.

I've heard about the legends before, but I never thought they would turn out to be true. This family needed my help, more importantly this little girl needed me.

I nodded my head in agreement, as I gave them a slight smile. "Of course I'll help."

"Do you even want to know what we need you to be a witness for?" Jasper questioned..

"Surprisingly I do, I know that there's a very special little girl that needs my help proving her case to the Volturi." Jasper looked at me with the most baffling look on his face. "I have multiple gifts, and I know the Denali coven personally as well. I met them when I was a newborn, they helped me out for the first couple years of my life. Eleazer was the first one to help identify some of my various powers. It is still a bit difficult for him to recognize all of them as my shield prevents him." As I said this, they looked so dumbfounded. I let out a little laugh, "One of my gifts is that by just looking into someone's eyes, I'm able to feel every emotion they've ever felt, as well as hear every thought that has ever entered their minds."

"That's amazing" I heard Jasper mutter under his breath, I looked over at Alice. "Where are we headed to next, what other witnesses do you need to find?"

"We have all of our witnesses now, you were the last one on our list. However some members of our family have been looking for you for years. I have seen glimpses of you in various visions I've had, but I knew that we had to keep quiet about you. We couldn't tell the rest of our family, as Aro would know that you were coming." Alice looked at me, I was astonished, members of their family missed me? Maybe they considered the Denali's like family, just as I do. I haven't seen them in years, I miss them too.

"We were aware that you have had personal experiences with the Volturi. Carlisle once told us that there was one of our kind that had various powers. One vampire that could take out all of the Volturi with a snap of their fingers, that is if they really wanted to." Alice said.

I honestly couldn't wrap my head around it. This is the reason why the Volturi has been wanting me to join them all this time? So which one of the Denali's ratted me out, the three girls had been like sisters to me. I couldn't believe that they would say anything when we were that close. I never had much of a family once my parents disappeared, so I kind of clung onto the girls in a way. I still keep up with Kate to this day, but other than that I live my life mainly in isolation. Away from the 'spotlight' so I never have to worry about anyone finding out my secrets. No one else besides the Denali's should know about my other gifts.

"How did the Volturi find out about the little one?" I raised my eyebrow slightly.

"Irina," Alice sighed.

"Woah, woah, woah, what do you mean Irina? She's the one that told them about her?" I asked, Jasper nodded, as Alice looked down at her feet.

That's when it dawned on me, Irina told Aro about the girl, and when he read her mind he saw flashbacks of me with the Denali Clan. That's why Alice needed me, to help protect her family, and I now had to protect mine as well.

"There's a lot more to it then you know Eden. But we should really get going, so we get there on time." I looked at Jasper as he said this, and we took off running.

Forks.

We arrived at the field where the confrontation was taking place, on our way we met up with Nahuel and his aunt. He was also a hybrid, and one of the best witnesses for the Cullens to have. As we walked towards the field, I knew they had heard our footsteps in the snow. Aro gasped he was so happy.

"Alice" he whispered excitedly. I stayed back with Nahuel and his Aunt as Alice and Jasper walked up to the Volturi. There were various voices calling out to Alice, they had been waiting for her. As they were making their way over to Aro, three guards grabbed them and held them from going any further.

"My dear, dear Alice. We're so glad to see you here, after all." Aro looked at her gleefully.

"I have evidence the child won't be a risk to our kind. Let me show you" Alice said.

"Brother" Caius looked over at Aro, as Alice began walking over to them. Aro grasped onto Alice's hand, and I saw everything he saw. The battle that would take place, and the lovely ending of his sad, sadistic life. Honestly I don't blame the look that was on his face, I'd be looking the same way if I were to watch someone rip my head off, and light me on fire one second, then be dragged back to reality the next.

"Now you know, that's your future. Unless you decide on another course." she gloated, sending a glare his way. That man looked absolutely terrified, he knew what the outcome would entail, and he was not ready to give up his immortality due to a little girl.

"We cannot alter our course. The child continues to pose a grave threat." Caius looked at his brother.

"But what if you could guarantee she could remain concealed from the human world? Could we leave in peace?" A bronze haired male named Edward asked them.

"Of course, yet that cannot be known." Caius yelled back.

"Actually, it can." As Edward said this, Nahuel, and his aunt started to walk up. I was staying back to let them talk through it all. If I didn't have to converse with Aro, then I'd rather not. I was getting too lost in my thoughts while Nahuel was explaining his life story that I didn't even realize Felix was walking up behind me, until he grabbed me and started pulling me across the field towards Aro. I wasn't sure if they were aware of all of my gifts, or only certain portions so it was best to remain calm and not do anything rash.

"Ah my dear Eden," Aro said as he grabbed my hand in his and pulled me closer and out of Felix's straight jacket. I heard my name running through the crowd behind me. Eden, that's not a name you hear normally. Someone's mind was a lot louder than the rest.

I looked up at Aro, "ah at last, I still can't read your mind" he looked at me with so much disappointment.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I am a shield after all, and I figured out why you want me to join your coven so badly." I smiled at him, "unfortunately however, I'm going to have to decline, again Aro." I heard Jane growl from her position next to her brother Alec, she was always jealous of me and what I'm capable of. "As well as I guess you could say that I came here as more of a body guard than a witness. So I'm sorry Aro, but if you choose to fight today, I'll help them take you out" I said, as I withdrew my hand from his grasp.

"One day you'll join us Eden, one day you'll be a part of us" Aro told me as I started to walk away from them, back over towards Alice.

Aro turned back around to his coven. "Dear ones, there is no danger here. We will not fight today." Caius glared at him in absolute disbelief. If you were human you wouldn't be able to notice where they went as they all retreated back towards the woods. Aro turned around once more, "Such a prize" he whispered looking at Alice, and I as he ran out of sight.
