"Honey! Call the hospital! I think it's time to have the baby!"
In the early afternoon of April 2nd, a couple of merfolks were driving to get to the hospital, for they were expecting a baby. The mother-to-be was breathing calmly as her husband drove. They got to the hospital on time, and just as the sun was setting, the baby was born...
"WAAAAAAAAAH!" the newborn baby screamed.
"Well, it looks like your little girl is healthy," a doctor announced to the newly parents. They were really happy to hear the news, especially the mother. "Would you like to hold her?" the doctor asked.
"Yes, please," the mother said, holding out her arms. A nurse handed the tiny merchild over to her. The child herself just kept screaming until she was in her mother's arms.
The baby looked a lot like her parents. She inherited her mother's facial features and her father's purple hair, though her hair is a lighter shade of purple.
"Hey, baby girl. Hi!" the father said to his new daughter, holding her hand. The tiny Guppy cooed at her parents with a smile and they smiled back at her.
"Do you have for this bundle of joy?" the doctor asked the two merfolks.
After thinking for a few moments, the father answered, "Well, I always liked the name "Oona".
"Oona Makoto Umiko... yeah! I like it," the mother said.
The Umikos smiled, for they were now the parents of little Oona.
After the doctors left the Umikos alone, baby Oona started fussing.
"Shh... it's okay, sweetie. It's okay. Mommy and Daddy are here," the mother whispered to her. "We're not going anywhere." Mrs. Umiko gently rocked the baby until she was fast asleep.
"Goodnight, little Oona," the father whispered to his sleeping daughter.
