"Oona no wanna go..." the 2-year Guppy said to her mother as they were walking down the street.

"Oh, sweetie," Mrs. Umiko said in a soothing voice. "I know you are nervous about meeting him, but I'm sure you are going to like him."

Oona and her mother were on their way to visit their neighbor, a close friend of Mrs. Umiko, who just had a baby. Little Oona was very nervous about meeting the baby. See, she wasn't used to being around people besides her parents, and she was really shy when meeting someone new. So, her mother thought meeting someone younger than her would help her feel a little less shy around other kids.

When they reached the neighbor's house, Oona hid behind her mother as the latter rang the doorbell. Out came a lavender fish. Oona recognized her as her mother's friend. She had came by her house a few times and even babysat her once. This made Oona feel a little comfortable.

"Hi there. Won't you come on in," the fish said with a smile.

The little mergirl was hestitant at first. This was actually the first time she visited her house.

"It's okay, Oona," her mother said gently.

And so they went inside of the house. Oona looked around. It's just so different compare to her own house.

"Where's little Avi," the dark haired mother asked. "I would very much like to see him."

"He's upstairs in our room," her friend said. "Come on, I'll show you."

So Oona and her mother followed the fish upstairs to the master bedroom to a tiny bassinet.

"Oh, isn't he just adorable..." Mrs. Umiko cooed as she looked inside of the bassinet.

"I wish I could let you hold him, but he's still asleep," whispered the lavender fish. She then turned to little Oona, who was quietly staring down at her tail fin. "Would you like to see Avi?" she asked her kindly.

The purple-haired toddler shook her head and hid behind her mother again.

"Come on, Oona," Mrs. Umiko said to her daughter. "There's nothing to be afraid of."

"Oona no wanna meet baby!" Oona whined frustratedly.

"Shh..." shushed Avi's mother. She quickly looked at bassinet. Thankfully, her son was still sleeping peacefully. "I think she still needs some time to warm up to him," she said in a hushed tone. "I'll introduce Avi to her a little later when he wakes up."

"That sounds like a good idea," Oona's mother agreed as they all left the room.

Back downstairs, the two women were drinking some tea in the kitchen as they chat while Oona was playing quietly in the living room. All of a sudden they heard some crying coming from the baby moniter.

"Looks like somebody is up from his nap," the lavender fish said, standing up from her chair. "I better see what's the matter," she added as she went upstairs.

A couple of minutes later, she came back down with a bundle in her arms. The crying had not stop.

"Shh... Avi, don't cry," the fish said in a gentle, but tired voice. "It's okay. Mommy's here."

But the baby just kept on crying. His mother sighed as she sat down on a couch and started to rock him.

Little Oona was curious as to what was going on, so she climbed onto the couch and took a good look at the little sea fry.

Avi looked a lot like his mother, with the only difference being that his scales are colored blue instead of lavender. And he was crying his eyes out.

Oona wanted to help make little Avi happy, but how?

She scanned the living room floor to see what she can use to comfort the baby. She came across a baby rattle that looks like a seahorse. When she picked it up, it made a rattling sound. Maybe this could calm Avi down.

So, Oona held the rattle in front of the crying baby shook it gently. The sound of it's little rattling noise seem to calmed him down a bit. Avi turned around to see Oona shaking his rattle and he smiled and cooed at her. Oona smiled back at him, happy to see him happy.

Little Avi then reached out his fin towards her. He wanted her to hold his fin. Oona look at his mother, who nodded at her to go ahead. And so she did. Avi giggled as Oona's smile grew even bigger.

"Looks like you made a new friend," Avi's mother said with a smile. "Would you like to hold him, Oona?"

"Yes please!" Oona said happily.

Her mother then came into the living room with some hand sanitizer. After sanitizing her hand, she place Oona onto her lap while Avi's mother placed Avi into Oona's arms.

"I'm just going to get something real quick," the lavender fish said to Oona. "I'll be right back."

Oona and her mother played peek-a-boo with Avi for a bit before his mother came back with a pink starfish in one hand and a mirror in another.

"Consider this as a late birthday gift," she said to Oona, placing the star onto her hair. She held the mirror in front of her, and Oona smiled.

"Oona wuv it!" she exclaimed, handing Avi to her mother and hugging the lady. "Thank you so much!"

Not long after, it was time for Oona and her mom to go home. The young Guppy was sad to be leaving so soon, but Avi's mother assured her that she can visit them anytime. Oona kissed Avi goodbye and swam off with her mother, who said, "You're really growing up Oona."
