So this is an idea that came to me in my sleep. In it I will be using the idea that Obi-Wan and Satine have a child but I am going to incorperate souls from the HP universe.
Remember unless it's OC I DON'T OWN IT!
Clan Kenobi
Prolog
"This should never have been allowed to pass." A female voice growled in anger and disgust as she stared down at the life before her.
The woman in question was only at the end of her teenage years, but the armor she wore showed that she was very much considered an adult among her people.
"Sister he is just a babe do not blame him for living." The tired voice of the elder sibling said as she approached the dark-haired baby, she had given birth no more than a day ago.
The armor wearing red head glared at the woman in question. "He never should've been born! Do you realize the insult you've brought upon us by having that…jetiis child?!" Bo-Katan Kryze hissed at her sister Satine Kryze her tone making the babe before her shift away cooing slightly in annoyance.
"And you should remember which of us is the leader of the New Mandalorian movement." Satine hissed back before she reached into the crib and lifted her son into her arms.
The movement caused the babe to open their eyes and allow his mother to smile at the sight of the bright green both orbs held. "Hello little Harrier." She said as she kissed his forehead.
Beyond his green eyes the most distinguishing mark upon him was a birthmark that appeared as a lightning bolt upon his brow above his right eye.
"And you even had the gall to name him after a great warrior of old!" Bo-Katan hissed in anger at the sight of the half-Mandalorian child in her sisters' arms.
"Why do you hate him so much, sister? I don't remember any laws of old that held such prejudice against a new life." Satine asked/demanded.
"Except for those born with the blasted Force! That…things fathers genetics will influence his life and the instant he uses that power everyone will demand his head and yours for giving birth to him!" She growled glaring at the babe in question who just gave her a blank look back.
"His name is Harrier! And you will never call him a thing again in my presents!" Satine growled, making Bo-Katan blink for a moment.
"Sister or not, no one insults my son!" She hissed, making Bo-Katan glare once more.
"Then I truly have no choice." Bo growled before she motioned her hand. Satine was confused until she heard boots hitting the ground making her turn in surprise at the sight of three other armored Mandalorians.
"Sister…!" Satine growled as she pulled her child in closer to her chest. "Don't make this harder than it has to be sister." Bo said before the four armor wearers moved eventually separating mother and child with the three armor wearing males holding Satine.
"Get off me! You have no right!" She called as Bo took the baby and set him down upon a platform and drew out a knife.
"This is the way." She said before she made to plunge the knife towards the babe.
"NO!" Satine called in fear only to blink in surprise when Harriers eyes suddenly glowed green before Bo and the three armor wearers were thrown away into the walls while she was left unharmed.
After a moment of surprise Satine rushed forward and picked up her baby. The boy looked at her with laden eyes yawning before falling asleep once again safe in her arms. "Guards!" Satine called out after a moment.
"Harrier is not safe here." Satine thought after her sister and her conspirators were arrested and now awaiting trial. However, she had no delusions that her son's use of power would go hidden for long.
She knew that the moment it became general knowledge that her son was a Force user those that shared her sisters' ideals would try again. She knew her son needed to leave this world and learn to defend himself.
Which meant it was time to contact the one person she could trust to watch over their son. A beeping from the nearby consul made her sigh as she approached and activated the hologram.
She smiled slightly at the image of a man her age of twenty before her. He still had his hair short and a braid hanging from the left wearing brown robes over a tan outfit.
"Lady Satine." Obi-Wan Kenobi said with a bow and a smile. Satine also smiled but knew from the worry that appeared upon her beloveds' face that it was sad.
"Obi-Wan…I am in need of your help once more, my love." She spoke to him.
"Anything." He promised.
"Before we begin…is Master Qui-Gon with you as well?" She asked, making Obi-Wan nod.
"He's in the other room. He wanted to give me privacy for this conversation. Shall I get him?" He asked, making her nod.
"I've no doubt this will concern him as well." She said, making him nod once before he left for a moment.
Soon he returned this time with the long haired almost lion like man that was training her love in the ways of the Jedi. "Duchess." Qui-Gon Jinn said with a bow which she returned.
"My Padawan says you are in need of our help?" He questioned making her nod before she sighed.
"When last you were on Mandalore my beloved and I shared a night of passion believing it to be the last we'd ever have." Qui-Gon nodded remembering the sadness that saturated around Obi-Wan during the return journey from that mission.
"What neither of us knew at the time was that the Force had other plans for us." She explained before she left the screen this time and returned a moment later holding Harrier in her arms once more.
Obi-Wan's jaw fell at the sight of the babe in his beloved Duchess' arms.
"Is that…?"
"Allow me to introduce Harrier Kenobi-Kryze…our son." She said, making Obi-Wan blink again as the baby slowly opened his eyes.
Obi-Wan felt his heart reach out at the little face as he gained a smile. "Hello little one." He said in elation a smile building brightly on his face.
The babe cooed at the face of his father and even smiled brighter, making Satine smile as she took one of his little hands and waved it at his father. Obi-Wan chuckled as he waved back. Qui-Gon allowed this to happen for a few minutes before clearing his throat making the young parents look towards him.
"Sorry." They said together while Harrier gave a little giggle.
"What exactly can we do to help?" Qui-Gon asked.
"Earlier today my sister and three others tried to assassinate Harrier." Satine said before she told the pair the story of what had happened just a couple of hours ago.
"Harrier is no longer safe here." She finished making Qui-Gon nod.
"You wish for Harrier to come be trained as a Jedi to keep him safe, and to allow him to learn to protect himself from other Mandalorians that may attempt to kill him." He said, making Satine sigh as she hugged her boy close.
"Yes, Master Qui-Gon." She said, making the elder nod.
"Will the Jedi order allow this?" She asked.
"There have been instances where a Jedi brings their own child into the order especially if they are in danger. I can't guarantee Obi-Wan will be allowed to be a full father figure, but Harrier would be safe here. Also, since he is a baby, none could argue against allowing him in." Qui-Gon explained, making her sigh slightly in relief.
"We'll be there to collect the little one as soon as we are granted permission." He explained making Satine nod.
"In danger this child is?" Master Yoda asked Qui-Gon while inside his private chambers.
"He's already had to use his connection in the Force to save himself and his mother from an assassination attempt. From his own Aunt in fact. His mother fully believes…and I concur…that others will try again." The human master said to the trio of master's before him.
When Qui-Gon has requested a meeting for a possible mission request Master Mace Windu and Master Dooku requested to join them.
"Mandalorians are notorious for killing off force sensitive children born to their clans. Many are seen as a stain on their honor. Kenobi's son needs our protection and training if he is to live to adulthood." Dooku said, making the Grand Master and his second in command nod in agreement.
"Kenobi won't be allowed to raise him." Windu said, making Qui-Gon sigh, remembering saying much like that to Satine.
"Question that decision I do." Master Yoda said making the trio of humans look at him in question. "Opportunity presented this does. Some time it has been since a child was born of the order." Master Yoda added, making Dooku think about it.
"You wish to see if it would be possible to allow Jedi to raise their children?" He asked Yoda.
"If people outside our order saw us raising our own children…it would make them less reluctant to allow us to raise and train their children." Master Qui-Gon said, catching on with the Grand Masters thinking.
Master Windu sighed but nodded. "Very well, however Kenobi should not be the one to train the boy." He mentioned making the group nod before Qui-Gon left with permission to go and gather the son of his Padawan.
"He has your smile." Satine said with a smile of her own when she first placed her son in his father's arms.
Obi-Wan had a bright smile on his face as he looked down at the babe in his arms. Said babe was clutching a finger in his tiny hand trying to bite the limb.
"And your eyes." He said to Satine as she raised a hand to run through the tuff of black hair atop of their sons' head.
"The order has granted me permission to raise him when I'm not on mission or in my studies." Obi-Wan said to her, making her smile as relief flooded her body.
"Though those studies now include time in the nurseries to learn more about childcare." He added with a bit of sass in his tone making her chuckle.
"There's my love. Hidden under all that prim and proper Jedi armor." She said, making Obi-Wan smile towards her before Harrier started to fuss.
"Oh, first lesson my love. Mealtimes." She said taking Harrier back before she moved her light clothing aside releasing a single breast. A moment later Obi-Wan watched his son in fascination as he drank his mother's milk.
"Why Harrier?" He asked after a moment of silence. "I don't remember you being a big fan of raptors." He added making Satine chuckle as she felt her son tug at her nipple.
"Harrier is the name of a warrior of legend. Long ago a foundling rose through the ranks of Mandalor after living the earliest days of his life as a gladiator slave. With time and patients, he brought about the mindset of honor and duty above all that Mandalorians once held. Back before conquest became our way.
Eventually Harrier of old gained the name Mandalore the Just, and to this day is considered one of the greatest of our leaders of history. That is what I wanted to connect our son too." She explained making Obi-Wan smile with a nod.
"A warrior of justice instead of conquest. I like it." He spoke.
Qui-Gon smiled down at the little serious face that looked back up at him. "He has your defiance in him, my Padawan."
"The same defiance I inherited from you if I remember correctly." Obi-Wan said, making Qui-Gon laugh at the joke. It seemed fatherhood was all it took to make his Padawan relax and joke from time to time.
"Hello little Harry." Qui-Gon said as he shook the hand that was gripping his finger tightly.
"Harry?" Both Satine and Obi-Wan asked.
"Well, you can't expect me not to give my first grandchild a nickname, can you?" He asked the pair, making them blink but sigh in understanding after a moment.
"Are you aware that we allow guests to the temple Duchess?" Qui-Gon asked Satine after a few moments of peace, making the young ruler look towards him.
"You mean…I could come visit Harrier?" She asked, making Qui-Gon smile.
"It wouldn't be as often as we'd all like." Obi-Wan explained. "However, if you had the time to visit from time to time…no one would complain or stop you." He added, making Satine smile.
"And what of his education in our culture?!" A new voice called out making Satine sigh in annoyance before she turned to face the group of high-ranking politicians approaching them.
"I thought this day was going too smoothly." Qui-Gon groused aloud as Obi-Wan made a sound of agreement.
"In history only once has a Mandalorian been trained by your Jedi Order, and that particular Jedi left your order after completing their training to lead us. As heir to house Kryze they are next in line to one day rule us. Already the people fear the idea of Duchess Satine taking away everything about our past with her pacifist ways.
The people will rebel if their next leader is a Jetii with no knowledge of their people." The politician said, looking down his nose at the pair of Jedi before him.
"The Jedi temple happens to be one of the largest holders of galactic history. I doubt Harrier would be ignorant of his mothers' culture." Qui-Gon said his irritation was showing on his face.
"That might work for you Jetii, but we know that your Republic thinks of us as nothing but bloodthirsty savages. What guarantee do we have that the next Duke of Mandalore won't come to think the same?" The politician asked.
"How about instead of all this slandering around you just tell us your idea of solving this so-called problem?" Obi-Wan asked before Qui-Gon could continue to show his hatred of politicians and keep the argument going.
"A tutor. One chosen from among our warriors that will live alongside Duke Harrier teaching him in not only our history, but our way of combat." The politician said, making Satine growl.
"I have been trying to stop our people from being seen as nothing more than the monsters the galaxy at large sees us as! Only for my own advisors to now try and force the lessons that I will abolish on my own son?!" She demanded making the man flinch back.
"And it is for that reason your sister tried to kill the baby." A calm voice said as a pair of boots walked along the ground. The group looked like a man wearing black and red armor approached.
The armor pieces themselves were red and most of the under clothing was black. A pair of worn but well cared for black boots, and on his waist a red belt holding a pair of blaster pistols on his hips.
On their back was a spear crossed by a blaster rifle. The hint of a jetpack above his helmet. "Your sister is a strong believer in our ways. No doubt she sees the idea of a child that shares your ideals as a great threat. How long do you expect your son to live should he ever return to his people?" The man asked Satine growl internally.
She looked at the armor and saw the family crest on the right pauldron. "And what would House Wren know of House Kryze politics?" She asked/demanded of the armored warrior.
"I know that you wouldn't call the Jetii here to take the boy if you weren't worried that your sister will try again someday. What more does one need to know?" He asked Satine growl again, but she didn't argue the point.
"What is your name warrior?" Obi-Wan asked. Said warrior turned to him.
"Garth of Clan Wren." He introduced himself making Obi-Wan nod.
"Normally such a request would be denied." Obi-Wan started before he looked at Satine with a sigh.
"However, since Harrier is indeed of a royal house and may one day have to take up the role of his birth the council would side with the request of your advisors." He explained to his love who internally growled again.
"Your sister will not be the only Mando'r that will come for the boy." Garth said, making Satine look towards him.
"And the Jetii order is no longer the warriors they once were. If a well enough trained Mando'r tried in the future your sons' power alone may not give him the edge in the fight." He added making Satine and Obi-Wan look at each other in slight fear.
"Not to mention there are ways around the Force if one takes the time and money." Qui-Gon added as well.
Taking a breath Satine looked towards her son. The idea of out living him caused such a clench of her heart she was afraid it would break then and there. Reluctantly she looked back at Garth.
"You will not take him out on bounty hunts." She ordered making the politicians blink in surprise.
"Hunts will be for animals only and even then; the meat and skins are to be used for him or to feed the needy. I will not have him become a trophy hunter." She said to the armored warrior.
"Agreed." Garth said, making her nod.
"When you teach him our history you will include all of it. Not just the sides that many believe best taught to continue the ideas of war and conquest. He will know everything including the times of peace we once lived." She insisted making Garth nod.
"Agreed." Satine then looked back at her son before turning once more to the warrior.
"Finally…you will guard him as if he was your own foundling. If anything happens to make you outlive him and you could've prevented it, I will hold you personally responsible."
"Agreed to a point. I cannot control what happens once he starts his missions with the Jetii as I doubt I will be allowed to take part in them." Garth said, looking towards Qui-Gon.
"That would depend on both the council and his teacher. If they agree to allow you to aid in some way then you may, however it really depends on what type of mission it is as well." The Master ranked Jedi explained.
"Then it's settled. Garth of clan Wren will accompany Duke Harrier and train him in the ways of his people while his father and grandfather will ensure his Jetii training." The politician called out making his fellows make noises of happiness.
"Agreed." Qui-Gon said as he handed the child in question over to his parents and moved towards Garth to settle travel preparations.
A few days later Satine kissed her son's forehead. "Take care my little warrior. I will visit the first chance I get." She said to him in her native language making her son coo at her.
"I'll take care of him R'dour." Obi-Wan said to her using the word for beloved.
"I know you will." She said before reaching around the back of his head and pulling him in close to share a kiss.
"They act as if they will never wed. Does your foundling not know the rules regarding such things?" Garth asked Qui-Gon.
"It isn't something taught until one becomes a knight. Also, you have to take in the fact that she is a Duchess royalty she can't just up and get married to just anyone." He explained making Garth grunt.
"The Force is strong with him." Dooku commented as he looked at the child that was currently going through a routine health check for new initiates of the order.
"Where is his father?" Dooku asked after a moment of peace.
"He has gone off to locate Master Windu. Something about a personal request." He explained making Dooku nod.
"What can I do for you Padawan?" Mace Windu asked Obi-Wan once the pair reached his personal quarters.
"I need your help with my lightsaber skills Master." He said making Mace raise an eyebrow in question towards the human in question.
"While on our way to Mandalore as well as during the return journey I find that while I am proficient in Ataru…I can't help but feel it isn't enough." Obi-Wan explained.
"What makes you say this? If I remember correctly, Master Qui-Gon is very proficient in Ataru."
"True, but recently I've come to realize I can no longer ignore its greatest flaws." Obi-Wan answered the bald master who leaned back.
"Ataru is great for fast aggressive fighting, however it is weak to drawn out fighting and closed in fighting since it requires long sweeping movements to properly use. While it works well for Master Qui-Gon, I find the lack of defensive capabilities disheartening. More so now that I have an extra reason to make it back from each mission."
Mace gave an 'ah' at that answer since it seemed the Padawan had reached the real reason for this meeting. "So, you wish to change your lightsaber style? Why reach out to me?" Mace asked the younger man.
"You along with Master Drallig are the best lightsaber combatants in the order. However Master Drallig does not have the time to spare to help me one on one." Obi-Wan explained making Wace nod in agreement.
Cin Drallig was the temple Battle Master and knowledge holder of almost all forms of Lightsaber combat. A skill only Mace could also claim to have with the addition of having complete knowledge of form VII since he along with another created the Vaapad variation of said form.
"And what are you thinking of learning?" Mace asked the new father.
"Soresu." Obi-Wan simply said, making Mace raise an eyebrow once more but took a moment.
"And Qui-Gon will not take offense to my teaching of his student?" He asked, making Obi-Wan smile slightly.
Chapter One
"I have a bad feeling about this." Obi-Wan said as he looked out the viewport towards the main ship of the blockade they were approaching.
The now twenty-four-year-old knight looked towards his former Master. Even though he had been knighted last year Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were such a good team that they were still sent out together.
To show the change Obi-Wan had a clean-cut beard on his face that was kept close to his chin while keeping his hair short.
"Is it the mission you're thinking of, or the fact that Satine's scheduled visit is coming up and you don't want a delay of your family time?" Qui-Gon jokes, making Obi-Wan turn an annoyed look towards the elder human.
"More that I'm afraid Garth is going to convince Master Yoda to take my three-year-old out on a hunting trip." He mentioned it sarcastically. Qui-Gon chuckled at that thought.
"No, it's something elsewhere…allusive. Like something is happening behind all of this and trying to remain hidden." Qui-Gon took a moment and briefly felt what Obi-Wan mentioned.
"Don't center on your anxieties Obi-Wan. You should focus on the here and now." He said after a moment making Obi-Wan look towards him.
"This from the man who tried to baby proof the house of a thousand fountains just for his grandson's swimming lessons." He said making Qui-Gon turn his head away trying to whistle innocently.
The pair heard the quiet chuckles from the crew in the front of the ship. "Never knew Jedi were so much like the average family." The first mate commented under his breath the Jedi in question only hearing him thanks to their Force enhanced senses.
"Guess they aren't as mysterious as we were all led to believe." The navigator replied.
"Looks like Master Yoda's idea is paying off." Obi-Wan switched to Mando'a the language of Mandalore, a rare language one didn't hear off world very often.
Garth insisted that the first lessons Harrier would take were in said language along with Basic. To help both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan joined in the lessons and used the language as often as possible.
"It helps that you and I have been around one another since you were a teenager." Qui-Gon added, making the younger knight nod.
Originally many believed that Obi-Wan would continue to be a Padawan but learning he was a father truly lit a fire under his arse.
In the almost four years since Harrier…or Harry depending on whom you asked…Obi-Wan had reached an almost master level control of Soresu.
The purely defensive form fit the human perfectly to the point that Master Windu even commented that Obi-Wan symbolized the form in human flesh. That combined with facing the trials of the order had been enough to push him into knighthood.
After a moment Qui-Gon spoke. "Captain." His voice seemed to snap the crew back into place as the captain of the ship looked back towards them. "Tell them we wish to board immediately." He ordered her before she turned towards the communicator.
Soon the image of a Neimoidian wearing a red outfit and an almost crown like head piece appeared on screen.
"With all due respect the ambassadors to the Supreme Chancellor request permission to land immediately." The Captain said, making the green reptilian-like alien nod slightly.
"Yes of course. As you know our blockage is completely legal and we would be glad to receive the ambassadors." He said before the image was cut out.
"Once we've departed, contact the Chancellor and inform him of our arrival." Qui-Gon ordered the crew as the elder raised his hood to cover his face.
"Keep the shields primed as well. Just in case." Obi-Wan advised the crew making the captain nod as she reached forward to do just that so they could activate the shield with the single press of a button.
"Do you really think it necessary that they be prepared for battle?" Qui-Gon asked his former student.
"Call me paranoid if you wish but Garth has been right on a few occasions when it came to ambush situations." Obi-Wan said, making the elder nod after a moment.
Soon the robed pair entered a hallway where a silver-plated protocol droid waited. "I'm Tee Cee fourteen this way please." It said in a female voice before walking off with the pair following.
Soon they walked into a conference room. "Wait here please. My master will be with you shortly." The droid said before turning to leave the area. Once the doors closed behind the droid both men lowered their hoods and took their seats.
"What?! What did you say?!" Nute Gunray demanded of the silver droid once it reported to him and his second in command.
"The ambassadors are Jedi Knights I believe." The droid commented once more.
Gunray's second turned to him. "I knew it! They're here to force a settlement!" He called out in fear matching his leader's fear.
"Distract them…" Gunray said after a moment. "…I will contact Lord Sidious." He mentioned the name of the man behind this whole deal.
"Are you brain dead?! I'm not going in there with two Jedi!" The second in command called out before turning towards the machine still in their presents.
"Send the droid." He calmed slightly as the droid seemed to look at the pair in fear as well before moving off resigned to their duty.
Soon the pair were facing down another being. This one human wearing long black robes and hood that covered all but the lower part of their face.
"What is it?" The voice of said human demanded annoyance clear in the tone.
"This scheme of yours has failed Lord Sidious!" The second in command called out his fear overruling his sense making Gunray flinch at the action.
"The blockade is finished…we dare not go against the Jedi!" He called out. A moment later after a pause Sidious turned towards Gunray.
"Viceroy I don't want this stunted slime in my sight again!" He growled the order making Gunray flinch again as his second in command slink back from the view of their backer.
Once the Neimoidian in question was out of sight Sidious turned towards Gunray once more. "This is unexpected…we'll need to accelerate our plans." He said almost to himself in thought before issuing an order.
"Begin landing your troops!" He growled, making Gunray gulp.
"My Lord…is that legal?" He asked hesitantly, making the robbed man sneer.
"I will make it legal!" He growled again, making Gunray internally worry before he asked a new question.
"And the Jedi?" Sidious took a moment before he spoke again.
"The Chancellor should never have brought them into this. Kill them immediately." He said as Gunray nodded nervously.
"Yes! Yes, my lord! As you wish!" He stuttered out as the image of Sidious flickered and faded away.
"Is it in their nature to make us wait so long?" Obi-Wan asked as Tee Cee fourteen walked into the room once more this time carrying a tray of drinks.
"No. I sense an unusual amount of fear for something that supposably legal." Qui-Gon replied as he accepted the cup from the droid and took a drink.
"Did you feel that spike of darkness?" Obi-Wan asked quietly so the droid wouldn't be able to pick up his voice. Qui-Gon nodded his head.
"Send the signal." He replied before Obi-Wan reached into his robe pocket before pressing on his personal commlink.
Back in the Republic freighter the captain looked up when the consul started beeping red in morse code. "Blast!" She called reaching forward and pressed a single button just in time for a turbolaser to drop down and open fire.
Luckily with the shields in place the captain was able to get her crew to get the consular-class cruiser into the air.
"Republic command! This is cruiser Valiant on a diplomatic mission to Naboo! We've come under fire from the Trade Federation and have lost contact with the Jedi ambassadors we were transporting! We need assistance right away!" She called into her communicator, sending the mayday off as soon as possible before they were rocked from behind blasted by the control ships lasers.
The captain didn't know if her message would get through, but as her sight was soon filled with fire she prayed that the Jedi would get help.
Said pair of Jedi rose to their feet igniting their blades of blue and green energy. "Blast." Obi-Wan hissed as they felt the life of the crew that brought them here extinguish from this plain of existence.
Qui-Gon looked around when he heard hissing not from his former padawan. "Dioxide!" He called out making the pair take a deep breath using the Force to aid them in this instance as their lightsabers extinguished.
Outside the door two squads of B1 battle droids approached with a hologram of the Viceroy waiting. "They must be dead by now. Destroy what's left of them." He ordered before fading from view.
The door opened showing the room filled with sickly yellow gas, the B1 pointing their weapons when they saw a shadow appear. Only to relax when it turned out to be Tee Cee.
"Oh! Excuse me!" She called as she moved on by them. One of the droids with a yellow circle on their chest and yellow painted on the back of their head showing they were a commander among the units motioned to another.
"Check it out corporal, we'll cover you." He ordered motioning with his blaster towards the room.
"Roger, roger." Said corporal nodded as they moved towards the door only to freeze when two lightsabers activated showing one blade of blue and one of green.
"Uh oh!" The captain called at the sight. "Blast them!" It ordered as each opened fire only for the bolts to be redirected towards the droids in question.
Qui-Gon jumped out slashing as he went while Obi-Wan walked out swinging his blade around him in a tight circle reflecting every bolt back while Qui-Gon continued to destroy the droids.
"What is going on down there?!" Nute Gunray called out when the camera they were watching everything on went up in smoke.
"We lost the transmission sir!" One of the technicians called back.
The pair of Jedi moved through the hallways, Qui-Gon showing off his aggressive style while Obi-Wan continued moving with grace and elegance. "I hate being right!" He called once they reached the bridge door.
Qui-Gon didn't answer as he stabbed into the door and started cutting in a circle. Obi-Wan stood ready to defend. The pair looked at one another when they heard the blast doors closing.
"Not one word." Qui-Gon groused before stabbing his blade into the center of the door this time.
As the doorway continued to melt Obi-Wan paused when he heard mechanical beings rolling their way. A second later two rolling droids came into view.
"Master! Destroyers!" He called for Qui-Gon to remove his blade and turn to help him block and reflect the blasts from said droids. The droids had blue bubbles around them taking the blasts making Obi-Wan curse.
"They've shield generators!" He called out as he continued to block.
"It's a standoff! Let's go!" Qui-Gon called before the pair left in the area in a flash of Force Speed. Both heading into the nearest ventilation shaft to escape the pursuing droids.
Soon they dropped down into another hanger hidden behind supply creates. The pair moved before they saw a new sight. "Battle droids?" Qui-Gon questioned as the pair saw the hanger entirely filled with B1 droids.
"It's an invasion army." Obi-Wan commented finishing his former masters' thoughts.
"This is a bold move for the Trade Federation." Qui-Gon said in thought. "Let's split up." He said, making Obi-Wan sigh as he gave him a pointed look.
"Really…now screams the time to split up?" He complained in a low tone so none of the machines would pick up his voice.
"If we stow aboard different ships we can sabotage the droids inside to buy the Naboo more time." Qui-Gon said giving Obi-Wan a familiar parental look that made Obi-Wan flinch slightly.
"Sorry master." He apologized, making the elder nod. "Let's go." He said before moving off to a transport ship.
Back on Coruscant Garth sat with Master Yoda the pair enjoying some tea all while a training exercise took place nearby. "Blasted little trog!" A teenage padawan called in annoyance as he chased a three-year-old.
Said toddler had a head of messy black hair, a pair of green eyes, and a scar above his right eye of a lightning bolt. He wore a light tan tunic and pants set matching his father, while wearing a pair of moccasin shoes.
"Got to admit…I never would've thought of this as endurance training." Garth said his helmet nearby as he watched his foundling charge continue to run around the hedge maze-like training area.
The toddler was using his size to avoid four teenage humans all of whom had been ordered to capture him without using their force powers. "No one that haven't spent time with children would have." Yoda said in his backwards way as the pair continued their leisure.
Harry chuckled in joy as he slid past the open legs of the slowest and largest male teen making him curse. The toddler rose to his feet and jumped over the hedge using only the barest amount of the Force.
"Mandalorian is strong in him it is." Yoda commented, making Garth smile.
"Indeed. You'd never guess he was the son of the pacifist leader of Mandalore." The elder Mandalorian said as he watched his charge use a nearby stone to avoid capture once more.
Nearby a fifth teen watched the others run a chase around the toddler; she was the only female among them. She watched in both fascination at the sight of the teens unable to capture and slight annoyance that none of said teenagers had listened to her idea of how to handle the situation.
The four thirteen-year-old boys had been chasing the toddler for almost two hours and all of them were beginning to show their fatigue. Eventually the four teens fell to their stomachs panting in exhaustion. "Wow…you guys are out of shape." The well-educated toddler taunted not even breathing heavily.
"Harry, are you hungry?" The remaining teen asked, making him look towards her.
Unlike the others this teen wore decorations on her clothing. Mainly in the adage of a spiked collar, leather braces on her wrist, and her hair up in spikes that were bubblegum pink.
Harry looked at her with a tilted head. "My name is Nymphadora Tonks, but I prefer Tonks." She said as she motioned to the blanket she was sitting on. Harry looked at her in suspicion but slowly approached.
Garth and Yoda both raised their eyebrows at the sight of Harry moving to join the punky styled teen.
"Well what do you know? A teenager that can use their brains." Garth commented, making the elder grandmaster snort into his cup.
Tonks sat offering a plate of sandwiches and a cup of juice. Harry accepted the food and drink as he sat beside the teen who joined him in the meal.
"And in a single act Padawan Tonks reveals the purpose of this exercise." Garth and Yoda looked to see Jedi Master Tera Sinube walking down the steps, his cane in hand and a smirk on his face.
The aged Cosian master had agreed with master Yoda on the idea of using a youngling to help a few teenagers build stamina. While also using the exercise to test their minds as well. The famed investigator liked to use such exercises to see if there were others among the Jedi that could potentially follow in his footsteps.
"I thought the point was to catch the little brat?" One of the male teens groused as he and the others rose to their feet.
"If you remember, the point was to see if you could find a way to collect Youngling Kenobi. I never said how you were to go about that." The elder said before motioning towards Tonks.
"Padawan Tonks accomplished her mission by waiting and observing her quarry. Thus using less energy and bringing about a peaceful resolve. Two things important to many Jedi investigations." He explained making the male Padawans grumble as they were dismissed back into the main building of the temple.
"Well done Padawan." Master Sinube said as he approached Tonks and Harry.
"Thank you Master." She spoke to the Cosian master.
"Continue your meal, then take the day for yourself as you see fit." He said to her, making Tonks nod as he moved off.
He approached Yoda with a smirk and deftly caught the small coin purse floated towards him before he left with a smirk. "So Harry, do you have any hobbies?" She asked the toddler, making him smile.
"Blasted droids!" Obi-Wan muttered in annoyance as he shook off his sopping robes.
The large brown over robes were left on the ground while he checked his weapon, slightly proud of himself for asking for help in waterproofing it before this mission.
Then again the fact that Harry once spilled an entire glass of his favorite blue juice on the weapon making it short out once helped with that decision.
Thinking it better to just continue without the heavy robe weighing him down, Obi-Wan left. He wasn't surprised moments later when he came across his former master with yet another stray following behind him.
"Who's your friend?" He asked as he approached making the aquatic looking being jump at the sudden sound of his voice.
"A local." Qui-Gon simply said before motioning for them to be off.
"Did you destroy the droids?" He asked, making Obi-Wan nod.
"Yes, but it wasn't going to help as much as we hoped. They have thousands more." He explained making Qui-Gon sigh.
"More! More did youse say?!" The 'local' called out in fear behind the jogging pair.
"Exsqueeze me! But the safest place would be Otoh Gunga! Tis a hidden city!" He called making the pair of Jedi pause and look back at him.
"A city?" Qui-Gon asked, making the being nod.
"Can you take us there?" He asked, making the being suddenly look nervous.
"Uh…on second thought? No. Not really no!" He explained shaking his hands showing his fear.
"No?" Qui-Gon questioned his annoyance showing once more.
"My afraid my been banished…my forgotten. The bosses will do terrible things to me. Terrible things if I going back there!" Explained the floppy eared being.
"Would you prefer to take your chances with the droids?" Obi-Wan asked, making the being turn towards him. "I mean after all. There are thousands of them moving around these swamps on their way to the Naboo cities. I'm sure you can avoid being crushed, blasted, grinded into oblivion, or dissected if captured." The younger human pointed out making the being flinch at each option.
"Yousa point is well seen. This way! Hurry!" He pointed out leading the way.
"Oh mesa Jar Jar Binks!" He called back, finally telling Obi-Wan his name.
"And how did you get saddled with Jar Jar?" Obi-Wan asked Qui-Gon as they ran.
"I had the fortune of running away from a troop transport with the local wildlife. Our guide was going the wrong way and jumped onto me forcing me to fall to the ground saving his life…and invoked a Life Debt." He explained making Obi-Wan sigh.
"I really hope Harrier doesn't pick up your habit of picking up strays." He said making the elder Jedi give him a look of exasperation. Eventually they arrived at a wide lake.
"How much further?" Qui-Gon asked as they jogged up.
"Wesa goin' under water okiday? My warning you…Gungans no like outsiders so don't expect warm welcome." Jar Jar said, making Obi-Wan snark.
"Oh don't worry. This hasn't been our day for warm welcomes." He said as he and Qui-Gon both pulled out their rebreathers from their belts.
Jar Jar called out in excitement as he dove into the way. As the two humans walked into the lake Jar Jar resurfaced.
"Yousa follow mesa now okiday?" He said before dunking his head down once more. The pair followed behind the silhouette of the aquatic being as the water got more and more murky.
That is until they swam past a cliff suddenly filling their view with bright lights. Obi-Wan was amazed at the sight of the bubble-like structures as they approached; he also saw the life inside each city. Jar Jar approached one of the bubbles before simply walking past the membrane looking walls. The Jedi hesitated for a moment before they walked in as well, walking past the shield without a problem.
"So good being home!" Jar Jar called out, making every Gungan nearby turn to see the group. Many mutter in their native language. Soon they were approached by an elder Gungan atop a bipedal duckbilled mount.
"Hey yousa! Stoppa there!" He called holding a lance like pole towards them. Jar Jar gulped.
"Hello there Captain Tarpals…mesa back!" Jar Jar called.
"No again Jar Jar…this time yousa going to the bosses. Yousa in big doo doo this time!" He called as a second guard approached surrounding the banished being.
"Oh…ay yi…" He groaned before one of the guards poked him with the pole making a jolt of electricity appear showing it to be a shock pike.
"Ow! How rude!" Jar Jar called looking at the guard.
"Brilliant idea." Obi-Wan internally groused, wishing he had stayed home with his son.
That's all for now I hope you enjoyed it.
Ja Ne!
