CHAPTER 4

We boarded the Hogwarts Express. We were sitting together with Hermione and Neville in the train. They were looking exactly the same as Movies. And already there was some kind of Academic rivalry between Lily and Hermione starting where each of them were trying to prove that they were Know-It-All. While just randomly speaking about Birthdays just to see who was the older person of us, I had to come up with a fake birthday date for me. Lily told everyone present that she does not know when is her birthday. But it was unexpected when Neville told he was born on August 1st, 1980 because I knew in canon he was born 2 days earlier. And he said that his parents were perfectly fine.

After reaching Hogwarts, it was time for the Sorting ceremony. And this is where I knew I had to be a little careful because the sorting hat could look into memories. I anyway had practice meditating and I was trying to do some breathing exercises to block all thoughts from my mind, so that it wouldn't look into my memories of another world.

Lily looked at me and spoke, "Hi Kal, I wish both of us get into the same house, so we can be together".

"Let's hope Lily, but nobody can predict what will happen".

"Yeah Kal. Also one more thing if you observed or noticed Harry Potter. Why does it feel like he has the same eyes like mine?"

Huh! Where did this come from? I looked back at Harry and could see what she meant. Both of them were having very identical Blue eyes. Of course if this was the Movie Universe, then Harry would have blue eyes instead of green. No idea why Lily's were similar.

"Next Up is Lily Prince", Minerva called after Harry was sorted to Gryffindor. I could see that Snape (who was looking just like in movies) was giving her a strange look. And Harry was also trying to pay attention to her. On placing the hat on Lily's head, it began to speak, "My my, deep inside you do have cunningness but your bravery outweighs it. So better be in GRYFFINDOR!".

She was very happy, she waved at me and went to her house table. Next my name was called and I started to block my thoughts. When the hat was placed on my head, it began to frown, "You are such a secretive person and I can't sense your thoughts properly. With what I am able to see, your sense of Self-preservation dominates your bravery and intelligence even though you are a loyal person. So better be in SLYTHERIN!".

I was shocked because I was not expecting Slytherin. I was expecting Ravenclaw. Of course, I was scared living in this dangerous world and I had no intention of putting myself at risk. Didn't expect that I would be sorted to Slytherin because of that. I went to my House Table and I could see Lily already feeling sad. I just gave her an apologetic smile.

We were each taken to our respective dormitories. I was dormmates with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. Inside the dorm, we began introducing ourselves. Draco asked, "So Kal tell us about your heritage and your blood status".

I just gave him a blank look, "I lived in the Muggle world and everyone I knew could not use Magic".

He put a condescending stare, "So you are a Mudblood then! You're not special like us. You are desecrating our House Name already. At least your friend is a Prince and is a Half-Blood. She would have made a better Slytherin instead of you". Crabbe and Goyle were also giving the same expression.

Okay now I was irritated. I replied, "Maybe I am a Muggleborn. But I don't see why it makes that much of a difference in terms of Magical power".

"We are automatically stronger than you because of our blood", Draco replied with a smug grin.

"Oh yeah? Dumbledore is a half Blood and he is the strongest wizard. According to your logic he should really not be that strong. So, I don't see how you guys are better by default".

Draco was angry and replied, "Then let us prove it to you that we are better than you. Come, Crabbe and Goyle, let us discuss matters which are meant only for people like us". They left and went to the common room. And so began my time in Slytherin where people would purposefully ignore me just because they thought I am a Muggleborn. And I preferred staying alone, so I didn't bother speaking with anyone.

The next day I spoke with Lily and convinced her that we could still meet whenever possible and go to common classes. Classes were going fine until it was time for Snape's class. Me and Lily were sitting together. Snape already began picking on Harry, but stopped midway when he saw us.

Severus Snape didn't know what he was feeling looking at a Slytherin Boy and Griffindor Girl sitting together. It was bringing back nostalgia and memories long gone. He could feel himself becoming emotional. Oh, how much he could wish that he could go back to that time with Lily Evans. He would give anything for that, even if situations were reversed where he was the Muggleborn and Lily was Halfblood.

Observing the young girl in front of him, Snape could definitely see some of his Family's features in her. No doubt she was a Prince and someway related to him. But looking at her eyes was making him catch his breath. For there was no doubt, it was Lily Evans' eyes which her son also inherited. How this was possible was beyond his understanding. Add to the fact that this girl was named Lily and it was making his emotions go haywire. Snape asked Lily some questions and she was able to answer most of them while Hermione had answers to everyone of them. But surprising to most people, Snape didn't try to belittle her and started giving her the preferential treatment which he gave the Slytherins. And that began adding to Lily's trouble, as people became slightly distrustful of her. And the Golden Trio (Harry, Hermione and Ron) was on top of that list, because they always doubted Snape and felt that he was strict on them while lenient towards Lily.

And so our first year ended like that with negligible interaction between us and the Golden Trio!
