CHAPTER 5

We were starting our Second Year at Hogwarts. Me and Lily rarely met Harry, Hermione and Ron. So I assumed the events of the first movie happened as it should without our interference. As far as our classes were concerned, everything seemed fine. Me and Lily used to study together mostly and occasionally had group studies with our Ravenclaw classmates. We were in the top 5 of our class Academically with Hermione being the obvious first.

I didn't anyway remember about the plot, so I was just enjoying my experience at Hogwarts without giving a care about anything. So one day Lily and me were discussing something related to studies when all of a sudden she stopped speaking.

"Kal, do you hear this ominous voice"

"Voice? Sorry, what voice are you talking about".

"I am hearing this voice saying Come to Me! Blood! Let me Kill you! Kill!"

Huh!. Before I could think further, she grabbed my hand and dragged me out with her to an area where a lot of water was on ground. Harry, Hermione and Ron were there along with many students. There was an inscription already on wall with blood "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, Enemies of the Heir….Beware!"

Filch also came there, saw his petrified cat, and started the Drama blaming Harry. Dumbledore came, saw the inscription on the wall and asked all students except us Five to go back to their dormitories, Dumbledore told that the cat was just petrified but Argus was blaming us Five and was insisting some punishment.

So some days went by and a student named Colin got petrified. Then on following day, we had a joint DADA (Defence against Dark Arts) class with Snape and Gilderoy. There Draco and Harry were paired with each other. After some display of spells, Draco conjured a snake which was slightly violent and was about to attack a nearby student. Harry suddenly started to speak with a Hissing sound and the snake stopped the attack and was looking at him calmly. Snape destroyed the snake but still people were looking at Harry in shock, probably because they didn't know he can speak parseltongue.

After the class was over, Lily spoke to me, "Well, I am surprised that the snake calmed down after Harry asked it to not attack anyone".

"You understood what Harry was speaking?", I was shocked. She just nodded her head. I couldn't believe she was also a Parselmouth.

Time was passing fast. We completed our 2nd year and 3rd year. And since we were never together with the Golden Trio, we were never in any danger or in the fights. So, I guess the events happened as they should without any major deviation. Currently it was the holidays before our 4th year started. I could only remember one fact about Goblet of Fire, the Yule ball. I was just thinking whether we could bunk showing up at the Yule ball, or if I were to participate, whom to ask for the ball.

We were at our home and doing usual stuff. We recently found a Pensieve in the underground basement. I was just playing around by removing some of my unimportant memories and viewing it in the Pensieve along with Lily.

"Kal, I was wondering something. This locket has always been with me. Do you think there might be something hidden in this locket from my parents?"

"I am not sure about that, but if you want I can try the Revelio Charm on it". On using the Revelio charm on the locket, it opened. Inside we could see some kind of memory strands and a paper. I took the memory strands out and put them in the Pensieve. Looking at each other, we both put our heads inside the Pensieve to see the memories.

*MEMORY START*

It started with showing 2 girls, one with red hair and other black hair having some kind of a quarrel. Then there was a boy with black hair who came out of his hiding and caused the girl with black hair to be scared. I immediately realized that this was like Snape's memories from Deathly Hallows. The scene kept on shifting showing both Lily Evans and Snape being sorted into Gryffindor and Slytherin respectively.

The scene shifted and it started showing the incident where Snape called Lily a mudblood. It showed the end of their friendship.

The scene shifted again and this time it was different from the movies. Snape and Lily looked like they were in their 6th years. They were in some kind of a park near their home. Lily was in an angry mood and Snape was looking mostly shocked.

"Severus, what just happened. Why did I split into 2 identical people like an Amoeba. I had to obliviate my other half and she is asleep in my home."

"I am really sorry I don't know what happened Lily. You remember us experimenting with Charms like Gemino, the Doubling Charm in our 4th year. Back then nothing happened, but I don't know how almost after 2 years did this kind of body split happened. I obliviated the other me and he is also currently sleeping".

"So do you have any idea how to reverse this spell's effects?"

"No I don't have any idea if we can remerge with our other halves. I can only theorize that both halves will live separate lives and only after death of both halves will the souls recombine."

"Great! Now what are you going to do? Join the Death Eaters with your other half and hunt Mudbloods like me?"

"Lily I am so sorry,.."

"Stop, I don't wish to listen to your apologies. I can't even think how you wanted to be friends with me when you wished to join Death Eaters who were hunting people like me. How did you think I would be okay with the deaths of muggleborns and be friends with you at the same time?"

"I….., what are you going to do now?", he asked quietly.

"I don't know what to do thanks to this situation".

Suddenly Snape spoke in a determined voice, "Then come with me. We will live far away from everybody and our other halves. I am sorry Lily that I hurt you. I will not join the death eaters and I choose you. We can be together as friends just like we used to before. Please give me a chance to redeem myself".

The memory began shifting again, and the scene showed now an older Snape and Lily. But Snape's appearance was slightly different. His face and body were deformed.

Lily was speaking, "I am sorry Sev. All this happened because I insisted we fight the war against Voldemort. We were living happily in America as Wandmakers Augustus and Irene Prince using polujuice. I brought us back to Britain because I couldn't bear slaughter of innocent Muggleborns. You came back with me and if we stayed in America, this wouldn't have happened".

"It's okay Lils, this deformation is my fault. We fought Voldemort and his death eaters discreetly and just barely made it out alive these 3 times. It's my fault that I created this potion derived from Polyjuice which would give me Voldemort's abilities, but I didn't realize that this transformation will be permanent. Now my body will be permanently fused with his flesh and blood. Will you still Love me even though my body will have part of him with me".

She replied while smiling, "Always".

The memories were shifting again and the scene now showed a Muggle hospital. Lily was holding a small baby girl and looking at her lovingly while Snape was standing beside her.

"Sev, Look how beautiful she is. 30th July 1980, her birthday will always be special to us. Are you sure we should name her after me?", she asked Snape.

"Yes. You are the most important person to me, and I can't find a more fitting name for our daughter than Lily Prince".

Lily began playing with the girl, "Lily Prince it is then. I am honestly scared Sev, on what will happen because of this war. I don't want anything to happen to our daughter".

Snape replied, "Nothing will happen to our daughter as I have taken counter-measures. I have already placed majority of our money in Gringott's bank and gave the key to Ollivander so that he can give her just in case something happens to us. I have also spoken with some of our colleagues in America, so that they can take care of her in worst case scenario".

The scene shifted again and this time it showed the house we were in but covered with Fiendfyre. Lily was holding her baby daughter. She was crying and speaking, "Sorry Lily for putting you in this situation. I have healed the bleeding on your left hand caused by the spell Voldemort used to harm you, but the scar will remain. Your father is currently fighting against Voldemort, but I fear he won't be successful. This locket which is around your neck has a Portkey in it which can allow you to teleport here again along with some of my memories. I am sending you to our colleagues in America as it is not safe here in Britain anymore for you. By the time you come here, we might not be alive. Wherever you are, grow up to be strong but still be kind. Papa and Mama will always love you.".

*MEMORY END*

The memories finally ended and it was honestly a lot of information to take in. When I saw Lily's face, she was visibly shocked and then began crying in anguish.
