Finally, having all the information he needed regarding the last Cyber Planet key and such, Optimus called for a base wide meeting. They needed to make a plan to get to the point in space where the wormhole would appear and they needed to do it soon or they may never save the universe from the black hole. Optimus silently sighed, his two missions meant too much work alone. He thought about asking a few Autobots to carefully "guard" Lancex so that Optimus could focus more on other mission of closing the black hole. He would select three of his most capable warriors and speak to them after the meeting.
Soon, all bots that were present at the earth bound base were in the large gathering room. Many wondered what was going on while a handful had at least some idea of what the meeting would be about. All were quietly talking when Optimus arrived. "My fellow bots, thanks to Lancex we now know not only where the last Cyber Key is located but also, thanks to Vector Prime, we know where planet is located."
The assembled bots were in awe. "We know where the last key is?" Jetfire asked.
"Yes, but in order to get there, we all need to take a special injection to prevent our minds being separated from our bodies" Optimus stated with all bots except Jetfire nodding in agreement. "We prepare to leave tomorrow. Every bot must be ready. Now, that being said, I want to talk to Landmine, Scourge, and Jetfire, the others are dismissed."
Soon, all bots except Jetfire, Landmine, Scourge and Optimus left the gathering area. "Why have you singled us out, Prime?" Scourge asked.
"Something concerning has been revealed to me regarding Lancex Prime. During our mission for the Planet key, I want you three to carefully guard Lancex. Don't let him know, make it as covert as possible, for if he knows he will push you away and leave himself vulnerable" Optimus instructed.
"May we ask why he needs this?" Landmine asked.
"All I am willing to say is that it is a medical issue I am not at liberty to discuss. Are we clear?"
"Yes, sir" all three quickly answered. Unknown to the other three, Scourge was going to use this as an opportunity for Evac, Hotshot, and himself to get to know Lancex even better. Scourge would have to play it smart, he knew, or he could also blow things if Optimus even suspected the dragon bot wanted to more than a guardian to Lancex.
