A/N: Hello everyone! It is been a long time since I wrote a fanfic crossover story. So this is a new one and I hope that you all like it.
The Wings Of A Man That Revived Hope
Prologue
Prussian blue-colored eyes came to light as a young man finished offering his prayers. Meeting the gray surface of the tombstone made of concrete, his gaze fell on the yellow flower that he placed there earlier. His face turned solemn for a minute before reverting it to its usual demeanor; calm and stoic.
The man, who appeared to be somewhere around between 24 and 28 years of age, slowly stood up from his crouching posture with his eyes still fixated on the tombstone in front of him before diverting them to the scenery that surrounds him.
A scene of a seemingly endless sea of tombstones.
He surmised it was a typical feature in traditional Japanese graveyards. He had been a frequent visitor of this particular cemetery for a few days now and yet, it still left an impression on him. For someone with foreign origins, the man couldn't help but take this scenery fully with his senses.
If it invoked any particular emotion inside him, his face masterfully did its best to not show it. A gentle gust of breeze came to him, touching the bare skin of his right cheek making his brown-colored hair and the collar of his light blue coat flutter.
Why was he in this kind of place?
If someone would ask him for an answer then he could say that it was because of a vague memory of a little girl and her puppy that he had met in the past...
Or was it?
Was it him?
Did that memory was his own? Or perhaps...
He left a sigh as he caught himself spiraling towards the act of overthinking things, again. For some time now, he would always get caught up on thoughts that were swirling inside his mind.
Maybe it was just a side effect on how he was brought into this world, his upbringing.
"There is so much to humanity than meets the eye... and for that reason, I am doing this."
He could still remember that person's words clearly in his head as if it was spoken to him just yesterday.
That person is a firm believer in humanity. Even until the day he died, he was very adamant about his beliefs on humanity's hidden potential. That despite their fatal flaws, there were still redeeming characteristics about them.
Diligence balances inactivity brought by sloth.
Temperance keeps gluttony in check.
Patience pacifies wrath's intensity.
Chastity purifies carnal desires perpetrated by lust.
Charity allows avarice to sleep through benevolence.
Kindness and humility make both envy and pride take a step back through compassion and reverence.
It was these characteristics that made that person hold on to his undying belief that humanity is worth saving despite how unruly and ruthless they are.
Seven virtues, the man with Prussian blue surmised, tucking both of his hands inside his pants' pockets before slowly traveling on the cobblestone pathway underneath his feet. He had been in this place since morning offering prayers to the dead, hoping that they can find peace in the afterlife.
The word peace is an integral part of him. He was mesmerized by that idea that he became enamored by the thought of it. He is an advocate of such a concept that he became a firm believer of it.
Can he be described as someone who will fight in the name of peace?
If he was given the option to answer then he would certainly say "yes."
For the word peace in itself always reminds him of that person...
He stopped as he managed to step out from the cemetery's gates, his eyes scanning the view of a certain town in Kyoto as his collar fluttered once again as the soft gust of wind brushed against his stature.
The town in front of him was quiet. That was the impression he came up with after living in this place for almost a month. Of course, he knew that it was too early to give such a statement after living here only for a month. Because even if the said place is quiet and peaceful, there are still dark powers hiding in the shadows causing a disturbance, if not, minor interference in the lives of the inhabitants of this place.
Still feeling the cold gustiness of the wind brushing against his face, the brown-haired man with Prussian blue eyes began to walk once more while his eyes keep scanning his surroundings. He continue to do this for a couple of minutes until he came to a halt for a second time, his eyes that once were Prussian blue were now brimming in a jewel-like brilliance like how light reflects upon a sapphire gemstone.
"■■■■... what should I do...?", he spoke to no one in particular.
For a moment, he stood there as if he was frozen in place before raising his head an inch.
"I see. If that is the path then I...", he spoke again. If one could witness this odd behavior of his, one would say that the man has a few screws loose inside his head.
But for the Prussian blue-eyed man, this self-talking was a necessity...
*FWIP*
With an instant sound akin to a mechanical one, four white feathered wings came out from his back making a bunch of white feathers float in the air, dancing through the tune of the wind.
*FLAP*
Another sound echoed as the wings flapped themselves, lifting the man from the ground towards the sky in a short span of seconds. Then with another flap, the man then went flying through the skies as if he was a white bird himself.
