Hello! This is just a heads-up that I'll be uploading a few chapters in quick succession for a few days, since I'm going to be busy with a couple of things soon.
I think I'll be able to finish up until the indoor training activity soon, so I hope y'all are satisfied with that for a while.
I'm taking all your reviews into consideration, and with regards to what Izuku's quirk can and can't do, what you think it can do, is probably going to be possible, I just haven't thought of it yet. So if you see something similar to an object mentioned in your review being in the story at some point, think of it as me using that as inspiration!
And as for Izuku's past, as I've mentioned in the first chapter, I'll slowly reveal all of how he does this, how he does that, type stuff as the story goes on.
Without further ado, here's the next chapter!
Chapter III: Outdoors with Uraraka (and the first day of class)
Midoriya Izuku woke up feeling strangely rested.
Checking his phone, he saw that it was halfway through six in the morning, which was a very good time to have his body clock restart on, since he was a student once again and all.
Sighing, he stood up from his bed, doing some stretches that would help him last through his workout.
Taking a swig of water, he proceeded with his routine, slowly easing himself back into it.
He made a note to himself that he'd need to do this regularly once school starts: even if he's friends with a teacher from U.A., he doesn't exactly know what the curriculum looks like, and they could do whatever they want during Hero Training. Having his body warmed up to be prepared for whatever his teachers could throw at him was an advantage that he'd probably have over his peers, since most of them probably rely on their quirks more than their bodies.
Finishing his workout at home, he grabbed his phone and some earphones from his bed, putting on some music as he jogged outside.
Since he was used to seeing this part of town either during the night or hours that are too early to be considered the morning, he looked around and admired the scenery.
The cerulean sky was tinged with a hint of dark blue, signifying that the sun wasn't fully out yet. Lazy golden rays adorned the buildings all around with shadows and light, creating a wonderful contrast that was pleasing to the eye.
He could hear some birds chirping through an earpiece, and he felt the breeze of the sea caress his figure as he passed the newly cleaned Dagobah Beach, which was courtesy of him, when he thought he could use a part of it for some physical training some time before the U.A. Entrance Exam, and two blondes. He didn't exactly remember their names, but one of them looked skinny and old, and one of them looked healthy and young. They were also using it for training, they said, so the three of them (well, two) shared their efforts into what was now a beach that was restored to its former glory.
He does remember that the young blonde was wearing a U.A. tracksuit, though, so he hopes to see him there, probably as an upperclassman, and eventually, as a fellow hero.
A few car horns snapped him out of his musings, and he had realized that he had been jogging for a bit longer than he had intended to.
Seeing that it was about a quarter hour before eight, he began walking back home, enjoying the fresh air and the music.
As he got back to his apartment, Izuku plugged in his phone to charge in his room. He then took a shower, rinsing himself of all the sweat and any other dirt that he had gotten from exercising.
Famished from the rather strenuous physical activity, Izuku walked around the streets, looking for any food places that could catch his attention.
He eventually found himself eating at a small shawarma shack, ordering and sitting in a secluded corner of the store.
He stayed on his phone for a while during his meal, taking his sweet time enjoying the early morning atmosphere.
Finally finishing his food, he paid up and walked back to his apartment.
He then decided to stay in his apartment for a little bit longer, telling Uraraka to text him when she would be on her way to where they would meet.
She agreed, and with that, he decided to chill in his bed for a few more hours.
Finally getting the text from Uraraka, he put on a hoodie, pants, and sneakers, then he hopped on his motorcycle to drive to the mall.
Parking his motorcycle and walking to where Uraraka told him where she was, he saw her familiar chestnut hair bobbing in the distance, her face seemingly looking around for him. Waiting until he knew for sure that she could see him, he raised his hand, which was enough to turn her attention towards him. Wearing clothes that were just as casual as Izuku's were, Uraraka saw Midoriya's hand and began skipping towards him.
"You're here on time. I barely ever had friends back then that were on time when we were supposed to meet," she said with a pout.
"Well, yeah, I wasn't even doing anything. I was just waiting," said Izuku.
"I don't think we should do anything, anyway. Let's enjoy the time we have before school starts!" said Uraraka, a smile forming on her face.
"Which is, like, 12 hours?" replied Izuku, eliciting a small laugh from Uraraka.
"Hey, don't remind me. I still have to sleep early later," she said, hitting him on the arm.
"Hey, I do too. Anyway, where do you wanna go?" he asked, which prompted her to start looking around.
"Let's grab a bite to eat and walk around, get to know the city better, yeah? We're going to be here for a long time, won't we?" she offered.
"Sure, sounds good to me," he answered with a smile, and then the both of them started to walk off together.
Uraraka instantly ran towards the first place she saw that was selling mochi, which, luckily, was also serving sushi. As the two of them ate, they talked about what they were expecting from their classes, and the two of them wondered what their classmates and their quirks would be like.
"I've heard we were going to have some really powerful classmates in 1-A. Some from already established Hero Agencies," said Uraraka, before putting a roll of sushi in her mouth.
"Oh? How so?" asked Izuku. He already knew who they were, since Todoroki took a recommendation slot from him, and the last name Tenya rang a bell.
"Apparently, Endeavor's son is there. And did you see the guy in second place? He got second place just through villain points!" exclaimed Uraraka, cheeks still somewhat full.
"Yeah, our class probably has some insane quirks," he said, absentmindedly sipping on his iced tea.
"And you! I've been meaning to ask you, what's your quirk! It's probably insane too, right?" she asked him, finishing up her glass of cola.
"I'll tell you later. I don't think using our quirks in public is a good thing. Shall we go?" he told her, standing up from his seat.
She nodded and stood up as well, following him to the counter.
As the two of them finished up, Izuku paid (he and Uraraka both insisted firmly, but Izuku ended up winning the battle of attrition) and led Uraraka to the parking lot, where he offered to drive the two of them around town. After a bit of sightseeing, Izuku had taken them to one of his favorite spots in town, Dagobah Beach, he sat down on one of the walls near the entrance, and Uraraka took the spot next to him.
"Wow, this is a nice place. Wasn't this a garbage dump before or something?" she asked him, munching on some mochi she had brought from earlier.
"Yeah, it was. Some people cleaned it up, I passed them every now and then when I would jog past here, so I figured I'd help them out when I could," said Izuku, not really wanting to take credit for the whole thing.
Uraraka paused for a moment, looking at the guy she was sitting next to.
"You're a really good guy, you know?" she said, poking him in the cheek.
"You'd probably do the same," he answered back.
She let out a small giggle.
"Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. Who knows?" she shrugged her shoulders.
"Oh yeah! I've been meaning to ask you, what is your quirk? I know it's probably not super strength or something, right? No way you had that grenade in your pocket or something," she asked. She's been speculating about it ever since she saw he got first on the exam.
"Oh, right. My quirk's called Pocket. Lets me make anything I know the structure and mechanism of, as long as it can fit in my hand, and it isn't alive," said Izuku, snapping his fingers, a blue light showing between them, which eventually formed itself into a 5 yen coin that looked exactly like the ones used in Japan's circulation.
"Damn, that's really handy! But, can you really just make things that can fit in your hand?" she asked, unknowingly making a joke.
Izuku gave it a little chuckle. She was a cute girl. She deserved the laugh.
"Well, when it first manifested, The only places I could feel my quirk from were my hands. Maybe sometime in my life I'll be able to make things from other parts of my body, but for now, I'm fine with just my hands," replied Izuku.
"Well, that makes sense to me," said Uraraka, satisfied with his answers.
"Your quirk's pretty cool too. You can make something lose gravity or something when you touch it with all five fingers, right?" he told her, looking at the little pink pads she had on her fingertips.
"Eh? How did you figure that out?" she asked, giving him a puzzled look.
"During the exam, I saw you touch some stuff, and they suddenly went up flying. Today though, I noticed that you kept touching everything only using four fingers when we were eating. I just put two and two together," shrugged Izuku.
"You're really smart, you know that? You probably studied and trained a lot to make your quirk work, no?" she told him.
"Kinda. I know you'll be able to do the things I do if you work a bit harder," he said, pinching her cheek.
She pouted.
"Hey! Not my fault my cheeks are chubby!"
He laughed a bit, and soon enough, she laughed with him.
Seeing that the sky was getting dark, he offered to drive her back to her apartment, and knowing fully well that she couldn't really turn that down, she took the lift back home.
"This was a nice day. Let's get more people to go around the city when we get to know our classmates better," said Uraraka, standing at the door to her apartment.
"Sure, that'd be nice. But maybe when we aren't busy and shit," he replied, just outside her apartment door.
"Of course, dummy. Anyway, today was nice. Take care getting home alright? Have a good night."
"Sure. Good night," he told her, running down the stairs back to his motorcycle.
Hearing her door close behind him, he drove back to his apartment, grabbing some Chinese food on the way back.
As he ate his food in peace, he thought back on his and Uraraka's little celebration.
He was kinda glad that Uraraka picked his brain, because he hadn't really talked much with a person his age for a long time.
For quite a while, he's only been talking to Eraser, Tsukauchi, and some other people he'd always run into for hero stuff.
School had also been over for quite a long time, and Izuku wasn't exactly a talker there either.
In a way, she had let him get a weight off his chest in her own way, even if he was just listening to her for a good portion of the time.
As he drifted into sleep, he wondered if he'd meet more people like her in class.
Jumping out of bed at the sound of his alarm, Izuku thought about snoozing it for five more minutes.
Aizawa would probably beat his ass if he did, so he got rid of that thought as fast as he could.
Getting through his morning exercises and his morning jog, he realized that he could just get there earlier if he showered and then ate on the train.
Picking up some bread from a nearby bakery, he ate most of it on the train while reading the news on his phone.
His quiet morning was then interrupted by some heroes who had caused their train to stop because they were having a bit of trouble apprehending this villain with a gigantification quirk.
People around him were all happy to see the heroes Backdraft, Death Arms, and Kamui Woods in action. Izuku only really paid his respect to Backdraft, since he was a rescue hero who actually put the people first, but Death Arms and Kamui weren't that bad.
The fight dragged on for a bit before some up and coming new hero called Mt. Lady came and kicked the villain in the face with her even more potent gigantification quirk.
Guess that's that.
Glad that he had a few more minutes to run to homeroom, Izuku dropped off at his stop and sprinted his way into the gates of U.A.
Seeing the door of Class 1-A, he was about to open the door to let himself in, when he noticed the familiar yellow sleeping bag of his mentor close to it.
"You're cutting it a bit close on your first day, huh?" said Eraser, looking at him from below.
"Villain stopped my train for a bit. Kamui Woods and friends took a bit longer than usual to get rid of the guy," replied Izuku.
"That's fair. Could you uhh, roll me in? Some tryhard closed the door."
"Alright, hold on."
Izuku then opened the door, alarming all nineteen of his classmates, and proceeded to get Aizawa to the front of the class, near the podium. As he took his seat, the rest of the class looked at him, sweatdropping.
They weren't sure if that was a good thing to see on the first day of class.
Getting out of his sleeping bag, Aizawa got himself out of his cocoon, drinking a small juice pouch in the process.
"I heard you bickering from outside, Iida, Bakugou. Don't make bad impressions on your colleagues," he said.
The blonde boy, who was apparently named Bakugou, merely scoffed at this comment from Aizawa-sensei, and the blue-haired bespectacled boy, which was apparently Iida, who he assumed was the brother of Ingenium, since they practically shared the same last name and quirk, began spouting speeches of apology.
"Don't apologize. Just be a better person next time. I'm Shouta Aizawa, and I'll be your homeroom teacher."
Aizawa ignored both of them, and pulled out a gym uniform from god knows where.
"Put these on and head to Ground Gamma," he said, to which everyone followed.
Izuku got changed quick enough and got there around the same time as most of the boys, and as soon as the entire class was there, he pulled out a softball from his pocket.
"In middle school, all of you were told to do these physical tests without using your quirks in any way whatsoever to determine how all of you could perform on equal ground. However, in U.A., that's going to change," he said, tossing the ball to Midoriya.
"Midoriya, how far could you toss a baseball in middle school?" he asked.
"Like, 70 something? Around that," replied Izuku, looking up in thought.
"Do that, but this time, use your quirk. Anything goes as long as you stay in that circle."
Izuku then did something that most of them didn't expect.
Since he was known to be the guy who took first place in the Entrance Exam, all of them were expecting him to show a flashy quirk with insane bursts of power or some shit.
They didn't expect him to pull out a balloon filled with helium from his hand, tie it to the ball, then just let it fly off into the distance.
Even Eraser was dumbfounded.
"Alright, I just did a quick search on how far a helium balloon can go, and apparently, it can go for about 9000 meters in the air. Are you fine with that score, Midoriya?" asked Eraser, not wanting to wait for the balloon to actually pop.
"Sure, sounds good to me," said Izuku, shrugging as he left the circle.
Still a bit culture shocked at what his trainee just did, he cleared his throat.
"Alright, anyway, that's what you're able to do when you use your quirks for tests like these. You get to know what you're truly capable of, and compared to your stay here at U.A., this is merely the tip of the iceberg," explained Aizawa, who then heard a beep from the device he uses to measure the baseball throw height.
9002.3 meters
He then showed the class the number on the device's screen.
"Woah, that's so cool! We get to use our quirks as much as we want!" exclaimed a boy with fiery red hair, who had an even more passionate attitude.
"Yeah, this looks like this'll be fun!" added a girl with pink skin, pumping her fist in the air.
"Fun? You all really think this is going to be fun? Alright. Let's raise the stakes a little. Last place in points gets expelled," said Aizawa, his expression not really changing from what he had earlier.
"Wait, you can't just do that, Sensei!" said a small boy with purple balls for hair, which was followed up by another blonde with a black streak that resembled lightning in his hair.
"Well, U.A. prides itself in the freedom it gives teachers how they want to teach, so figure that out yourself. We don't have all day, so let's get over the tests," explained Aizawa.
Suddenly, the room's atmosphere got heavier, and everyone got a little bit more nervous, apart from the people who thought that this was just a lie, or people who were confident in their abilities.
However, those two groups were pretty much the same people.
First up was the 50-meter dash.
Izuku was paired up with Ojiro, who he knew would probably use his tail to help maneuver himself towards the finish line.
Knowing that he couldn't really use his quirk for this test, he just ran like usual.
"Midoriya! 4.87 seconds! Ojiro! 5.49 seconds!" said the robot stationed the end of the finish line.
'Seems like I'm in better shape than most of these people,' thought Izuku, noticing that most of them could use their quirks to their advantage.
The only ones he saw that couldn't really use their quirks for straight up mobility were Ashido, Uraraka, and Aoyama, if you counted the fact that he can't hold that laser for long.
Well, Izuku knew that Mina could probably slide herself to the end with her acid, but for some reason, she chose not to, which probably meant she didn't know how to yet.
No reason to hide their quirks from each other, anyway.
Up next was the grip strength test.
Shoji, the guy with the mask who he remembered from the Entrance Exam, got the machine to saw 540 kilograms using his brute strength.
While that was impressive, it wasn't as high of a score as the girl in the black ponytail, who made a hydraulic press part-by-part in front of the whole class, which then destroyed the machine itself.
'Two can play at that game.'
Izuku then did the same, making the parts of a smaller hydraulic press in using both of his hands, which resulted in pretty much the same score as the onyx-eyed chick.
Next was the standing long jump.
A couple of them could properly clear the sandbox with their quirks, and some of them got far enough just using their physical abilities.
For instance, Bakugou practically flew over it with his explosions, Aoyama blasted himself through it, and Uraraka floated her way to the other end, consequently causing her a bit of nausea.
With his skillset, Izuku thought that the best he could do was to make a pole vault that could be reassembled into parts, and then vault over the sandbox.
To his satisfaction, the plan worked.
After doing the repeated sidesteps, which Izuku knew he probably did fine at, all of them were back to the ball throw.
Some notable scores were Bakugou's and Uraraka's, which were 705.2 meters and infinity, respectively.
No way Uraraka was going to get last place now.
Bakugou was shouting "DIE!" as he blasted the ball into the sky, so that was also a bit problematic.
The girl in the black ponytail was up next, and she tried a different approach to Izuku's.
She made small cannon, which, in hindsight, wasn't probably a good idea, because she had a classmate with literal earphones as a quirk.
Noticing this, Izuku stepped to her, tapped her on the shoulder, and gave her some earplugs while offering to cover her earlobes.
She shyly agreed, and thanks to his quick thinking, she didn't hurt her ears as much as she would've without any protection. [AN: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)]
"Oh my god, Jirou-san, I'm so sorry! I forgot about your quirk!" said Yaoyorozu, bowing sincerely.
"It's fine, Midoriya-san noticed," she told her, waving off her apologies.
Midoriya then went back to his usual spot in the group of people, which was beside Uraraka, who was the closest to the group of boys, and the other males, giving Jirou a small thumbs up on his way back.
After all of that was done, they had the seated toe touches and sit-ups, which Izuku was pretty confident in, since he had just limbered himself up this morning.
The long-distance run was the last event, and it pretty much was just Momo and Izuku trying to outdo each other in the end, the former using a bike and the latter using a pair of roller skates.
Took both of them a bit of a while, but eventually, Izuku's stamina won out.
Once all of the tests were done, Aizawa then pulled out a hologram which had displayed all their scores, in order of rank.
Midoriya Izuku - 1st Place
Yaoyorozu Momo - 2nd Place
Todoroki Shouto - 3rd Place
Bakugou Katsuki - 4th Place
Iida Tenya - 5th Place
Tokoyami Fumikage - 6th Place
Shouji Mezo - 7th Place
Ojiro Mashirao - 8th Place
Kirishima Eijiro - 9th Place
Ashido Mina - 10th Place
Uraraka Ochaco - 11th Place
Koda Kouji - 12th Place
Sato Rikidou - 13th Place
Asui Tsuyu - 14th Place
Aoyama Yuuga - 15th Place
Sero Hanta - 16th Place
Kaminari Denki - 17th Place
Jirou Kyouka - 18th Place
Hagakure Tooru - 19th Place
Mineta Minoru - 20th Place
Mineta began sweating profusely as Eraser called out his name.
"Mineta."
"You're not getting expelled today," sighed Eraser.
"But please, for the love of god, stop ogling your female classmates. It makes them very uncomfortable. I don't need a future rapist in my class, alright? Talk to Hound Dog about your addiction, or something," he continued, facepalming.
All the girls in the field then gave him a deathly glare.
"Y-yes sir," he said weakly.
"Bakugou, Midoriya, keep an eye on the guy. I know the two of you won't hesitate to do what's right," said Eraser, who then left to return to the classroom.
The two of them looked at each other, and then at Mineta, who appeared to be deathly scared of both of them.
"The rest of you, pick up a syllabus and get back to class. Introduce yourselves to each other, and once you finish that, it should be time for lunch, and then you can go home. Formal classes start tomorrow, anyway."
"Yes, Sensei!" said the class in unison, walking back together.
As Class 1-A got to their classroom's door and got it open, courtesy of Shouji, they saw Aizawa-sensei already fast asleep next to the podium.
"So, how do we do this?" asked Izuku, looking back at his classmates.
No one spoke up. Bakugou gave him a shrug, Yaoyorozu looked like she was going to raise her hand, but was too shy to do so, among other people.
"Let's leave him alone and just introduce each other, I'm really hungry. Let's go from left to right, starting from the front, aight?" he suggested, which was then met with answers of affirmation.
"Sure thing, Midoriya-san," said Jirou, walking past him to get to her chair.
"Sounds good to me," exclaimed the red-haired boy, who followed her in.
The rest of the class got in, and as soon as everyone was seated, the foreign-looking boy went up to the podium.
"Tell us your name, quirk, and anything else you'd like to add," said Izuku, giving out instructions to the people going first.
"Bonjour, mon ami! My name's Aoyama Yuuga, the sparkliest hero in Japan!" he exclaimed, striking a rather flamboyant pose. (I cringed just as hard writing this, don't worry.)
"My quirk is called Navel Laser, and it does exactly as the name suggests! However, I can't use it for too long, because it gives me a stomach ache if I do. Also, it goes a bit out of control if I don't have my belt to help aim it!" he explained.
He then went back to his seat, which was the cue for the person next to him to introduce themselves.
"Good morning, all of you. The name's Mashirao Ojiro, and my quirk is called Tail."
'That's a rather boring name,' thought some of the class.
"That's practically it. I have an extra limb I can use to help maneuver and strike with; to help maximize this, I began to pick up martial arts. Please take care of me."
'Makes sense that he'd do that. Wonder if I can beat him in hand-to-hand,' thought Izuku.
The man with 6 arms and a sleeveless uniform then stepped up to the podium, looking as massive as the day Izuku saw him.
"Good morning, fellow people of 1-A. I'm Shouji Mezo, and my quirk is Dupli-arms. It lets me turn the hands of my arms into other appendages, such as an eye, ear, or whatever. Good luck to us through this three years."
'Very versatile. In addition to his raw strength, he would just need some combat training and experience to be a really effective hero.'
"Hi guys! I'm Hagakure Tooru, and I like cute stuff! My quirk is Invisibility! I'm invisible, and I don't really know how to turn it off. I hope to get to know all of you well soon!" she said, giggling a bit.
"Heya! The name's Ashido Mina, and I dance a lot, so if you ever need some lessons, just ask me for them! My quirk's called Acid, and it lets me secrete acids of varying strength, viscosity, and other stuff, from my own skin! Here's to a good three years with all of you!" she exclaimed, energy as high as earlier.
"Yo! The name's Kaminari Denki! My quirk's called Electrification, and it lets me emit electricity from my body like some sort of aura! If I release enough, it lets me shock everything in a certain place, but when I do, I sort of short-circuit and become stupid for an hour or two. Let's do this shit!" he exclaim ed.
Izuku wondered how strong he would be if he got to know and control certain voltages that would be enough for incapacitating someone, or for shutting down a building, things like that.
"Hey. The name's Jirou Kyouka, and I like listening and making music. My quirk's called Earphone Jack, and it basically makes my earlobes into headphone cables. I can plug them in things, they help me hear better, and I can send the vibrations of my heartbeat to hurt something," she said, letting her earlobes extend and move around her head.
Izuku marveled at how the quirk would be insane for scouting. He thought about bringing her to Aizawa-sensei, since she could use some meat on her bones, but that was a thought for another time.
"Listen up, you extras! The name's Bakugou Katsuki, and I'm going to be the best goddamn hero there is! My quirk's called Explosion, and it basically makes my sweat nitroglycerin in the palms of my hand, which I can detonate at will."
Izuku pondered at how insane that quirk could be in combat.
Mobility, power, flashiness, all in one quirk.
No wonder his ego turned up like this.
While he couldn't really blame the boy for it, and could only blame society for giving people like him such high regard, he would need some help.
The rest of the class sweatdropped at his behavior.
"Hey! Bakugou! Don't call your classmates extras! We all deserve respect here!" said the bespectacled boy, chopping his hand in a rather robotic motion.
"What's it to you, glasses?" he bit back, glaring at the taller boy.
"Your conduct is very unprofessional and unbecoming of a hero! I cannot accept this kind of behavior in the classroom!" exclaimed Iida, standing up from his chair.
Bakugou began walking to Iida's seat.
"Woah, woah. Calm down. Let's get this over with faster, Iida, Bakugou. You can beat each other's ass outside the classroom all you want, or in training or whatever, but at least be civil here, alright?" said Izuku, getting in between the two of them.
Iida was surprised that Izuku knew who he was, but at that moment, Bakugou was a bit more than surprised.
Bakugou Katsuki was going to be a good Hero.
He knew that, and he was pretty sure everyone else did.
He had a good quirk, good instincts, and he was smarter than he let on.
Which is why he was so damn puzzled on why he couldn't say anything back to his classmate standing in between him and his first fight for the school year.
He wanted to tell him to shut up and let him give Four Eyes a piece of his mind, but for some reason, he couldn't.
There was some sort of aura around Midoriya that told him something.
He knew, that right then and there, if he had fought back to Midoriya, he would lose.
Bakugou Katsuki has never lost.
Not once in his life.
Yet he felt that he would.
The greenette's smile and aura was disarming, and he seemed like he wasn't much, but Katsuki knew that he was strong.
He was pretty sure that he was the only one who could feel this, too. Right now, at least.
He sat back on his chair, accepting his defeat.
He scoffed, resigning to just glaring at Four Eyes.
"Tch. Bastard thinks he's high and mighty or some shit," whispered Bakugou under his breath.
"Leave him alone. He's probably a rich boy. Stickler type shit. Take a chill pill," said Midoriya, handing him a piece of gum from his pocket. Bakugou quietly took it and chewed on it, a bit thankful to the guy for reigning him in. His parents have always told him he was too quick to put up a fight, and maybe this was for the better.
"Now that's out of the way, can we continue? Green girl, you're up!" he continued, pointing to the girl who was seated behind Ashido.
"Hello, my name's Asui Tsuyu, but all of you can call me Tsu. My quirk's called Frog. Lets me do whatever a frog can do, like jumping really high, having a really long tongue, things like that. Like frogs, I also end up hibernating when I'm really cold. I hope we all have a good stay at U.A. together," said Tsu, maintaining the same deadpan expression as always.
"Hey hey! Name's Kirishima Eijirou, and I gotta say, Midoriya-san, what you did was really manly! I dig manly things!" said Kirishima, to which Midoriya simply chuckled and shaked his head at.
"Anyway, my quirk's called Hardening! It lets me harden any part of my body, which increases its durability and makes it sharp!" he said, demonstrating with his arm.
"I hope to have a good time with you guys! Plus Ultra!"
Izuku knew Kirishima was also going to be a good hero.
While his quirk wasn't as flashy as anyone else's, its effectivity and straightforwardness served as both its greatest strength and its downfall.
Maybe quirks really did reflect the person.
"Heya! I'm Sero Hanta, and I like video games! My quirk's called Tape, and it lets me shoot out long streams of tape from my elbows. I can use them to swing around, tie someone up, all that cool shit," said Sero.
'Guess it's my turn now,' thought Izuku.
"Hey. Name's Midoriya Izuku. I like coffee. My quirk's called Pocket. Lets me make anything I can think of that can fit in the palm of my hand, as long as I know how it works, what it's made of, and it isn't alive," said Izuku, revealing a pocket watch in his hand.
"I can also get rid of them at will," he continued, snapping his fingers. A blue flash of light appeared, and once it was gone, the pocket watch was no more.
"This day feels like it's been really long, and I guess this is how it's going to be for the next three years. Good luck to us," he said, walking back to his seat.
"Hello, fellow students of U.A.! My name is Iida Tenya! My quirk is called Engine, which gives me engines in my calves that help me run faster! I hope that we stay together for three years and become outstanding heroes!" he said, trying to be inspiring.
Well, the class mostly just sweatdropped too.
"H-hello, the name's Koda Kouji. My quirk is called Anivoice, which lets me communicate with animals. Please take care of me," said Koda, bowing.
The quirk was niche, but useful. Izuku wondered if he'd be a better pick for long-ranged support or scouting in some situations over someone like Jirou or Sero.
"Greetings, everyone. I am Tokoyami Fumikage, and I like reading Edgar Allan Poe."
No way he just said that.
"My quirk's called Dark Shadow. It lets me summon this being from within me, and he can fight quite well. He's a shadow, though, so he's weak to light, and he gets very hard to control when it's extremely dark," said Tokoyami.
"Yo! I'm Mineta Minoru, and I'm a ladies man!"
The entire class probably cringed at that statement.
'Sure you are, shortstack,' thought Bakugou, snickering to himself.
Looking across the room, he saw that Midoriya was laughing too, along with some of the girls and Sero.
Huh.
Maybe this class wasn't so bad after all.
"My quirk's called Pop Off, and it makes my hair these purple balls that can stick to just about anything they touch, except for myself. How sticky the balls are depend on how good I'm feeling during a certain day," he explained.
"Hello everyone! My name's Uraraka Ochaco, and I like mochi a lot! My quirk's called Zero Gravity, and anything I touch with five of my fingers will lose the effect gravity has on them. I can also release the effects by pressing my fingertips together," said Uraraka.
It was a pretty neat quirk. Not your usual combat-oriented quirk that would be oriented for Hero work, but with a bit of training and creativity, she could be a very unique hero that can specialize in both rescue and combat.
"Yo! My name's Satou Rikidou, and I like baking. My quirk's called Sugar Rush, which gives me a burst of strength after I consume some sugar! Although, if I intake too much, I become simple-minded for a short period of time."
'Another quirk that makes you braindead? Damn, they need to learn to control them soon,' thought Izuku.
"Hello, my name's Todoroki Shouto. My quirk's called Half-Cold, Half-Hot. I can make fire from my left side, and then ice from my right. I like cold soba. Please take care of me," said Todoroki, who got his introduction done as fast as he possibly could.
His quirk was probably worth two quirks at that point.
He could also perfectly regulate either overheating or frostbite, which was a boon in itself.
As expected of the No. 2 Hero's kid.
Last, but not the least, there was the girl in the black ponytail which Izuku knew had a similar quirk to his.
"Greetings, fellow students of 1-A. My name is Yaoyorozu Momo, and I like drinking tea. My quirk is called Creation, which is essentially the same as Midoriya-san's: I can make anything I know the structure of from the lipids of any part of my body, their size limited to how much fat I have in my body," she said, forming some matryoshka dolls in her hand.
She also didn't really like that her quirk was based off her own fat, because she was averting her eyes with a faint blush tinged on her cheeks.
Well, I guess that's a win for Izuku.
He would wanna pick her brain sometime soon about her quirk, so that maybe the two of them could give each other some bright ideas, but that was for another time.
Maybe before the Sports Festival or something.
Seeing that everybody was done introducing themselves, Izuku got up to the front of the class to wake Aizawa up.
"Sensei. Sensei. It's time for lunch," he said, gently poking the rugged man on the face repeatedly.
Every classmate of his was somehow simultaneously shocked and terrified for him for doing this.
"H-how can he do that to someone as scary as Aizawa-sensei?" asked Uraraka, shakingly pointing towards the two.
"Maybe that's why he's first place in the Entrance Exam and in the Quirk Apprehension test. He's just got massive balls," said Kirishima, still looking at the green-haired boy who was making their homeroom teacher get up.
"People like us could only ever dream of being like him," cried Mineta, grabbing on to Bakugou.
"Hey! Leave me out of this! You're the only hopeless one here, dammit!" replied the explosive blonde, getting the runt off his shirt, which made a good chunk of the class laugh.
Eventually, Izuku succeeded, but surprisingly, the homeless-looking man didn't even exhibit any violent reaction. He just stood up straight, and walked back to the podium, rubbing his eyes in the process.
Izuku also walked back to his seat, acting like what he just did wasn't something akin to looking death in the face.
'Scary...' the class thought in unison.
"Alright, have your lunch at the cafeteria here, and then head home. Prepare for tomorrow, because you'll have Foundational Hero Studies. Don't lounge around too much, alright?" said Aizawa.
"Yes, Sensei!" said 1-A.
"Dismissed."
All of them then began to grab their bags, and then they all scurried on outside.
Midoriya, who ended up walking with Uraraka, Kirishima, and Jirou, saw Bakugou still inside the room.
"Bakugou, c'mon. Don't wanna be last in line, right?" said Izuku, knocking on the door to grab his attention.
Bakugou stood up, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. Izuku and the people with him could've sworn they saw his face light up for the first time today.
"Whatever you say, Green."
As the five of them walked towards the cafeteria, Izuku let out a sigh of relief, finally finished with today's activities.
'This is going to be a long three years with these people.'
