Chapter IV: Domination
After he had eaten lunch with Bakugou and the others, the rest of the day went by like a blur to Izuku. He and Uraraka got home, dropping off at the same station. Uraraka asked Izuku why he didn't just ride his motorcycle to school, and Izuku just told her that he was feeling kinda sleepy that morning. He then offered to bring her to school and take her home on some other day he felt like riding the bike, to which Uraraka excitedly agreed to.
There's probably no soul in this world who'd deny a free ride home, anyway.
On a good motorcycle at that.
Once the two of them parted ways, Izuku went back home to sleep for the remainder of the afternoon. Waking up to grab dinner and eat it, he got back on his bed, falling asleep once more after watching some dumb documentaries that would give him irrelevant knowledge that he would be able to retain for the rest of his life.
On the other sides of the prefecture, he was pretty sure that all of his classmates were also a bit exhausted from the day's ordeal.
Waking up just five minutes before the alarm he had set on his phone, Izuku turned it off quickly before he would end up starting the day cranky.
Getting through his routine workout and jog a bit earlier this time, he decided that he'd be fine going for some fried rice at a small place somewhere close to his apartment.
After he had found the place, he ate in peace, refreshing himself on the basic utilities he knew he'd be able to use later, like smoke grenades, flashbangs, and the like.
He began scheming in his head some plans for his classmates if ever he'd be put up against them, but he would run late to class if he had planned every little detail, so he just thought of some general plans for the moment.
'For people who fight within close range, like Kirishima, Ojirou, Satou, Denki, Uraraka, and Ashido, I would assume, I could always just abuse the environment and fuck them up with flashbangs. Should be simple enough. Kirishima probably needs a tranquilizer dart in his system or something, since I saw his quirk in the Entrance Exam, and it was pretty decent.'
'For the ones with mobility: Iida, Bakugou, Sero, Tsu, and maybe Ojirou again, I think I can just get them with tripwires if we're fighting indoors. If we aren't, then I guess I just run away with smokescreens 'til they show an opening. Maybe blast Tsu with a small fire extinguisher or something. I hope she doesn't get mad at me if I do that.'
'For the ones with range, like Todoroki, probably Tokoyami, Aoyama, Jirou, Mineta, and Kouda maybe? I could always just try using high ground so they have trouble hitting me 'til I get up close and personal. I know that with people like them, I would have a higher success rate if I fought them up close. I haven't tried using a grappling hook for a while, but I guess it'll be fine," he thought. The only one he couldn't really figure out for the moment would be Yaoyorozu, because she was an entire wild card on her own, but he would cross that bridge when he got there.
Walking back to his apartment, he took a shower and got dressed. Feeling a bit more refreshed than yesterday, he decided to ride his motorcycle to school.
Putting on his helmet, his lips curved into a smile as he felt the usual rush and wind that usually went through his body.
He's probably experienced this sensation a thousand times firsthand, but the feeling would never change.
Soon enough, he was at U.A.'s gates, looking for a spot to park at.
Thankfully, Present Mic saw him looking around, and pointed him towards the parking spot close to his car.
"Are you sure I'm fine doing this, Mic-san? There are a lot of heroes here in U.A., and I don't think they'd take kindly to me taking a parking spot," said Izuku, taking off his helmet.
"Don't worry about it, U.A. has like, eight more parking lots around campus. Besides, you're Eraser's kid, anyway, and he'd probably let you take a spot any day," replied Present Mic, giving him a pat on the shoulder.
"Alright, if you say so. Good luck on today's work, Mic-san," said Izuku thankfully, bowing his head.
"No problem, kid. Good luck to you too!"
Izuku walked to his classroom, as ready as he could ever be.
The second day was starting off rather smoothly.
English classes with Present Mic were easy enough, since he already knew the language quite a bit from reading a good chunk of it as learning material for his quirk (and from VTubers, but he wouldn't tell you that).
Math with Ectoplasm was a rather nice surprise. He didn't expect the man to use his clones to help illustrate examples and tutor some people simultaneously, but it got the job done.
After those two periods, Izuku had lunch with the same group he had been with yesterday. Some of them, like Izuku and Bakugou, ate in silence, while the rest of them discussed among each other.
"Iida-kun! I've noticed that you always speak some fancy words and are such a stickler from the rules! You're a rich boy, aren't you?" pointed out Uraraka, directing a finger at the tall boy.
"Uraraka-san, that's rude," commented Izuku, before going back to eating his katsudon.
"No offense taken, Midoriya-san, don't worry. But yes, I'm part of a well-known hero family. Are you guys aware of Ingenium, the hero stationed in Hosu with several sidekicks?" asked Iida, to which the table nodded to.
"I'm his brother, and he's my inspiration to becoming a hero! I hope that one day, I'm worthy of taking the Ingenium name!" he exclaimed.
"Oh, that's so cool! Good luck, Iida-san!" said Uraraka, giving him a little salute.
As the bell rang, Izuku had just finished his food, stomaching that extra cup of rice to give him more energy for the day.
The five of them then began walking back to class, with Izuku and Katsuki lagging behind.
"Who do you think our teacher's going to be for Heroics?" asked Izuku to the blonde.
"How the fuck would I know? Well, I thought it was going to be Aizawa-sensei for a bit, but I remembered All Might was on my projection for the exam results, so maybe it's him?" shrugged Bakugou, putting a hand to his chin in thought.
"Oh, shit, you got All Might too? That's nice," replied Izuku, looking straight ahead.
"Yeah, I think us in the top ten got him as our projection? I dunno, I overheard some redhead from 1-B say it," said Katsuki, putting his hands in his pockets.
"That makes sense to me. Well, good luck to all of us, then," said Izuku, entering the classroom.
As all of them were seated, a large figure burst from the classroom's open door.
"I am coming through the door like a normal person!" exclaimed the fast, hulking figure of All Might, cape flowing with the wind.
Seems that he and Katsuki were thinking correctly.
"Woah, it's actually All Might!"
"Damn, is that his Silver Age costume?"
"He looks so cool!"
After the compliments had died down, All Might stopped striking his pose, and got to the front of the class properly.
"Alright, good afternoon, 1-A! This is Foundational Hero Studies! Your foundations as a hero will be formed and tested here, in this very class! For today, we shall have this!"
All Might pulled out a small card from his pocket, the piece of cardboard looking smaller than it actually was because of his humongous figure.
The card had the word BATTLE written over it, which got some mixed reactions from the entire class.
Bakugou was grinning like a madman, while Mineta practically trembled in fear from the frightening aura that the blonde was emanating from two rows in front of him. The rest of the class seemed hyped, though, so Izuku thought Katsuki was just in the right mood.
All Might then pressed a button on a small remote, which caused parts of the wall to slide out. Each extended section of the wall had a number which corresponded to a student.
"Now, here are your costume orders that were brought to life once all of you had applied to U.A.! Everybody get dressed and head to Ground Beta!" he boomed, pointing to the far away zone that was used for the Entrance Exam.
"Yes, Sensei!" said 1-A in unison, grabbing their cases and heading to their locker rooms.
Waiting for them at Ground Beta was All Might, his trademark, omnipresent grin still there. The students came out one-by-one, and eventually, all of them were back as a whole.
"You all look so cool! Remember this, everyone! From today onwards, all of you are Heroes!" said All Might, genuinely proud of all these kids who had made it this far.
Izuku was the last person to show up, despite his rather simple costume.
Probably because he walked here, instead of sprinting like everybody else.
He was clad in a simple, black, sleeveless shirt, which had revealed his rather toned arm muscles that were well-hidden within U.A.'s uniform. Dark camo pants, a utility belt with some pouches, and combat boots adorned the lower half of his body, sharing the same dark color scheme as the rest of his costume.. and while he didn't exactly look flashy, he looked ready.
The best part about this costume was that it didn't hinder any movement, and it was really light to have on his body, thanks to the materials he'd specified to be used.
"Woah, I like the costume, Midoriya-san! Very straightforward!" said Uraraka, who slowly walked towards him.
Izuku eyed her from bottom to top, only intending to look at her costume.
She looked like an astronaut, the black and pink jumpsuit hugging her rather nice figure. Her face was covered by something that looked like an astronaut's helmet, except it was actually just a visor and wasn't exactly a helmet.
"Hey! Where are you looking?" she asked, attempting to tease the rather tall teenager.
"Your costume, obviously. You look nice. Did you mean for it to be skintight?" he asked her, expression unchanging.
Well, he was a bit flustered on the inside, but he had to keep up appearances.
He was a young man, after all, and a small glimpse at Yaoyorozu's costume was kind of reminding him more of that fact.
However, he didn't really want to be thinking of the same things as Mineta at that moment, so he just shook the thoughts off.
"All Might-sensei! Will we be doing something similar to the Entrance Exam today?" asked a student who was clad in armor like a knight's. All Might figured out it was Iida because of the engines sticking out from his calves.
"No, Iida-kun! We will be having Indoor Battle Training today! We always see hero and villain fights out in the open on the news and such, but we all know that the shadiest of businesses occur behind closed doors! Kidnappings, smuggling, deals in the black market, all of those happen hidden from the public eye! For this test, you will be given a partner to work with, and you will be drawing lots on whether you play as a hero or a villain!" explained All Might, bringing out a box from behind him.
"Why do we have to get a random partner, Sensei? Isn't it more practical to have someone who synergizes with us as a partner," asked Iida, raising his hand.
"It's probably because on the field, heroes don't get to choose who they pair with, so you might as well work with who you have with you," answered Yaoyorozu.
"You hit the nail on the head, Young Yaoyorozu! Anyway, the scenario for this exercise is this: The villains have a nuclear weapon hidden somewhere within the building! The heroes have to find it or catch the villains before time runs out, and the villains either have to capture all the heroes or hold out until time is up!"
"Ah, I understand. I apologize for my shortcomings!" said Tenya, bowing his head in apology, to which the rest of the class sweatdropped at.
"Oh yes, I almost forgot! Young Midoriya! As a prize for getting first place in the Entrance Exam and the Quirk Apprehension test, Aizawa told me that you'd face three heroes as one villain instead!" boomed All Might, pointing at the green-haired teen.
'What kinda fucked up prize is that?' thought the rest of the class.
Izuku sighed.
"Oh! That explains why there's three of us with the Letter F!" said Kirishima, who was next to Shouji and Iida, who were all holding a piece of paper with the same letter written on it.
"HAHA! With that, for our first indoor battle, Young Midoriya, you will be facing Kirishima-kun, Shouji-kun, and Iida-kun on the hero team! We'll put together the other fights after this is finished! We'll be giving both teams five minutes to prepare!" said All Might, ushering the rest of the class into the observing room.
With that, All Might had left Izuku to his own devices, and the hero team on the other side to formulate their strategies.
"Going up against three people as one person sounds impossible! What's Aizawa-sensei up to this time?" asked Ashido to her fellow classmates, most of them agreeing with her sentiments.
"He's up against those three too. From what we've seen yesterday, they all have really strong quirks for fighting. Shouji's there to tell them where he is, Iida can run him down, and he probably can't take Kirishima-kun one-on-one," said Tokoyami, predicting how the hero team would use their quirks in conjunction to catch Izuku.
"I somewhat agree. Midoriya-kun has been very impressive so far, but all of his opponents seem to have an advantage over him in close combat. He would have to have several contingencies up his sleeve to be able to win something like this," said Momo, trying to put herself in his shoes to see what she'd do or what she'd make with her quirk.
Even All Might didn't know what Eraser was trying to do here. He knew that the kid was good, so were they planning to put him in his place or something like that?
"I guess U.A.'s trying to bring out his limits. To us, it seems quite impossible to get through a task like this, but Izuku's placed higher than all of us in all of the measures of strength we've had lately. Maybe they're trying to see if he'll finally crack against something like this," suggested Satou, who sounded quite wise at that moment.
The rest of the class seemed to agree with him, letting out hums and words of approval.
For some reason, though, Momo couldn't shake this feeling that Midoriya would win this.
Writing it off as wishful thinking, she looked at the monitor curiously, eager to see what Midoriya had in store for his opponents.
She wasn't exactly the only one who thought Izuku could do this, either.
Bakugou and Todoroki were both looking intently at the screen, seeing the expression on the greenette's eyes.
That wasn't the face of someone who was scared to lose.
That was the face of someone who knew how he was going to win.
They know that because they've been there before.
'Just what do you plan to do, Midoriya Izuku?'
"Your five minutes of preparation starts now, Midoriya-san!" boomed All Might through the speakers.
'Five minutes? Alright, I think I can do that. I hope I can,' thought Izuku.
Iida, Shouji, and Kirishima.
One of them was fast, one of them could tell his teammates where he was, and one could probably tank everything he would throw at them.
Had this been anyone else at this moment, they would probably be at their wits' end.
Fortunately for everyone watching, this was Midoriya Izuku in the position of the villain.
And he would put on a show.
Looking at the paper which had the diagram of the building's structure, Izuku came up with a plan.
Not letting any time go to waste, he began forming things left and right from both of his hands, putting things where they needed to be. He put a few things into the pouches of his utility belt, just in case some things go wrong.
Counting that he had less than two minutes left, after thinking for a bit, he positioned himself, leaving the bomb at the top floor.
He was somewhat sure that with his plan, no one would get past his defenses, anyway.
If it failed, then he would just wing it.
"Alright, Iida-kun, Shouji-kun, how do we do this? Do we just try and take him down as fast as we can? Should be easy enough, right?" asked Kirishima, cracking his knuckles in preparation for the battle.
"I think that's going to be the best course of action here, Kirishima-san. I don't think Midoriya-san can beat any of our quirks in close quarters if we just overwhelm him, so we should be able to do that. Shouji-kun, tell us if you hear his footsteps. I'll run him down and the two of you catch up. He shouldn't be able to escape once all three of us are there," said Iida, forming a somewhat sound plan to shut down Midoriya.
"Alright! Now that sounds like a solid plan! I'm with you there, Iida-kun!" exclaimed Kirishima, pumping his fists in excitement.
"That seems fine to me too, Iida-san. I shouldn't have much of a problem finding out where he is," added Shouji.
"BATTLE, START!" announced All Might from the speakers, signifying that the five minutes of preparation time have already passed.
"Let's get started," said Iida, walking into the building.
Right into Izuku's playground.
Upon hearing the first signs of life, Midoriya began to pay more attention to the sounds from the floor below him. He was currently on the second floor, hiding behind one of the huge sets of lockers that were in the building. Thanks to Iida's heavy set of armor, he practically had a sound cue of where they were at all times.
Hearing that they were close to the stairs, he pressed a small button that was in his pocket.
The sound of a pair of boots hitting concrete were suddenly heard from the floor above him.
"Hey! You hear that?" said Kirishima, trying to hush his voice. No point, though. Izuku already knew where they were.
"Sounded like it came from the third floor," said Shouji, unknowingly leading their team to their demise.
"Alright, let's run him down!" exclaimed Kirishima, following Iida and Shouji in their pursuit.
After hearing that voice, Izuku suddenly heard a person fall close to him, which signified something that would certainly make his job easier.
"Woah, woah, Iida-kun! Are you okay? Did you trip on something?" asked Kirishima, who had finally caught up to the speedster. Shouji-san followed suit, helping his teammate up.
"Yes, I'm not hurt at all. I think this is Midoriya-san's doing," said Iida, pointing to the broken tripwire that he had just ran over.
"This is definitely his doing. I don't know how he expected that to be able to delay us for a long time, though. Let's keep going! He'll run out of tricks eventually!" said Kirishima, encouraging the rest of his team to keep going.
Once Izuku heard them reach approximately the middle of the floor, he pressed another button.
Suddenly, all the heroes could see was grey.
This battle trial was going to be easy!
Kirishima Eijirou knew it in his bones.
Aizawa-sensei may have overestimated Midoriya-san a little bit, putting up three of the class' strongest members against him.
Well, to be fair, the guy had a really strong quirk, and he probably knew how to use it really well if he's gotten first place in the Entrance Exam.
But even Kirishima knew that strong quirks couldn't really do much if they were up against too many opponents.
At least, that's what he used to believe.
Up until Midoriya Izuku happened.
Now, he was beginning to believe that there were people out there who were just an entirely different breed.
The building's entire second floor became shrouded in smoke, and the footsteps that were running towards the next floor's stairway suddenly came to a halt. Izuku had smoked off the third floor as well, evident from the clouds of grey seeping in to the second floor from the staircase towards it.
The smoke and the lockers in the second floor formed some sort of maze, a rather effective one at that, judging by the hero team's confused movements.
"Sensei, we can't see anything on the monitors. Do these have an option for heat signatures?" asked Momo, pointing to one of the screens.
"Hm? Oh, yes, Young Yaoyorozu! Let me just press this real quick, then-"
Suddenly, the silhouettes of the students participating in the exercise could be seen through the smoke.
One they could instantly recognize was Iida's, due to the armor.
Another one they could recognize was the one behind him.
"Oh shit," said Katsuki out loud, which got the whole class turning their heads to him.
"They're fucked."
Iida got into a stance, preparing himself for the fight. In an attempt to get his teammates to hear him, he raised his voice.
"He's probably doing this just to buy time! Don't panic! We know he's on the floor above u-"
Iida's call was cut off by the sound of flesh striking flesh.
"Iida-kun! Iida-kun!" exclaimed Kirishima. While running back to where they had came from, he eventually felt something against his foot, which was no one other than Iida, knocked out cold.
Letting their team leader get suddenly knocked out before they've even seen Midoriya wasn't part of the plan.
Trying to get him while he was still close, Kirishima grabbed around the area where he had found Iida, but to no avail.
Hearing the same set of footsteps from earlier behind him, Kirishima rushed in, blinded with rage and frustration, towards the direction of the staircase leading to the third floor. Too focused on the noises Izuku was making, he forgot where all of their problems came from.
Kirishima got baited into another tripwire.
Once he had felt the string break on his foot, it was instantly followed up by a hand grabbing the back of his head and ramming it into the lockers. Grunting in pain, Kirishima activated his quirk in an attempt to tank the damage and fight back.
However, Hardening doesn't really matter when you can feel the 50,000 volts of a stun gun running through your back all the same.
Kirishima fell to the ground, passing out from the pain.
Two were out, and there was one left to go.
Running back behind a locker to reposition and to see how his last opponent would react, Izuku's mind began racing with possibilities.
Izuku knew exactly where Shouji was, too, since he could hear the Dupli-arm rearranging right next to the locker he was hiding behind.
Izuku knew his smoke wasn't going to be of much use anymore, so he began to form a canister in his hand. Hiding behind the safety of the lockers, Izuku snapped his fingers, causing the smoke to gradually dissipate. The moment that it had cleared, Shouji saw a canister get thrown to the floor a few inches from him. Once he had realized what it was, it had already been too late.
Covering his eyes and face in an attempt to minimize the flashbang's effects, Shouji wondered why the deafening blast never came.
Looking at the rather fake design and minimal effort put into making the canister, he realized it was just a decoy grenade.
Shouji heard a snap, and then the object he was looking at disappeared in a blinding flash of blue.
Scratch that. It was still a flashbang.
Just a less harmful one.
While he was still blind, he felt a fist connect to his face, which was then followed up by an axe kick. The kick sent him reeling backwards, getting him to turn his back towards his assailant. He then felt the sticky capture tape connect to arms, and in a last ditch attempt to fight back, Shouji punched behind him blindly as fast as he could, which was surprisingly sidestepped by the green-haired teen. Not letting go of the roll of tape, Izuku caught the taller boy's extended arm and struck it with his knee, forcing Shouji to get down. While he was writhing in pain, Izuku finished wrapping up the tape around him, signifying their defeat.
"THE HERO TEAM HAS BEEN DEFEATED! THE VILLAIN TEAM WINS!" boomed All Might from the speakers, a hint of surprise minced in his voice.
Izuku then carried Kirishima and Iida onto the stretchers brought by the medical robots to the mock building before heading back to the observation room himself.
It was the least he could do.
Yaoyorozu Momo was in disbelief.
She had basically just watched a single person, who basically had an inferior version of her quirk, dismantle a team of three of her classmates who had some of the strongest combat quirks from Class 1-A.
They didn't even come at him one by one.
They were even trying to work together.
Izuku just forced them to try and fight him one by one, on uneven ground.
They couldn't even showcase their quirks, or anything, at that.
It was a completely one-sided victory.
How Midoriya even came up with a plan like this was mind-boggling. How could he come up with a plan like this that would lead a flawless victory in just five minutes?
Everything was placed perfectly.
The tripwires, the grenades, the takedowns.
She could only marvel at the art that was the work of Midoriya Izuku.
There was also something about his eyes.
Why were they red now?
She didn't know why, but it kinda made her feel something.
She wanted him to talk down to her, call her inferior and-
Nevermind. She shouldn't be thinking about that right now.
Not when those eyes were coming through the observation room's front door, practically looking like they were staring into her soul.
Midoriya Izuku formed a towel on his left hand, wiping the sweat off his face.
Coming back to the monitoring room, he was met with all the eyes of his classmates.
Some looked scared, some were amazed, and some were shocked.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" asked Izuku, saying it for the sole reason of breaking the ice.
"You just took out three of the strongest people in class, and they didn't even touch you. No shit we're looking at you like this, Sherlock," replied Jirou, a small smile on her face.
"Yeah! You looked so cool there, Midoriya-kun! Everything happened so quickly, and Iida's team didn't even get to use their quirks! You just kept going after them!" said Kaminari, punching the air with his best imitation of Izuku.
"Shouji looked completely clueless. Once the smoke was gone, he saw two of his teammates were already out cold. Do you know how much fear that inflicts on a man?" said Tokoyami.
"We're all curious on how you did all of that, Midoriya-kun. Could you please run us through the thought process you've had throughout the entire thing?" asked Momo, trying to learn a thing or two from the guy.
As Izuku was about to do just that, he realized that they were ignoring something big in the room.
Literally, something big, hulking, staring them in the face.
"Err, All Might, are you fine with this? Don't you have to give us feedback or something?" asked Izuku, grabbing a bottle of water from his backpack.
"In all reality, I don't think anyone can give either you or the hero team any feedback, Young Midoriya. You played that situation with perfect timings and decision-making, and while your quirk did have a hand in all of that, it was your quick thinking and lack of hesitation that made everything so flawless. You are the MVP of this round, Young Midoriya," said the hulking man, giving him the green-haired boy a pat on the back.
"Thank you, All Might-sensei. Your approval means a lot to me," said Izuku.
"Now, I'm pretty sure all your classmates still want to learn something from that round, so please, enlighten us, Midoriya-kun!"
Izuku sighed, turning around to face the rest of the class, noticing that Iida and Kirishima were already there with the rest of them. Taking a swig of water and wiping off more sweat on his face, he then decided to start explaining.
"Alright, so here's what I was thinking. I started coming up with a plan the moment I saw who I was up against. There's something in common between Iida, Kirishima, and Shouji. What do you think that is, Tsu-san?" said Izuku, sitting down on the room's floor.
Tsu then put a finger to her chin in thought.
"They're all oriented for close combat, aren't they?" answered Tsu after a few seconds of thinking, which was an answer Izuku was pleased with.
"Yes, Tsu-san, that is correct. They all have to approach me to gain an advantage. Whether if it was Iida's speed, or Shouji's brute force, or Kirishima's endurance, none of those could really work if I was far away from them. They would need to know where I was, and that was where Shouji's scouting could come in. Luckily, I had thought of that, so I made one of these to fake the information that I was on the third floor, and not on the floor directly above them," explained Izuku, pulling out an mp3 player and speaker from his pocket.
"Damn, that was the sound that was coming from the third floor? No wonder you got to us so fast! We thought you just came from the stairs or something!" exclaimed Kirishima, realizing a very crucial mistake.
"The plan that you guys had in mind was correct, Kirishima-san: to overwhelm me with numbers, because eventually, they would've won if I had fought under their terms. So, for the next step, what did I have to do to make what I did easier?" asked Izuku to the class.
"You had to smoke them out?" asked Uraraka, her head tilting.
"Yes, I smoked them out, but what did that smoke do?"
"Confuse them?"
"The smoke did blind them and confuse them, but what else did the smoke do?"
"The smoke isolated the one on one fights, dumbasses," said Katsuki, wondering why his classmates couldn't figure it out sooner.
"Bakugou-san is correct. Yes, that was exactly what the smoke did. It let me fight them one on one, which I had the advantage in, because I had information on them while they had wrong information on me. Tell me, Ashido-san, why do you think Iida was the first person I went for among the three of them?"
"Was it because he could get to the bomb the fastest?" asked Ashido, to which Izuku shook his head to.
"That's also a good reason to do so, but nah, not really," replied Izuku, who then saw a gloved hand shoot up from the crowd.
"Yes, Jirou-san?" said Izuku, turning to her.
"Was it because he was the one that got nicked by the tripwire?"
"Pretty much," replied Izuku, forming a small circle in his hand, which then became a tripwire.
"This was a tripwire I saw in a video game once, so I tried to replicate it. I couldn't get it down exactly, but it works in conjunction with this contact lens, which was all I needed. Here, Yaoyorozu-san, try wearing it," said Izuku, making an identical contact lens to the one that was already in his eye.
She didn't know why Izuku picked her out of the crowd, but she was more than happy to try it out.
Wearing the lenses, she blinked a few times to put them in place. As she fixed her gaze, she was met with eyes just as red as hers.
"Hm, the red matches the red on your costume. Looks nice," absentmindedly said Izuku as he was focused on his quirk's work, not noticing that Momo went just as red from that statement.
He began making a tracker just like the one he put on his tripwires on his hand. Once it had finished forming, Izuku slapped the tracker onto the closest thing that was close to him, which, apparently, was All Might.
"Oh, sorry 'bout that, All Might."
"No problem, Young Midoriya! Now, tell us, Yaoyorozu-san, is it working?" asked All Might, who had then caught Momo's attention.
Interestingly enough, he had a faint red silhouette surrounding him, constantly emanating some sort of signal.
"Midoriya-san, could you see this red silhouette even through smoke?" asked Momo.
"Yep, you can see the person who's tagged by the tracker through almost any obstruction. It only has a certain effective range, though. Here, let me show you. Shouji-kun, could you stand in front of All Might real quick?" said Izuku, to which the multi-armed teen agreed to, blocking the No.1 Hero's figure as best as he could. After giggling a bit at the sight, Momo realized that she could still see the parts of All Might that Shouji was covering with his own body.
"Wow. That's quite something, Midoriya-san," complimented Momo, to which Izuku smiled at and silently thanked. Snapping his fingers, everything he's made in the room disappeared. He disabled the bright flash of light that came with it, because he would be an asshole to temporarily rob the entire class of their sense of sight.
That, and the two contact lenses in his eyes weren't something he could avoid.
"Anyway, after taking Iida out with a well-placed strike to the neck, the hero team began to fall apart. I baited Kirishima-san into another tripwire, and disarmed him with something that could go through his quirk, hence, the stun gun. Shouji-san was the last left among the three of them, and I had a rather simple solution. Shouji-san's extra appendages are his primary strength, yes, but it can also be treated like a weakness, because the threat of something harming any of his five senses would affect him several times more than the usual person. I blinded him with my quirk, and the rest was history," finished Izuku, standing up from the floor.
"Very well-explained, Young Midoriya! You are forming into a fine hero. I hope you stay true to your principles, and always remember, Plus Ultra! Go even further than you've gone today! " said All Might, giving an assuring look to the young hero.
"Thank you, All Might-sensei. I will do my best," said Izuku, bowing his head in gratitude for the kind words.
"Not bad, Green. You fucked 'em up," said Bakugou. Izuku could tell he wasn't a person who would regularly tell someone they did a good job, so Izuku thought of it as a compliment.
"I agree, Midoriya-san! None of us could even keep with what you were doing! We were completely decimated!" exclaimed Iida, a mix of self-deprecation and praise in his voice.
"The way you had thought up such an elaborate plan in such a short amount of time still amazes me, Midoriya-san. I'd love to have you teach me about your thought processes or something like that," said Momo.
After all, if you want to improve, you should learn from the best.
And well, who else is the best but Midoriya Izuku?
The entirety of 1-A learned something,
"Sure, I'd love to learn from you too, Yaoyorozu-san," replied Izuku, accepting her offer.
"Alright! Young Heroes, if Midoriya-san's performance didn't hype you up to do your best, then I don't know what will! Let's try to meet the standards he has set for us all! Go beyond!" shouted All Might, expecting his class to follow up.
"Plus Ultra!" exclaimed 1-A in unison, to All Might's satisfaction.
The rest of the mock battles would continue after that.
Each match would have their highlights, like Todoroki freezing an entire section of the mock building, which had rendered Tsu incapacitated almost instantly, or Bakugou's dominant and aggressive victory over Tokoyami and Ashido, but none of them could really match Midoriya's speed and confidence.
Because all of them knew that against all odds, he still somehow performed better than most of his classmates, even the ones that got in from recommendations.
As the class went on, all of them became even more aware of one thing:
Midoriya Izuku was at the top of the class for a reason.
Alright, that's it for this chapter. I hope you liked the way Izuku manhandled those kids. As for the pairing for this story, I'm not really sure who, but I know I won't make it a harem. (unless? idk)
Give me suggestions, rate and review, all that jazz.
Hope all of you have a good day.
