Hello all, and in this chapter, we are finally back in Zora's Domain for this unique chapter. This chapter will be the somewhat last chapter in the Link origins type chapter as in future chapter will focus more on Link's time as a knight and his relationship with Mipha, Daruk, and a few other characters.

I hope you enjoy the chapter.

"I'm not sure how I feel about allowing Hylians to dig around our lands," Muzu said, "it could very lead to trouble."

Mipha had started go in and out of the conversations. She had begun to lose track of time and how long she had been here typically, she wasn't present for these meetings. Still, her father said that she needed to start attending as she was Zora royalty, and this would be an important factor when the day came that she needed to lead their people 'calling them meeting would like a complement. However,' Mipha thought these meetings typically went on for long hours of the day and generally accomplished nothing when it came to Zora relations with other lands.

"yes, I agree with Muzu," another elder spoke up "if anything, those Hylians. could be trying to take land from us."

"While I would like to believe you," Dorphan spoke, "King Rhoam himself has made this request," he said

"Th King of Hyrule," Muzu asked "forgive me for speaking freely, my king, but what does the king want in our lands" Muzu's voice lacked the typical disdain he had when speaking of Hylians, which honestly surprised Mipha. Still, she figured it was out of respect her father and King Rhoan were close allies. It was their collaboration and willingness to cooperate that has led to such peace.

"My old friend has some worrying concerns," Dorphan muttered. Mipha couldn't help but wonder what he knew that was the cause for such concern "while he did confide this information into me and the other leaders of around Hyrule, all I can say that is order to secure the peace that we have managed to obtain after years of war,"

Muzu stroked his chin "my king," he said, "while I have no doubt you have the Domains safety in mind," he asked, "I must know if this is the best course of action."

"it is the only way I can see for us to survive" Mipha could see the hint of fear in her father's eyes. She couldn't help but wonder what King of Hyrule told him to have him so unnerved.

"While I do not Like it," Muzu muttered, "I will follow your lead, my king," he bowed, "please forgive me for my outburst" the other elder's mummers in agreement as Dorphan couldn't help but smile as they all started to agree.

"don't worry, my old friends," Dorphan smiled at them "if anything, this will strengthen the relations we have with the other races." he gave a hearty laugh, the air of seriousness in him vanishing as if it was never there in the first place. "shouldn't it be in our best interest to make sure that the next generation doesn't have to pay for the mistakes of their parents."

Mipha couldn't help but laugh though she did her best to hide it. Her father was many things kind, patient, Forgiving. These things to her are why he made a great ruler of Zora's Domain

as the elders started to filter out, Mipha began to gather herself to leave. Her father's voice rang through the room "Mipha, may I speak with you, my dear."

"yes, father," Mipha said as the other elders started to leave, telling her Farwell; she turned to face her father as he greeted her with a warm smile.

"you know, my dear," his voice started, "when I requested you to begin attending these, I expected you to at least participate, or at the very least show some form of interest in the subject" he laughed as he saw his daughter's cheeks turn red.

"I apologize, it's just" Mipha looked away "there's just been a lot going on, and I've been distracted."

"I see," Dorphan said. "I would be lying if I said you were not the pride of the Zora," he looked at her. "but you must remember to take care of yourself, my dear."

"I understand, father," Mipha said

"Please do not stand on such formality's," he said, chuckling. "I swear you can be as bad Link when he was here" he stopped when he saw the look of sadness in Mipha's eyes. "I bet he misses you just as much."

Mipha's saddened look was replaced by her cheeks glowing as red as her scales. "I doubt that," Mipha said, "knowing him right now, he is gorging on food without a care in the world."

"you make it sound so bad," Dorphan let a smile "you are no doubt on his mind as much he is on yours."

"I know, father," Mipha said. "I guess I'm just stressed."

"which why I ask you to take better care of yourself," he said, "if you need to, I'm sure others will understand."

"Okay," Mipha muttered, "and thank you, father" she bowed as she started to leave; Dorphan had to hide his chuckle. She must have been stressed she failed to notice the light teasing he gave her. He wondered how this would happen. For now, he would watch from a distance.

Mipha let out a grown as she finally relaxed in her room. The day had been long and taxing on her and her mind between Muzu's classes, Seggin's training, and all the other duties she has to the Domain. Mipha found herself a lot busier than she did when she was younger. People always needed her having to heal the guards, watching over Sidon, and the long council meetings. Shaking her head, she sat down.

'I can't believe I did that,' Mipha said as she looked at a lone piece of paper. She really didn't mean to sound that she was angry at Link. in fact, she was happy he was out doing what he had to, though a part of her was a bit hurt that he never wrote to her or any of his other friends.

'he already forgot you' that voice would nag at her though she squashed it pretty quickly. She could just as easily write a letter for Link. Kiana had come over by the Domain a few times even asked if they had anything they wanted to give Link though she always said no.

It's not like she didn't want to talk to him. She could never find the right words to say, that on top of the fact she would have to tell Link about Sidon Bazz and the brigade and their training, eventually she just gave up why did it have to be so complicated a knock at her door pulled her out of thoughts.

"enter."

the door slowly opened to reveal Sidon, who was sticking his tiny head through the door. "Mipha," Sidon muttered as he entered the room, walking up to her giving her a slight tug "come on, let's play," he said

"I can't right now," she said " I need to finish some things," she gave him a warm smile "we can play later, I promise."

"you said that yesterday" Sidon started, "and the day before that, and the day before that."

"Sidon" Mipha had to admit she was just worn out. She picked him up and placed him on her lap. "I know you want to play, but I have a lot to do."

"I know," Sidon muttered. "you have duties, and others demand to our people" Sidon looked over, "but what about you deserve a break to"

"I know," Mipha laughed, "and I promise I will take one so we can play, but right now, I need to work."

"hey," Sidon muttered as he rolled over, "have you heard from Link."

the question had caught her off guard. A part of her wondered if Sidon had forgotten about him after he had left the Domain "no," she muttered, "no, I haven't heard from Link," she laughed. "I'm surprised you still remember him."

"of course, I do," Sidon said, "he was my friend; I miss him too."

"I guess that's true," Mipha laughed. "I sure you're on his mind Sidon" she smiled.

"do you miss him," Sidon asked? He noticed to look of sadness in her eyes "yeah," she smiled. A part of her couldn't believe that it's been three years since Link had left to join the knights of Hyrule. She smiled as Sidon reseed his head on her lap, "and I'm sure he misses us just as much."

"really"

"I believe so" there was a hint of doubt in her voice, but Sidon smiled at her. "we'll see him again" she smiled at him "one day, I can't tell you when, but I know that one day he'll come back to see us.

Sidon's eyes perked up before he stood up, jumping down. "I know just the thing to do to" Sidon smiled before running away, leaving behind a very confused Mipha who shook her head as she turned back to the letter, she had been trying to convince herself to write 'maybe my father is right' Mipha said to herself a bit of rest, and maybe I'll go spend some time with Sidon'

Sidon was a small Zora on a mission. There were several things he needed to do and to do them. He would need help. he looked over typically he smiled as he came across Bazz, who seemed to be talking to Gaddison

"hey Bazz," Sidon screamed, catching the older Zora's attention as he turned and greeted

"ah, prince Sidon" he smiled, "how are you."

"I'm fine," Sidon said, stopping "how's your handwriting."

"my what" Bazz asked, confused

"I need to write a letter" he smiled

"Why didn't you ask Princess Mipha," Gaddison asked

"duh," Sidon said like it was obvious, "this something for her," he smiled "you guys know her birthday is coming up, right" they nodded, still trying to figure out what was going on in the energetic prince's head.

"so, what does a letter have to do with that" Bazz asked

"oh, come on, it's obvious," Sidon smiled "who isn't here to celebrate my sister's birthday with us."

"Link," they said before a sudden realization came over them "oh, I get it," Bazz said

"We write a letter to Link," Gaddison started, "and ask him to come to Mipha's birthday" Sidon nodded "why haven't we been writing letters to him since he left.

"I," Bazz started before he shrugged, "I have no idea," he said, "we have been busy with training and all that."

"I guess," Gaddison admitted

"So, can you help me" Sidon gave a smile that neither could ever hope to refuse? How does Mipha tell this kid no will be one the greatest mysteries in the entire Domain?

"Fortunately for all of us," Bazz smiled as he gestured towards Gaddison, "Gaddison has some the best had written in the Domain." this earned him a well-placed punch to the shoulder as she looked away, clearly embarrassed "alright, let's track down Rivan, and commence operation bring Link home for princess Mipha's birthday."

"that is far too wordy but okay," Sidon said as Gaddison face palmed why she put up these goofballs she didn't know, but she loved them anyway. Besides, it never got boring.

soon they were all in the bazz brigade hideout as Gaddison sat at a small desk Rivan Bazz and Sidon standing over "wow, Gaddison," Sidon said, "your handwriting is beautiful."

"thank you-"

"I mean not as pretty as Mipha's but still really pretty" Gaddison let out an exhausted sigh. She could not get mad at him as they started writing, "so dear Link, what."

"umm," Sidon said, "can you please come to Mipha's birthday."

"that sounds too forceful," Rivan told him "at most of he can't make it'll make him feel guilty" Rivan smiled, "we should ask how knighthood is going first."

"This isn't a social call Rivan," Bazz said "we can catch up with Link if he manages to come" Bazz looked to Sidon "the prince is on to a good start."

"We don't want to sound desperate."

"I get that but"

done," Gaddison said, getting their attention as she cleared her throat "dear Link, I hope you are well, and knight training is going well. We are sending you this letter to ask if you aren't too busy. If you can, stop by the Domain for my big sister's birthday. It would really make her day if you could come, your friends, Sidon prince of the Zora, and the big bad bazz brigade."

"When did you write that" Bazz asked

"I just took everything you guys said and made it fancy," Gaddison replied

"that makes sense," Rivan said, "and it's short and simple too."

"here ya go, Prince Sidon"

"thank you" Sidon gave her a small hug before running out of the hideout.

"you think Link will be able to come" Rivan asks.

"I don't know," Bazz said "it's been so long," Bazz smiled, "but I want to believe that Link will do everything in his power to get here" he looked at them "come on, let's hurry before my father figures out where here and we have to spoil the prince's surprise."

"I don't think the elders will like that surprise, " Rivan joked

"well, it's not for them, though," Gaddison said, "so they'll be fine."

Sidon ran through the Domain as fast as his little Zora legs would carry him. He needed to find a way for this letter to get to Link without Mipha knowing about it. so, the obvious fact was to ask dad, and he would know

"Sidon," a voice called. He turned to see Mipha walking up to him. "there you are," she said as Sidon quickly hid the letter behind his back "why are you running."

"oh umm," Sidon looked away, "no reason" he smiled as he slid past her, "going to talk to dad with something" as he ran off, "I'll catch up with you later; love you bye," he said, leaving behind an extremely confused Mipha.

Sidon ran into the throne room where he saw Dorephan talking with Dento, who smiled as he came in "why hello, young prince Sidon" he said

"Hello, my son," Dorphan greeted

"Dad," Sidon said, jumping up and down, "I need to send this letter."

"a letter," he asked, "to who if you don't mind me asking."

"it's for Link."

"Link," Dento asked, "that's a name I haven't heard in a while" he smiled; unlike many elders, he was pretty fond of the boy. He spent a considerable time in his workshop, so they had a lot of time together.

"I see," Dorphan asked he "did Mipha write that with you."

"nope," Sidon said, "Mipha doesn't know," he smiled "it's a surprise for her."

"I see," Dorphan laughed.

"if you don't mind, my king." Dento started, "I would gladly help the prince see his letter to the Hylian boy," he smiled " a good friend of mine is making a delivery for some materials I need to finish a project. he might be able to deliver the prince's message."

"if it's no trouble," Dorphan told him to wish the Zora shook his head,

"no trouble at all, your majesty." he smiled as he gestured to the young prince "please come with me, young Sidon," he said as he started to guide him out. "I can help you with your request."

"really," Sidon's grin was enough to brighten the Domain "thank you, later, dad."

Dorphan couldn't help but smile as he left 'I wonder if Link will be able to make it" he said it would be good to see the young man. He probably has grown a lot in the three years he's been gone.

Sidon smiled as he watched the man who gave Dento his materials leave the Domina. He gave a wave. The man had promised that he would find the boy and deliver his message, so now all he had to do was wait.

it was going to be a long week

Mipha had forced another grin as another person came by and greeted her telling her happy birthday. She had honesty forgot it was coming up. Her mind was from Link to whatever the council was going on about, To how odd Sidon had been acting for the entire day. Every time she saw him, he looked elsewhere towards the Domain entrance like he was looking for someone. 'I can figure that out later.'

"Princess Mipha," a voice called Mipha turned to see Dento walking up to her, a smile on his face. "Happy birthday, your grace."

"thank you, Dento."

"if you don't mind," he smiled, "I would like to show you the gift I handcrafted for you."

"Dento, you didn't have to."

"of course, I did," Dento smiled "you already do so much for the Domain, and I figured I could do something for you" he smiled as he motioned for her to follow. which she did as they walked Mipha's thoughts went back to how odd her brother was acting "you're worried about the prince."

"I," Mipha stopped, "yes," she looked away, "he's been acting weird all day," she frowned. "I hope he's not getting himself into trouble."

"I'm sure whatever he's doing is to impress you" Dento knew what was occupying the prince's mind he was waiting for their Hylian friend to arrive thought chances of that are getting lower by the second morning had since turned to afternoon, and soon the afternoon would turn to evening "I'm sure whatever it is, the prince can handle"

"I guess" Mipha let out a sigh of relief today was supposed to be a happy day. It was her birthday, so she needs to be happy, but she couldn't concentrate with so much on her mind.

"man," Sidon let out a grown as Bazz, Rivan, and Gaddison approached him "he's still not here" he had been waiting for Link, but the longer the day went, the more he feared that he wouldn't be coming and that wouldn't be good.

"maybe something happened," Rivan asked, "or Link just couldn't get away."

"We knew this was a possibility," Bazz said

"man," Gaddison said, "and I went and got my hopes up that we would see him again."

"man," Sidon said, "I get that he wants to be a knight of Hyrule, which is really cool, but doesn't he knew we miss him."

"Is everything alright here" a voice called the group turned to see Seggin walking up to them.

"father," Bazz started, "we were" Bazz looked away

"We were waiting for Link," Sidon said

"Link," Seggin asked. The boy hadn't crossed his mind in a while, and he would be lying if he didn't often wonder he was doing alright.

"We sent him a letter last week asking if he could make it to Mipha's birthday," Sidon started "he never responded., but I guess I was hoping he would show up."

Seggin looked in the distance a smile formed on his face as he noticed something, "so I'm guessing that not him" he pointed his spear as the children looked into the distance as a smile soon formed on all their faces.

Mipha was awestruck as she looked over the weapon that Dento had presented to her. "I call it the lightscale trident," he told her, "seeing as you've improved so much with your spearmen ship, me and Seggin thought it best to make you a weapon that would match your elegance" smiled at her "what do you think."

"I love," Mipha finally spoke before she gave him a hug "thank you, Dento," she smiled, "thank you so much."

"it's no problem, princess," he said as she back up. "I'm glad you enjoy it. If you ever find yourself damaging it or losing, please inform me so I can make you another one or at least repair it."

"yes, I will, thank you," she said

"princess Mipha," a voice called. She turned to see Seggin standing in the doorway.

"Seggin," Mipha smiled. One could tell Dento's gift had lifted her mood, "I should thank you as well."

"It is my pleasure," Seggin said, bowing, "the prince has requested your presence."

"I see," Mipha said "excuse me," she said as Dento waved her goodbye as she went past Seggin as Dento approached him.

"I take it the prince was able to get a certain someone to come," Dento asked Dento didn't receive an answer, through the smile from Seggin was all he needed to know.

Mipha had made her way to the entrance. She looked up to see Sidon jumping up and down, trying to hand something to a stranger. She shook her head as she approached; she noticed something familiar about them.

"come on," Sidon whined

"I'm not putting that on," he said

"Link," a voice called the entire group looked at her, and Mipha saw that it was indeed Link. The air seemed to go silent as they stared at each other as Sidon rushed in front of him. "Surprise."

"Mipha," she heard Link whisper.

'alright, greet him professionally,' Mipha's brain told her 'people are watching, and you don't want to cause a scene. You need to represent the Domain'. Unfortunately for Mipha, her heart had already taken over, and before long, she had already flung her arms around Link though she had barely moved him. It was then she noticed how tall he's gotten since the last time they saw each other.

"I missed you too," Link whispered as he hugged her back. Feeling his grip tighten, Mipha felt herself relax.

"Sorry I never wrote," Link muttered.

"I could never find the right words to say," Mipha finished

"and every time I tried."

"I just had so much to tell you,"

"I'm sorry."

"that doesn't matter," Mipha told him, pushing back, giving him a warm smile "what matters right now is that you're here" she gave him another hug, "and honestly, it makes it all worth it."

"Happy birthday, Mipha," Link finally said

"How did you know," Mipha asked. "I mean, how did you."

"That was me," Sidon said, jumping up and down. "I sent a letter asking Link to come, and he did."

"I wrote the letter," Gaddison said over him.

"thank you, Sidon, you too, Gaddison," Mipha said, bringing him in for a hug as Link turned to his old friends from the brigade.

"it's good to see you guys again, really," Link smiled "sorry I haven't sent anything."

"naw it alright," Bazz told him, "but what took you," Bazz told him, "we worried you weren't going to make it."

"well," Link said, scratching the back of his head. "I was planning on coming here, then I got the letter," he looked around, "so Kiana pulled some strings, and I was able to get out here today," Link laughed nervously, "though it took everything I had to get here."

"well," Mipha said, cutting him off, "I'm glad you made it Link" she then turned to Sidon, "and thank you, Sidon, I told you we would see him again."

"yep," they all let out a loud laugh as the group started to reconnect

once they had made their way to the banquet that King Dorphan had created in honor of Mipha's birthday. He smiled as he notices the familiar Hylian

"ah, I see" he smiled as he greeted the children. "Link, it's good to see you, my boy

"Your majesty," Link said, bowing.

"I swear you're just as bad as Mipha," he laughed. as they all sat down and started to celebrate "may we all say Happy birthday to my daughter," he said as everyone cheered.

"Dad," Sidon said as Dorphan looked at him, "can you make Link put this on, please." he held a bow that would normally be put on presents where the young prince had got it was anyone's guess

"Sidon, I'm not putting that on," everyone laughed. Soon many chiefs had brought out food as everyone started to eat. Mipha turned to Link. "I must ask Link," he looked at her mouth full of food, "how long will you be staying in the Domain."

"I have a week off," Link told her.

"wonderful," she said, smiling as the sweet smell of cake soon came into the room as Sidon told Link of all the cool stuff he and Mipha had done as well as what training Bazz, Gaddison and Rivan had been up Dorphan smiled it had been a long time since he saw his daughter so happy. He was surprised to see Link once again. Tomorrow he would have a proper way to welcome the boy back to the Domain. However, for right now, he knew the boy would want to celebrate Mipha, and he wouldn't blame him though he knew that Sidon had clearly one when it came to birthday.

it well into the night when the celebrating ended, "but I don't wanna go to bed." other Zora's could hear Sidon's wines as Seggin waved him off as Mipha turned to see Bazz, Rivan, and Gaddison bid Link farewell and went to sleep soon it was just the two of them

"Link I," Mipha smiled, "you must be tired."

"and how is the birthday girl," Link said as he looked at her "you must be tired too."

"no, I can stay up," Mipha said

"Mipha, I'll be here tomorrow," he smiled at her, "promise."

"Okay," Mipha nodded, finally feeling how tired she was. "I just well," she smiled "thank you, Link," she looked at him "it is good to see you again."

"you too," Link told her. They started to separate again. Link intending to find a room in the inn so he could rest "oh right," Link said as he pulled something out. It was a small necklace with a sapphire gem.

"I got this for you" he smiled as Mipha took it in hand and smiled

"Link, you didn't have to" she looked at him as he smiled at her "you being here was enough for me."

"of course, I did," Link told her, "your best friend, and well, I wanted to give you something" Mipha gave Link another hug which he happily returned.

"thank you," she said, "thank you."

And with that, we have an end to another chapter. So, let me know what you think, so the next chapter will be a part two to this as if I put all here well, it would have been too long, and I didn't want it to be too long as well as it would have been all over the place so by doing this way, I can have more focus on Link like I wanted to. I felt it would have been a weird switch, seeing as the focus of this chapter was on Sidon and Mipha and how they felt after Link's departure.

Also, I realize that I haven't been giving you a passage of time, so here it is

chapter 2 takes place 4 years after chapter 1

chapter 3 takes place 2 years after chapter 2

chapter 4 takes place a year after chapter 3

chapter 5 takes place two weeks after chapter 4

with all that said, I think I'm done here, so as always
