Hey guys I'm not dead, and guess what we have a new chapter today, sorry for the long wait but I've been swamped with a lot of other stuff, anyway we have a little different chapter today, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the story. if anything, after this, we should have at least one more chapter, so I wanted to include one more Zora domain-based chapter
and now let's begin
"So, tell me again, why we are doing this" Revali asked in front of him was princess Zelda, and in front of her wa Link the boy was the sight of much scorn from him so right now he was a bit peeved "we are wasting time we could be training."
"You didn't have to come, Revali," Urbosa said, walking next to him. "Link and Zelda needed to stop by the Domain to check on Princess Mipha's progress on Vah Ruta" she looked away. "I just wanted to make sure that Link and Zelda could get here safely." she looked away "with all the yiga incidents, I don't want Link to be overwhelmed, is all."
"If he is the hero," Revali started, "then I think he could handle it himself."
"Even people like Link need help," Urbosa told him, "And if that were the case, you wouldn't have offered to accompany us as well" she gave a teasing grin "you're worried as well, aren't you."?
"As if," Revali started, "I could care less what happens to that little knight," he began. He glanced over to see Link and Zelda. The two were in the middle of a conversation "I'm just speaking my mind."
"Whatever you say," Urbosa muttered.
"So, Link," Zelda asked as she walked to Link side, looking him over "you grew up in the domain, yes" Link nodded "could you tell me what that was like" she gave him a smile Link just looked at her as a small smile grew on his face for the past week, she has been trying to get to know Link. However, it was no easy task. He seemed not to enjoy small talk or, at the very least, was hesitant to engage, but she was determined, if anything, to at least have her guard to open up to her a bit for research purposes, of course.
"It was nice," Link said, pulling the princess out of her thoughts, "despite what many would think, the Zora was accommodating for me" he smiled at the more fun aspects of his childhood coming into his memories. He looked at Zelda. She was clearly expecting more he could see that, but there were things he just wasn't willing to talk about. His thoughts on the princess were mixed, to say the least, at the very least. he started to understand what Mipha meant when she said that others just needed to know him and they might warm up to him 'should try that with Revali' Link looked at her "forgive me, princess," Link said getting her attention. "I'm not good with small talk."
"I see," Zelda muttered, "sorry if I feel like I'm intruding."
"No," Link said, stopping her, "it's fine. I don't mind being asked questions" Link smiled. "I'm a semi-open book."
While that was a nice touch, it was the stuff that Link was closed off about that she was more interested in. Still, for now, she would have to accept the bits and pieces that Link would tell her. "Okay then," she said, "if you don't mind me asking, why exactly did you end up in Zora's domain," she asked. This was enough to get Urbosa and Revali's attention. the topic of Link's past rarely came up in conversation, so both were a bit curious
"That book's closed" was all Link said as he looked forward. he didn't mean for it to come out as cold but still not a day he likes to keep on his mind, but still, he should at least give her some semblance of an answer "sorry, I don't like to talk about it."
"I," Zelda stopped, "that's alright," she said. She remembered when they had stopped when they were trapped under the tree while it was raining how she had asked if he could be anything other than a knight "why a traveler," Zelda said, hoping that Link would be able to answer and wanting to change the subject.
"I like exploring," was Link said, "seeing new places, meeting people" Link smiled "nothing more to it."
Revali was about to say something, but Urbosa grabbed his beak and smiled "that is an interesting choice, Link." she smiled at him as Link looked forward. They were nearing the Domina now. As they came across the final bridge, she could see the Zora looking over as they approached.
"Ah, princess," one of the guards said, giving a short bow before turning to Link smiling at him, "and Sir Link, it's nice to see you. Welcome home" Link could only smile, "glad to be back." the small greeting was enough for the pair, "and Lady Urbosa and Sir Revali the King has been expecting all of you."
"Yes, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Revali said, looking away.
"Yes," Urbosa said, "thank you for having us."
"Link," a voice called the group turned to see Mipha walking up to them, giving a warm smile, "Princess Zelda. Lady Urbosa and Revali, it's nice to see you all."
"Hello, princess Mipha," Zelda said "just checking in on your progress with Ruta," she said as they started to follow her into the Domain "just wasn't to make sure everyone is making progress with there. Divine beast"
"Yes," Mipha said, "but first my father would like to greet you" she looked at Zelda "he would very much like to you all," she smiled "once we are done, we can head over. So, you can see my progress with Ruta."
"As you say," Zelda said. She smiled as she noticed Link had stopped to talk to a few Zora children. He waved goodbye and started to catch up with them 'he must feel at home right now.'
Soon they found themselves in front of the King of the Domain Dorphan. He gave them a warm smile "it is truly a pleasure to meet you all."
"Thank you for having us, King Dorphan," Zelda started.
"The pleasure is mine, princess" he looked over the room. "I do hope your time in the Domain will be fruitful." he looked, overseeing Link giving him another smile "and Link," he said, calling the boy forward. "I do take you have been well."
"Yes," Link said, "it is good to see you again, Dorphan," which earned him a lot of confusion from the other champions, excluding Mipha. Of course, they all knew Link had grown up in the Domain, but the fact that he was on such friendly terms with the King himself surprised Zelda the most. When Link interacted with her father, she noticed how highly formal speaking he was when spoken to and typically answered all his questions as much formality as he could. but here Link seemed to be relaxed, almost as if he knew the King more than he let on
"That is good," he smiled. "I do hope your trip to the Domain was easy."
"Yes, it was," Zelda answered, letting go of her thoughts, "not too much trouble."
"It does me good to know that," Dorphan smiled "we are truly honored to house you and your friend's princess."
"We once again thank you for your hospitality" Zelda smiled as the King waved his hands.
"of course," he said as a guard walked into the room. "Now, please, I hope you find your stay enjoyable" he smiled as they all stood up to dismiss themselves as they started to walk out of the throne room. leaving the King to deal with his many duties
"So, I take it Daruk didn't come with you," Miph asked as they walked down the stairs.
"No," Link answered, "said he had some things to take care of back on death mountain."
"Oh," Mipha said as they walked outside the sun hitting the area around the Domain, "I do hope he is alright' she said, "is he still having trouble with his Divine beast."
"Not at the moment," Zelda told her. "He seems to be having a better understanding of it now."
"that's good," Mipha said. There was no question that Mipha seemed to be in the most control of her Divine beast out of all the champions. They have bonded well. Even her father was surprised at how well Mipha had managed to bond with it.
"Speaking of which," Zelda said, "how are things with you and Ruta going, Mipha." Then, Zelda asked, "is there anything we need to do to help you with your control of the Divine Beast."
Mipha shook her head, her jewelry shaking as she did "as of now, there is nothing more. However, I think that could be done to help me with my control of Ruta."
"Well," Zelda said, scratching her chin, "if you don't mind, I would like to take an up-close look at Ruta."
"Yes, of course," Mipha said, "anything to help your research, princess," she smiled "we need to make sure we are as prepared for the Calamity as possible."
"Yes, we" Zelda was interrupted when a guard came running up to the group, a look of horror on his face as he came to a stop.
"Princess," he said as he tried to catch his breath, "there you are, and sir, Link you here as well."
"what's wrong," Mipha asked.
"It the young prince," he said, "we can't seem to find him around the Domain,"
"what" Mipha shouted.
"You don't think he went to shatterback point, do you." Link asked
"Why would he go there," Zelda asked
"Well, earlier," the guard started, "we heard that another Lynel had appeared up there, but we haven't been able to check" Link's eyes widen as it appeared a thought crossed his mind.
"You don't think," Link started.
"We need to go now," Mipha stated, "inform my father."
"Princess," Link said, "please wait here."
"Wait, Link," Zelda tried to stop him, but before she could even react, Link was rushing off to finds the place where Sidon had most likely run off to along with the bazz brigade.
"Always running off," Mipha signed. "Princess, I ask that you remain here," Mipha said "shatterback point is dangerous and is often home to a dangerous Lynel," Mipha said, "if another one has come around," Mipha stopped herself.
"Shatterback point, huh," Revali said. She could hear the excitement in his voice, "and here I thought this would be boring" a small gust of wind came from him as he flew up. "Fear not, princess," he smirked, "Your little knight and I can handle this."
Mipha shook her head "if Sidon is up there, then I'll be going to," Mipha said, "Urbosa."
"she's fine," Urbosa said "Link asked me to watch her."
"Wait," Zelda said, "how."
Urbosa said nothing, just giving a smile "sometimes you don't need to say anything to get the point across."
"but"
"Link can handle this little bird," Urbosa said, "it would be too dangerous for you to go up there."
"But I," Zelda stopped. She knew she couldn't do anything as she watched her friend's runoff. Like the other day, the monster attack on castle town would she always be forced to sit on the sidelines.
"Hey, little knight," A voice called Link stopped to see Revali "do you mind telling me where this shatterback point is," he asked.
"Let me hop on your back, and I'll show you."
"What," Revali said she could hear the anger in his voice, "of all the asinine. things that could have come out of your mouth," Revali said, "you expect me to carry you ha not happening." Revali said with as much confidence as he could
"Your right," Link said "you probably couldn't carrier me anyway," he said, smirking as Revali glared at him a few seconds alter Link was seated on the back on the Rito as he grumbled something about ethnics and stupid knights Link had to suppress a laugh " alright he said pointing head up to that large mountain right there," he said pointing to what has famously become shatter back point.
"Why is it called that," Revali asked
"Well," Link said, "it a jumping point to East reservoir lake," Link started, "and well, let's just say more than a few Zora has gotten themselves hurt jumping off of it" Link chuckled.
"You jumped off it, didn't you."?
"Nah," Link said, "I pushed a Lynel off it, though"
"How," Revali asked to where Link just chuckled 'this knight is something else,' Revali thought to himself, 'I really do want to challenge him to a duel, but that can wait until after the calamity" Revali smiled at the thought as he neared to the top of the mountain, he could see what looked like three Zora about Mipha's height and what looked to be a red Lynel
"Thank Hylia is just a red one this time," Link said
"what's the matter scared," Revali asked
"No," Link said, not hearing the sarcasm, "just don't want to take too long," Revali just scoffed. as he dived down to help the wayward Zora
Bazz had felt many things in his life, but the fear of fighting a Lynel was new. "Gaddison," Bazz screamed, "you need to get the prince out of here."
"But Bazz," she screamed as the Lynel l pulled out more shock arrows, "if those things hit you there dead, she screamed as she pushed him to the ground. Hearing the best roar made Bazz shiver with fear as he looked to see it charging at them again, but something hit it. Seeing the beast rear back, Bazz looked back, wondering what could have stopped the beast. He looked over to see Link had appeared and shield bashed the Lynel.
"Wait," Gaddison said, "if master Link is here, then."
"Princess Mipha isn't far behind," Rivan called in, rushing up to his friends.
"We're dead," Bazz said, "we are so dead."
"By whom, your father or Mipha," Gaddison asked
"Whoever gets to us first."
Link glanced back, seeing that the Bazz brigade 'there okay," Link muttered as he looked back at the Lynel that now had its attention focused on him. He noticed that Revali was still in the sky with several bomb arrows soon raining down on the Lynel, making it jump back. Seeing the water, Link griped a shock arrow in his hands. He ran at the Lynel, slashing it, forcing it to go back it then sword its sword Link ducked under, jumping on the shield seeing Revali coming from another attack he jumped up seeing this, Revali flew towards him.
"Take this," Link shouted as he tossed the shock arrow to Revali, gripping it in his hands. He looked confused but nodded when he understood Link's getting at him as he pushed the Lynel back. There was a small lake, and Link wanted to end this fast it charged one more time as Link managed to bash it around one more time
seeing his opportunity, Revali shot the shock arrow into the Lynal create, which was enough to catch the Lynel of guard but being immune to elements didn't faze, but Link was able to get on its back due to its confusion gripping the master sword Link swung with all his might and was able to cleave its head off as the monster landed on the ground rolling over
Revali landed next to him smiling "well, if it wasn't for me, this might have gone a different way," he said
"Yeah, thanks, "Link said before rushing over to his childhood friends "you guys okay.
"Not for long," Gaddison muttered
"What do you-" Link stopped when he saw Mipha running up to where they were. He could feel the color draining from them. he had to swallow a lump in his throat as he looked back at the rightfully scared brigade "Sidon wasn't hurt, was he"
"That was the most stupid, reckless, unthinkable thing you could have ever done" after they were healed, Link and Mipha had managed to get the brigade back to the Domina. Fortunately, Seggin wasn't back yet, unfortunately, though Mipha had started to dig into them.
"I don't think I've ever seen her so" Zelda started
"Angry," Urbosa said
"I didn't think she knew how to raise her, voice " Revali said in his time with the champions. He would never have guessed that Mipha, who came off as the nicest person in the whole group, could, in fact, have a breaking point "shouldn't you step in," he said the question was geared towards Link, who shook his head.
"Wait for it," Link said
"What do you."
"I mean, it's either the four of you or Link," Mipha said almost on cue, which gave them a glimpse of understanding.
"I swear if I had hair, it would all be gray by now, thanks to the five of you," Mipha continued.
"Sometimes, I regret telling her that," Link muttered as he walked forward, placing a hand on Mipha's shoulder, "I think you've got your point across, Mipha."
"Come on, Link," Mipha said, "they could have been killed."
"And they weren't," Link reasoned. "I can take care of Bazz and the others," Link said. "I'm sure Dorphan is worried about Sidon" he looked at the young Zora, who had said nothing. He knew how much the young Zora admired his sister and how much it must hurt him to have her give him 'the disappointed look' as he called, "so handle that I'll handle the brigade." he looked as Mipha let out an exhausted sigh.
"Fine," she said, "come now, Sidon."
"Am I in trouble" Sidon asked
"No," Mipha said, "we were just worried about you all" she shot Link a look which he understood as she walked away. He looked at the other champions and Zelda, who was impressed, to say the least.
"You guys okay," Link said, getting their attention
"Coulda did that earlier," Gaddison said
"I had to wait for her to throw something my way or I would have ended up right next to you" Link laughed the amount times she lectured him. He had to be careful when trying to calm her down. "Mind telling me what happened."
"We were just supposed to scout," Rivan told him. "Make sure the Lynel hadn't come back, but."
"The prince followed us because we were with him earlier," Gaddison added, "and you know how he gets."
"well, no one was badly injured," Link said "however, Seggin will have all our heads if you guys aren't given a proper punishment, you agree," they said nothing, only nodding he could tell that they preferred his punishment compared to what Seggin would have in store "so the normal laps around the Domain I think you guys have enough fighting for one day," he said "Rivan Gaddison you guys get started I want to speak with Bazz," he noticed the look of fear come over Zora's face as they looked at him "get moving," Link said.
as they left, Bazz looked to the ground. "Link I."
"I'm not mad," Link said, "I just want to know why you didn't run."
"I thought we could take it," Bazz admitted
Link sighed and shook his head "while I can admire that," Link said, knowing his own history of facing Lynels while still new "you should have run the first chance you got," Link said, placing a hand on Bazz's shoulder "you're a natural leader Bazz I know you're going to do great things" he said, "but you can't do that if you're dead."
"I know," Bazz said
"Good," Link smiled, "and chin up. Sure, you screwed up today but use this as a chance to learn." Link told him, "Got that"
"Yeah," Bazz said
"Alright, get moving" he patted Bazz on the back as he stood up, giving him a nod as he left. He saw his father Seggin had been watching he said nothing.
"You heard Link," Seggin said. He shifted his head as Bazz nodded again. he looked at Link, who quickly bowed.
"Master Seggin," Link said
"You did good, boy," Seggin said. "I can take this from here, handle your duties."
"Yes, sir," Link said as Seggin started to walk away, he turned to see Zelda still standing next to Urbosa. "I apologize, princess."
"No," Zelda said swiftly, "you're fine; I'm just glad everyone's okay."
"That young Zora must really look up to you."
"Yeah," Link said, "come on, it's late," Link said, "I can show you where we'll be staying."
Zelda said nothing but Link's brief encounter with Seggin had unnerved her a bit. She didn't know why but it reminded her of how her father would address her. She looked at Link, who told Urbosa a story from his time in Zora Domain. 'You did good,' Zelda thought. She sighed. The compliment seemed off as she followed Link to where they were walking. though he didn't seem too off by, he seemed to take it in stride
"Yeah," Link's voice hung through the air.
"he's strict, but you know he cares," Link admitted "he wants us to be at our best"
Zelda didn't know why but it made her think about her and her father's relationship 'I wonder if feels he the same.'
And that's the chapter one more, and we will be done with the Act, and well, I have a great idea for what Act IV, so you will find out when I get there.
