Author's note: Nothing new, but thanks for waiting!

"...Marie."
Athena raised an eyebrow, before asking, "Why her, may I ask?"
Patroklos replied, "I always thought she was perky, fearless, and perhaps well deserving of the title of Fated Hero alongside me. Not to mention she's Siegfried and Tristy's daughter, so that's another good thing about her."
The goddess smiled as she said to him, "I am glad you've made your decision, Patroklos. Do find her and break the news."
He smiled back, before exiting his room and preparing to leave the base.

Once outside, he heard a voice. "Where are you going?"
Patroklos turned to see that it was Helen, and he was quick enough to reply, "I'm looking for Marie. Do you know where she went to?"
"She told me that she was heading out to the lake, not to swim, but rather to reflect."
"Thanks for the tip." Patroklos said, both smiling as he went on his way.

Marie had always admired as to how beautiful the lakeside was, even at nighttime. She sighed before closing her eyes and silently recollecting everything that has happened to her, her friends, and even her family.
From learning she and Patroklos were destined to slay Nightmare, to learning more of Viola used to be before her amnesia, to spending the night with Patroklos for the first time, and finally, having her share of battles.
All of this made her smile, but alas, her silence was broken when she heard someone call out to her. "Marie!"
She got up and recognized Patroklos, standing before her. "I wanted to talk to you about something, and I'd hope you'd understand."
"Really? What's that?"
The Greek youth took a deep breath, before he began. "I just wanted to say that I had a hell of a time hanging out, and even fighting alongside you guys. Sure, I think I've made myself a rival in Z.W.E.I., but that's not what's on my mind."
He added, "I really feel like I should say this, from the bottom of my heart. I love you."
Hesaidwhat?
Marie's eyes widened in surprise as his words hit her like crashing into a steel wall, before she ended up smiling almost radiantly. "I...I love you too, Patroklos."
Smiling back, Patroklos wrapped his arms around her, and they shared a gentle, but impassioned lip-lock. A small thought came to the leader, though, when she said, "Don't worry, I brought myself a blanket to cover the ground."
"That's what Lydia and Pyrrha did after swimming. Besides, we wouldn't want any creepy critters like ants interfering things."
Marie nodded, before they laid back on the blanket. She watched as he removed his coat, to which she watched with curious eyes as he disrobed.

Some time later, after making love, as well as enjoying a cool dip in the lake (and making out a bit), Patroklos and Marie returned to the surface. As they stared up at the night sky, thoughts began running through their heads.
Would we ever make it out alive?
Will there be any lives sacrificed?
Will Soul Calibur triumph over Soul Edge?
Regardless, they would finally find sleep together, with Marie snuggling next to Patroklos as his eyes began to close.

And yes, I will be copying and pasting for the last bundle of chapters; I want to make this fic feel like a visual novel, just so you know.
With love for my fans,
