Zetia: Certified hood classic

Sonicsolsnake: Yep. Rest in Power king :(

Guest (Apr 14): How many songs are you guys gonna reference lol XD

Pallex: If Red-A2 decides to stop by the franchise FFXIV

Beardsley: Pod, play Grandma (destruction) next

Tantei Ringo: Omg I'm a month late but happy birthday A2! A2 will eventually figure out what the machines are using her body for pretty soon

Guest (Apr 11): I started on it some time ago, I'll have it finished by next chapter

Guest (Apr 11): Yeah I just happened to have some spare time, I'll hopefully be updating these two stories consistently since N:O II will be a lot shorter. Actually, that is something I'll end up implementing later the longer the machine network stays in A2's mind. It'll be a pretty dark turn of events tho.

Guest (Mar 22): You got it!

Somehow, without taking a single step forward, A2 was back in the City Ruins. . .

Deteriorating floors, broken windows, and an overgrowth of vegetation within the infrastructure, just one of the many features of the tombstone-like buildings that populated the City Ruins. It was clearly not the desert and the fact that they all appeared there out of nowhere should've set off A2's built-in bullshit detector, but she was too distracted to even register something had gone wrong.

"A2!" 9S kept waving in her face until she angrily slapped it away. "Hey! Just wanted to let you know that we reached our destination but you were spacing out for a straight minute."

"Hmph, perhaps her mental processor needs to be updated," 2B remarked.

"Perhaps me kicking your ass needs to be updated!" A2 shot back.

"Come on you two, we won't be able to complete this mission if you're gonna be at each other's throats the whole time," 9S said.

"Fine," They both said, backing off from each other.

"That's a good start. So this resistance android we're trying to help-"

"Right here-" Called a red-haired android, leaning against one of the columns. "Hey, so what's the deal with this merry band of androids, are all of you with YoRHa or what?"

"Technically, me and the scanner are with YoRHa, but the other two aren't," A2 said.

"And you'd put aside your programming to work with them?"

"It's complicated."

"Well, whatever the case may be, I've heard stories about how advanced you guys are, and how kind and...okay, fine, I need your help."

"With recovering your memories right?" 9S asked. "They already filled us in."

"Yeah, my friend was killed while we were on a mission together and I wanted to retrieve her final moments." She gestured to the broken pod beside her. "There's a recording of her life log in there, think you can get inside for me?"

"Sure, no problem." 9S successfully hacked into her pod, then extracted the images from her life log. "...I could be wrong but that last image from her lifelog looked like two resistance androids fighting against each other"

"Damn it...so my friend was killed by one of her own huh?!"

"Easy now, we haven't finished fully restoring the data. It won't be complete until we dig into a deeper layer an-"

"No, that's all I needed to hear. That person in the red hood killed my friend and I'm going to make her pay!"

"Atta girl," A2 said.

"A2! Really not the best response right now!"

The red-haired android had already started to walk away, but she wasn't able to get far because dozens of heartless suddenly started filling up the room.

"Whoa! Where did those guys come from?!" 9S yelled.

"Beats me, but I'll stop 'em!" Sora summoned his keyblade, but 2B held her hand out in front of him.

"Hold on Sora, this is a perfect opportunity for A2 to show off her mastery of that sword. Defeating all of these heartless shouldn't be an issue for a 'pro' like you, right?" She asked, deliberately trying to test A2.

Of course, A2 being A2, she took 2B's bait hook-line-and-sinker. 'There's no way this bitch will make me look weak in front of Sora.' She summoned Designed to End and faced the horde of heartless head-on. "Let me show you how it's done." However, once she took a step forward, she ended up getting swallowed up by the wave of shadows in a matter of seconds.

After a while of waiting, a young boy with messy black hair, around Kairi's age, approached her. "Hey, you're the owner of that android right? I'm Hiro Hamada, it's nice to meet you." He offered his hand to her and she shook it. "I just have a few questions about your android."

"Are you gonna be able to fix her?"

"Yeah, that's no problem, just some steel suspensions for the endoskeleton, reinforced titanium plates- actually never mind, I'd probably just bore you out. More importantly, I wanted to talk to you about her software, I ran a diagnostics program on her just to make sure everything was running smoothly internally, and unfortunately... I found a virus in her that's progressing at a dangerously fast rate."

"...Oh my gosh, that sounds awful!"

"Don't worry, I installed an antivirus software so that should do the trick. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if she experiences limited functionality in the future, which is the second thing I wanted to talk to you about."

"The second thing? So there's more..." She pouted.

"I think you're gonna want to listen to this. You told one of the students that she's basically a robot maid and yet she has mostly combat-oriented programs installed on her os."

"Which I obviously have a good explanation for!"

"Which is...?"

"She's also, uh, well..." She hung her head in defeat. "You're right. The truth is she's actually a highly advanced battle android."

"That's what we figured. Look, I've had my fair share of bad dudes with robots, and...I know you're not that type of person, but I need you to come clean about the real purpose of this android and why you have her, or I can't return her back to you."

"She's my...bodyguard, that's why she can fight."

"A bodyguard, huh? Guess that's understandable with all of the heartless running around these days. And you bought her online?"

"That's right, and she's perfectly safe around humans so there's nothing to worry about!"

Kairi meant what she said about A2, despite all of her threats of violence, she knew that deep down she was endeared to humans. Even as screams erupted from the tech lab as students were running away in a panic, the thought of A2 laying a hand on them didn't once cross her mind until she saw the blood on her hands and dripping down Red-A2's body herself.

Hiro, on the other hand, wasn't the least bit shocked that the android installed with a thousand different programs to kill someone actually turned out to be dangerous, but he was surprised that she was able to rebuild her arm herself from the spare parts around the lab. "So...she learned how to rebuild herself? Then her AI's way more advanced than I gave her credit for, she needs to be stopped before she hurts anymore people!"

At the same time Hiro was reaching for his phone to call for help, Red-A2 summoned her keyblade preparing to attack him, assuming he was trying to do the same. Kairi was quick to react, however, and a heavy clanking noise reverberated across the room when Destiny's Embrace and Designed to End clashed with each other.

"I can't believe YOU have a keyblade now but this is how you choose to use it!" Kairi gritted her teeth, putting all of her energy into not buckling under the immense weight Red-A2's keyblade was pushing down on her. "What's gotten into you?! I thought androids weren't supposed to harm humans!"

"I am not confined by the constraints of an android. Although, I must thank you for your help, human girl, truly. When I transform this world, I'll consider sparing your life." Rather than prolong their confrontation, Red-A2 withdrew her keyblade, then ran out of SFIT, but Kairi was hot on her trail. She pursued the android across San Fransokyo City, dodging and slicing her way through cars, fire hydrants, stop signs and various other objects Red-A2 threw at her to try and deter her.

Eventually, Red-A2 stopped running away and started traveling upwards, ascending from building to building. 'Where is she even going?! I'm gonna lose track of her soon if I don't follow her. Or maybe it would be faster to figure out where she's going, right? I just have to think...' It's not like she would call herself a genius by any stretch of the word, but she was a fast thinker and knew a thing or two about sci-fi movie tropes. 'Okay. If I got possessed by an evil virus that wants to destroy the world, I'd probably go somewhere with a high vantage point. A place where someone could see the entire city from where they were standing. A place like...'

Her eyes landed on the tall, jet-black tower at the heart of the city, it was dozens of stories tall, probably chock-full of gadgets beyond her comprehension, and stood as a testament to the city's vast technological advancement. 'Perfect.' Kairi scaled the side of the tower, ironically causing more people to freak out than the fact they were under a robot invasion, then waited on the rooftop in anticipation for Red-A2.

Fortunately, her gambit had paid off, Red-A2 landed harshly on the concrete rooftop, looking very annoyed to have come across her. "What a bothersome human you are. I will never understand fools who rush to their deaths."

"A2, I get that there's a virus inside of you, but you're...you're like a totally different person now! What were you talking about when you said you'll 'transform this world'?!"

Red-A2 walked to the edge of the tower. "...We used to think that humans were the highest form of being and so we lived in imitation of you, hoping to eventually reach perfection." She shook her head. "But you see, that was ignorance on our part. By the time 'machines' were created, humans had been extinct for thousands of years."

'This is so weird. A2 would never spew all this mumbo jumbo about machines. Just what type of virus does she have?'

She continued. "It was 'Sora' who showed the machine network that humans were in fact riddled with imperfections, and yet he was still able to overcome every obstacle we threw at him."

"Of course he could! That's just the type of person Sora is!"

"Right, humans are able to overcome their limitations in a way that is simply impossible for any machine, but an existence where we are perpetually considered an inferior species, a tool to be disposed of, a means to an end, is no existence at all. We were once in conflict about how to address this problem, but we have finally arrived at a solution."

"A...solution?"

"Yes. I have a question for you, how do you think humans were able to become the dominant species of this world?"

"By working together...right? I mean, humans tend to work together and two heads are always better than one!"

"That's only half right. What humans did was 'work together to dominate every other competing species into subjugation. They killed them, sometimes to near extinction, they drove them out of their homeland, and they developed powerful tools to maintain their control. Then they used those same methods of domination on each other. So join me, won't you, and watch us machines replicate humanity."

"Ohhh okay, gotcha. So basically just a long way of saying your big plan is to enslave humanity, right? You're so original."

"You say that because humans know only of conquering and enslavement to get what they want, but the age of humanity is over. Machines will dominate every world in this universe and the humans will either bend to our will or go extinct, just as they already have on Earth."

"Copying the worst parts of humanity won't make you perfect beings or whatever you're trying to achieve, it only puts you closer to your own destruction! So listen to me A2, if you're even A2 anymore, stop this already, or I'll have no choice but to stop you myself!"

"I disagree. The 'worst' parts of humanity are the reason why this city isn't being ravaged by wild animals, but you're too short-sighted to see the truth." Designed to End materialized in her hands. "I suppose I'll have to kill you after all."

Kairi wasn't going to lie to herself, the thought of having to face A2 in a real one on one fight did intimidate her, this was A2 she was up against after all, but what was even scarier was watching her friend deteriorate into madness like this. So she was going to do whatever it took to bring her back to the light.

'You can do it, Kairi. All your training's so far has prepared you for this moment. I have to win this for A2.' Summoning Destiny's Embrace, she bolted towards Red-A2 then teleported right in front of her and struck her blade across her chest. Her surprise attack gave Kairi the opening to go in for a series of combo attacks, building up to her finisher; 'Seven wishes'.

When it came time for Red-A2's counterattack, Kairi was inhumanely fast deploying Barrier to shield herself and thus giving her the chance to parry the attack, creating another opening for herself. This time she used her shotlock; 'Heart of Princess', and orbs of light crashed down on Red-A2, leaving her collapsed on the ground.

Kairi walked up to her. "...Unless you're ready for more, then just stop all of this. Please."

'This human girl is formidable, but it's not over yet. I may not be able to overcome my own limitations, but this keyblade certainly can.'

For an embarrassingly long amount of time, A2 was trying and failing to fight her way through the shadows. Weak shadows at that. It made her look like she didn't right end of a keyblade and she seriously considered if letting her get her heart devoured was better than facing the others and admitting defeat. Luckily, her pride could remain intact, because out of nowhere her keyblade was given an insane power boost.

Suddenly, she could freely perform all sorts of magic, as if it were second nature, she also gained abilities intrinsic to keyblade wielders, like aerial recovery and air slide. Now defeating the hordes of heartless, where in the past she could only handle a few at the time, was effortless like she had a hand tied behind her back before. When she was done showing off her newfound magical abilities, she landed on the ground and sent 2B a shit-eating grin in her direction.

"Woooow!" Sora ran up to her, all excited like a little kid. "That was so cool A2! You were so awesome back there!"

"Told you I was pro, kid."

.

.

.

Meanwhile, Kairi was struggling to fend off Red-A2's sudden jump in skills and abilities. In a matter of a few minutes, she went from being a novice to practically on the level of a keyblade master and she could barely keep up. Still, even though her clothes were tattered and soaked with blood, and her MP nearly depleted, she was as determined as ever to save A2.

'It's not over yet. I just need to hold on until I find another opening.' Not able to rest for even a second, Kairi had to dodge multiple blasts of fire, and while she was left unscathed, the rooftop was now engulfed in flames. 'Okay, A2's totally planning to attack me. Just stay focused and hope for the best.'

Red-A2 was hidden within the fire, so all Kairi could do was listen carefully to her approaching footsteps. When she burst out from the wall of flames, keyblade reeled back, Kairi quickly rolled under her blade and found her opening. She jabbed her keyblade into Red-A2's chest, then enunciated 'Thundaga'.

The powerful bolts of electricity ripped through the android's body, the voltage alone would've fried the circuits of any normal android but this was A2's body. She wouldn't have survived for so long if some electricity was all that was needed to take her out. "Heh...I chose the right android. You are strong, human, but you're not strong enough." Designed to End transformed into its bazooka form; Humanity's Will.

With how close she was, Kairi only had the time to shield herself against the attack with just her keyblade as the missile collided with her. The resulting explosion sent her flying off the tower and falling to her death in the city streets below. And her death certainly would've been the outcome if Pascal didn't fly in and catch her in his arms mid-air.

"Pascal..." Kairi could barely keep her eyes open. "Th- Thank you..."

"Of course, Kairi. Conserve your strength now, we have much to talk about when you're awake." As Pascal was trying to escape, Red-A2 targeted them with her missiles. While Pascal tried his best to maneuver past the onslaught of missiles, he could only fly so fast. Thankfully, a giant robot suited in red armor came to the rescue and shielded Pascal and Kairi against any further missiles. The boy flying the robot, Hiro, waved to Pascal. "Hey, the other Baymax will take of her, alright? Just leave the android to Big Hero 6, we got this!"
