SAND SIBLINGS SUPER STAR SUGAR SAGA! (Of doom)
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
"Once upon a time, there was a prince named Gaara."
"Why are all the stories always about Gaara, Temari!"
"Shut up and lemme tell the story! Okay, so, there was a prince named Gaara, and his… uhh… pet… bat… that could magically transform into a… man. Yeah."
"What was the magical bat that could transform into a man's name!"
"Kankurou."
"Was Kankurou a pirate! Did he have magical fairy dust and lemonade fountains and-"
"No-"
"-and and and was he a pimp with 20 000 hoes!"
"KANKUROU!"
Temari smiled fondly, reminiscing of the old days, when the three siblings, Gaara, Kankurou, and Temari had been younger- every night, Kankurou and Gaara would get a visit from the Magical Story Fairy, as their father, the Kazekage, had so sarcastically called the eldest sister.
Gaara and Kankurou had shared a room at the time, and Temari would sit between her younger brothers and tell a tall tale of princes and rescue missions and of happy endings as she stared up at the ceiling, smiling.
"And so, Kankurou, the magical bat who could transform into a man helped Prince Gaara rescue Princess Temari from the evil… Pottery Robber… ehehehe… who had kidnapped… Baron Yashamaru and King Kazekage… and… they all lived happily ever after."
"The end!"
Kankurou had always been eager to interrupt her, demanding she make the Kankurou character more glorious- and at the end of the story, he always insisted on saying 'The end'.
"And so, Kankurou the Magician Lord successfully pulled the bunny, Gaara from Temari's hat! And they all lived happily ever after. The end!"
"Awww, Temari, you didn't let me say it!"
"Oh, grow up, Kankurou."
"TEMARIIIIII-"
"Fine. And so, Kankurou the Magician Lord successfully pulled the bunny, Gaara, from Temari's hat! And they all lived happily ever after."
"THE END!"
Remembering, now, Kankurou's eagerness and satisfaction in speaking the final words, Temari was reminded of how now, in the present, he always wanted the last word, and the last laugh.
She remembered, also, how Gaara had listened quietly and intently, looking annoyed every time Kankurou interrupted, and how he seemed fascinated with the censored-for-society patterns of the cheery fables.
Gaara hadn't changed much since- still quiet, but much more confident- and as Kazekage, NICER, more HUMAN- but he'd definitely lost interest in the Kankurou Stories, as he'd so bitterly come to think of them.
Temari, though, was certainly the one who missed the stories the most.
"Temari!"
The blonde sand-nin swiveled around on her spinny chair in her room, facing the door, to see Kankurou, snapping back to reality.
"We're hungry, Temari!"
Temari rolled her eyes. She pushed the chair away from her desk- a stack of papers with a mere few doodles on the fronts sat on top- and stood.
"I'm hungry, too."
Author's Note: I realize Little Kankurou may seem slightly out of character, and that this whole chapter may seem slightly oneshot-like, but bear with me- if I get some good reviews, I'll keep going!
Also, the title is unrelated to the first chapter, but I might either change it later or go with my current ideas and make it relate later on.
To anyone who's been reading my other ShikaIno ficcie; I've murdered the fic with laziness and doubt I'll be going back to it, unless it's out of extreme boredom.
However, I've got a reason for writing this fic, so I don't plan on giving up on it. ;
R&R, please!
Sharkie.
