VACCINES

The doctor tried to press a needle into little Eijiro's shoulder, only for the needle to snap against his hardened skin. With a sigh, the doctor got a new needle.

"Now, Eijiro, be a good little boy and stop using your Quirk so the nice doctor can give you your shot."

"No!" Eijiro shouted, with tears welling in his eyes. "I don't wanna! It's scary!"

His mother sighed and said, "I'm sorry doctor, I don't know what to do."

His father cleared his throat and said, "Step aside, dear, I got this." He bent down to Eijiro and said, "You want to know what's super manly?"

Eijiro's tears stopped immediately. "What?"

"Getting your vaccines."

"Really?"

The father chuckled. "Of course! The manliest of men bare their shoulder to the world and take the needle with a grin!"

Eijiro practically ripped his t-shirt off. "I'm the manliest man ever! Hit me, doc!"

Not one to miss an opportunity, the doctor jabbed the needle in. Eijiro held his face transfixed in a pained grin even after the doctor slapped on a band-aid.

"There, all finished!"

Eijiro stared at his shoulder in awe. "Really? I didn't even feel that!"

"That's my champ!" his father said. "You took it like a man."

"Yep! I'm the manliest man ever!"

In the next room over, the doctor stood stupefied amidst the smoking ruins of his room. Bakugo stood on top of a cabinet, hand crackling, while his mother ascended a pile of burnt chairs trying to reach him.

"Get back here you little snot and take your shot!"

"Never! The government's putting microchips in them! I won't let them reprogram my brain to accept our machine overlords!"

In another room, the doctor stepped back as Mina broke out into a nervous sweat, melting a hole straight to the floor. Her father sighed and said, "I'll get the baking soda out of the car."

Two rooms down, Dark Shadow cowered away from the doctor, with giant tears dripping out of his glowing yellow eyes.

"So scary!" Dark Shadow wailed. "Keep it away from me!"

Little Tokoyami sat stoically in the hospital bed and said, "You're not even the one getting the vaccine."

Across the hall, the doctor stared baffled at the empty hospital bed. "Uh, sir? Are you sure she's actually there?"

Hagakure's dad scratched his head. "Now that you mention it, she was really quiet on the car ride over here."

In the furthest room, the doctor set the vaccine on the table. "Alright, here's your booster shot."

"What is its purpose?" little Izuku asked.

"To protect you from viruses."

"Understood."

Izuku snatched the syringe off the table and chomped on it. After swallowing, he said, "Downloading antivirus software. Download complete. Initiating scan of files for any malicious software. Malicious software detected in antivirus software. Now purging antivirus software."

Izuku threw up shards of glass, a twisted metal needle, and a small puddle of vaccine juice. The doctor sighed and said, "I'll get another one."

This slight deviation in the timeline has been brought to you by the COVID vaccine that's currently making my life hell.

Side-note: also got my blood drawn this morning for a check-up. Just a bit after they took the needle out, I felt myself getting light-headed. My vision went blurry, and everything went dark. When I came to, I was swarmed by five doctors. My blood pressure was at 90/60. Had some apple juice and cookies, and walked it off. Fun times.

But hey, I'm alive! …for now.
