CAPTCHA
"What now, Deku?" Katsuki crowed as he shoved a computer screen into Izuku's face. "The greatest threat to mankind, stumped by a simple grid of pictures!"
Izuku scanned the screen before him, then tapped five tiles. Katsuki grinned and shouted, "See! You screwed it up! Once again, mankind's greatest defense triumphs!"
A green checkmark lit up the screen, and the tablet logged into Katsuki's bank account. Katsuki stared dumbfounded at it and shouted, "What is this bullshit? That tile didn't have a crosswalk on it!"
"Actually," Izuku said, "Exactly two pixels were on the top right corner of tile B5."
"Give me that!" Katsuki pulled up another captcha. He clicked on the motorcycle, only to have the captcha reject him.
"That's not a motorcycle, that's an electric scooter," Izuku remarked. "The motorcycle's in A4 and A5, behind that black van."
Kaminari squinted at it. "How can you even tell?"
"There are eight pixels of the bike's shadow underneath the van."
"You know what?" Katsuki ripped the tablet out of his hands. "The pictures are stupid. I've got a better idea." He pulled up his credit card account, and it put up a blurry picture of a word. "There. No way you'll be able to figure out-"
"Done," Izuku said. "Wow, you have a lot of outstanding charges for electromagnets. Are you working on a science experiment?"
"That is classified information!" Katsuki cancelled all the payments and whispered in his phone, "Abort mission, the machines know." Then he cleared his throat. "That must have been a fluke. This one will stop you for sure!"
Kaminari squinted at the new word. "Is that an S or a 5?"
Katsuki glared at Kaminari. "You better watch your step, robot."
"Seriously? Tell me if you can figure out that word and I'll admit I'm a robot. Go on."
"Piece of cake," Katsuki snarled. He typed in the word, and it failed. "Stupid keyboard, I hit the wrong one." He tried again, and once again, a red X greeted him.
"Well Katsuki?" Kaminari wiggled his eyebrows. "Maybe we're the robots, and Izuku's the human."
The tablet fell from Katsuki's limp fingers. Izuku picked it up, instantly keyed in the correct letters, and opened the account. "It was neither an S nor a 5, Kaminari. It was, in fact, a Z."
"Oh, so that's why it looked backwards!"
Katsuki stared absently in front of him. After a moment of silence, Kaminari waved his hand in front of his face. "Hey dude, you still in there? I was kidding about that whole 'we're robots' comment." With a cheeky grin, he added, "You didn't bluescreen on us, did you?"
Katsuki grabbed Kaminari by the shoulders and stared him dead in the eyes. "Don't you see? It all makes so much sense now! The robots are replacing us. When humans can no longer enter the captchas and robots need to do it for them… they'll be the humans and we'll be the robots!"
"Dude, get some sleep."
