So just a quick update: It has been a while since I updated the story, but I am back (for now). Yes, I do plan on finishing the story, but on 1/14/22, I will be getting my wisdom teeth removed, so I'm taking a week of from everything to recover. With that out of the way, enjoy the next chapter. It may be short, but quite a bit happens.
Lucina finally arrives at Lucario's room, however the door is already open. As Lucina steps into the room, she once again screams at the horror she discovers. It was Lucario's body. This time, however, the body wasn't covered in stab wounds. Instead, she found Lucario dead by strangulation. Everyone on that side of the mansion rushed into the room, while the other half followed Chrom. As he arrived, he stood in shock at the sight of Mewtwo's lifeless body with 28 stab wounds. Everyone in the mansion is now terrified, but Chrom once again assumes the leadership role, leading everyone to the dining hall. Lucina does the same. As they all meet up, they begin their discussion.
"What were you two doing out of your rooms? Didn't you say to stay put for the day?" Mario lashes out.
"We thought we could use Lucario and Mewtwo to find the killer, but by the time we arrived, they were both dead." Lucina responds as calmly as possible.
"That doesn't matter, you let yourself be an exception to your own rules. That hardly seems fair!" Mario replies.
"Shut up you stupid, Italian plumber! They had a smart idea, I don't see you coming up with any plans other than jumping on something's head!" Donkey Kong chimes in.
"So what should we do?" Luigi asks.
Lucina responds, saying "I think it has something to do with the mafia game we played yesterday, but I don't think the killers are the ones from the game."
"How can you be so sure?" Samus interrogates.
"I think there's only one murderer. If there were 4, like in the game, more of us would be dead." Lucina responds.
"Should we take a vote?" Ridley asks.
"Are you crazy! That would mean that we'd be killing people too. It would turn us against each other!" Sonic calls out.
"Shut it, hedgehog. We're already turned against each other." King K. Rool replies.
Before any more arguing can continue, the lights suddenly go out, causing some to scream, including Joker, but for a different reason.
"Oh shit, my gun is gone!" Joker screamed, trying to warn everyone. However, it was too late. As soon Joker called out, three gunshots rang out, causing mass panic to ensue. When the lights suddenly turned back on, there was more screaming, as three people had been shot, two of them dead, one injured.
"Pyra!" Link called out, beginning to cry, as Pyra was a good friend to him. From the other side of the room, another person cried out.
"Little Diddy!" Donkey Kong cries out, furiously, "Who did this!"
"Oh my god, Joker! Are you alright?" Lucina asked.
"Yep, just a scratch." Joker replies.
"A scratch?! You got shot! There's a bullet inside of you! We need to get you some help. Dr. Mario! Dr. Mario!" Lucina calls out.
"Mamma mia! He needs medical treatment, and quickly. Let's take him to the infirmary!"
"Ok, let's go." Lucina replies. The two left, carrying Joker to the infirmary, while the others were either in shock or mourning the loss of two more fighters.
