Chapter 11
Blake
"So where did Reese go?" Yang asks.
"He went to rescue Weiss." Jaune says.
"Why didn't you go with him?" Yang asks Winter.
"You know why." Winter says back.
"I see." Yang says.
"And remember what jaune said. Reese was trained to handle hostage rescue scenarios." Winter says.
Knock knock.
Winter immediately turned around and drew her gun.
"Identity yourself." Winter says.
Silence at first.
"Hunter 1-1." Was the reply.
"Who is that?" Yang asks.
"It's Reese." Winter says back.
Winter opens the door to see both Reese and Weiss, Reese was looking at Winter but Weiss on the other hand looked at her feet.
"Report." Winter says.
Reese then looks at Yang then he holds up five fingers.
"Not here." Reese says.
Winter, Weiss, and Reese then walked to the master bedroom where they can talk in private.
"What's happening?" Nora asks.
"Reese told me that every time he comes back from a mission he has to debrief first before he can see me." Yang says.
"YOU DID WHAT?" Winter shouted.
Everyone jumped when they heard that.
Four minutes later Reese comes out of the room and closed the door behind him.
"Patty look for Blake." Reese says.
Reese then takes a seat next to Yang and rubs his head.
"Well what happened?" Nora asks.
"Let me put it to you this way. We have been set up." Reese says.
"By who?" Ren asks.
"Ironwood." Reese says.
"The General?" Jaune asks.
"The same." Reese says.
"Wait a second where is Qrow?" Yang asks.
"If I had to guess he is either captured or dead. I highly doubt that he is dead. ironwood would use him as a distraction or as a bargaining chip." Reese says.
"So what condition are we in?" Yang asks with a serious tone.
"If I had to guess. We are at the starting stage of a war." Reese says.
"What does that mean?" Jaune asks.
"It means that if one side gains a tactical advantage one side would lose. And currently we are losing." Reese says.
"So who are we fighting?" Ren asks.
Reese looks at him.
"From what I can tell the black queen, but the most pressing matter is ironwood." Reese says.
"Oh I see." Nora says.
"Speaking of witch. Does anyone know who the black queen is?" Reese asks.
"Yeah. Best I can describe she is tall with pure white skin black dress and red eyes, oh and she spoke with a gentle voice but she had a commanding presence." Yang says.
"You saw her?" Reese asks.
"Yep and all she did was talk to Ruby." Yang says.
"About?" Reese asks.
"The truth about Ozpin." Yang says.
"She might be using psychological warfare to throw you off." Reese says.
"But what she mainly said is how he was hiding something, like how the events of how Ruby got into Beacon in the first place, then she mentioned summer rose." Yang says.
That last part caught Reese's attention.
"What did she say?" Reese asks knowing how sensitive the subject was to Yang and Ruby.
"She said that Summer is alive." Yang says as she clenched her fists.
Reese then stands up and walks around in silence.
"I think I know what she is trying to do." Reese says.
"And that is?" Weiss asks as she comes out of the bedroom.
"She is going to break Ruby." Reese says.
"That's not possible. Salem could never break Ruby." Yang says.
"So black queen has a name, anyway it's very possible to break someone." Reese says.
"How?" Yang asks.
"Do you want to know?" Reese asks.
"Yes I do want to know." Yang says.
"There are two ways first one is you physically break them I.e you don't let them sleep, or you zap them with electricity to induce pain, I heard there was a way to use someone's pleasure center in their brain as a way to break them." Reese says.
"What's the other way?" Yang asks.
"The other way is you break them mentally that I don't know how that is done." Reese says.
Meanwhile somewhere at an unknown location on Remnant.
Ruby woke up and the first thing she noticed was that she was chained up, second she was in a dark location, third there are Grimm looking at her but they didn't move.
Then the door opens and Salem walks in and looks at Ruby.
"Where am I?" Ruby asks.
"Your in a location where nobody is going to find you." Salem says with a mad look in her face.
Ruby stood her ground and looked back.
"Brave girl but unfortunately your going to be changed." Salem says.
"I'll never change you can't make me!" Ruby shouts.
"Oh you will. Your friend changed and now she works for me." Salem says as she charges lighting in her hand.
Back at Reese.
"So how do you know how to break someone?" Yang asks.
"Remember when I told you I stayed up for 100 hours." Reese says.
"Yeah and what was it for?" Yang asks.
"It was a torture simulation they gave me something to remember and to not give it away, so they keep me awake for 100 hours by zapping me with electricity just tinny jolts, then they played really annoying music, let's see what else did they do oh yeah they rapidly raised the temperature of the room then they dropped it to cold temperatures in like one minute intervals." Reese says.
"Did you pass?" Weiss asks.
"Well if I remember correctly to pass you need to survive 60 hours." Reese says.
"So you did and then some, who did the next 40 hours to you?" Jaune asks.
"I can't remember it's been a while." Reese says.
In reality Reese knew who it was but he didn't want to call her out.
"Found Blake." Patty says.
"Where is she?" Reese says.
"She is located 10 miles from here they are making a temporary stop." Patty says.
"Lets go get her!" Yang says as she arms her gauntlet.
"You're not going anywhere." Reese says as he puts on his helmet.
"What do you mean she is my partner." Yang says.
"And your my wife , your dad instructed me to keep you safe by any means." Reese says.
"So you're going to keep me out of the fight?" Yang asks.
"Yes I am I understand the White Fang intelligence network and if they know where Blake is, they know who is close to her and they plan on hurting them, and you're on that list." Reese says.
Yang then takes a moment to think.
"Go get her back." Yang says.
Reese then grabbed his weapons and jumped out the window and he got on his motorcycle and hit it as fast as he could.
Meanwhile at Blake.
Blake's vision was still a little hazy but she knew that her hands were bound and she was bleeding a little from her head.
"Hey! Who hurt her?" Someone said, someone Blake was all to familiar with.
BOOM! BOOM! THUMP!
Just then Blake felt her hair get grabbed and lifted up and her vision is filled with white and red outlines that made up most of Adam's mask.
"A Adam I saw you die." Blake says.
"You saw wrong I lost an arm that day to someone who didn't hit me right." Adam says as he lifted up his new arm.
"Should've hit you harder then." Blake says.
"Well I'm going to find whoever did this to me but first I have to finish what I started at Beacon I'm going to get the blonde woman who you like then hurt her in front of you." Adam says.
"You must be very confused. She is married to the guy who removed your arm." Blake says.
Meanwhile outside approximately 50 meters from the camp.
"Patty how many?" Reese asks.
"80 tangos." she replied.
Reese knew that single handedly he could take on 40 of them and win, but if all of them gang up on him it's game over. Reese then takes a scan of the outfit the white fang wares and the armor changes into the uniform that they wear.
"Time to take them out one by one." Reese says.
Reese then saw a pair of guards walking past his position.
"Hey you see anything out here?" One of them asks.
"Nope nothing out here." Reese says back.
"Ok keep up the good work." The other said.
The two guards then got two steps then they realized that they didn't know the newcomer.
"Hey who are yo…" he was about to say but his head was removed from his body and his partner got a similar fate.
"Patty target the isolated guards and make them target one." Reese says.
"Done." Patty says.
Reese then went to work.
Five minutes later.
"So what are you planning to do?" Blake asks.
"We are going to set up a trap to get the two you talked about and make them suffer, then take down the CEO of the SDC." Adam says.
"Humm not going to work." Blake says.
"What do you mean? The ambush tactics we use are perfect." Adam says.
Blake said nothing, but her eyes intensely fixed to a point where a living guard once stood.
A wave of panic washed Adams mind. "Everyone check in!" Adam over the radio.
"Patrol here- nothing here so far." echoed across the radio channel.
"Patrol 2 here-nothing here." Echoed another.
"Rat patrol 3 check in." Adam says.
Nothing.
"Rat 3 come in!" Adam said with increased panic.
"Looks like he is here. The hunter that was designed to hunt white fang. Is here to get you." Blake says with a grin.
"Everyone come to the tent!" Adam ordered.
The last of the elite guards came to the tent and surrounded it back to back.
"Who are they? I've never seen them?" Blake asks.
"They are viper squad. They are very devoted to the white fang cause. They have done a lot of things for me just so I can achieve my goal." Adam says.
"Like what?" Blake asks.
"Well they kidnaped Whitley then they stormed an embassy in vale." Adam says.
"Hate to break it to you but they failed on both events." Blake says.
"What do you mean?" Adam says angrily.
"Well with Whitley he was rescued a few hours after you nabbed him, then the embassy well your guys had it for 30 minutes but it was taken back swiftly." Blake says.
"What!? How?" Adam says.
"It was probably done by the same guy who is right now dispatching your followers." Blake says.
Adam then turns to the Viper squad.
"OPEN FIRE!" Adam shouts.
Viper squad then let loose with their firearms spraying the grass in front of them.
"Let's see if he can survive that." Adam says with a grin.
Blake's eyes were wide open.
Then it stopped, everyone was tense. Then there was movement then viper squad opened fire again, then a body fell.
"Check it." Adam ordered.
One of them approaches the corpse and takes a look.
"It's one of ours." Viper six says.
Adam then looks confused.
Just then there was a rustle of leaves and viper squad then looks up just in time to see a black armor figure with red eyes looking at them and he was holding a katana in one hand and a combat knife in the other.
"Oh damn!" Viper three says before he sees black.
"One down. Three more to go." Reese says.
Then with blinding speed Reese then engaged the next one and just like the last one, he wasn't ready for Reese's speed.
WHOOSH!
Reese then threw his knife at the next one and he got hit in the abdomen so one was out of the fight for the moment.
The last one was ready for Reese with his sword.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! KICK SLICE!
Reese then got the critical hit in and the big guy dropped.
"YOU BASTARD!" The last one shouted.
Reese then jumped in the air and brought his foot down.
CRUNCH!
Reese then looks up and addresses the tent.
"You have something I want, so give it back and it's very important to my team, asshole." Reese says.
Adam then comes out with Blake in front of him, and he has a knife to her throat. Blake has a look of disbelief on her face she sees Reese in his armor covered in stuff she doesn't want to know about.
"Coward." Reese says.
"Says the guy who wears armor that does all sorts of things." Adam says back.
"Says the guy who hides among innocence when he carries out his plans." Reese says.
BOOM!
Reese then drops.
"NO!" Blake shouts.
"HHAHAHA! Dirty tricks always work, the days of fighting head on are now gone." Adam says.
Reese doesn't move.
Blake is now crying.
"And now your decisions got you killed, what do you say about that." Adam says.
Reese whispers something.
"What was that?" Adam asks while he moves closer.
Reese then tosses a rock and as expected Adam moves out of it's way, then Reese shoves Blake out of the way and at the same time he tackles Adam to the ground.
"WHY WON'T YOU STAY DEAD!" Reese shouts as he punches Adam.
Adam then deploys his sword from his arm and gets a good strike on Reese.
"GAHHHH!" Reese shouts as he gets thrown off.
"WARNING ARMOR BREACHED!" The heads up display says.
What Blake saw was Reese got slashed on his torso area and looks like blood came out.
"Looks like your armor is out of date, my weapon is designed to go through it, now I'll take care of you then, I'll kill your wife." Adam says.
At that word Reese started to move.
"Patty hit me." Reese says.
"If I do that you'll lose a lot of blood and you might die." Patty says.
"Just do it!" Reese says with a spike of anger.
"Done." Patty says.
Reese in one move got up and ran right at Adam.
Adam then moved his weapon in time to impale Reese in his shoulder.
CRUNCH!
Both Reese and Adam were standing then Adam slumped to the ground and blood is pouring from his new chest wound, Blake then saw that Reese was holding Adams still beating heart.
CRUNCH!
Reese then squeezed the heart so that it blew up in his hands.
"Get up from that." Reese says.
Blake then runs to Reese.
"What were you thinking you could have died." Blake says through tears.
"Yeah I could have. Now could you help me remove this weapon from my chest so Patty can get to work." Reese says as he sits down.
"You know it's going to hurt right?" Blake says.
"Yep." Reese says as he gets ready.
YANK!
"AHHHH!" Reese said.
"Now what?" Blake asks.
"Now I do this." Reese says as he plunges a needle into his torso.
"What does that do?" Blake asks.
"It accelerates the cells in my body to start repairing my body from damage but it only works in one area, so you're going to have to help me back." Reese says.
"Ok where are your weapons?" Blake asks.
"Well in a fist fight the smg got destroyed so all I had left was my knife and katana." Reese says.
"Right now which way to the car?" Blake asks.
"That way 100 yards away." Reese says as he picks up a weapon from the ground and puts his arm under Blake's shoulder.
An hour later.
Blake was now at the hotel but she had a problem. During the ride Reese passed out during the ride.
She then threw him on her back and filled with adrenaline ran up to the penthouse.
KNOCK!KNOCK!KNOCK!
"Who is it?" Yang asks.
"It's me Blake Reese is in bad condition." Blake says.
The door then flew open and Yang saw the blood on Blake's shirt and a passed out Reese.
"Move it." Winter orders.
Blake then gave Reese to winter and she moved him to the master bedroom and closed the door.
"What's going to happen?" Blake asks.
"Don't know but in a few hours he will live or he dies." Yang says with tears in her eyes.
