DUEL

Bakugo tensed, one hand on his katana. Across from him, Izuku slid into a relaxed stance. From the side of the arena, Ojiro shouted, "Start!"

In a flash, Bakugo blasted forward, slashed, and slid to a stop. His katana clinked as he sheathed it. Then he heard a tinkling sound. Drawing his katana, Bakugo found it cut cleanly at the hilt. He upended his hilt, and a pile of metal shards clattered at his feet.

"That was just a warmup!" Bakugo said as he pulled another katana out of his hakama. "Again!"

Bakugo slashed again. This time, when he stopped, his katana ended halfway up the blade with a jagged bite mark. Izuku chewed noisily.

"That was just a decoy! Witness the power of the legendary blade, Masamune, forged in the heart of a volcano and quenched with the blood of the great serpent Orochi!"

Bakugo swung. The blade bent around Izuku's head like tinfoil. Izuku grabbed the sword and tied it into an intricate knot.

"There. Now it is a giraffe."

Bakugo scoffed and tossed it aside. "Screw this. We're going to duel American style."

Bakugo drew a pistol and walked forward ten paces. He turned and fired. The first bullet bounced off Izuku's forehead. Izuku caught the second in his mouth and chewed it like a Tic-Tac.

Izuku's arm morphed into a plasma cannon. A viridian beam engulfed Bakugo's pistol, reducing it to a pile of slag.

"That one didn't count. You used a cannon, not a pistol!"

"Actually, my mother's patent does not indicate whether or not-"

"Nobody cares, robot! This time, we're going to have a real duel! Prepare yourself! Because it's time to D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!"

Bakugo's dueling disk lit up as it unfolded, and he plugged his deck of Yugioh cards into it. Drawing a hand, Bakugo smirked and said, "Behold the power of my bullshit meta deck! First, I summon Formula Synchron, and then…"

Fifteen minutes later…

"And that ends my turn!" Bakugo crowed as Slifer, Ra, and Obelisk towered before him. "Now play your pathetic card and perish!"

"Okay."

Izuku drew a card. Five slots opened in Izuku's forehead and each of his limbs. Five cards floated out of Izuku's hand and jammed themselves inside the slots. As Izuku lit up, his limbs grew outwards. Glowing green chains burst out of his wrists and ankles, and a radiant, striped crown grew around Izuku's head.

As Izuku towered over the three Egyptian gods, he said, "I have Exodia the Forbidden One. I win."

A brilliant green ball of plasma, as though Izuku had plucked the sun from the sky, dunked it in food coloring, and squeezed it between his hands, shot forward. As his side of the field disintegrated, Bakugo howled with rage and shielded his eyes.

Bakugo stood on a tiny column of rock in the middle of a massive crater. Coughing up a cloud of ash, Bakugo said, "This game is bullshit."
