I'm back once again with another chapter of Remnant Unleashed everybody. For the record, I want you all to know that for the moment, I will be sticking to the events of RWBY but towards the end of volume 1, I will bring in some Star Wars elements.
I bet a lot of you wanted me to have Galen become the fifth member of Team RWBY, making it Team RWGBY and some what of a harem. Well let me once again assure you all that wasn't the plan on both parts and I really hate harems. Unless it's the harem that is where the guy is clueless about the girls feelings for him or the harem that is more of a team and they fight together.
Now onto the reviews.
Mr. Shades42: Trust me, these clones won't follow Order 66 because they know the truth.
Jack Smith1: If you haven't checked out my user name, I love Clone Troopers. They are far superior to Stormtroopers. Plus, seeing as there are several clones whose fate wasn't given before Disney took over the series, I thought it would be a nice change. Plus, I'm going to include a few troopers from the Disney universe with a few changes to some of the troopers how died in the war. It's a thing I do, changing the fates of certain characters I like.
Hamilton406: I haven't thought that far ahead about Galen trusting Ozpin or not.
Blastjptr345: Seeing as this is in the Legends universe of Star Wars, I figured I would bring in some clones with my own personal touches to their fates.
Alright, that should be it for reviews. Let's get this on with the story. Disclaimers are the same as always, please enjoy.
Chapter 7: The Badge and Burden
It was around six the following morning when Galen awoke. The rest of Team GARM was still fast asleep as Galen changed into his basic attire, which much to his surprise was repaired after all the damage it took before he came to Remnant. (A/N his attire for now is the Jedi Adventure Robes.) He also grabbed his Beacon uniform, which consisted of a black suit lined with gold, blue vest, white shirt and red tie. At first, Galen didn't want to even wear such a thing, but he didn't want to attract any unwanted attention to him from the other students so he decided to go along with it.
Arriving at the empty training room, Galen ignited his sabers and began to practice several lightsaber maneuvers and techniques he learned through his years of tutelage under Vader and the few weeks he was under Kota's tutelage. Thinking to one of few jedi who survived Order 66 made Galen think about what he saw the other day.
If he remembered correctly there were about a hundred or so clone troopers who refused to follow Order 66 following an incident late in the Clone War when an ARC-Trooper discovered a secret about the clone army and vanished before the orders to destroy the soldier could be carried out. Along with the clone troopers, several Jedi had yet to have been found. The Jedi in question were Serra Keto, one of Padawans of Battlemaster Cin Drallig, Aayla Secura, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon and the former Padawan to Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano.
According to imperial records, Aayla Secura was to be gunned down by the 327th Star Corps of Felucia but her clone commander, Bly and three battalions of the Star Corps saved their Jedi general and fled the planet. Serra Keto was stationed at the Jedi temple, but she and a group of younglings managed to flee the temple in an ETA-class shuttle. Ahsoka Tano on the other hand, had left the Jedi order after she was framed by Barriss Offee for bombing the Jedi temple. It was said that she could no longer trust the Jedi order after they failed to believe that she was framed but leaving the order only put her in greater danger as she had the last part of the Nexus Route in her possession which both sides sought after. Rumors said she was captured by the separatists two months after she left the order but was rescued by Torrent Company of the 501st shortly before the battle of Coruscant and Order 66. His master gave him a secondary set of orders to find Ahsoka Tano, capture her and bring her back to him.
Kit Fisto was reportedly killed by the emperor when the Jedi tried to arrest him, but when the bodies of the other two Jedi were removed, Kit's body was nowhere to be found.
As for Plo Koon. The entire 104th Battalion somehow refused to follow Order 66 and saved their general before disappearing from Cato Neimoidia and the galaxy. Also, among the missing troopers were dozens of Arc Troopers, Clone Commandos, a specialized squad of clones named after a fallen hero and a handful of Galactic Marines and their commander, CC-1138.
"Why did Vader want me to bring this Ahsoka person back to him? If she's not a Jedi then she wouldn't be a threat to Sidious." Galen asked himself as he performed several Soresu strikes before switching to Juyo. "Did he know her?"
A quick glance towards the clock showed Galen that he had a until nine before his first class which according to his schedule was Grimm Studies. "That's enough training for now. Better get changed before I get something to eat." He said, deactivating his sabers and changed into his school uniform before he clipped one of his sabers to his side before heading to the cafeteria.
Meanwhile, Weiss had just woken up from her sleep and yawned as he eyes fluttered open and she stretched her arms. She didn't notice Ruby, dressed up in the female version of Beacons uniform the key difference being the skirt creep up beside her and blew a whistle right into Weiss's ears, calling the heiress to fall off the bed. "Good morning, team RWBY!" the young leader shouted with excitement.
"What in the world is wrong with you?" Weiss demanded from her location on the floor.
"Now that you're awake, we can officially begin our first order of business." Ruby said to the heiress ignoring the question.
"Excuse me?" Weiss asked as she got up and brushed herself off.
"Decorating!" Yang said with excitement, holding a collection of pillows, pamphlets and a candle-holder in her arms standing next to Blake, both of whom were also wearing the girl's uniform of Beacon.
"What?!" Weiss asked again.
"We still have to unpack." Blake said, lifting up her suitcase which opened up and its contents spilled out onto the floor. "And clean." She added.
Weiss wasn't enthusiastic about this plan, and it didn't help her that Ruby once again blew her whistle getting the heiress to fall back down to the ground. "Alright! Weiss, Blake, Yang and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission! Banzai!" she stated raising her fist into the air.
"Banzai!" Blake and Yang said together, turning their heads to an angle while Weiss just laid on the floor. The four girls soon started to decorate their room with a poster for a group called 'The Achieve Men' on Yang's part of the room, Weiss positioned a painting of Forever Fall on her side, Blake put her books away, while picking up a copy of the erotic book 'Ninja's of Love' her eyes widening as she puts the book back while looking around. Ruby on the other hand used her weapon to cut a portion of the curtains off… which was soon repaired.
However, the end result saw all of their beds cramped together in the center of the floor. "This isn't going to work." Weiss bluntly stated.
"It is a bit cramped." Blake said in agreement.
"Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff…" Yang added.
"Or we could ditch the beds… and replace them with bunk beds!" Ruby suggested with excitement.
"Umm, that sounds incredibly dangerous." Weiss voiced in concern.
"And super-awesome!" Yang exclaimed in agreement.
"It does seem efficient." Blake added. With three of her four teammates onboard for this plan, Weiss curled her fists at her side in anger before all of them rushed back to the beds and assembled the bunk beds. Weiss's bed stayed on the ground next to her art and luggage. Blake's bed was next to her books with some of them being used to raise Yang's bed on the posts while Ruby's bed was hanging from the ceiling by a series of ropes and a blanket being used as a tent over it.
"Objective: Complete!" Ruby said proudly before Weiss noticed the time and that classes were about to start soon. Team RWBY was quick to rush out of their dorm room before they were followed by Team JNPR who also lost track of time and followed them, passing Ozpin who simply sipped his coffee while Glynda looked at her watch.
The class they all had was Grimm studies taught by Professor Port, a man in his early elderly years with light gray hair, a gray mustache and wore brown and burgundy clothing. Behind him was a desk with gold bust of himself while behind his desk was Ports weapon, a blunderbuss with axe blades hanging on a plaque above several boards displaying the various types of Grimm like Ursa's and Nevermore's. Much to their surprise, Team GARM was already sitting at their seats.
"Monsters! Demons… Prowlers of the night!" Port began. "Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as pray." He added with a hearty laugh. In the front row, Blake and Yang were sitting up and paying attention while Weiss took notes and Ruby… well she was taking a little nap which was interrupted by Ports bad joke.
"Uh… And you shall too upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses!" Port continued, giving Yang a wink which the blonde-haired brawler groaned uncomfortably at. "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what you ask? Why, the very world.
One of the students raised his fist in agreement, standing before he noticed everyone staring at him before sitting down. "This is what you are training to become. But first: A story. A tale of a young, handsome man… Me! When I was a boy…" Port began while everyone either paid attention or turned to their textbooks. Or in Galen's case, meditated on recent events.
As he meditated, he had a vision of a young man with a burning desire for answers wandering through a city, Vale if he could tell. The boy wore an urban camo tank top, urban combat pants, combat boots, shooting gloves and military themed boots. The boy had a pair of lightsabers attached to his belt and a sleek black carbine slung over their back. He stood over a beaten pair of goons, grabbed one by the collar of their shirt and pulled them up. "WHERE IS SHE!?" the boy shouted holding a blurred picture of a girl.
Galen's meditation was broken when Port cleared his throat. He turned towards Team RWBY whose young leader had drawing of Port titled 'Professor Poop' which caused Yang and Blake to laugh while Weiss however was annoyed. Once he had their attention, he went on with his story. "In the end, the Beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity, and I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high, celebrated as a hero!" he finished with a bow while not noticing Weiss was getting more and more frustrated with Ruby's antics. "The moral of this story? A true Huntsman must be honorable! A True Huntsman must be dependable! A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated and wise!" he added again not noticing Weiss getting more and more frustrated by Ruby's latest antic, picking her nose. "So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?" The professor asked.
Still angry at her young leaders childish actions, Weiss raised her hand while still angry. "I do, sir!" she shouted.
"Well then, lets find out! Step forward, and face your opponent!" he stated, turning towards a cage with glowing red eyes surrounded by a shadow.
"It appears that Miss Schnee had let her anger get the better of her." Arthur noted to March.
"What could she be upset about? She got into Beacon." March said.
"I think I know what she's angry at." Galen thought to himself as Weiss walked back into the room in her regular attire and readied her weapon at the growling creature in the cage while her teammates cheered her on from their seats.
"Go, Weiss!" Yang cheered raising her fist.
"Fight well!" Blake added, waving a small flag that said 'RWBY'.
"Yeah, represent Team RWBY!" Ruby cheered.
"Ruby! I'm trying to focus!" Weiss scolded the young leader after looking in her general direction.
"Oh, um… Sorry…" Ruby answered sheepishly.
"Alright! Let the match… begin!" Port shouted, raised his blunderbuss-axe and swung it down, breaking the lock on the cage door allowing the captured Boaratusk to charge at Weiss who deflected its attack and rolled to the side, preparing herself for its next attack. The Grimm stood some distance away from its prey and studied it.
"Ha-ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?" Port chuckled.
"Hang in there, Weiss!" Ruby cheered for her teammate who speed towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, stabbing her blade into its skull until the two-meet face to face with Weiss's weapon getting trapped in the tusks. Hanging on by the hilt, Weiss just ended up getting tossed around.
"Bold, new approach. I like it!" Port noted.
"Come on, Weiss, show its who's boss!" Ruby cheered in support for her teammate. This caused Weiss to turn and glare at Ruby, allowing the Boarbatusk to turn its head and rip the sword from her grip, landing far away from its owner who was then knocked back by the creature's tusks.
"Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?" Port asked the heiress who looked up just in time and avoided the Grimm's charge again. The Grimm crashed into a desk allowing Weiss to rush and grab her sword.
"Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-" Ruby tried to suggest.
"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss shouted to the young leader.
"She's angry that Ruby was made the leader of her team over her." Galen surmised as he turned to see that Ruby was very hurt by Weiss's rebuttal. He then turned to the heiress who waited as the creature of Grimm came closer and closer to her before she conjured up several blue-white circles, blocking the roll before leaping back into the now black snowflake before turning it to blue again and drove the blade into the creatures stomach, killing it. "She probably thought that because of her last name, she would be made the leader over the youngest student in the school." He added.
"Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!" Port congratulated as Weiss stood at attention, exhausted while Ruby continued to frown. "I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and… stay vigilant!" Port added before dismissing the students.
Weiss glared at her teammates and turned away walking hurriedly past her teammates all of whom where wondering what Weiss's deal was. "Someone's not clearly happy with the way things turned out." Jaune noted.
It didn't take long for Ruby to catch up with Weiss and asked the question that Blake and Yang were also asking, but the answer wasn't what she was expecting. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!" Weiss shouted.
"What did I do?" Ruby asked with a scoff.
"That's just it- you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!" Weiss added.
"Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team." Ruby asked, feeling very hurt by Weiss's words.
"Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. Ozpin made a mistake." Weiss answered before turning her back and walked away leaving Ruby feeling very dejected.
"Hmm… Now that didn't seem to go very well." Ozpin said from behind, surprising Ruby to see the headmaster standing behind the young leader with a coffee mug in one hand and his cane in the other.
"Is she right? Did you make a mistake?" Ruby doubtfully asked, almost on the verge of tears.
"That remains to be seen." Ozpin answered with a slight laugh.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked, somewhat confused.
"I mean, its only been one day. Ruby… I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. Do you?" he explained.
"He's got a point." Galen added, walking over to the two of them. "When I watched Weiss during the fight against that creature, she clearly was letting her emotions get the better of her. My guess, is that when she applied to Beacon, she'd be appointed the leader of her team because of her skills and name. That's not how the world works." He stated.
"Mr. Marek is correct." Ozpin said in agreement. "Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?" he asked.
Ruby started to look thoughtful at Ozpin's words before smiling at him. "You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility, Ruby. I advise you to take some time, to think how you will uphold it." Ozpin added before leaving the two of them alone before they both spotted Weiss on the balcony not far from them where Professor Port had finished her talk with Weiss.
That night, Weiss returned to her dorm room after taking the words Port gave her to heart. Blake was already asleep under the covers while Yang was spread out on her bed and snoring. As for Ruby, Weiss lifted the blanket of Ruby's tent finding her team leader resting on some knots, pencil in her hand and books opened all around her. Amazed at Ruby's determination, Weiss cleared her throat and gently woke the girl up who took only seconds to wake up. "Weiss! I-I was studying, and the I fell asleep! I'm sorry…" Ruby stuttered.
Weiss was quick to get Ruby to quiet down before looking near Ruby's pillow, spying an empty coffee mug which after asking Ruby liked her coffee came back up with a fresh cup for Ruby. "Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader." Weiss began to say getting Ruby to smile appreciatively. "Just so you know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have!" she added. "Good luck studying!" she ducked down but quickly came back up a few seconds later. "That's wrong, by the way." she went back down this time, but not before saying to Ruby that she always wanted bunk beds as a kid.
Both of them were unaware that Galen was standing outside their dorm room entrance and smiled, having heard everything. "If the Empire makes it way to Remnant, they'll need to be at their best or they won't survive." He thought to himself before returning to his own room.
Meanwhile, in the city the same person that Galen saw in his vision was standing over a badly hurt thug who worked for Roman Torchwick and cracked his knuckles while the thug pissed their pants. "Where is she!?" the boy asked.
In another part of the city, the same ARC Trooper from the forest arrived in the city with a dark brown cloak covering his armor. 'I've got to find that Jedi.' The trooper thought.
And done. Sixth Chapter down. Now, anyone want to take a guess as to who the boy Galen saw is and who he is looking for and who is the ARC Trooper that arrived in the city? I know the answers, but I want to keep them a surprise until the right time, but that doesn't mean you all can't guess.
So, there are more surviving Jedi and clones who refused to follow order 66, many of whom I changed the fates of because I felt like it. When they will appear, well you'll just have to wait and see.
Now before I end it, I want ideas for the basis of the Tanks Remnants military should have. I want some armor for when the Empire arrives. Anyway, please read and review and I'll see you all next time.
