And I am back again with another chapter of Remnant Unleashed. Thirty-two reviews and forty favorites in only seven chapters and thirty-two thousand and forty-four words. I really feel like I am doing something right. But for those of you who are following Mobile Suit RWBY, I plan on doing a rewrite of it in the near future but not at the moment.
Now, I am surprise that no one has figured out who the Arc-Trooper from before was, but I'm not going to tell anyone. As for the mysterious person who arrived in Vale attacking criminals, that's a secret until next chapter.
Now onto the reviews.
Darth Cody: I'm sure you'll like how the surviving Jedi and Clones will interact with Galen. As for Team GARM getting fleshed out, I'll be giving the other members their back story in future chapters. It won't be everything about their pasts, but enough to keep you all interested.
ChunkyFunkyMunky: I had Galen become a student for a reason. You'll find out as the story progresses.
Jack Smith1: Trust me, the Jedi and clones I have mentioned will be a big help to both Remnant and the Rebellion, especially when the Empire makes its way to Remnant. The Arc-Trooper was not Echo or Fives, but someone from the 2003 micro series that aired on Cartoon Network, but I will clarify that both Fives and Echo are alive and Echo is not part machine. That is all thanks to a certain Padawan that we all know and love, along with the Arc-Trooper.
Alright, that's it for reviews now let's get onto the chapter, which I promise will be quite the surprise for those of you wondering about Jaune's change in character. Disclaimers are the same as always. Please enjoy.
Chapter 8: Jaune's Courage
It had been a couple of weeks since Ruby and Weiss patched things up between them and started to work as a team. All of the teachers and Galen took notice of this change between the two of them and were glad that both students weren't bickering.
Now Teams RWBY, JNPR and GARM were in combat class watching Jaune spar against Cardin Winchester. For the past few weeks, Cardin had challenge Jaune to combat and had emerged the victor. Some students were saying that Cardin was the superior fighter due to his weapon and armor, despite not coming up with a plan of attack. Others were saying that Jaune must have lied about his skills and wasn't ready to become a Huntsmen.
But luckily, Jaune had a plan to prove them wrong. Looking to Cardin who laughed thinking it would be an easy victory, Jaune looked to his shield before catching sight of Cardin charging towards hum with his mace held high. Raising his shield, Jaune blocked Cardin's attack allowing Jaune's body to glow white for a few seconds indicating his Aura had recharged back to full strength.
Cardin didn't like the fact that his easy victory had just slipped away and with a quick swing of his mace, he knocked Jaune's shield out of his hands leaving Jaune with only his sword. Another swing of his mace forced Jaune to raise his sword and block the attack. "This is the part where you lose." Cardin stated, towering over Jaune with their weapons locked.
Much to Cardin's surprise, Jaune broke the weapon lock and leapt back before he could knee the blonde-haired knight in the gut. "I don't think so, Cardin." Jaune countered. Cardin growled and charged towards Jaune attempting to take out the leader of Team JNPR and win the match. Again, Cardin was surprised when Jaune sheathed his sword and caught Cardin's mace with his hands, disarming him before Jaune landed an uppercut to Cardin's chin, knocking Cardin to the ground.
Walking over to his downed opponent, Jaune looked at Cardin's mace and much to the surprise of Cardin handed him his weapon back as the buzzer sounded. "And that's the match." Glynda said, tapping her tablet before turning to the students who watched the fight. "Students, as you can see, when Mr. Arc's Aura dropped into the red, he moved to a more defensive position. In a tournament-styled duel this indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle, and that the official may call the match. But as you can see, Mr. Arc gauged his Aura and decided to block each of Cardin's attacks allowing his Aura to 'recharge' so he could plan his next move." She went on, looking to Jaune who was glancing in the direction of his team who smiled at their leader's skills. "Mr. Arc, you've certainly learned from your previous defeats and came up with an effective strategy which helped you win the match. And you showed chivalry when you defeated your opponent. I am impressed." She added.
"He got lucky, that's all." Cardin grumbled, yanking his mace from Jaune's hands as the bell rang ending the class.
"Remember, everyone, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away! It won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale!" Hearing these words, made Ruby, Yang and Weiss excited at the thought of the tournament. Pyrrha kept looking at Jaune who smiled at her before they left the classroom.
As for Galen, he also took notice of Jaune's skills and couldn't help but think about who trained Jaune. But he soon sensed Cardin's frustration and anger towards Jaune's victory. "That guy's going to be doing something stupid." Galen said to himself.
Sometime later, the three teams were eating lunch and Nora was telling a story. "So! There we were, in the middle of the night…" she started.
"It was day." Ren corrected.
"We were surrounded by Ursai…" Nora went on.
"They were Beowolves." Ren corrected again.
"Dozens of them!" she screamed unaware that most of the three teams were ignoring her, save for Ruby, Jaune, Pyrrha and Galen.
"Two of them." Ren corrected again.
"But they were no match… And in the end, Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of Lien selling Ursa skin rugs!" Nora said finishing her tall tale.
"She's been having this recurring dream for nearly a month now." Ren said with a sigh.
"Well, why don't we change the subject?" Yang suggested and turned to Jaune. "Vomit boy over here knocked Cardin down a few pegs and really kicked his ass after loosing a certain number of times in the last couple of combat classes." She exclaimed, giving Jaune a pat on the back. "Spill it, where did you learn those moves?"
"Well, those defeats really left me leaving sore in the rear when getting beaten the last few weeks." Jaune said to himself, rubbing his rear at the thought of the hard landings he got from the previous defeats. "I noticed that Cardin was always charging in recklessly with that mace of his always favoring the offensive approach." Jaune began. "So, like Professor Goodwitch said, I moved to the defensive and waited for Cardin to make a move before I caught his weapon and took him down."
"Learning from one's past defeats and failures can be a good teacher, just like victory." Galen said in agreement before turned around to see the members of Team CRDL bullying a faunus girl with brown rabbit ears. "Shame the same can't be said for Cardin."
"He's a bully." Ruby answered.
"Don't I know it. Seriously, knocking my book out of my hands, activated my sheath and shoving me into one of the lockers." Jaune said listing off all the times Cardin had bullied him. "I didn't land that far from the school, but what did I ever do to Cardin to end up getting bullied?" Jaune asked.
"Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask." Pyrrha reminded her team leader.
"Oh! We'll break his legs!" Nora said diabolically.
"Not a good idea. Break his legs and we'll end in detention, listening to Ports stories." March said.
"Ow! That hurts!" the faunus girl from earlier said in pain getting the others to turn around and see Cardin pulling on the girls' ears. "Please, stop…."
"I told you it was real!" Cardin said to his buddies.
"What a freak!" Russel added.
The three teams watched as this kept on going and the girl was in terrible pain. Galen couldn't take it anymore and got up from the table. "Hold these." Galen growled to Pyrrha, handing her his lightsabers. Galen walked towards Team CRDL. "Hey, dumbasses!" Galen shouted.
"What do you want?" Cardin asked.
"You will leave this girl alone." Galen said with a wave of his hand.
"We will leave this girl alone." All four members of Team CRDL said and left the cafeteria.
"You ok?" Galen asked the girl.
"I'm fine. Thanks." The girl said. "Why did you help me? Not many people would go out of their way to help someone like me." The girl asked.
"Let's just say, I've seen others take advantage of those much like yourself and I didn't like it. It was something that I knew needed to be done." Galen answered. He then held out his hand to the girl. "I'm Galen Marek."
"Velvet. Velvet Scarlatina." Velvet answered before walking away. Galen also walked back to the others who looked to him with surprise.
"What did you do to Cardin and his team?" Everyone asked.
"Let's just say, I influenced them into leaving Velvet alone." Galen answered, taking his sabers back from Pyrrha.
"Well, you did the right thing Galen." Pyrrha said. "I can't stand people like Cardin."
"He's not the only one." Blake reminded.
"It must be hard to Faunus." Yang said sadly.
The others agreed, but Galen had something else to say. "Maybe if people actually got to know them, things would be a bit different. Most people see them as animals and freaks. I see them as people and those who fight for what they believe in. Its only a certain few that make things worse for the others." he said and left the table.
It didn't take long for news of Galen standing up for Velvet to spread across the school like wildfire and it almost led to Galen being late for his next class of the day, history with the fast talking and zooming Professor Bartholomew Oobleck.
As the class went on, Galen noticed Jaune was resting his head in his hand while Weiss, Blake, Pyrrha, March and Velvet listened while Cardin leaned back in his seat directly behind Jaune. "Yes! Yes, prior the Faunus Rights Revolution—more popularly known as the Faunus War—humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie." Oobleck said as he pointed to the map behind him before talking a sip from his coffee.
"Someone seems to enjoy coffee a little too much." Galen thought to himself.
"Now! While thus must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!" Oobleck continued, zooming around the classroom once more and sipping his coffee. "Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage?" the good teacher asked.
Many Faunus students raised their hands March and Velvet included. This in turn caused Oobleck to shake his head in shame. "Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" he said with disgust, taking another sip of his coffee. "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to the White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the war?" he asked.
Weiss was quick to raise her hand. "The battle at Fort Castle!" she answered.
"Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?" he asked. Unseen to everyone but Galen, Cardin flicked a Paper Football at Jaune's head, who was trying his best to keep up with the Doctors.
"Hey!" Jaune said. This caused Doctor Oobleck to zoom over to Jaune.
"Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?" Oobleck asked.
While he wasn't the best in terms of history, Jaune tried to give the Doctor the answer, glancing at Pyrrha who was trying to help give Jaune the answer but the leader of Team JNPR was still trying to give the answer to the teacher. Thankfully, Galen again waved his hand and helped Jaune. "Night vison." Jaune answered.
"Very good, Mr. Arc!" Oobleck said before turning to Cardin who growled in frustration. "Cardin! Perhaps you would like to share your thoughts on the subject!" the doctor asked.
"Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier." Cardin answered smugly while Oobleck shock his in annoyance.
"And here we go again." Galen said aloud in annoyance. "You know that attitude is really starting to annoy a lot of people." He said to Cardin.
"You're not the most open minded of individuals, are you, Cardin?" Pyrrha asked in agreement with Galen.
"What? You got a problem?" Cardin asked in anger.
"No, I have something to add to Jaune's answer. Many Faunus are known to have nearly-perfect sight in the dark." She added, making Cardin growl at the response.
Blake then spoke up. "General Lagune was inexperienced, and made the mistake of trying to ambush the Faunus in their sleep. His massive army was outmatched, and the general was captured." Blake added before turning to Cardin. "Perhaps if he'd paid attention in class, he wouldn't have been remembered as such a failure."
By now, Cardin had gotten up from his seat with his fist clenched. "You three think you're so special, don't you? Well, you're nothing but a bunch of animal lovers. They've got no place attending a school like Beacon and neither do any of you!" Cardin said.
"Mr. Winchester! That's enough!" Oobleck demanded. "I will not tolerate any human superiority beliefs in my classroom or such beliefs. Everyone in this classroom has earned their place here at this academy so I would think you would be more respectful to them. Now please, take your seat."
Jaune sighed with relief, having thought that Cardin was going to start a fight. "Mr. Marek! I appreciate you standing up for your fellow students, but please do refrain from these types of statements again. Leave it to us teachers." Oobleck said before taking a sip from his coffee. "Oh, and if its not too much trouble, I would like to see you after class, after I talk with Mr. Winchester." He added. "Now! Moving on!"
The rest of the class went on without any more 'disturbances' and after Cardin was given extra readings by Doctor Oobleck, the history teacher walked with Galen to the room where the doctor kept many of the artifacts recovered from several expeditions to several old ruins. The artifacts ranged from several old weapons and armor, to several basic items such as vases and pots. "I've been told by our dear headmaster about your current… predicament and all about that you are one of those Jedi." Oobleck began, taking Galen aback. "Oh, don't worry. I'm not one to tell people about who you really are to everyone else. That is something you can decide when to do. No… I actually wanted you to take a look at something I found a while back." He clarified before walking towards one of the artifacts, a cube looking one.
"I found this during my time as a teachers assistant and have been unable to determine what it is or open it. I'd figure you would be able to have better luck then I've had." Oobleck said, handing the device to Galen.
"Well, I can tell you that what you have here, is a Jedi holocron. An object sacred to the Jedi order. They contain information such as lightsaber techniques, blueprints for ships, history and some times are used as journals." Galen explained as he held the object which glowed bright blue. "Where did you find this?"
"Oh, in some ancient ruins on the Vale/Vacuo border." Oobleck answered.
"Mind if I take this? I should be able to unlock it." He asked.
"Well, I don't usually let students take artifacts from storage unless it's helping me determine their secrets. But, seeing as it is related to your abilities, I think I can allow it just this once." Oobleck said with a smile. "That is… if you can help Mr. Arc with his studies. I know he's been struggling in my class and while it is not due to a lack of interest, I have high hopes for Mr. Arc." Oobleck added.
"I'll be sure to do that, Professor." Galen answered.
"Doctor." Oobleck corrected.
"Right. Sorry about that."
With the holocron in his hands, Galen headed back to his dorm room but as he did, he overheard Jaune and Pyrrha talking from the roof nearby. "So, you think we can train up here?" Jaune asked.
"Yes! Jaune, I know that you're having a difficult time in class and that you still have a lot to learn about fighting. But you're my teammate and our leader, so I want to help you. Sure, you were able to beat Cardin in class today, but I think a little extra help would do you some good." Pyrrha stated.
"You're right. I do need help." Jaune admitted as he walked towards the edge. "I may be a good fighter, but I need more training. I mean I wouldn't have gotten this far if I was one of those people who lied to get into the school they always wanted to go to."
"You wouldn't do that, would you?" Pyrrha asked.
"No. I'd never do that. I got into Beacon because of my skills and training, that speaks for itself in what I can accomplish." Jaune stated before he turned to the night sky. "But I wasn't always like this. I used to be weak, powerless and nothing more than someone who idolized the huntsmen and huntresses of the past and wanted to be just like them, but I never was that any good."
Pyrrha looked to her team leader with sympathy. "But… it was then that I met my teacher. He taught me most of what I know but its still not enough. I want to be huntsmen, but its not for most of the reason some people choose to be huntsmen, I want to be someone who can actually make a difference in this world." He added.
"Then use that as your goal. If you weren't that good, you wouldn't be at Beacon. Jaune I have faith in you. So do Nora and Ren. You're our leader Jaune and I want you to be the best leader you can be. So please Jaune, let me help you." Pyrrha said.
"Thanks, Pyrrha. So, how does tomorrow after class sound for training?" Jaune asked. Pyrrha smiled and followed Jaune back to their dorm room. Galen heard everything and smiled, yet at the same time he felt that something was off about Jaune but he couldn't figure it out.
Neither he, Pyrrha or Jaune knew that Cardin had heard the entire conversation between the two members of Team JNPR and was very angry. One way or another, he was going to get even with those three.
Week's went by and with both Pyrrha and Galen helping him with his training and studies, Jaune was getting both better grades and better in his fighting strength. By Monday morning, Teams GARM, RWBY, JNPR and CRDL were walking through the red leaved and gray trunked tree of Forever Fall with Glynda leading them. "Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside the forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so." Glynda said to the students.
The group of students soon came to a stop with Russel carrying a large case with several empty jars, who looked to Cardin with a smirk. "Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!" Glynda explained, holding a jar of the sap that was their objective.
Teams RWBY, GARM and JNPR went into the depths of the forest while Team CRDL went in another direction. Both Galen and Rose heard a distinct buzzing coming the case that Russel was carrying. "Why do I get the feeling that those idiots are about to do something very, very stupid?" Rose asked.
"I know. I don't like it either. But we'll deal with what ever they are planning." Galen answered and followed after the others.
Both Galen and Rose were right in being concerned. Turns out the buzzing coming from the case that Team CRDL had was full of Rapier Wasps. From one of the essay's Cardin had to do for Doctor Oobleck, Rapier Wasps love sweets and since sap was sweet, it was perfect for their plan for payback. With several jars of sap already filled for the four boys, they were going to throw a few of the jars at Pyrrha, Galen and Jaune before unleashing the Rapier Wasps on them.
That would have been the plan had a certain Jedi not sensed the jars being thrown towards them and sent them back towards Team CRDL who immediately went for cover to avoid getting hit by the sap as the Rapier Wasps were soon released when Dove hit the case, releasing the insects who soon started to swarm the spilled sap. Running away screaming, Team CRDL managed to get some distance from the insects but in the process dropped all the sap they had collected for Professor Peach and by the time they returned to where the others were, found that the other teams had already left the area. "Oh, just great! Way to go, Dove! If you hadn't knocked the case with the bugs over, we would have had a second chance of getting even with those losers!" Cardin snapped.
"Hey, don't go blaming me! You're the one who said that this would be a piece of cake and it'd give us a good laugh." Dove countered.
"Maybe if we had tried something different, that Galen loser wouldn't have stopped the jars from hitting him and the others!" Russel chimed in.
"Hey! Lets just get the sap and we'll figure out how to get back at those losers later. I don't want to be here and encounter a Grimm cause in case you all haven't noticed we're some distance from the other teams." Sky reminded.
"Whatever! Those losers will get what's…" Cardin began before all of them heard a noise from behind. Turning around, they saw numerous Dull silver colored robots of unknown make push through the bushes. These machines were about two meters tall and had a red sensor on the upper left side of its torso. Mounted on its right and left forearms of some of the machines where a pair of small weapon barrels while others had a large cannon on their left forearm.
The machines stopped when they saw Team CRDL who immediately ran away with the sap in their hands, screaming at the top of their lungs. One of the machines raised its arm and fired at the retreating team.
Meanwhile, the other teams were collecting sap from another area of the forest when they heard the weapons fire. "Did you guys hear that?" Ruby asked concerned.
"It didn't sound like Grimm." March added.
"It almost sounded like gunfire. But not any gunfire I've heard before." Rose chimed in.
"Evil robots! Evil robots!" Russel shouted looking back before running into Yang by accident.
"What are you talking about? What 'evil robots?'" Yang asked, picking up Russel by the front of his shirt. She soon had her answer as Cardin reached them and tripped on a rock, dropping his weapon just as the 'evil robot's' that Russel was talking about arrived.
"Error: Unknown hostiles encountered. Detecting unknown energy signature around hostiles. Assessment: Republic special forces. Course of action: Termination." The lead machine spoke as it walked over to Cardin, raised its arm and was about to kill Cardin.
Cardin soon saw his life flash before his eyes and thought it was the end for him when to his surprise, Jaune rushed in with his shield raised, blocking the shot before swinging his sword at the machine's wrist-based weapons. "Hostile actions detected by Republic special forces: Course of action remains clear: Termination." The lead unit spoke before it was destroyed by several swings from Jaune's sword.
"I'm out of here!" Cardin shouted and ran away like a coward leaving the other three teams to deal with the machines. His teammates followed suit.
"Anyone have any ideas?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah. We fight!" Galen stated and drew one of his lightsabers, igniting it. "Whatever these things are, we can't let them out of the forest. Destroy them!" he shouted to the others. He knew what the machines were; B2 and B2-HA Super Battle Droids, relics from the Clone Wars.
"Jedi detected: Terminate with extreme prejudice." One of the machines said to its comrades.
(Fighting the Destroyer Droids starts)
Dashing towards the droids, Galen dodged the shots meant for him before slashing apart one of the droids with a Soresu strike across the chest before the others soon joined in. "Rose, Ruby hit them from long range! Everyone else move fast and engage them up close and personal! They heavily armored so hit them hard!" Galen instructed the others.
"You heard him, beat these buckets of bolts down!" Yang said in excitement, finally getting the chance she was waiting for to beat something up. One of the droids rushed towards her with both its wrist blasters primed and ready to gun the blonde brawler down. Yang however beat the droid to the punch; literally and delivered a series of punches on the machine's chest which with the combined power of her gauntlet's shotgun mode destroyed the machine. "These things aren't so tough." She said cockily.
Weiss created a few white circles allowing her to skate around the droids before firing her rapiers revolver function at several of the droids before creating another glyph and sped towards one of the droids, slashing at its arms before thrusting her weapon into the its torso. However, her attacks did little damage to the droid's heavy armor, but after several more attacks the machine was nothing but bits of scrap metal.
Ren ran towards the droids, firing StormFlower's pistol mode at the droids, taking out some of them after using two magazines in the process. Using his agility, Ren slashed at several of the droids with his weapons blades which damaged the droid's armors and creating several gaps. Using this to his advantage, Ren fired his weapon into the gaps destroying the droids. "There armors too tough. Try and create gaps in the armor and hit them there!" Ren shouted.
"Understood." Arthur acknowledged and switched his left gauntlet to its gun mode while his right gauntlet remained in its blade mode. A burst of fire from his gauntlets gun mode managed to hit several systems from the exposed area's in one droid, but Arthur used up all of the ammo he in the magazine. Reaching for a new one, he loaded up a magazine of lighting dust infused ammo but didn't get the chance to fire when one of the droids got close to him. A swing from his left gauntlet across the droid's chest destroyed it. "It appears my blades are able to penetrate the armor of these machines." He noted before he fired his gauntlet's gun. The lightning dust infused in the rounds managed to do damage the droids. "And it seems that lightning-based dust rounds do more damage to these machines."
"Lucky you!" March said, slashing one droid's arm off with his sword before firing the gun mode of his weapon downward sending him into the air where he then used his semblance to speed himself up before slashing one droid down the middle like it was bread. "All I got are wind dust-based shells and they aren't going to cut it." He stated before a droid got behind him and batted him away with its arm.
"Here! Take these!" Rose shouted as March got back to his feet before tossing him a box of lightning-dust shells to the Rabbit Faunus. "Shock those metal heads!" she shouted, pan firing one of her revolvers at one droid before using her second one in sword mode and slashed at the exposed systems destroying it. "Yeehaw! We got ourselves a Turkey Shoot!" she said excitedly and reloaded her revolver quickly.
"Nora smash!" Nora shouted, batting away one of the droids into a tree before switching her weapon to launcher mode and fired all six of her grenades towards three more droids stunning them long enough for Blake to dash in and slash the droids apart with her sword and sheath. "Nice one Blake!" Nora complimented before Nora reloaded her weapon.
"Thanks." Blake answered and zig-zagged between the shots of several droids before she reduced the machines to scrap metal. 'These aren't Atlesian Knights. What are they?' she thought to herself. Quickly, she loaded the pistol mode of her sword with lightning dust and fire the entire clip at three droids stunning them long enough for her to slash them apart. 'Is this him, or something else?'
Pyrrha threw her shield towards one droid which bounced off a nearby tree before she used her semblance to redirect it towards one droid, slicing through its rocket launcher arm before she throwing her javelin at it destroying the machine. "How did you do that?" Ruby asked from nearby.
"You have your speed; Weiss has her glyphs. My semblance is polarity." Pyrrha answered as she backflipped to Ruby's location.
"You can control poles?" Ruby asked.
"No. Its magnetism." Pyrrha answered.
"Wow." Ruby said in awe. Both of them soon turned to see Jaune fighting alongside Galen taking out numerous droids with their swords. "Hey, we shouldn't let Jaune have all the fun!" Ruby said and slammed her scythe into the ground behind her, pulled the trigger and propelled herself towards her friends changing her scythe into a war scythe and swung it wide knocking out a few droids.
"Watch where you're swinging that thing!" Galen shouted before pulling one droid towards him with the force stabbing it in the chest before throwing his second lightsaber towards two more droids destroying them and allowing Jaune to move up with his shield blocking the enemy fire, bashing one droid down to the ground before thrusting his blade into the droid's chest.
"There aren't that many left. We can do this." Jaune said, looking towards the remaining half dozen droids. "Galen, mind if I borrow one of your sabers?" he asked.
Galen looked to Jaune and nodded. "Just be careful with it." He said to JNPR's leader.
"Trust me. After seeing what it can do, I'm not going to fool around with this weapon." Jaune answered taking Galen's green saber, igniting it before sprinting forwards to the remaining droids. Seeing that they had another lightsaber wielder to deal with, the remaining droids focused on Jaune and Galen.
Galen utilized a Form V technique to take out two droids while Jaune slashed another across the torso with the green blade. Another droid fired at Jaune, but Jaune blocked each of the shots sending them back to the shooter and taking out the droid before he jumped in the air and slashed another droid right down the middle as Galen finished the last two droids with a blast of Force Lightning.
(End song)
"Well I can safely say that is one of they most exciting field trips I have ever been on in my life." Jaune said handing Galen his second saber back to him which he then deactivated just as Glynda arrived with the rest of team CRDL.
"Thank the Gods you are all alright. What exactly happened here?" she asked.
It didn't take long for Galen and the others to explain what had happened and soon Glynda realized that Cardin and his team were the ones who indivertibly caused the droids to arrive and attack and were planning to throw sap on Galen and the others. "Well, Mr. Winchester I am very disappointed in you and your team. Your actions put your fellow students in great danger, all for the sake of a prank and 'getting even' with those who embarrassed you. The four of you will be spending several weekends in detention, not only for this incident, but for the constant bullying you and your team have displayed to all those of faunus heritage. Lets just hope that you will learn from this experience and will not repeat these actions again." Glynda scolded.
She then turned to the others. "As for the rest of you, your efforts in protecting your fellow students. You put the lives of your fellow students ahead of your own and proved that you are true huntsmen and huntresses in training. All of you will be given extra credit for your actions." She added.
Yang pulled her teammates into a hung while Nora hugged Ren tightly. The Pyrrha smiled at Jaune who in turn smiled back at his teammate. As for Team GARM, they were honored by the praise that Glynda gave them, but Galen turned around towards one of the droids remains and pondered how they got on Remnant and if they had anything to do with the IG-100's he fought when he met Ruby.
And done! This chapter was a bit of a pain to write seeing as I made it so Jaune didn't lie his way into Beacon and had prior training. Figured I'd try and spice things up a bit.
Now onto the reviews that I got while writing.
Antex-The Legendary Zorark: Thanks for those nice words. Trust me, the answers to your questions will be given as the story continues, but I will say this much what you said about how Raven got that Lightsaber isn't that far off.
Spartan-626: No need to apologize. I'm just glad you left a review. Now in regards to Jaune, I'd figure I'd try and make him less of clumsy and more of a warrior. Trust me, there will be more Star Wars material in the chapters to come.
OldGlory: You'll love what comes next.
Anyway, please read and review and I'll see you all next time. Consider this my early birthday present to all of you, which is tomorrow and I'll leave you with a hint for the next two chapters: A Gunship with a glaring Rancors mouth.
