DISCLAIMER: I don't own Inuyasha, this is just my own OC.
Being whisked across vast distances deep into the woods, away from the battle in the eastern lands, Lady Tsukiyame was reclined comfortably up against a tree, recovering. Her Gin JunUsagi sword had both healed her body completely and protected her from getting killed by the demon samurai warriors' unison attacks. Now, all that needs to happen is for her to rest and regain her strength. Sleeping peacefully, the sun shined down through the trees, hitting her face, waking her up as she opened her eyes gradually.
It was now morning. Sounds of birds flying in the clear blue sunny skies, insects, and small animals running and flying around could be heard. The young lady half demoness had been out, sleeping for two days. That tough battle sure did make her tire out.
She continued sitting up against the tree for a bit, looking up at the trees and the sky when some gentle warm breezes came by. Ah Un was nowhere to be found nearby where she lay and rested. Did the two-headed dragon leave on his way to find Sesshomaru and Jaken? Lady Tsukiyame had no idea. Perhaps the reason was because her demonic aura was guarded, while being whisked away by the Gin JunUsagi to keep her enemy's army from finding her as she needed to rest.
"I am sure," Lady Tsukiyame said to herself, "Ah Un was following behind me here to the forest. Maybe it is because my demonic aura was hidden that he could not keep up with me."
Lady Tsukiyame began hearing a fresh clean river up ahead. It was time for her to eat, hearing her stomach growling as well as sensing and hearing her own hunger. She had not eaten or drank any water the two days she was resting in the forests.
She rose to her feet and started heading left to go down the passageway towards the fresh clean river where she could catch some wild fish. She walked silently in the forest to the fresh river and the peacefulness was soothing and calming to her. As was usual for Lady Tsukiyame, she preferred the silence and the peace and quiet. She was not that far. Making her way towards the sound of fresh flowing water, she turns right and heads for the bushes before her.
Finally, Lady Tsukiyame arrives at the fresh clean flowing river, passing through the bushes. She starts walking up to the edge of the river. Reaching for her fishnet and wooden sticks, she unfolded and lay the fishnet in the shallow water, securing the strings tightly to small rocks. Then she starts catching some wild fish with her wooden sticks. Eyeing the flowing water carefully and moving quickly. Thrusting them into the waters near the shallow area with such perfect skill, she caught some wild fish and threw them in her fishnet. After rinsing off her wooden sticks in the shallow water, she puts them back inside her shawl. She then takes her fishnet filled with wildly caught fish out of the shallow water and unties the strings from the small rocks. The strings are now pulled closed with the fishnet being carried over her right shoulder.
Lady Tsukiyame is now ready to leave and continue her hunt for some fresh vegetables. Ah Un was not around currently. All her freshly picked vegetables had been left with the two-headed dragon demon, inside two bags secured onto his hide. So, she would need to look for some fresh vegetables to pick. There were some tall trees with edible Malunggay vegetables nearby a grassy field and a fresh stream two hours away from where she currently was. She could see the Malunggay trees from afar with her superb vision, looking straight ahead opposite from the fresh flowing river. Not being in the mood to transform and take flight, she began leaving and passing through the bushes to go back into the forests.
Wasting no time traveling silently in the forest and walking down the passageway, she continues to head towards the opposite side. The morning was still young. As she traveled deeper into the woods with more trees providing more shade, a bridge going over the river was found before her. Then she started walking across the bridge to the opposite side of the flowing fresh river. More warm gentle breezes came by and blew through her beautiful very dark silver hair and black clothes as she walked across. The morning sun also shined down on her.
There, Lady Tsukiyame moves forward with the hunt for some Malunggay vegetables as she continues her way back into the forests. She took her time walking down the passageway, until she was in the grassy field. Passing by in the field and continuing her travel, she finally came across the tall Malunggay trees with a fresh stream further behind them. The Malunggay leaves looked and smelt edible and were ripe for picking. She wastes no time walking over to the trees.
"These Malunggay leaves will make a great salad." Lady Tsukiyame said delighted.
Lady Tsukiyame walks over to a tree and started picking some delicious Malunggay vegetables for her salad. Then she began looking for some wood to start the fire, so that she could prepare her wildly caught fish. Afterwards, she began walking over to the nearby fresh stream to begin her preparation.
She stood before the fresh flowing stream and began filling up her string zip-lock bag with water for drinking. She also thoroughly washed her hands, before preparing her food. The fire was finally burning, and she began cooking her wild fish. Sips of fresh water were drank in between cooking her meal. After her meal was cooked, she enjoyed her food with sips of water. The fishnet and string zip-lock bags were neatly folded and put back inside her shawl. The fire was already put out. It was time for her to leave and return to Sesshomaru.
Lady Tsukiyame began heading to the northwest. Afternoon had already come. The young lady half demoness had been traveling silently for a while, still in search for the young lord demon.
She later began coming across a scent. She was sensing, feeling, and hearing a familiar presence deeper in the forest, while traveling silently. It was Sesshomaru whom she had sensed and felt. She could sense and feel that something was wrong. This was odd as the young lord demon would be up and leaving in a day or two after recovering from a long battle. Aside from some injuries he may have gotten from the battle with the Axe Tiger army, he had also been poisoned by some of Naraku's saimyosho insects. Though, Lady Tsukiyame could not understand how someone as powerful as Sesshomaru could easily be succumbing to the toxic poison of the half vermin's deadly insects. She would have expected him to have some immunity to the toxins. Or perhaps she was overestimating him? Nonetheless, Lady Tsukiyame continues to follow his scent.
Late evening had already come with the sun beginning to set in the sky. She had been traveling all day. As she calmly walked in silence, she continues to go down the same passageway. There was an evening sunny clearing and more forests up ahead. The young lord demon's scent was strongly present. Her walk into the clearing was short. The evening sunlight made the young lady half demoness' lilac eyes and very dark silver hair look radiant as she looked over her left shoulder. More warm gentle breezes came by, blowing through her hair and clothes. She could see Sesshomaru was reclined up against a tree from afar, sleeping with his white fury cloak being used for comfort. His eyes fluttered while closed. His shallow breathing could also be heard from where she stood.
'So,' Lady Tsukiyame thought, 'He is still alive.'
Jaken and Ah Un were also sitting opposite from him. Their worry and concern for him could be sensed, heard, and felt. Of course, the little green imp demon was worrying frantically about his lord, as was usual for him.
Turning left to return to her companions, she observes the young lord demon. Both Jaken and Ah Un notice Lady Tsukiyame arriving back to their traveling group. The sight of Sesshomaru not yet recovering from the long battle made her feel uneasy. Though, no one would be able to tell due to the expressionless look in her eyes, and her stoic demeanor. She began to immediately shake the thought of uneasiness out of her mind as it made her uncomfortable.
"Oh, Lady Tsukiyame," Jaken said and informed, running over to her, "You have returned! Lord Sesshomaru has been out for the past two days. He was wounded badly and poisoned by those pesky deadly insects of Naraku. Thankfully, my lord was saved and whisked away from the battle. I believe it may have been his Tensaiga that protected him. It also aided him in battling the demon samurai warriors, too."
"Is that so," Lady Tsukiyame asked somewhat stunned, "You mean the sword he carries at his left side? It aided him in his fight with the demon samurai warriors and protected him from dying in the battle?"
"Y-yes," he answered and explained, "I was also stunned when I witnessed the power of the Tenseiga as well. Legend has it that my lord's sword can save one hundred lives with one swing. It can also slay beings that are not from the living world. Not to mention that it can protect Lord Sesshomaru in battles."
"Hm." she said.
'So,' she thought to herself, 'The legends I have heard about the Tenseiga may be true, then? I had no idea that was the heirloom fang Lord Sesshomaru wielded and carried at his left side.'
Jaken then looks back up at Lady Tsukiyame and screeches, "Wait! Didn't you hear what I just said about my lord's injuries?! Lord Sesshomaru was wounded badly and poisoned by that fool's poisonous insects! He may not live for much longer. We must do something. Naraku wants to lay claim over my master's kingdom and lands."
'Just like he wants to lay claim over my queendom and lands.' Lady Tsukiyame thought.
"Yes, I heard you," she stated clearly and casually, "I already know about his injuries. I could feel and smell him on my way over here. You don't have to scream at the top of your lungs for everyone else to hear. I'm also sure Lord Sesshomaru heard you as well."
"Jaken!" Sesshomaru warned weakly. It was an obvious warning for Jaken to shut his mouth.
"Y-yes, my lord." Jaken obeyed, walking back to sit beside Ah Un.
Ah Un also acknowledges the young lady half demoness with a quiet growl and nodding one of his heads. After nodding in acknowledgement, she began walking over to the nearly dead daiyoukai that lay up against the tree. She could still sense and feel the poison oozing inside of his body, thoroughly spreading. She already knew Sesshomaru was still alive as she already heard him breathing earlier, but shallowly. He also could feel her kneeling beside him.
"Don't touch me." he demanded weakly. Sesshomaru still had enough energy to talk.
Lady Tsukiyame ignored the young lord demon. She kneeled on her knees and rolled up the sleeve of his kimono to examine the wound in his left arm. Three bright reddish wounds from the saimyosho's stingers entering his body through his flesh were still there. She rolled his sleeve back down.
"I said don't touch me."
"You also told me to drop dead, go to hell, and never return to the living world a few occasions. But you see how I am responding to that. Besides, the sooner you recover, the sooner we can get back to looking for Naraku and his army."
"And what do you plan to do about it?"
She simply did not answer and glanced down at her Gin JunUsagi sword at her left side, beside her Kurai ToksusUsagi, in her silver and lilac full moon print sashes. Sesshomaru could have scowled the young lady half demoness for not heeding his demand. He also could have attempt to try and kill her long ago if he wanted to. But he did not. He was also still suffering from the effects of the poison still spreading throughout his body. Something must be done soon, or the young lord demon would die.
Lady Tsukiyame drew her Gin JunUsagi and held it on the daiyoukai's body. Jaken immediately took notice of the sword. He was very stunned. Both Jaken and Ah Un had never seen a blade that looked like that, nor had he ever seen her use the weapon to fight, besides her Kurai ToksusUsagi sword. The sword looked like a silver mirror-like blade. The little green imp demon would have been able to see his own reflection with it. Still, he worried about what she intended to do.
"Er, Lady Tsukiyame," Jaken demanded frantically and worryingly, "What kind of weapon is that?! Why are you holding it over Lord Sesshomaru's body? What do you intend to do to him?"
"This is the Gin JunUsagi," Lady Tsukiyame said, holding her sword on his body, "I use this sword for healing. I will try to heal and purify Lord Sesshomaru's wounds."
"Really," he asked surprised, "You can really heal others with your sword?"
'The Gin JunUsagi.' Sesshomaru thought. The name had sounded familiar to him as if he had heard about it before.
A white pure light and drops of purifying water appeared over his body. Slowly, the young lord demon's body began to heal. The toxic poison was leaving his body and his wounds were healing from the purifying powers of her Gin JunUsagi sword. While continuing to hold the sword on his body, Lady Tsukiyame shifts herself so that she could sit comfortably next to him. After an hour or so, they both were still by the tree. Sesshomaru still had his eyes closed, while laying against the tree. Jaken and Ah Un both watched as their lord's wounds got purified and his body got healed. Suddenly, the white pure light disappears. Sesshomaru had been fully healed. The saimyosho poison was no longer in his body. She sheathes her Gin JunUsagi away and then rises to her feet, going to recline up against another tree, opposite from where he slept. He started to breathe normally, and his face looked peaceful, but stoic. Jaken seemed to have relaxed afterwards, now knowing his lord would be fine. Ah Un was now lying down to sleep. Nighttime had already come. The moon shined down on all four of them, in the starry sky.
Jaken walked over to Lady Tsukiyame and admitted happily, "Lady Tsukiyame, you healed Lord Sesshomaru with the power of your sword. That was remarkable. You must be just as great of a lady and a phenomenal healer."
It would be expected for Lady Tsukiyame to question whether he was doubting her abilities or praising them. However, she could sense, hear, and feel his feelings enough to understand that was not the case. The little green imp demon was surprisingly not doubting her abilities. Jaken usually did not give praise to her abilities as a powerful lady and daihanyou. He had shown gratitude for what she did. Something that never happened in the ten years they had been traveling together as a group. He had never really thought highly of the young lady half demoness as to him, she was just a half demon…at least not until now.
"Thank you." he said happily. As was usual for Lady Tsukiyame, she didn't verbally acknowledge Jaken's thank you, but instead gave a slight nod.
After he returns to his spot by Ah Un to sleep, Lady Tsukiyame lay back against the tree as she stared up at the beautiful starry nighttime sky, through the trees. She began falling asleep. All four of them slept soundlessly throughout the night, in the deep forests, without even a campfire.
Then the next day, morning came, and the sun had already risen in the clear blue sky. The beautiful morning sun shined down on Lady Tsukiyame through the trees, waking her up. She opened her eyes to find that the others had already left. Their presences could be sensed, heard, and felt up ahead.
"Lord Sesshomaru," Lady Tsukiyame said, looking to her right, "They are all in the clearing."
The young lady half demoness stood to her feet and began heading in the direction her three companions had gone. They hadn't gone too far as they were up ahead, in the sunny clearing. It was so peaceful and quiet. Walking into the clearing to rejoin them, Sesshomaru stood with his back turned, looking away as usual. Ah Un was also eating some grass and Jaken had gone with him as was his lord's order. The young lord demon felt way better than before. As the two stood alone, the warm gentle breezes came by and blew through their hair and clothes, causing them to bounce back and forth. The morning sun shined down on them as some clouds started to pass by in the sky. Sesshomaru had glanced back at Lady Tsukiyame, who stood behind him silently, looking up at the sky.
She could not help but think about the long battle they both have had with their enemy's resurrected army. Sesshomaru fought fifty demon samurai warriors of the Axe Tiger, while patrolling the western lands and searching for his father's tomb and heirloom the Tetsusaiga. Lady Tsukiyame fought fifty demon samurai warriors of the Axe Tiger, while traveling back to the eastern lands to search for their enemy Naraku's whereabouts. There was no telling where the half vermin and his army could have gone.
"I take it," Sesshomaru asked suddenly, looking away as usual, "You were attacked by Naraku's new resurrected army?"
"I was, yes," Lady Tsukiyame stated briefly, looking away as usual, "They had ambushed me during my travel back to the eastern lands to search for Naraku's whereabouts, and I battled with them."
"I see," he said coolly, "And you have survived the battle with them. The Gin JunUsagi protected you in battle?"
There are legends that also exist and are known about Lady Tsukiyame's sword. Just like Sesshomaru, the young lady half demoness also wields and carries not one, but two legendary swords. The sword that is one of the most legendary is her healing sword Gin JunUsagi. The Gin JunUsagi is not only a purifying powerful blade that can heal both demons and humans alike of injuries and sicknesses. It can also aid and protect its' wielder and owner, Lady Tsukiyame in battles, hence why she was whisked away from the battle with Naraku's army. However, Sesshomaru's inherited heirloom Tenseiga happens to be the most legendary sword out of the others.
Still, the question was unexpected, and she didn't understand why Sesshomaru would ask her that. The name of her healing sword seemed to have sounded familiar to him. He had never lay eyes on the blade before, nor did he know what it looked like. Perhaps he had heard of the legends about the Gin JunUsagi.
'How does he know about my sword,' Lady Tsukiyame thought and wondered, 'The Gin JunUsagi protecting me during my battle with the demon samurai warriors?'
"Why do you ask?" she asked curiously. She was not looking away from him this time.
"The Gin JunUsagi," Sesshomaru said, looking away, "Is legend for its' purifying abilities. It is said that the sword can heal others of injuries and sicknesses. Not to mention the blade is known for being powerful enough to protect its' master in battles. I never believed such a sword would ever exist."
"And yet, it does," she said, "I am the wielder of the legendary blade."
As the two stood in silence, Sesshomaru began thinking about his own sword. He glanced down at his Tenseiga at his left side, in his blue and yellow sash. He seemed to be starting to learn more about his father's legendary inherited heirloom fang and better understand its power. It was the first time the heirloom had ever aided him in a battle, let alone protect him from dying in battle, like what had happened when he fought Naraku's army of demon samurai warriors. It is still unknown as to why his father, the Great Dog Demon, bestowed the Tenseiga on him. Lady Tsukiyame took note of him looking down at the heirloom.
"So, Lord Sesshomaru," Lady Tsukiyame asked casually, "Why do you look down at your sword, the Tenseiga?"
This time, the two were standing facing each other. She felt uncomfortable looking into those golden amber eyes of his. However, she was not going to back down anytime soon. It wouldn't be a surprise to Sesshomaru if she had heard about the Tenseiga given its known legends.
"This is an heirloom that was bestowed on me by my father," Sesshomaru began and stated, "It is unclear as to why he had done so. The sword is not nearly as powerful as the other heirloom fang he left behind, the Tetsusaiga. I can't kill my enemies, whom are from the living world with it. I have also been searching for my father's tomb to claim the Tetsusaiga as rightfully mine."
"I see," she noted, "But your Tenseiga can kill beings that are not from the living world. It can also save one hundred lives and protect you in battles as its wielder, can it not?"
He just stared at her, and simply stated, "That's what it does, yes. However, my father's other heirloom fang is better suited for and more worthy of me. It is destined to be mine. I will gain possession of it soon enough. And then Naraku will be defeated."
Silence.
"If the Tetsusaiga was meant to be yours to wield," she asked bluntly, "Why wasn't it left for you?"
"My father always had a funny way for how he did things."
"Hm."
After the two briefly conversed, they stood before each other and continued to stare at each other. Her expressionless lilac eyes met up with his expressionless golden amber eyes. More warm gentle breezes came by and blew through their hair and clothes as they stood in the clearing. Without verbally thanking Lady Tsukiyame for healing him, Sesshomaru gave a slight nod before turning away from her.
Their arch enemy Naraku and his army of demon samurai warriors of the Axe Tiger being tough to defeat was trouble enough. Even if Sesshomaru does succeed at gaining possession of his father's heirloom Tetsusaiga, the venomous villain would still be difficult to take. It will take both pure spiritual power and demonic power to destroy him. Not to mention that he has an uncanny way of keeping both Lady Tsukiyame and Sesshomaru from touching him and taking out his newest resurrected army.
Jaken and Ah Un both came back to join them. The two headed dragon demon had finished eating some grass. The little green imp demon was holding his reigns in one hand and his two-headed staff in another hand, as they were walking back.
"Lord Sesshomaru," Jaken called out and said, "Oh, and Lady Tsukiyame."
"We are leaving." Sesshomaru simply said.
"Yes, my lord." he said. All four of them began leaving the clearing and were heading back into the forest.
This was the eighteenth chapter!
Both Lady Tsukiyame and Sesshomaru have recovered from the battle with their enemy's Axe Tiger army. Still not yet succeeding at defeating the army or Naraku, the search will continue. Meanwhile, Lady Tsukiyame will also continue the search for her other enemy Jaakugou and the snake demon tribe to defeat them. Look forward to the next chapter to see what happens.
Until then, bye for now!
