The Beginning of Time
In the Beginning of Time, three goddesses descended from the heavens to the desolate world of Hyrule. Din, goddess of power, cultivated the land with her strong, flaming arms; Nayru, goddess of wisdom, gave the land the gift of law; Farore, goddess of courage, created all life-forms who would uphold the law.
The goddesses then returned to the heavens, but not before they left their mark upon the land they had created. This mark was the Tri-Force.The Tri-Force represents Power, Courage, and Wisdom; the same as the goddesses themselves. To prevent evil from gaining the Tri-Force, the goddesses hid it away within the Scarred Realm.
In case evil ever did find a way to gain the Tri-Force, the goddesses created the sword known as Evil's Bane, or simply, The Master Sword. No evil could withstand its power, and so evil feared this blade more than the goddesses themselves, causing them to try and find a way to destroy the sword of Evil's Bane. The goddesses knew this would happen, and sealed the sword with powerful magic, so only great heroes, such as the Waker of the Winds and the Hero of Time, could wield it and its power.
