3. Chapter 3

Link's arrival

"Great Deku Tree, please, take my son and raise him as a child of the forest. He has a great destiny to fulfill." The woman held in her arms a child, her son, and was wearing an emerald green cloak with the hood up to hide her green hair and green eyes. Her name was Farore, goddess of courage.

"Of course I will take the boy, your holiness, but, are you sure this is what you want for your son?" replied the gigantic, withered old tree. He knew the kokiri would raise him as one of their own, but the boy would always be different, and eventually he would have to leave the forest.

"Yes, It is." The goddess replied firmly. She bent down and kissed the child's head and handed him to a young kokiri girl with green hair, while whispering "stay safe my son, your destiny will reveal itself to you in good time, so take this time to prepare, Link, my son." Quickly, she stood and walked off into the forest, before disappearing in amongst the trees.
