And I am back with another chapter of Remnant Unleashed. I'm surprised that I got eight reviews for my last chapter. When I was doing my Lone Wolf series the most, I got per chapter was three while for Mobile Suit RWBY I got only one review or no reviews when I posted a new chapter.
Maybe its because I am using the Star Wars universe before Disney took over the series and got rid of the Force Unleashed series, cancelling the third game which I heard was to be open world and would force Starkiller and Vader to work together against something the Emperor unleashed. Or maybe it's because I brought in Vader and showed off the power of the dark side, but I am not so sure.
Anyway, lets get onto the reviews.
Jack Smith1: Thank you for those words. Now in regards for the Empire getting repulsed and the Republic being restored, that's a long way away. As for Anakin being transported to the future from the past, do you have any ideas about that?
Sheploo: Well, not exactly Padme, but someone who looked like her. After all, it is said that everyone has a look alike.
54godamora, Hamm1999, hpmagic1, Mr. Shades42 and everyone else: Yep! I brought in Darth Maul. Let's face it, seeing as we don't know what happened to Maul before Disney took over Star Wars, I'd figure I would bring him in and give Salem a little knowledge about the Force, Jedi and Sith.
Luffy L Deathwalker: You'll see how Dante is related to that bastard Jacque as the story continues. But I can assure you, as I wrote last chapter, Dante is nothing like his uncle. As for Galen taking Ruby under his wing, that will happen, but not just yet.
Finally, Spartan-626: Yes, it is a dire situation for Remnant now that Salem has formed and alliance with Sidious and the Empire. Also, I didn't know about Vader not being able to use Force Lightning, but I'll make it so that it is something he does only if he has no other choice.
Alright, reviews are done let's get going. Oh, before I forget, I'm considering on doing something I will call 'The Lone Wolf Chronicles'. Details about that will be given at the end of the chapter.
Disclaimers are the same as before, please enjoy.
Chapter 14: Darkness Rising
When Dante touched down in Atlas after his encounter with Mr. X, he found that many of the Atlas military were none too pleased with his actions. While he did succeed in stopping the droid fighters from attacking both Atlas and Mantle, the top brass chewed him out for 'defying orders and abandoning his post during battle'. This was mostly because Dante shot down his former squadron who were 'following orders'. This in turn caused many in the Atlas forces to see him as a White Fang sympathizer and kept whispering to many other soldiers to 'watch their backs from the traitor'.
Dante didn't care what they said about him at all and continued to follow his own beliefs while trying to stay within the military chain of command. Once he was finished with the debriefing, Dante was about to head to his quarters when he was stopped by someone whom he trusted.
"It appears that every day the military is always looking for a scapegoat when something happens, making them look bad." A human girl of twenty-three years old with blonde hair, emerald eyes and fair skin said to him. Looking up, Dante smiled at the sight of the girls old styled blue dress with a white skirt underneath the dress, silver gauntlets, boots, chest plate and armor on the skirt. Her hair was tied in a bun by a blue bow and underneath her skirt was a sheath and sword. "Day after day, it seems that they are still trying to find a way to discharge you from the military and all because you saved the lives of several innocent people working for a company your uncle was trying to put out of business. It is disgusting."
"I couldn't agree with you more, Artoria." Dante said in agreement.
Artoria Penwolf, cousin of Arthur Penwolf on her fathers' side, the top student of her graduating class from Atlas Academy and also one of the youngest Atlas specialists in many years. She grew up in Mantle with her parents who used to work in a Schnee Dust mine before they were laid off in favor of Faunus workers. Due to the layoff her parents struggled to make ends meet taking any job they could to provide Artoria with a decent life.
Sadly, due to the corruption of several past Atlas Councilors Mantle's defenses were left in a state of disrepair and with fewer and fewer soldiers in the city, this led to many people expressing their anger towards the people of Atlas, anger which brought the Grimm to the city. Hundreds of people were killed in the attack, including Artoria's parents and she would have been killed as well had it not been for a squad of Atlas Special forces soldiers who were deployed without even getting orders from their commanders and pushed the Grimm back. With her parent's dead, Artoria would have been become homeless had it not been for one of the soldiers taking her in and raising her as if she was his own child.
As a result, Artoria grew up in a more pleasant lifestyle, but she still kept in touch with her cousin Arthur whose parents were great warriors. She also yearned for the chance to give back to both the soldier who took her in and the place she called home. This was her motivation on becoming a Huntress and when she was old enough, applied for Atlas Academy where she continued to train hard to achieve her goal. Compared to her cousin Arthur, Artoria was a master swordswoman and had no experience with ranged weapons. As a result, she crafted her own sword, the cousin to Arthur's weapon Excalibur which she called Caliburn, but knew that one day it would need an upgrade.
An upgrade that was her family's legacy. Long ago, the Penwolfs approached Nicholas Schnee, the founder of the Schnee Dust Company with plans for upgrades to Excalibur, giving it a ranged mode. Nicholas agreed and gave his word that the plans would be built only for the Penwolfs and them alone. Sadly, Nicholas Schnee's health began to deteriorate and Dante's uncle, Jacque took over the company and was quick to back out of the deal, going as far as to try and patent the plans as his own.
Lucky for the Penwolfs, many of the people who Nicholas hired to help with making these plans left the Schnee Company but couldn't take the plans with them. This in turn forced Jacque to put the plans in a secure location until he could find someone willing to build the upgrades. Unfortunately, shortly after the White Fang turned from a peaceful protest group to an extremist group, the plans were stolen by the White Fang who also had a grudge against the Penwolfs, since they refused to train newer White Fang members in swordsmanship which was going to be used against the innocent people of Remnant. Artoria heard of these plans and took on many missions involving the White Fang, hoping that she could recover the plans and give both her cousins and her own weapon the upgrade they needed, but she found no leads. Still, she was determined to find what rightfully belonged to her family.
"General Ironwood wishes to speak with you about what really happened at the base." She added, walking towards Dante.
"Well, let's not keep the General waiting." Dante said and followed Artoria to a Bullhead waiting to take them to Atlas Academy, the Huntsmen Academy on the Solitas continent. Once they boarded the craft, the Bullhead immediately headed for the Academy which many considered to be the most technological advanced in all of Remnant.
The bullhead touched down and waiting for them were several AK-130s who escorted both Artoria and Dante to the office of James Ironwood, the headmaster of Atlas Academy, general of the Atlas military and the holder of two seats on the Atlas council.
When they arrived at the General's office, they found the black haired-greying general waiting for them, dressed in his white overcoat, black sweater, red necktie, silver boots and white pants. "Specialist Penwolf, Lieutenant Gelé." The general addressed them before he gave the AK-130's a series of commands, leaving them alone as both Artoria and Dante stood at attention. "First off, allow me to congratulate you on surviving your encounter with 'Mr. X'. If we lost one of our best pilots, Atlas… no all of Remnant would be in a more dire state then we already are."
"I don't deserve congratulations, General." Dante began. "Mobius Squadron is gone; the base has been destroyed and I'm more than willing to bet that our Sabre and Sentinel fighters were destroyed in the attack. I failed to take down 'Mr. X' and failed my mission."
"Yes, that is true." Ironwood said in agreement. "But you did succeed in destroying the Vulture, Hyena and Scarab class unknowns that were using the chaos to launch an attack on us. Based on the flight data we acquired from one of the intact terminals from the now destroyed base, we determined that the target of the enemy fighters was another military base, this located in close proximity to another settlement. Had you not followed orders to intercept the unknowns, a lot of people civilian and military would have been killed." He began. "Furthermore, not everything from the base was destroyed. Several Sentinel and Sabre fighters were still intact. This time, the production and testing of these fighters will be done closer to the kingdom where we have better defenses." He added.
"What about the soldiers who were stationed at the base?" Artoria asked. "Do we know who attacked them?"
"Based on their wounds, the most of the soldiers at AK-130s were destroyed by a weapon that literally cauterized while the machines looked like something had melted through their armor like it was butter. I don't think we've ever seen a weapon like this before. Furthermore, it appears that other soldiers and personal at the base were killed by basic weaponry, bullets and blades. Even the Huntress that was assigned to the base as the test pilot of the Sabyr-E was killed. Whoever attacked the base clearly meant to destroy everything in their path." Ironwood said, looking over the report he got from the personal sent to investigate the destroyed base.
"Lieutenant Gelé, you fought the unknown craft that was piloted by 'Mr. X', describe the craft for us." Ironwood asked, turning to Dante.
"It was unlike anything I had seen before. Its weapons were far more advanced then anything we had seen before and it appeared to have some kind of shield similar to an Aura protecting it from most weapons fire. It wasn't as fast as the F-22, but from what I could tell, the person piloting it was far more skilled then anyone, maybe even the Galm Team and Trigger." Dante reported.
Ironwood paused for a moment before he looked over the report again. "You called out to the unknown pilot and requested that they either change their course or land at the base at the thought that the craft was damaged. Why did you contact the pilot?" he asked.
"I felt like that the unknown craft could be a prototype developed by Vale or another kingdom. I didn't want to be the one to start another Great War between the kingdoms because of an Atlas pilot with an itchy trigger finger." He answered.
"You did the right thing in not attacking as soon as you made contact with the unknown fighter. I'm glad at least one pilot used their head before the battle began." Ironwood said with a smile before he returned to a serious look. "Tell me, have either of you two heard of the 'Wandering Huntsmen'?" Ironwood asked the two.
"Only rumors, General." Artoria answered. "A man with a weapon and skills unlike anything ever seen in years. It is said that the man is like that of the warriors told about in stories. The Jedi."
"Yes, the Jedi." Ironwood said in agreement. "Warriors said to wield a power they call 'the force'." He added before he reached into his desk and pulled out a file which he handed to the two of them. "What you are about to read is top secret and classified military information. If you so much as breath a word of what you have read, I'll have no choice but to arrest you both on charges of treason." He warned the two before he gestured for the two to take a seat.
Opening the files, both Artoria and Dante gazed at the pictures of recovered pieces of equipment, remains of enemy craft and several blurry images from Vale of a large unknown ship. "A week and a half ago, unknown forces landed on an island west of Patch, an island in the kingdom of Vale. These attackers captured one of Beacons students and would have no doubt taken them away from the planet had it not been for several students, along with assistance from numerous unknown forces." Ironwood began.
Both Artoria and Dante looked at the images of the captured remains of Stormtrooper armor, weapons and remains of several TIE fighters that were recovered by Vale. "My ally in the Vale military, along with Professor Ozpin sent me these photos. It appears that there is more than just the Grimm and White Fang to worry about. Furthermore, reports indicated that the 'Wandering Huntsman' was present at the battle." He added, showing a photo of Galen with his lightsabers out. "According to Ozpin, the man's name is Galen Marek, a Jedi Knight who arrived on Remnant by unknown means. The captured equipment belongs to a group called the 'Galactic Empire' a dictatorship that destroyed the old 'Galactic Republic' and hunted down the Jedi after an attempt to take over the Republic. As for the ones fighting alongside this boy, they are Clone Troopers from what I have been told." He continued.
"So, then what Arthur told me about was true. There is a Jedi on Remnant." Artoria said in awe.
"Not just one, but several and numerous Clone troopers as well. They defeated the forces the Empire sent to this planet, but I have a feeling that there is more to this then we know." He added. "As you both know, the Vytal Festival is being held in Vale in the fall and Vale has become a recent hotspot in White Fang activity. The two of you are being transferred to my command and will accompany me and the students competing in the festival. Mr. Gelé, you will be working with Warwolf Squadron. I've been told that you and Lieutenant Colonel Bishop have worked together in the past. Mrs. Penwolf, I am assigning you to work with the local huntsmen and handle the White Fang. I've been told that the White Fang faction in Vale might have what you have been looking for."
"When do we leave?" Artoria asked, closing the file and handing it back to Ironwood.
"We leave in a few days."
"General, I would request to inform 'her' about Trigger's condition. As you know, she is the boys only living relative left and I imagine she is worried about her nephew." Artoria requested.
"I understand. But do not tell her about the Jedi or the Empire." Ironwood reminded her. Artoria nodded and left the general's office. "Captain Gelé, when Mr. Autumn recovers, you are to train him in operating the Sabre E that we recovered from the base. We'll need as many pilots as we can get. I have a feeling that these encounters are only the precursor of things to come."
Dante knew that the General was right and had the same feeling.
Week's later, Vale was alive with activity. The coming Vytal festival in the winter meant that Vale was going to be full of people wanting to see the festival, especially those who managed to get tickets for event. The shopkeeper of 'From Dust till Dawn' finished hanging a sign, declaring the re-opening of the shop and was climbing down his ladder when he stumbled and fell to the ground.
"Excuse me, sorry." A girl with dark skin, mint-green hair and red eyes said to the shop-keeper, giggling at the sight. The girl also wore white and pale green clothing. "I'm not really from around here. Would you mind pointing me in the direction of this shop?" she asked, helping the shopkeeper to his feet and showing the man a piece of paper with the name of the shop.
Once she had the direction to the shop she was looking for, the girl waved goodbye to the shopkeeper and walked past an alley where a boy wearing gray and black clothing with silvery grey hair, grey eyes and pale skin was waiting. "I knew you were lost." The boy said.
"Mercury, I will seriously pay you to shut up." The girl said to the now named Mercury who produced a wallet with Lien, waving it in Mercury's face.
"That's not your money." Mercury said, knowing that the girl had picked the shopkeepers wallet.
"But it could be yours for 5 minutes of silence." The girl offered, but Mercury didn't take the money and just walked away with Mercury soon following after her.
"Whatever. You want me." Mercury teased before following after his partner, passing cafés and other buildings as they continued on towards their destination. "So, how much further?" Mercury asked.
"It's just a few blocks away." The girl answered.
"Ugh… this place is so dull." Mercury complained.
"Eh, I kinda like it. Tall buildings, diverse culture…" the girl began before Mercury interrupted her and mentioning about the people the girl could pickpocket.
This got the girl the annoyed and she came to a stop who mentioned that it was like that in every city they had visited. "Ooh, Emerald! Master thief! Please don't take my money! I barely have enough to get by!" Mercury teased the girl now named Emerald, playing the part of a victim. Emerald just glared at her partner, groaning angrily before walking away. "Ugh… you're no fun today." Mercury stated as the two kept walking towards their destination.
When they arrived at their destination, they found that the building that was home to a store called 'Tukson's Book Trade' completed empty as if someone knew they were coming. "This isn't right. I thought the target was leaving in two days?" Mercury questioned.
"Maybe they knew we were coming. Or they might have decided to leave early after that ship crashed into the harbor a few weeks ago?" Emerald suggested. "Whatever the case, we came all this way for nothing. Roman has some explaining to do." she added.
As the two teens left the unoccupied store, miles away from the city of Vale out in the ocean was a large island that was once an important military base during the great war. It had been long since remained untouched by time, but those days were over. The buildings and hangers were fixed up, barracks were put up and various starfighters, walkers and tanks belonging to the remnants of the clone army were being tunned up after many years of gathering dust. The bandit vehicle that Galen found in Vacuo was also being mass produced along with other versions with different types of armor, weapons and speed.
Two types of vehicles had tougher armor and equipped with heavy machine guns or repeating blaster cannons that were either on the back or the front of the vehicles. Another set of them were equipped with plasma grenade launchers, but one of them had a spring-mounted chassis which allowed it to jump great distances or across broken bridges. The last two were armed with forward mounted machine gun/blaster cannon hybrids and designed for hit and run attacks or scouting missions. All of the versions were combined with Remnant technology and republic technology, making them hybrid wheeled/repulsor vehicles designed for any terrain.
Both clones and Faunus engineers worked day after day building, testing and making sure these new vehicles were ready for deployment at a moments notice. No one would believe that the Faunus working on the vehicles were former White Fang members, who like Tukson left the organization after it became clear that violence was becoming the White Fang's preferred method of operation.
As for the Puma Faunus himself, Tukson could hardly believe it that a Jedi had came to his shop and warned him of the threat on his life. At first, Tukson planned on leaving Vale for Vacuo, but decided he could put his old skills as a vehicle expert and mechanic for the White Fang to good use, especially if it meant keeping the likes of the Galactic Empire from taking over the planet he called home. "Everyone who's finished assembling the scout vehicles go take a break. Those of you working on the weapons, make sure you triple check them, especially the interchangeable components. The last thing anyone needs is for the weapons to malfunction before a battle." Tukson instructed the workers.
One of the Faunus engineers, a leopard Faunus working on one of the vehicles dropped their wrench, rubbing their eyes before he returned to work, only for Tukson to put a hand on his shoulder. "Danny, go get some rest. There's no point in working when your tired. You'll only get yourself sick and that's the last thing anyone wants." Tukson said to his fellow Faunus.
"Sorry about that, I just haven't been getting enough sleep." Danny answered.
"Go get some rest then, I'll have someone else take over your work." Tukson told the Faunus. Danny nodded and headed for the living quarters that was constructed days prior to beginning work on the vehicles. "I never once liked the idea of using violence to get what we want from humanity," Tukson began as Plo Koon walked over to him. "Violence only breeds violence and that in turn makes the humans think my people are nothing but violent monsters. I joined the White Fang because I wanted to make a difference without needing a weapon, now it seems that more and more Faunus believe in actually wielding weapons to get what we want. If this keeps up, war will come." He added.
"And yet you agreed to help us with the construction of these vehicles for war." Plo stated. "I know you used to work with vehicles during your time in the White Fang, but even after we told you about the purpose of these vehicles you still agreed to assist us. Why?" he asked.
"I guess it was in part due to Zett having warned me about the attempt on my life. That and after what you've told me about this Empire, you're going to need all the firepower you can get, Master Jedi." Tukson answered. "I'm through running away from the White Fang. If I'm to fight my old comrades, then I'll fight them for a peaceful future. One that both humans and Faunus can work towards." He added, picking up the wrench and began to do the work that Danny was doing.
Back in Vale, in the cafeteria of Beacon, Blake was looking over her notebook. Sketches and notes which included the insignia of the White Fang, masked individual and rose filled the pages as Blake looked over the pages before Yang slid up next to her partner. "Whatcha doing?" the blonde-haired asked the cat-faunus.
"Nothing. Just going over notes from last semester." Blake answered, quickly closing her notebook as Yang caught a grape in her mouth.
"Lame." Yang said, catching another grape in her mouth as Nora, the person who flung the grapes giggled. While both their teams along continued to eat their breakfast, Ruby gave a great heave and slammed a large binder on the table, catching everyone off guard. On the cover of the binder was written 'Vytal Festival Activities, Property of Weiss Schnee' which had been crossed out in a red marker and written in the same red marker under the title 'Best Day Ever Activities' written underneath it.
Clearing her throat, Ruby gestured to everyone at the table. "Sisters… friends… canines… Weiss." Ruby began, getting Weiss to shout 'Hey!' at her. "Four score and seven minutes ago, I had a dream."
"This ought to be good." Yang whispered to Blake, before catching a berry in her mouth.
"A dream that one day, the four of us will come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had… ever!" she exclaimed.
"Did you steal my binder?" Weiss asked.
"I am not a crook." Ruby said, making the 'peace' sign with both her hands.
"What are you talking about?" Blake asked.
"I'm talking about kicking off the semester with a bang!" she said, pointing a finger at Blake.
"I always kick my semesters off with a Yang! Eh? Guys? Am I right?" Yang asked, trying to make a joke before Nora tossed an apple at Yang, hitting her in the face, much to the dismay of three members of Team GARM that were sitting nearby.
"Look guys, it's been a good two weeks and between more exchange students arriving and the tournament at the end of the year, our second semester is going to be great! But classes start back up again tomorrow! Which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today." Ruby explained.
"Seems someone's put their ordeal with the empire past them." Rose said to Arthur while Rufus chewed on the Apple that Nora had thrown at Yang.
"I don't know whether to be proud or scared of what you have in store." Weiss admitted while Yang, still glaring picks up another apple and tossed it across the room, hitting someone else.
"I don't know. I think I'll sit this one out, like Galen." Blake answered.
"Hey, where is Galen?" Ruby asked.
"Not sure. But still, sit out or not, I think that however we spend this last day, we should do it as a team!" Weiss answered and stated. Before she could say anything else, she got a pie to the face courtesy of Nora who pointed to Ren, trying to pin the blame on him while Pyrrha and Jaune had their hands over their mouths while the members of Team GARM quickly took cover.
Meanwhile, Galen stood alone in one of the training rooms in Beacon before he sat down and began to meditate over the events that occurred over the last two weeks. First, he discovered that thousands of clone troopers had removed their inhibitor chips and saved several Jedi who were reported to have been killed. Second, the Empire had arrived on Remnant, captured Ruby and would have taken her to the Emperor had it not been for his and Ruby's teams along with veterans of the war. Third, battle droids along with numerous starfighters used by various mercenary groups and the separatist forces. Forth, was the fact that the Schnee Dust Company somehow transported dozens of Droids to Vale prior to the break after the first semester.
Galen had many questions but not many answers. 'I sensed a dark presence days ago, a presence that felt familiar. It couldn't have been Vader, but if it was, why did he come here?' Galen thought as he meditated.
"So, you're the Jedi I've heard about." A smooth voice said, causing Galen to open his eyes and came face to face with a Mandalorian. "I've heard from Cenna about boy with weapons much like mine." The Mandalorian added, gesturing to the two lightsabers attached to his waist.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Galen asked, jumping to his feet.
"Oh, forgive me. I'm Sedyn Merrick, the Ghost of Mandalore and leader of the 332nd armored legion." Sedyn introduced himself, holding out his hand. "Did I forget to mention that I'm also a purge survivor?" he added.
"You survived the purge?" Galen asked.
"Yes. I was only eight years old when I was touring a Republic cruiser with a Jedi Master who had taken an interest in my skills when Order 66 came down. A member of the Coruscant guard shot the Jedi in the back and would have killed me if it hadn't been for Stagger who didn't hesitate to shot the trooper. After that, we escaped Coruscant and went into hiding, me and the entire 332nd legion who told me all about the inhibitor chips and their purpose. As a result, we thought we were the only ones who removed their chips after Fordo told Stagger about the chips. We jumped to the unknown regions with every single trooper being put into stasis pods. As for myself, I guided the ship down to Remnant and decided to train myself in the ways of the force and Mandalorian combat." Sedyn explained.
"Somehow I had a feeling you were Mandalorian, the name 'Ghost of Mandalore' gave it away." Galen said with a chuckle. "You don't look like a student." He added.
"No, I'm actually the CQC/hand-to-hand instructor for Beacon. I graduated four years ago, found a YT-1300 freighter in Atlas, fixed up and have been traveling between Remnant and our galaxy working as a bounty hunter, seeing if anyone had the mirshko to fight against the empire. Plus, the money I make as a part time bounty hunter helps me get a little something for my lady." He answered with a smirk.
"Your 'lady'?" Galen asked.
"Cenna Peach. But I'm sure you know her as Professor Peach, Plant Sciences teacher here at Beacon and a fellow Huntress." Sedyn answered.
"Huh, didn't know that." Galen remarked. "So, what's the real reason that you came looking for me?" he asked.
"Well, since classes don't start until tomorrow and since you're a fellow Jedi, I thought you might indulge me with a friendly duel. I haven't faced anyone worth my time aside from a few dark side acolytes I encountered when one of my missions took me to Korriban, but they were novices. I prefer a challenge." Sedyn replied with a grin. "So, what do you say, care to test your skills against mine?" he asked, unbuckling the belt that held his blasters and removed much of his other gear, including a double-bladed lightsaber.
"Well, I've never fought a Mandalorian Jedi before. Alright, you're on." Galen said accepting the challenge. "Nothing but your sabers and the force?"
"Like many Mandalorian warriors before me, I fight with honor, even when others do not. Without honor, victory is meaningless. It's the one thing in this galaxy that no one can take from you." Sedyn answered, before igniting his lightsabers yellow blade. Galen followed suit and ignited his blue blade. "First one to get their saber knocked out of their hands is the victor?" Galen suggested.
"Agreed, begin." Sedyn said.
Galen made the first move and lunged at Sedyn with a Form IV diagonal slash which Sedyn blocked before attacking with a Form III strike. With tight bladework, Sedyn continued to block Galen's attacks, waiting for the right moment before he swept Galen off his feet with a low-sweep kick. Bringing his blade down, Sedyn was surprised to say the least that Galen stopped the attack with the force. "Impressive. You're certainly strong in the force." Sedyn complimented, before Galen kicked him in the chest with his feet and getting back up.
"You'd be surprised at what I've been through for most of my life." Galen stated before attacking with a Form V attack which Sedyn countered with a Form V attack of his own. "You must have studied Lightsaber combat from a Holocron you found, right?" Galen asked.
"That's true. When I attended Beacon, I helped Doctor Oobleck on several of his expeditions and found several holocrons. The knowledge they possessed helped me in further developing my skills in forms III and V." Sedyn replied, sending a large burst of force energy that pushed Galen towards the edge of the room and almost got his saber knocked out of his hands. This also allowed Sedyn to attack Galen with a Form V swipe in a reverse grip position much like the one he preferred. "It seems that you prefer Forms III and V much like myself. Is this truly the limit of your abilities?" Sedyn asked, feeling somewhat disappointed.
Galen growled before using a few Form VII swings, forcing Sedyn to block each of Galen's strikes, pushing him back. "Interesting, it seems that while you channel your inner darkness in your attacks, I sense a strong resolve and desire to protect, balancing your emotions." Sedyn observed.
"You're right, I do have a resolve and desire to protect. Its because I made a promise to someone that I would protect her daughter from those who seek to destroy her." Galen answered, blasting Sedyn with a strong force push which the Mandalorian Jedi quickly dodged only to be caught unprepared for Galen who used a Form VII strike and knocked his opponent's lightsaber out of his hands.
"I yield." Sedyn said, sweeting like crazy. "You are strong in lightsaber combat, but how are you with hand-to-hand combat?" he asked Galen, calling his lightsaber back to him after getting back to his feet.
"Are you sparring with students before classes ever begin again?" someone said from behind. Turning around, Galen saw that the speaker was a woman of twenty-three years old, with light brown skin, orange hair and red eyes standing in the doorway of the training room. The women's attire consisted of a white lab coat, black latex gloves, black latex boots which covered her tights and a pin in her hair. "Honestly, you can't go one day without testing someone with a lightsaber, can you my warrior?" the woman said with a sigh.
"I only wanted to test him, Cenna. Besides, this is Galen Marek, the leader of Team GARM and a Jedi much like myself." Sedyn answered, picking up his other gear.
"Ah, so you're the one who defended their fellow students after Team CRDL tried to pull that prank on Mr. Arc and Miss Nikos." Cenna asked. "Well, I must say that you are certainly a skilled warrior, but not like my Merrick here." she added with a giggle and gave Sedyn's a peck on the cheek.
"Is it normal for teachers to be in a relationship with one another? Wouldn't that cause problems if you two were to get married or something? Two teachers out for a honeymoon would mean your classes would have to be canceled, right?" Galen asked.
"It would, but we put our work before our feelings for each other. Besides, we see each other practically every day." Cenna answered. "But when it comes to his work, he always brings me back something nice from the planets he visits. He brought me back a nice dress from… what was the planet called again?" the plant science teacher asked.
"Naboo." Sedyn answered.
"Well, it was nice to meet the two of you. I'm sure we'll see each other again in class." Galen said before he headed for the cafeteria. "Oh, I'm not sure if you already know, but there are several Jedi using an old military base…" he began.
"Located on an island far away from the Kingdom of Vale. I know it, my men are there right now helping the others constructing more versions of the vehicle you found in Vacuo." Sedyn finished.
"One step ahead of me." Galen muttered. "Well, I'll see you two later." He added.
When he arrived at the cafeteria, Galen found Sun and a teenage boy with blue hair, white dress shirt with a black tie under a red jacket with a wide, upturned black collar and silver reticle across the back, grey jeans with black padding on the sides, black shoes with straps, black fingerless gloves and a pair of tinted yellow-goggles on his forehead. "Sun, what are you doing just standing outside the cafeteria?" Galen asked.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Rose said from nearby, with Arthur and March their clothing covered in pieces of food.
"What happened to you three?" he asked.
He soon got his answers when he heard a familiar grunt and turned to see Ruby using her semblance and dashed through the cafeteria sending everything in the food court to follow her through the tailwind which was caused by her overwhelming speed. Spinning around and creating a hurricane of food which sent Team JNPR slamming into a wall with food and drink, who then slide off the wall leaving only their outlines.
"I love these guys." Sun said to his friend who was drenched in soda and none-to-pleased. Soon enough, Glynda arrived and used her telekinesis to re-organize the room.
"Children, please." Glynda said with a growl before adjusting her glasses. "Do not play with your food!"
Nora burped aloud, causing both teams to try and utterly fail to compose themselves as a screaming Yang crashed from the ceiling into one of the tables. "I don't even want to know." Galen muttered. He soon sensed something heading towards him and barely had time to dodge as a pie was thrown into his face by Nora. The pie fell to the floor and Galen wiped what was left of the pie from his face.
"Let it go." Ozpin said to a grumbling Glynda as the two teams and March started to laugh.
"They're supposed to be the defenders of the world." Glynda said with a sigh.
"And they will, but right now they're still children. So why not let them play the part?" Ozpin suggested before he started to walk away. "After all, it isn't a role they'll have forever."
The rest of the day went uneventful for the students from Beacon, but in an old warehouse that was being used by the White Fang, crates were being moved around by members of the terrorist group while Emerald, Mercury, Roman and a women named Cinder were discussing Roman's failure to eliminate Tukson.
"Why leave a task like this to a common criminal." A voice said from the shadows of several nearby crates. Walking out of the shadows, the figure was revealed to be none other than the bounty hunter known as Boba Fett. "If it were me, I would have handled it quickly, quietly and left nothing left of the traitor for the police to even find. But that idea is nothing more than a waste since the man has escaped." He said with disappointment.
"Our 'guest' speaks the truth." Cinder said before turning to Roman. "So, Roman. Why wasn't this job done sooner?" she asked. All Roman did was point to his right, left and behind him to all the crates behind him.
"Sorry if I've been busy stealing every speck of Dust in the Kingdom!" Roman exclaimed.
"You're an inspiration to every punk with a gun and a ski mask." Mercury said sarcastically while Emerald laughed at the remark.
"Look around, kid. I've got this town running scared! Police camping out at every corner, Dust prices through the roof, and we're sitting pretty on an old warehouse with more Dust crystals, vials and rounds then we know what to do with! Not to mention those shiny new weapons our pal in armor brough with him in that fancy ship of his. Speaking of which, if you guys wouldn't mind filling me in on your grand master plan, it might actually make my next string of robberies go a little smoother!" Roman said, emphasizing the last word with a clenched fist.
"Oh, Roman. Have a little faith." Cinder began before walking up to Roman and placing a hand on his face. "You'll know what you need when you need to know it." She added, getting Roman to drop his anger. "Besides, we're done with Dust."
"O-okay, then what now?" Roman asked, a little confused.
"We're moving. Have the White Fang clear out this building. I'll send you details and coordinates tonight." Cinder answered.
"Coordinates?"
"We're proceeding to phase two." Cinder answered.
"And what exactly is 'phase two'?" Boba asked, feeling somewhat concerned about this plan for his own reasons.
"It's a plan that will bring the world to its knee's and help me get what I rightfully deserve." Cinder answered as she walked out of the warehouse, leaving Boba concerned about this plan even more so then he already was.
And done. Now to answer a few things. Artoria Penwolf is a character I came up and based on Artoria Pendragon, aka Saber from the Fate series. I'd figure I might bring in a cousin to a character given to me by someone who has been supporting my stories in the last three years ago.
Now, the 108th Fighter Wing is from Ace Combat Assault Horizon. Like I said before, I want to give Remnant a fighting chance against the Empire and people that will be able to contribute to the Rebellion in the future.
Sedyn Merrick is an OC given to me by ComparedDread 12, as is the 332nd Armored Legion. I have paired the OC with Professor Peach as he asked me to and he is the hand-to-hand/CQC teacher at Beacon. Since the story takes place seventeen years after the Jedi Purge, he is old enough to be a teacher at Beacon, much like Professor Peach at twenty-three years old.
Now in regards to the Lone Wolf Chronicles I mentioned, I'm thinking about doing a few chapters about several stories that occurred during and after the end of the Clone Wars. I'll be using the concepts from a few action movies like Under Siege 2 and Atomic Train, some concepts from Ace Combat Zero and include a certain professional sniper by the name of Duke Togo, who many of you know as Golgo 13. I am considering this idea and if any of you would like to see that, please let me know.
Anyway, please read and review and I'll see you all next time.
