First off, why doesn't everybody just forget about what I said about our current Commander in chief. I've been trying to keep my political standing out of my fanfiction works, unless it involves Earth and the such.
Second, I want to know why is that when I ever ask for help with my stories, no one can help me out with what I ask? Seriously, I am willing to listen to those who would like to give me any help I can get for writing my stories. Characters, ideas for chapters and the like, I'm willing to listen to what my readers have to say.
Alright, onto reviews.
Luffy L Deathwalker: I'm well aware that the election isn't over and I don't believe everything the press tells me. But since Biden won the electoral vote, he's one step closer to the Oval Office and fixing the current state of the US, not to mention I'm sure he can handle the whole pandemic situation way better than Trump has been handling it.
42: If they are bringing back the F-117, this is the first I've heard of it. Not sure why they would bring it back, since it was replaced by the F-22.
Firestar001: Galen already has his original lightsaber and the one he stole from Raven after their fight, so a double-bladed lightsaber as of right now is out of the question. But the idea will be considered for the future. As for the weight of a lightsabers blade, I am well aware that they have no weight. Now in regards for the Atlas Paladin, sure it is heavily armored and has various weapons like machine guns, rockets and the such so it could take on the AT-ST which is armed a twin-blaster cannon, light blaster cannon, concussion grenade launcher and a concussion missile launcher, but against the likes of the AT-AT the Paladin wouldn't stand a chance. Now the Rommel Tank from Mech Assault 2, while it is armed only with a gravity cannon and dual machine guns, its faster than then the AT-AT. As for the Clones being on Remnant, its not a hyperdrive malfunction that brought them into contact with Galen.
Spartan-626: Glad you liked my last chapter and you will see quite a bit of Artoria this chapter.
Alright, reviews done, lets get this started. Disclaimers are the same as before, so please enjoy.
Chapter 16: Family Legacy
Many warehouses dotted the industrial sector of Vale, many of which were abandoned after years of neglect. As such, no one would suspect that the White Fang was using one of the old warehouses as a supply depot. While most of the Vale branch of the White Fang had been ordered by Roman to move to the new base, those that were still protecting the supplies were taking a bit longer to move since among the stolen weapons and Dust included hundreds of B1 battle droids and Droideka's which Roman and Cinder had claimed to be the latest Atlesian Knight models.
On a nearby roof, Galen, Artoria, Arthur, March, Rose and Bacara observed the factory from a distance. "That's our target. My informant gave me this information the moment I arrived in Vale. The White Fang has stored numerous weapons and ammo that they have stolen from the Kingdom and SDC through out the continent."
"It appears they've been moving a lot of supplies from this place the last few days." Bacara observed. "Either the city isn't safe for these boys, or they've been ordered to move to a new location by their boss."
"Adam Taurus." Galen said, getting everyone's attention.
"You are acquainted with this man?" Artoria questioned.
"No, but I fought him when I first arrived on Remnant. The guy was really upset that I stopped some of his men and their robberies, so upset that he came after me and wanted to kill me. I didn't kill him, but I did send him running." Galen admitted.
"Wow, you are really something if you sent the big cheese running." March said impressed with Galen's achievement.
"Its nothing to brag about." Galen stated before he went back to observing the White Fang. "If my memory serves me right, the White Fang has stolen a lot of Dust from places like From Dust till Dawn and those owned by the SDC. As a result, the price of Dust has gone up, if my theory is correct those men are still loading Dust onto trucks and sending out to who knows where." He theorized before spotted several cargo trucks arriving at the occupied warehouse. "If we were to return the Dust to the people, this might help out a lot of people. Plus, it might also give us an idea of what the White Fang are planning. Maybe it might even get Blake to relax a bit." He added.
"Then we better get moving." Bacara said, putting away his microbinoculars. "I don't know how much Dust these guys have moved, but if we can at least get some of it back to the people, that's a victory in my book. Not to mention I think it would be the right time to show them what we clones are capable of." He said with a smirk underneath his helmet.
"Then let's get moving." Artoria said, putting her binoculars away and turned to the Clone Marshal Commander. "I take it your men are in position?" she asked.
"That's affirmative ma'am. I've got snipers on the rooftops of several buildings around the warehouse, if anyone tries to leave, they'll take them out. We'll try to take as many of them alive as possible, but if we have no choice, we'll take them down." Bacara answered.
"The White Fang isn't known for having its members arrested. Most of them would just as well be willing to die for their cause." Arthur said with disgust.
"Then let's stop gawking and get moving! The longer we wait, the more time the White Fang has the chance to move more of its stolen goods out of the city and we won't be getting any answers and you two won't be getting what rightfully belongs to your family back!" Rose reminded the others.
"Let's get moving." Galen said in agreement and leapt off the roof down to the ground below and moved up, close to the warehouse but keeping himself out of sight as his team, Artoria, Bacara and several troopers, Jesden included. Staying in the shadows, Galen and the others listened to a couple of White Fang goons guarding one of the trucks that was being loaded.
"Hey." The first goon said.
"Yeah?" The second goon answered.
"You ever wonder why we're here?" the first goon asked.
"What kind of question is that?" The second goon snapped.
"Eh, an honest one." The first goon answered with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Well, I can tell you why we are here. We're here to show these humans who the superior species is. Our old high-leader was too weak and soft hearted to do what is needed for our people. We are the voice of those who don't have the courage to fight back against the human pigs. We'll show those humans who abuse us and treat us like monsters what its like to be on the opposite side of the coin." The second one proclaimed. "And those who have betrayed us or are 'proof' that humans and Faunus can live together will also get no mercy from us."
The entire conversation was heard by the troopers and students in the shadows, many of whom were waiting for the order to attack. "Hey, Commander. Switch your weapons to stun and have them target those by the trucks. I've got an idea." March whispered and before anyone could ask what this idea was, March just casually walked towards the White Fang.
"Is he insane!? He's going to get himself killed!" Bacara whispered to Galen.
"We've asked ourselves that same question every time." Galen answered. "Just do as the guy said and get your men to take out the guys by the trucks first, stun them only." He said, repeating March's suggestion.
Bacara nodded and gave his men the orders that were given to them. The troopers crept slowly closer to the White Fang personal guarding their trucks and switched their blasters to stun. As they did, March continued to walk casually towards the White Fang forces. "Uh, excuse me my good men. I got separated from the tour group. Does anyone know where I can find the nearest White Fang base?" March asked casually.
The White Fang soldiers immediately readied their weapons, unaware that their fellow brothers and sisters were being knocked out by well-placed stun shots from the snipers. "Woah, woah. Didn't your boss tell you? I am on your side now." March said casually. "Yeah, I was a student at Beacon but got sick with all the favoritism the human students got so I turned tail and didn't look back. Figured I'd join the winning team, so I took your bosses offer and jumped ship. Imagine the look on Ozpin's face when he finds out that one of his students up and joined the White Fang." He added.
"I didn't…" One of the White Fang goons began before they were stunned. His partner didn't have any time to react before March sucker punched the goon in the stomach, knocking him out.
"Like I'd ever join you crazy guys. You're two sugar cubes short for tea time." March joked.
"Well, that's one way to get the job done." Artoria said with surprise. "Alright, lets move." She ordered. "Commander, if you can have some of your men get on the top of the building we can breach through the windows while Mr. Marek creates an entrance for us." She said, turning to the clone marshal.
Meanwhile, inside the warehouse several White Fang soldiers were readying the crates that were to be loaded onto the trucks and taken to their new base. One of the soldiers, a tall and muscular ox Faunus with a Wakizashi by their side. "Pick up the pace, brothers. Those damned humans could find us at any moment. We must make sure our brothers and sisters at our new base receive everything here. Leave nothing behind." The Faunus ordered his fellow brothers and sisters.
"Brother Angelo." one of the newer White Fang recruits said. "What do you wish us to do about the plans we stole from the Schnee's?" the Faunus asked.
"Take them with us. The success of our plan will no doubt bring some of our more skilled brothers to our cause and they'll be able to construct the weapon." Angelo said with a smirk. "If not, I'm sure my…" he continued before another soldier, a Deer Faunus approached him and whispered something into his ear. "What do you mean the men guarding the trucks haven't reported in yet? Go out there and check on them. Send those new Atlesian Knights if you have too. We…" Angelo ordered only to be interrupted when the door to the warehouse was ripped off its hinges and tossed in the direction of another abandoned warehouse.
The sound of breaking glass was soon heard as dozens of Galactic Marines crashed through the windows. "Drop your weapons and place your hands on your heads, we've got you surrounded!" a trooper shouted.
Through the ripped door, Galen, Artoria, Rose and March walked through with a squadron of troopers led by Bacara, but Arthur was nowhere to be seen. "I'd suggest you all surrender and end this peacefully. No one has to die here." Artoria demanded.
Angelo growled and snapped his fingers, upon which the battle droids activated and looked towards the intruders. "Blast them!" the lead droid shouted before it started to fire at Galen and his allies.
"Find cover now!" Galen shouted, quickly igniting his lightsabers and started to deflect blaster fire away from his allies. Some clones were killed by blaster fire as they ran for cover, but those that made it to cover were quick to begin returning fire at the droids, as were Rose and March who traded in their old borrowed Imperial blasters for Clone issued blasters. In Rose's case, a DP-23 shotgun while March had a single DC-17 pistol like the ones Bacara had holstered on his belt. "March! Get up on the catwalks and help those troopers. Take this!" Galen shouted to the rabbit Faunus, tossing him his secondary lightsaber which the Rabbit Faunus clipped to his belt before sprinting up the catwalk towards the troopers who were taking fire.
"Why in the hell did you give Mr. Silly Rabbit your second lightsaber!?" Rose demanded, firing the last of her shotguns current power pack before reloading.
"It seemed like a good idea at the time. Besides, I showed you all on how to use them in case you need to!" Galen countered, blocking blaster fire before sprinting towards the droids and slashed several of them across the chest.
Just then several destroyer droids rolled from behind several containers, unfolded and began to open fire on the brave soldiers and students. March took a shot at one of the destroyers, but the shields on the droid absorbed his shot. "Damn, these ball guys are a lot tougher than I thought they would be!" the rabbit Faunus said before he was pulled down by a marine before a barrage of blaster bolts slammed into the wall behind him. "Thanks, last thing I wanted was to lose my head." he joked.
"Stay in cover! I'll short circuit their shields!" Galen instructed and shot out a blast of lightning from his free hand, short-circuiting the destroyer droids shield generators, allowing the clones to gun down the hostile droids while Artoria dashed in and used Caliburn to slash apart the remaining destroyer droids.
"Impressive technique, Mr. Marek. I can see why my cousin holds you in high regards." Artoria complimented, blocking blaster fire with her sword as if it were a lightsaber.
"Yeah, well your cousin, despite being reckless in battle from time to time, he's a good fighter. He'll make a good huntsman one of these days. Provided he gets over his fear." Galen admitted.
"I know." Artoria answered.
"Hey! The White Fang are bugging out through the back!" Rose shouted, bashing a droid with her shotgun before quickly drawing one of her sabers in revolver mode and fired a shot of lightning dust towards a droid.
"Don't worry about that. We've got that covered, lets just focus on the droids!" Galen shouted to his teammate, blasting away more battle droids with the force. He then watched Bacara move up, firing his blaster rifle at any droids in his way before a lucky shot from one of the droids on the catwalk destroyed his rifle.
"I'll scrap you clankers with my bare hands!" the clone marshal shouted and based a droid with his shoulder before using a series of hand-to-hand combat techniques, just like he did on New Bornalex only this time his opponents were standard B1's and not the more armored B2 super battle droids and without the prototype-strength enhancing armor they were given. A series of punches towards the torso of one droid allowed the commander to turn the droid around and use it as a shield while he procured the droids blaster, using it to gun down several droids before he attached a grenade to the back of the droid, kicked it towards several droids and took cover before the grenade detonated taking the droid it was attached to and those caught in the explosion with it.
Another trooper handed him a spare DC-15 which the commander took, just in time to see March on the catwalks, who seemed to be in one place one moment and another the next while the droids he was shooting at were soon scrapped. "That is one crazy kid." The commander commented. He was soon proven again when March used Galen's other lightsaber and slashed apart numerous droids.
Meanwhile, the White Fang forces had exited out of the back of the warehouse into a large loading dock once used by the railroad. "How the hell did those humans find us? Who are those guys in white? And why is the 'Wandering Huntsman' with them?" one of the newer White Fang recruits asked.
"I don't know and I don't give a damn! Those Atlesian knights we stole will keep them busy while we make our getaway." Another recruit said.
"A tactical retreat is the wise action. Let the humans savor their victory for now, it matters not. We'll destroy them long before…" Angelo began before a series of explosive shots rang out, causing the White Fang members to scatter while some of them were knocked off their feet. "What the hell!? Who did that?!" Angelo demanded. He soon had his answer.
Walking through the recently arrived fog, Arthur emerged with his gauntlet guns smoking from usage. "Shit! Boss that armor, it's of the Penwolf family!" one of the White Fang grunts shouted, almost in a panic.
"That's impossible. They were all wiped out years ago." another shouted.
"Obviously, one of them still lives." Angelo said with a smirk. "Finally, I've been looking for a good challenge."
"You have something that belongs to my family." Arthur said, referring to the plans for his family's legacy.
"Oh, would you be referring to these weapon plans our brothers in Atlas stole from the Schnee's? Sorry, but they belong to us now, race traitor." Angelo snarled.
"Give me the plans now, or be killed." Arthur said with venom in his voice.
"Something this valuable will not be handed over that easily." Angelo declared, putting the plans into his back pouch. "If you truly are a Penwolf, then you should have no problem defeating my comrades." He added. Knowing that Angelo was not someone who tolerated those who disobeyed his orders, the rest of the White Fang forces drew their swords and other weapons before charging towards Arthur.
Retracting the gun barrels of his gauntlets and with a quick change to his blades, Arthur readied himself for battle. "Disrespect my family one more time and you will regret it." Arthur stated, his helmets face mask snapping into position.
(Frontline starts)
Taking a running start, Arthur charged towards the White Fang members sent to challenge him. Blocking a sword swing with his left gauntlet, he gave the terrorist a swift slash across the chest, knocking them out before blocking a kick with his left arm. He then slashed two more White Fang soldiers across the chest, knocking them out as well.
Angelo watched impressively as Arthur continued to beat down the soldiers he was in charge of. "It seems this warrior is still very good after all. Finally, a fight that will be worth my time." he said to himself.
Catching the hands of a rifle wielding Faunus, Arthur disarmed the soldier before sweep kicking a pair of White Fang soldiers of their feet before slashing at one enemies' foot and then delivering a backhanded slash. He continued to make quick work of the White Fang forces before some of the gun wielding forces fired at him.
Thankfully, his aura protected him but even it didn't his armor was stronger than what most people had seen on Remnant. Retracting his gauntlet blades, he ran alongside the wall and fired his guns at the ranged warriors. This time, the rounds in his left gauntlet were explosive while the ones in his right gauntlet were lighting dust. The explosive rounds created a smokescreen before the lighting dust shocked the grunts into submission, save for one.
"Well, that was very impressive, traitor." The grunt said impressively.
"It was, now you know how serious I am." Arthur answered, turning around and activating his gauntlet blades. "The plans." He demanded once more.
"Never!" the grunt shouted and with a raise of his sword charged at Arthur.
"You are brave but foolish." Arthur said as the wind blew past him and the blade made contact with his armor. A quick activation of his blades soon aloud Arthur to beat the ever-living tar out of the Grunt who challenged him just as Galen, his cousin and the clones arrived.
"Damn, now that's what they call a Lone Wolf." Rose said impressively.
"That's my cousin." Artoria said proudly.
(End song)
Angelo had watched everything and was both impressed and angered that one person could defeat his men. Letting his anger get the better of him, the OX Faunus ran into the area before stopping as the clones aimed their blasters at him. "I applaud you." Angelo said.
"Angelo Blackfire. We meet again. I see you have traded in your family for the ideals and beliefs of Adam Taurus. Did our time practicing together mean nothing to you?" Arthur asked, disappointed.
"Oh, it did mean something." Angelo began. "All the practice told me that the way of the sword was meant to bring people to their knees. Such a way will help my fellow Faunus brothers and sisters finally take down the humans that have oppressed us for years." He added.
Arthur growled under his breath as Angelo continued. "Your skill is flawless, your power magnificent, you even managed to beat some of my elite soldiers. I'd say that you are worthy of dying by my blades." He said.
"You mind introducing us to your 'friend' here?" March asked.
"His name is Angelo Blackfire and we were once friends." Arthur answered. "Do you remember the last time we met?" Arthur asked.
"Oh, I remember it well. Two years ago, I had just joined the White Fang when I ran into you. You were traveling Anima's mountains, eliminating any Grimm you encountered when I found my old friend. I was full of myself and challenged you to a duel, only to be beaten and my weapons destroyed. But rather than a warriors death, you let me live. To this day, I wonder why I was spared. Now I know; I was spared so I could kill the last of the Penwolfs." He said, reminiscing the past.
"And since then, you have killed dozens of huntsmen and innocent humans in your foolish quest to become the 'superior' race of Remnant." Arthur said with disgust. "How many times have I told you that respect is earned and not given?" he asked.
"More than enough for it to give me a headache." Angelo replied before he took the plans from his pouch and tossed them to the ground. "If you want these plans so much, then we will fight for them. Warrior to warrior. A man of honor should allow me that much for a request?" he said and drew his Wakizashi.
"It seems that you have changed your sword style." Arthur noted, drawing Excalibur from its sheath. "Very well then, I shall take you up on your request."
"A duel to the finish." Angelo said before taking a combat stance, readying himself for battle.
"Agreed. To the finish." Arthur agreed, taking a combat stance of his own. The two of them waited for who would make the first move, as the first strike often determines the outcome of the match.
"Is he really going to duel this guy?" Bacara asked Artoria.
"Yes, and this is a fight we cannot interfere with. This is a fight between warriors." Artoria admitted.
"I got five hundred lien on Arthur kicking this guys ass." March said, getting a nasty glare from the others. "What? Arthur is one of the most badass swordsmen I know of. This guy, he's all talk so there is nothing to worry about."
"Begin!" Angelo shouted and charged towards his opponent as did Arthur. Both swords clashed against one another and both combatants seemed to be evenly matched. "This brings back memories of when the two of us used to practice together in Mantle under the watchful eye of your father. Then again, he always seemed to favor you more than me. After all, you were his son." Angelo said with a smirk.
"I seem to recall that my father favored neither one of us, or Artoria. He taught all of us the same skills that had been passed down for generations." Arthur spat. "He had no favorite, he taught us what we needed to learn if we were to become Huntsmen and Huntresses. It was a shame that you weren't accepted into the academy, all because of some bigoted human who refused to allow you into the school. Then the accident came."
"It was no accident, it was murder! My father was murdered by the foreman of the mine he worked at when he warned them about the unsafe mine shaft. But as usual, the humans didn't listen! Despite the warnings, the mine still collapsed and the foreman murdered my father in the collapse, claiming he killed himself. But I knew the truth, the foreman killed my father!" Angelo snapped.
"And then you decided to get revenge for your father's dead!" Arthur snapped, pushing Angelo back before twirling his sword around. "I remember when they found the Foreman's body covered in blood and you fled Mantle to join the White Fang. You are not the only who's lost their family!"
"Oh yes, your father and mother. I heard about their passing. It's a shame you weren't strong enough to save them. Some knight you turned out to be!" Angelo taunted.
Well, being reminded of his parents death caused Arthur to lower his guard and gave Angelo the opening he needed. A swift strike towards Arthur's armor reduced some of his aura and sent the Wolf-Faunus/Human hybrid back a few feet. "I've warned you before. Disrespect my family and I will make you regret it." Arthur snarled.
"So what? Your mother was a traitor when she married that human you called a father. Do you know how many of my kind he killed? Dozens of them. Your father wasn't a warrior he was a murderer just like you." Angelo continued to taunt his opponent, swinging his sword and keeping Arthur on the defense.
"My father was a noble and honorable warrior. He never killed the innocent." Arthur countered.
"Those were just lies your old man told you. He was a coldblooded killer, much like the one that roamed Anima years ago. Face its Arthur, you're destined to be like your old man and you will die!" Angelo roared, knocking Excalibur from Arthur's grip which landed some distance from the two. "And now, you'll die just like your old man. Don't worry, your sword will make an excellent trophy. I'll use it to kill the humans who have oppressed people like me for years. I think the first one shall be that Schnee girl at Beacon, but not after I have some fun with her." Angelo gloated.
"You'll never stop at one." Arthur said, struggling to get back up to his feet. "If you want her, you'll have to through me!" he said with determination.
"Hey, OX face!" Galen shouted. "Arthur is in control of his own destiny! He's proud of what he is and is more of a warrior than you will ever be. And another thing, his father is no murder he fought to protect the weak from people like you and humans who took advantage of your kind. Sure, the human who killed your father probably deserved what he got, but it wasn't for you to decide!" he roared.
"Well then, Mr. 'Wandering Huntsmen' maybe I'll start with you." Angelo said with a smirk, walking past a struggling Arthur. It was then that Galen tossed his lightsaber to Arthur who caught the weapon and ignited its bright blue blade. "It can't be. That's a… a…. a…" Angelo stuttered.
(Kenshin's Battle mode starts)
"A lightsaber." Arthur answered and gripped the weapon like it was his sword. "You loved those stories about the people who wield such a weapon and wanted to face someone with a weapon. Well, now's your chance." Arthur challenge.
"I'll KILL YOU!" Angelo shouted and charged towards Arthur raising his blade ready to take down Arthur. Much to his surprise, Arthur used a perfect Form II block the attack and once again began to clash weapons with his former friend. "You think just because you know how to use a fancy type of sword, means you're better than me? I was always the better…" Angelo ranted before he was pushed back after receiving a glancing blow from Arthur's borrowed weapon.
"Are you going to talk or you going to fight?" Arthur questioned. Angelo said nothing and continued to clash with Arthur, who kept blocking each and every attack sent towards him. "One shall stand, one shall fall." Arthur said as Angelo's next attack left him wide open, allowing for Arthur to slash his former friend across the chest. "It's over." Arthur said with a pant, deactivating the lightsaber.
(End song)
"Well… done…" Angelo said weakly as he fell to the ground, the life inside of him fading away. "You know, what I said about your father… it was all lies told to me by…. Adam Taurus." Angelo said weakly. "I always respected you… and your family… I know now what I did was wrong… and I can never be forgive for my crimes against the world."
"You fought well, my friend." Arthur said as Artoria picked up Excalibur and handed it to her cousin while Galen picked up the plans.
"Yeah, I guess I did, despite all that I said." Angelo said with a hearty laugh, which caused him a bit of pain. "Hey… Arthur, do me a favor… bring an end to the White Fang, bring an… end to those… who follow… Adam Taurus… and… take… down… Jacque… he… ordered… my… fathers… death." Angelo said before he closed his eyes for the last time.
"I will make Jacque answer for his crimes and give your father the justice he deserves." Arthur promised his fallen friend. He then handed Galen his lightsaber. "Thank you, for loaning me your weapon." He said.
"I wasn't going to let you die. We're teammates after all." Galen said. He then looked to Angelo. "We should at least give him a proper burial. He deserves that much."
"Yes, he does." Arthur said in agreement.
A few hours later, the police arrived and arrested all of the White Fang members that were knocked out during Arthur's fight. As for Angelo, he was given a proper burial, members of the true and former White Fang arrived in Vale at night and promised to take the OX Faunus to his final resting place. "Even if he was my enemy, I still considered him a brother. I will never forget you." Arthur said to Angelo one final time before the true White Fang left Vale. "Now that the Penwolf legacy is finally back to where it belongs, its time to find someone who can craft the upgrades for our weapons." Arthur said to his cousin.
"I think I know someone who would be more than willing to upgrade your weapons. She's always had a thing for weapons, so I've been told." Galen admitted before he turned to March and pulled his second lightsaber back to him.
"Aw, I was hoping I'd get to keep that." March pouted.
"I wouldn't trust you with this weapon even if I had no choice." Galen admitted.
Several days later, Arthur and Artoria waited outside the weapons forge in Beacon. Both of them could here the sounds of tools being used. For three days, Ruby used all of her free time to craft the upgrades for both Penwolf weapons. Like Galen said, Ruby nearly drooled when she was asked to craft the upgrades for the two Penwolfs and needless to say, she was up for the challenge which Galen offered to assist her with.
"They've been in there for a long time. I wonder if Ruby passed out from the challenge?" Artoria questioned.
"Knowing her, she probably is going overboard on the upgrades." Arthur answered. Just then the doors to the forge opened up and coming out of the room was both Ruby and Galen. In Galen's hands was Excalibur which he handed to Arthur while Ruby held Caliburn and handed it to Artoria.
"Upgrades, completed." Ruby proclaimed.
Both Penwolfs examined their weapons before Ruby began to explain what she did to upgrade the weapons. "Both of you are skilled with a sword, but you both lacked any ranged capabilities. So, we upgraded Caliburn to take the form of a bolt action rifle. It has a ten-round magazine, loaded by five stripper clips and can fire all the types of Dust ammo from fire to lightning. Rate of fire is fifteen-to-twenty-rounds per minute and can support a scope. The blade of your sword is also the bayonet." Ruby explained.
"As for Excalibur, we used of bit technology from one of the DC-15A's used by the clones and gave it a ranged mode as well. Instead of Dust rounds, Excalibur uses tibanna gas cartridges giving you five hundred shots before you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. Like Caliburn, the blade of the sword also forms a bayonet for close quarters combat. To replace the spent cartridge, you hit the button behind the pack, slid it out and put in a fresh pack." Galen explained.
Both cousins changed their weapons into their perspective ranged modes and aimed them. "These will most certainly do." Arthur said, impressed with the craftsmanship and work given to their weapons.
Both Galen and Ruby smiled. At long last, the Penwolfs had recovered what was theirs and had fully upgraded Excalibur to its full potential.
And done. Now, I am sure many of you thought I would be going onto the investigation that Team RWBY launched in regards to the White Fang, but that will come next chapter.
Now in regards to Excalibur's upgraded form. Basically, the ranged mode looks like the Retro Lancer from Gears of War with the mix of the DC-15A and its capacity of five-hundred shots. As for Caliburn, its ranged form is that of the Lee-Enfield SMLE bolt action rifle, used by the British armed forces, its colonies and even the US during both World Wars. Rate of fire and cartridge capacity are the same while the Bayonet is Caliburns Blade.
Originally, I was going to give Excalibur a form much like the Magna Blaster/Bull Riot from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and Bull Riot from Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, but decided at the last minute to use the DC-15A.
Now, the new volume of RWBY has aired and I am hoping that the series isn't canceled before they can finish it. I swear, Rooster Teeth needs to get their act together before they go belly up.
Anyway, please read and review. I will see you all next time and remember to stay safe in these troubling times.
