And I am back with my next chapter of Remnant Unleashed. Before I begin, I want to ask how many of you heard about what happened in the US Capital on the seventh of this mouth? I don't understand it, back with the Black Lives Matter protest several months ago didn't result in rioting, but then the Commander in Chief of the nation that many of us and myself call home lost the election and is trying so damn hard to stay in power, claiming that most the of the election results were fraud and all that shit. And did I forget to mention that many people who stormed the Capitol were possibly armed with weapons like an assault rifle, pipe bombs and such.
Now I'm not a political person, but that guy needs to get off his ass and realize the facts. He lost because people voted for Biden! Don't be a sore loser and try to attempt a coup d'état. With the whole Covid-19 crap still going on, with someone having destroyed some of the vaccine from what I've heard you'd think so people would have the common sense to just accept their defeat with humility.
Anyway, back to the story. Last time, Ruby, Galen and company met with the Rebellion, discovered that the Empire was doing some kind of weapons construction on Geonosis and brought Commander Cody, Delta Squad, Climber, Trace, Darman and Niner into the battle against the Empire while Maul returned to Salem with something that he believes will help Salem achieve her objective regarding Vale. The details of said plan will be revealed at a later date, but for now Galen and the others don't know about it.
Onto reviews.
Monster King: Thank you, from my last chapter and the one before.
Jack Smith 1: Trust me, there will be plenty more Imperial defectors joining the Rebellion and they will get over their hatred of clones. Thanks for those kind words.
54godamora: I'm not going to kill of the members of Team RWBY, why would you even think… oh right, its war. Well, I'm still not going to kill those girls off.
CILinkz: Really? After two chapters, you're just going to stop reading. Look, I write stories my way and you should keep reading the story. Besides, there's a lot you've had yet to read.
Quicksilver: There is a lot more to March, you are right about that. There's a reason he acts crazy in battle, but at least it's not Joker crazy. Yes, his helmet is accommodated for his Faunus ears, but keep in mind that since he is in another galaxy, many people won't know what a Faunus is. But don't worry, the reason he acts the way he does will be revealed in time.
Galen Marek: Trust me, Galen may be staying in the light for right now, but when something happens to someone he cares about, he will become a demon.
Alright, Reviews are done, let's get this chapter started. Disclaimers are the same as before, please enjoy and before I forget, I put the poll about the craft that Galen should fly up on my profile.
Chapter 26: Twin Suns
"Well, I must say, this is quite an exceptional vessel these Separatists constructed." Watts said, looking at the holographic projection of vessel in question. Said vessel was almost five-thousand meters in length, had a large tower behind the area where its sixteen engines were located and an area that looked like an open mouth of a monster. In terms of firepower, the vessel had more firepower than the Atlesian capital ships, some of which were stationed over Vale. "If this ship is truly as powerful as you say, then why was it never put into production?"
"Because, Doctor. The Separatists believed that with its powerful cannon, they wouldn't need to build others like it. They were wrong and only two more of vessel was built. Both were destroyed and from what I gathered; the ones being produced were scrapped half-way through construction." Maul answered. "Thankfully for us, we have the advantage." He added, pressing some buttons on his gauntlet and the projection of the ship was replaced with several ships of the same type being constructed just behind Salem's castle hidden deep underground. "That fool Dooku sent these prototypes out into the unknown regions so they would avoid being captured by the Republic. He never would have dreamed that these ships would be used by the remains of the droid army." He added.
"Oh, I can't wait to hear all the screams of the people killed by such a wonderful weapon." Tyrian said gleefully, rubbing his new prosthetic hands together at the thought of the weapons being used. "Though it won't be the same as doing the deed personally, I can't wait to…" he began before Maul cut him off.
"People will die when these weapons are completed. But we need only one for the next part of the plan." Maul stated, getting a confused look from everyone but Salem. "First, we must see to young Cinder's training in the art of Lightsaber combat. I have sensed a strong connection to the force from her and it would be wise for us to teach her how to control those powers." He went on, before he turned to Watts. "Doctor, how long will it take you to finish the work on one of these ships?" he asked.
"Well, with the information and schematics you brought us about less than a week. Once all the systems are all checked out, why?" Watts answered.
"Once it is completed, we will need to 'allow' the Kingdoms to discover this weapon. Once they discover it, they will mobilize their forces in an effort to destroy it. They will win, no doubt, but it will be a small victory." Maul replied, looking to a holographic projection of the CCTS tower.
"Why go through all the trouble of building such a weapon if only to have it destroyed by your enemies? It makes no sense." Watts voiced.
"Because, good doctor. All warfare is based on deception." Maul began before he continued to explain his plan to his allies.
On the other side of the galaxy, the Rogue Shadow and Marauder landed at the rebel base along with several captured imperial shuttles whose occupants decided to up and join the rebellion. Many of the former imperial slaves were in need of medical attention and were taken to the medical center, despite the objections of Captain Sutherland, a man in his mid-thirties from Coruscant with brown hair who much like Halberton was an imperial defector. Unlike Halberton, Sutherland was a man who sacrificed his men while he retreated, launched full frontal assaults on heavily fortified enemy positions and would even go as far as to attack imperial targets in civilian populated areas where as Halberton targeted imperial targets away from civilian populated areas and fought alongside his men from the front.
To Rex, it was like looking at the second coming of Krell and deep down, he didn't trust the Captain especially when he called Ahsoka 'a coward who ran away' which made Rex want to sucker punch the captain, but he refrained from so. "I don't like him either, Rex, something about him doesn't sit right with me." Cody said to his brother.
While Rex and his brother looked at the captain with concern, Galen and the others presented the data that they had recovered from Geonosis. "This is certainly quite troubling. It appears that the Empire is constructing chemical weapons. To think that the Emperor would go so far as to construct weapons like this all to spread a message to both us and the people of the galaxy." Bail said with concern.
"What do you expect from a man like Palpatine? He wants to keep his power and will do anything to keep it, even killing his own people who have nothing to do with the Rebellion." Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila voiced with disgust.
"Unfortunately, the location of the attack and what chemical weapon they are using was deleted before we even arrived at the factory. It seems they were planning on covering their tracks long before we even set foot on the planet." Arthur reported. "We only got lucky because they weren't expecting us."
"Even if they were expecting us, its clear that they were doing everything they can to keep this plan of theirs a secret. Our intelligence network is working around the clock to find out the target the Empire is going to attack." Kota stated putting a hand to his chin.
"A leader who's willing to kill his own people just to send a message to the masses is no leader, but a murderer. Even if he consolidated all the power from the senate and military, the people will demand answers as to why their leader would launch such an attack and kill thousands or even millions of their people." Ironwood said with a clenched fist.
"Imperial propaganda would call this a terrorist attack done by the Rebellion. Those who would have seen the attack would be dead and the dead can't tell the truth. The Emperor also has complete control of the senate so even if we were able to tell the truth, he would deny it!" Kota shouted.
"Then it is imperative that we find where the weapon is being built, what the weapon is and destroy it before the Emperor can enact his plan." Ozpin said in a calm manner.
"Hmm, if I were a man with the entire galaxy in the palm of my hand and want to build a deadly weapon, I'd probably do it in the last place anyone would look." Ruby voiced, getting everyone to look at her. "What? If its such a secret, the normal military wouldn't be told about it, so it's got to be hidden somewhere." She said.
"She's got a point. If it's a chemical weapon, its probably being built in a secret location so until we figure out its location, we can't do anything about it right now." Galen agreed. Just then a coded message from one of the many spies the rebellion had out in the galaxy. The message indicated that the Empire had sent a company of Imperial soldiers were on Tatooine for some unknown purpose. The message was then cut off unexpectedly. "Looks like we're going to Tatooine." Galen mused.
"Get there immediately and find out what the Empire is up too. Make sure you're resupplied before you go and be careful, Tatooine is under the control of Jabba the Hutt and while he may be allied with us, its imperative that we do not need to be on his bad side." Kota reminded.
"Jabba the Hutt?" Weiss asked.
"He's a crime lord and not someone you want to meet." Kota answered.
"So, he's basically a more deadly version of Roman Torchwick. Just great, I thought we left that maniac back on Remnant and locked away on Ironwoods ship." March groaned as he and the others left the room.
"I probably should go with them. We may need to talk to Jabba directly and since I helped rescue his son all those years ago, he might be willing to help us." Ahsoka said, following after the two teams.
As the two teams exited the command room and headed for the armory, a GR-75 medium transport landed and to their surprise, rolling out of the transport where the Daggers, Longsword, Strike Dagger and Scimitar of the Galm Team, Mobius 1 and Trigger along with Neo. "Damn, I didn't think I'd ever be so happy to be back on solid ground." Rick said.
"Trigger!" Galen called out when he saw the pilot. "What the hell are you doing here?" he asked while the others headed for the armory.
"Your friend Kota sent for us. He said for us to bring our fighters for upgrades, something about modifying them for increased combat effectiveness." He replied, glancing at the various aliens that were among the rebellion's ranks. "Wow, lots of species. One would think they're…." he began when a Wookie walked over to them. "Uh, hi there, big guy." He said nervously.
"He's looking at you funny." Neo said before she and Rick were pulled into a bear hug by the Wookie. "Ugh! Can't… breathe!" she gasped before the Wookie released the both of them and spoke in its native language. "Uh, could someone translate for us." She asked.
"Oh! I'd be happy to translate for you young lady." A robotic voice said as walking over to them was a gold-plated humanoid robot of about 1.67 meters in height. Following the robot was another smaller dome shaped about almost a meter tall with three 'legs' one of which was smaller, but all three had a set of wheels. This machine was colored silver and blue with a red eye. The blue and silver machine beeped as if it was asking a question to its counterpart who smacked the smaller one on the head. "Hush now, Artoo. This young lady asked for a translator and I am fulling my programming." The Gold robot said. "Forgive him, he doesn't know his manners. Anyway, I am C-3PO, human-cyborg relations. I am a protocol droid fluent in over six-million forms of communication including…" 3PO began.
"Just tell us what the big guy said to us." Rick asked, not wanting a full explanation of C-3PO's fluent languages.
"Oh, of course." 3PO replied and asked the Wookie what he said to Rick and Neo. "He says his name is Ros and he is very happy to make the acquaintance of two new warriors in the fight against the Empire. He is also very eager to learn all about Remnant and its technology and hopes that the three of you can become great comrades." C-3PO said.
"Well Ros, I think we'll get along just fine. Just please go easy on the bear hugs, I think you might break my back with one of them." Rick said jokingly. Ros growled and roared happily as the five Remnant fighters were brought into the hanger for their modifications. Out of the corner of his eye, Rick caught a glimpse of Sutherland who looked at him and Neo with gritted teeth. "Hey, uh… blue and silver droid." He said to Artoo who beeped in annoyance. "No idea what you're saying. Just do me a favor, keep an eye on the brown-haired guy over there. I don't want him sabotaging our planes." Artoo beeped in agreement and while Rick couldn't understand him, he had a feeling that he could trust the droid.
"Making enemies already?" Cipher joked.
"Somethings off about that guy. I sensed something coming from him, I think he's up too something." Rick answered.
"Yeah, I sensed it too." Neo agreed. "I might not have met the guy, but there's something off about him, like he's got some kind of ulterior motive. Reminds me of someone, but I can't remember their name." she added. Rick put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Ever since she remembered who she was, Neo's memories about what she did with Torchwick and who he was working for had become a blank. It was like someone had planned for the event that if Neo got her memories back, she wouldn't be able to reveal the name of the person that Roman was working with.
"You two are not the only ones who don't trust Sutherland." Halberton said as he walked over to the five pilots and Galen. "Like myself, Sutherland is an imperial defector, but compared to other military leaders of the Rebellion, he see's the number of lives lost in battle as figures on paper and prefers to lead the forces he's commanding from behind or on the bridge of a ship. He also doesn't hold a very high regard in terms of other species or the Jedi." he added.
"Let's just hope that it doesn't come to bite us in the ass." Dante said with disgust. Sutherland reminded him a lot of his old squad and base commander.
A couple hours later after getting resupplied, the Rogue Shadow dropped out of hyperspace over the desert planet Tatooine, known to everyone in the galaxy as a cesspool for criminal activity, which also included the Hutt clan. "That's… a lot of sand." Rose said in surprise. "Probably more than Vacuo has." She added.
"Two suns make it a lot hotter than volcanic planets like Eos, Sullust or Mustafar. Though that's only because of the volcanos, but for those who live here, there's not a whole lot of land for settlements and space ports." Ahsoka stated, remembering what Anakin told her about the planet.
"I'm detecting imperial communications from somewhere on the planet. Heavily encrypted and hard to pinpoint. I'm afraid we'll have to meet with our spy before we begin our search." Proxy reported.
"So, then we just beat the crap out of any thugs we come across? Sounds like a plan to me." March said with enthusiasm, only to get a smack in the back of the head by Yang. "Ow! That hurt." He moaned.
"Didn't you hear what Kota said?! We're to not cause trouble, unless you want to meet this Jabba the Hutt and get eaten by whatever he has for a pet." Yang reminded.
"Why are you always so crazy in battle? Compared to Ruby, you're reckless and unpredictable in battle. You'll get killed one of these days, by either the Grimm, White Fang, Droids or the Empire." Weiss spat.
March stood for silent for a moment before he finally answered Weiss's question. "You want to know why I'm so crazy in battle? It's to help me cope with the what happened years ago. My village was destroyed by the Grimm when I was a child, my parents and friends were all killed and every time I go into battle, I go crazy cause I want to kill as many Grimm as I can so I can prevent what happened to my village from happening again."
Everyone was silent for a few moments before Arthur spoke up. "I get that you are trying to cope with the fact your village was wiped out by the Grimm, but if you keep acting the way you are right now, you'll only ended up getting yourself killed. If you are trying to find a place to die, then you're only making those you care about roll in their grave. Live for them and their memory." Arthur said sympathetically.
"You say that, but I'm probably the one who alerted the Empire to our presence on bug world. We would have gotten all of the information about what ever those bucket heads are planning and would have stopped them by now." March stated, hanging his head down in shame.
"Maybe, I but I think the Empire probably was already in the process of leaving Geonosis before we even set foot on that planet. Maybe it was because of those civilians transports that were shot down over the planet. I mean, if one of them picked up some kind of message about the Empire's plan, they would probably give that information to someone who would try to sell it to the highest bidder or give it to the rebellion, if their conscience gets to them." Galen said.
That made March feel a little better. "Well, maybe I could do better and asked you guys for help. Last thing I want is for me to lose my own head." March said with a joking laugh. The others didn't laugh. "Got it, not the time for a joke." He sighed.
"Alright then. Proxy, find us a place to land away from the Hutt's. Let's try Mos Eisley, it's a good as a place to start looking." Ahsoka said to the droid, who nodded and headed for said spaceport. Landing the Rogue Shadow in one of the available docking pays was out of the question since people would be asking questions as to why the ship would be landing without clearance, so the group landed in the Dune Sea, just a few miles away from the town. "Galen and I will head into town and see if anyone knows anything about the Empire's presence on Tatooine. The rest of you, stay here and keep your eyes out for anything out of the ordinary on the scanners. Proxy will assist you in translating Aurebesh into basic, since none of you know how to read Aurebesh." Ahsoka said, getting on the Flare S-swoop bike they loaded into the Rouge Shadow before leaving Dantooine while Galen powered up the Shark and configured the buggy into its repulsor mode too avoid suspicion.
Ruby then hopped into the Sharks passenger seat, claiming that she wanted to see what this planet was like compared to Dantooine and Geonosis. She didn't say it, but something was telling her that she needed to be with Galen and Ahsoka for this trip into town. Both Jedi didn't argue, but told Ruby not to wander off or draw any unnecessary attention to them, incase there were imperial spies among the population.
Meanwhile, in the southwestern part of the Dune Sea, outside the Jundland Wastes in a Synstone made hut with a small kitchen, living room and a bathroom, an old man in his mid-fifties with white hair, blueish-gray eyes, fair skin and wearing a set of ragged brown robes which covered his tan tunic and boots had just returned from trading with several Jawa's when he felt something calling to him. "She's alive, after all this time. Perhaps now is the time for me to apologize for failing her, yet she's not alone. Could this be what I sensed months ago?" The old man said to himself before he began to off load the supplies from his Dewback, glancing in towards the north, noticing an impending Sandstorm was approaching.
Back with Galen, Ruby and Ahsoka, the three of them had arrived in Mos Eisley and kept their vehicles parked right outside the Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina before they headed into the Cantina. "Mind if I ask why we're checking out a bar? Wouldn't it make more sense to ask people around town if they've seen our you know?" Ruby asked.
"Master Plo told me that when people drink a lot, they tend to spill things they've overheard. Its how we learned about a murder that occurred during the war, murder that was committed by someone I hope you never have to meet." Ahsoka answered, pulling her poncho's hood over her head to avoid being seen by anyone. "Stay close to Galen, you might be a Huntress in training, but a bar is not the kind of place you'd want to be in." she said to the young huntress who nodded and pulled her capes hood over her head.
When they entered the Cantina, Ruby was amazed to see people of various species sitting at tables or the bar, drinking, gambling or otherwise just talking with those they knew while a band of four bald large headed, lidless eyed looking aliens played music. "Uncle Qrow would probably love this place." She said to herself, sticking close to Galen.
All three of them made their way towards the bar and took a seat. "Sorry, I don't serve kids." The bartender, a human man with brown hair, brown eyes and light skin said to Ruby.
"She's with us, so give us whatever non-alcoholic drink you got for the three of us." Galen said, tossing several credits towards the bartender who returned later with three cups of blue milk for them. "We're also looking for someone. You haven't seen anyone from off planet lately, have you?" Galen asked.
"You going to have to be more specific about the person you're looking for. Lot of off-worlders have been around lately so unless you tell me what they look like, I can't help you." The Bartender said.
"Please, you've got to at least know something, this is a matter of life or death! The Empire is…." Ruby began before she stopped herself mid-sentence the moment, she spotted an imperial officer taking a seat next to her. "Uh, never mind." She said before finishing her own drink.
"No, what were you going to say young lady?" the officer asked, before Galen used a Jedi Mind Trick on the Officer to make him forget what he asked Ruby about. Having forgotten what, they were going to say, the Officer handed the bartender a wanted poster for a Weequay pirate. Once the officer left, Galen took the wanted poster, giving off the impression that he was a bounty hunter before the trio left the cantina.
"Well, it seems that Hondo hasn't changed one bit in the years since the Republic fell." Ahsoka said, not surprised in the least.
"Hondo?" Ruby asked.
"Hondo Ohnaka. A pirate that operated off of Florrum. He made a living by dealing spice and receiving ransoms through kidnapping and extortion. He's motivated by profit, but he does have a sense of horror, something that's quite rare for a pirate. He also has a bit of a taste for antiques." Ahsoka explained, remembering the encounters she, her master and Obi-Wan had with the pirate captain, specifically when she was almost sold after the pirate failed to acquire lightsaber crystals that he planned to sell on the black market.
"So, what do we do?" Ruby asked.
Before Ahsoka could answer, she sensed a presence that she hadn't felt in years. "There's something we need to check out. Its in the Jundland Wastes so we can worry about Hondo later." Ahsoka stated, getting on her swoop bike, much to the confusion of Ruby and Galen. "Come on, lets go before that Officer starts to look into us." She added. That was enough for Ruby and Galen to get into the Shark and left the spaceport. Neither of them noticed that someone had overheard their conversation and was heading back to tell their boss.
It wasn't long before the trio made their way into the Jundland Wastes just as the sandstorm hit. It was difficult for them to keep an eye on where they were going and it wasn't long until they couldn't even see two feet ahead of them, especially with the Shark's headlights. "I don't think this is such a good idea!" Ruby called to Galen over the roaring storm.
"What was your first clue?" Galen asked the young huntress while trying to keep his eyes on Ahsoka's bike. "Ahsoka, are you sure this is a good idea? What are we even looking for?" he said into the commlink. Ahsoka didn't say anything and kept on driving. "Ahsoka, did you hear me?"
"What is she so focused about?" Ruby asked puzzled. Galen didn't have the answer before they exited the sandstorm and found themselves in a rocky canyon, miles away from the ship and spaceport. "Great, we're now lost!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Ahsoka, who or what are we looking for? The mission takes priority, lives are at stake and you know it. What's got you so worked up that we deviate from the mission and go into the middle of a sandstorm?" Galen demanded.
"That's why." Ahsoka answered, pointing to a hut not far from their location. "He's there, I know it." She said to herself.
"Well, we're not going back through that sandstorm. The sand's jammed up the repulsors on the Shark so it's going to be a while before we get them up and running." Ruby stated as she tried to switch the Shark to its hover mode, only to get an error on the screen indicating a problem, especially with the boosters. "Hope whoever's living in there has something to fix this thing." Ruby muttered.
Galen agreed as did Ahsoka and by the time they reached the hut the owner of the hut was outside as if they knew they were coming. "I hope you don't mind, but I was hoping you could help us. Our vehicles are a bit beaten up from the sandstorm and we would appreciate it if you could help us with the repairs." Ruby asked the owner.
"I'm afraid I don't know much about speeders, but I might have the tools you need to repair your vehicles, but it would be best that you cover them. The storm is coming back and it could last for days, so you are more then welcome to stay until the storm passes." The stranger said, before he noticed Ahsoka. "I had a feeling that you would be here. It's good to see you alive and well, Ahsoka."
"The same too you, Obi-Wan." Ahsoka answered, shocking Galen and Ruby.
Removing his hold, Obi-Wan Kenobi smiled before he led the trio inside, after Galen and Ruby covered their vehicles. Once inside, Obi-Wan offered the three to take a seat. "It warms my heart to know that you are alive, Ahsoka. When the Empire came into power, I feared that you were killed like so many others. But to see you alive and still the same age as you were when you left the Order, it raises many questions." Obi-Wan said.
"It's a long story, Master." Ahsoka replied and told him everything about what happened after she left the order, Fordo's actions in trying to prevent Order 66, the number of troopers that survived, Remnant, the Grimm, the return of the Droid army and why they were helping the rebellion, even mentioning that Cody was alive and not working for the Empire. "So, that's why we're here. The Empire is planning a chemical weapons attack on a planet, but we have no idea what the weapon is, what the target is or if there's another factory."
"I wish I could help you, Ahsoka, but I'm afraid I don't know what the Empire is doing on Tatooine either. And before you ask me about helping the rebellion, I can't do that. I'm needed here." Obi-Wan answered.
"So, you're just going to hide out here and live out your days in this place?" Galen asked.
"That is not why I am here." Obi-Wan clarified. "I'm needed here because I have someone I need to look after and protect from harm. I made a promise to an old friend that I would protect that person and I intend to do so, until the time is right." He explained before he turned to Ruby who was looking at the object, she found on Geonosis. "I'd never thought I would see that again." He said, surprised.
"Oh! Is this yours? Sorry, I didn't…" Ruby began before Obi-Wan told her to keep it. "So, uh is this a lightsaber?" she asked.
"Yes. It's the one I built after I lost my original one years ago. You, Ruby Rose are meant to have it. I already have my own." He said before he turned to Galen. "I never thought that Kento and Mallie would have a son, but then again you, Galen look a lot like your father in his younger days. I sensed his passing through the force and was saddened at losing a friend. He was a good man." He said sympathetically.
"Did you ever meet a girl named Sienna Khan?" Galen asked, changing the subject.
"Sienna Khan?" Obi-Wan questioned. "Oh, yes. I remember her. Is she still alive?" he asked.
"She is, she's also leading the White Fang and doesn't condone the methods being down by her fellow White Fang members, especially in regards to their war against the kingdoms. She also never forgot what you did for her and owed you her life and its because of you that she views humans differently than before." Galen answered.
"I see." Obi-Wan said. "It's getting very late, why don't you all get some rest. We can talk again in the morning. Oh, and Ahsoka, I'd like to talk to you in private."
"Alright, well time for bed." Ruby said with a yawn and quickly fell asleep. Galen picked up a blanket and put it over her before he too fell asleep. As the two fell asleep, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka had a much-needed talk about what happened eighteen years ago.
"Ahsoka, I very sorry about what happened to you all those years ago. I never wanted to turn you over to the senate for a trail that I know was nothing more than a ruse. I never once thought you were guilty of bombing the Jedi Temple. I should have done more to defend you, like what Anakin did. I wanted to stand by you, but much of the council was convinced that you had fallen to the dark side. I failed you then and I understand if you do not trust me, but I all I am asking is if you can forgive me." He spoke.
"I already forgave Masters Plo and Kit a long time ago, so I can forgive you Obi-Wan. You knew I was innocent, but after what happened, I couldn't stay. Maybe I should have stayed and then maybe Anakin would still be with us." Ahsoka admitted.
"You would have been killed too if you had stayed." Obi-Wan reminded her. "He would be proud of you as I am. You forged your own path and are still alive, despite all of Anakin's other methods of teaching, you have become quite the Jedi even without a master." Obi-Wan replied. "But onto another matter. You've sensed it to, about young Ruby, haven't you?" he asked.
The sandstorm continued to rage as night came down fast as those aboard the Rogue Shadow became increasingly worried about Ruby, Galen and Ahsoka who had yet to report in. Yang was about to go out and look for her sister, but Weiss was quick to stop her. "If you go out there, you'll only get lost in the storm as well, Yang. We just have to have faith that Ruby, Galen and Ahsoka will be fine." Weiss told the blonde-brawler.
"You think I don't know that? Ruby's only fifteen and who knows what could have happened out there! What if she was taken by slavers and sold off? What if she was killed? I'll never forgive myself if she gets hurt or worse!" she shouted, only to get a slap across the face by Rose. "Thanks, I needed that." Yang said, rubbing her bruised cheek.
"That storm's thicker than pea soup and if we get lost in that storm, those Jawa critters will probably strip the Rogue Shadow for parts, thinking it's been abandoned. I'd rather not have Galen get pissed about us loosing his ship. Like Weiss said, all we can do is wait, but that doesn't mean we can't track their commlink positions, right, Proxy?" Rose asked.
"Unfortunately, Master's commlink is out of range and the storm is making it difficult for us to track its location. Until the storm lifts, we can't track his location." The droid replied.
"Forget about tracking their location." March said from the communications array. "You might want to listen to this. I was tinkering around with the communications system, trying to see if I could pick up signals from Remnant and I think I might have hit the jackpot." The Rabbit Faunus said, playing what he recorded.
"The test was successful…. they will not…. expect us to target the planet…. the factory on Dath… is operating at peak…. the rebels will fail and thanks to…. they have no idea we are…." The message said as March tried to adjust the frequency to get the full message.
"Damn it to hell!" March cursed, slamming his fist down on the console. "So, what do we do now?" March asked.
"We wait for Galen, Ruby and Ahsoka to return. Hopefully, they'll return with some information that can help us piece together what the Empire is planning." Arthur answered. The others agreed and decided it was best to get some sleep.
Morning came sooner than expected and when Ruby awoke, she found that she was resting her head on Galen's lap, making her face blush redder than her cape. Galen woke up, stretching his arms as Ruby tried to come up with excuse as to why she was resting her head on Galen's lap. "You don't need to try and make up an excuse. I don't care that you were using my lap as a pillow." Galen said.
"Oh… uh… I, um…" Ruby stammered.
"Come on, lets get to fixing up our rides. Let's not take up anymore of Obi-Wans time." Galen insisted and headed outside where Ahsoka was working on her bike. Galen grabbed a few tools and began to work on the Shark, leaving Ruby alone to contemplate her feelings.
"You appear to be confused, young Ruby." Obi-Wan said from behind.
"I don't…" Ruby began before Obi-Wan interrupted her.
"Perhaps you could use something to keep your mind occupied. Come with me to the cellar." Obi-Wan told the young girl who followed him to the cellar of his home. "Now then, I've been told by Ahsoka that you are very interested in weapons. I must admit that having an interest in such tools is rather surprising for someone as young as you. That weapon you have with you, the one you found it is a lightsaber." He explained.
"A lightsaber!?" Ruby asked excitedly. "A what's a lightsaber anyway?" Ruby asked.
"It is the weapon of the Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. More skill than simple sight is required for its use. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age and a symbol as well. Anyone can use a blaster or fusion cutter but to use a lightsaber it meant that someone was a mark of someone a cut above the ordinary." Obi-Wan explained. "If you are to hold your own against those with a lightsaber, you need to learn how to use the weapon properly. I will give you some pointers on using such a weapon, but the rest of your teachings I have a feeling that Galen will be teaching you." He added.
Ruby smiled and readied herself for her first lesson in lightsaber combat.
Hours passed and by the time that Ruby had finished her lessons, Galen and Ahsoka had also finished their work on the Shark and bike when Obi-Wan and Ruby exited the hut. "I'm sorry you came all this way for nothing." Obi-Wan began.
"It's alright, I had a feeling that you wouldn't want to leave." Galen stated.
"However, I can point you in the right direction. Return to Mos Eisley, I believe that a certain wanted pirate might be able to help you. Seek out Hondo Ohnaka, he might be able to help you if you can fit his price range." Obi-Wan added. "Take care and may the Force be with you all."
"The same with you, Master Kenobi." Ahsoka said before she powered up her speeder with Galen doing the same thing with the Shark and headed back to Mos Eisley. Ruby took one last glance at Obi-Wan before waving good-bye to the old Jedi Master.
"That girl is certainly strong. Had she been born in the Republic, she would have made a great Jedi Knight, if the Republic wasn't destroyed." Obi-Wan said to himself before he headed back inside his hut. "Ahsoka, when you confront Vader, you must be ready to except the truth about who he is, it is the only way for you to survive."
As the trio headed back to Mos Eisley, Ruby asked how they were going to find Hondo. If he was wanted, then it wouldn't be easy to find someone who didn't want to be found. Before Galen could answer, multiple Starhawk speeder bikes emerged from several dunes and surrounded the trio. "Too many for us to fight." Ahsoka said.
"Who are they?" Ruby asked.
"My best guess, pirates." Galen answered before he saw a rare Corona-class armed frigate flying overhead before it landed several kilometers in front of them, forcing them to stop. The speeder bikes then began to circle around the trio as Galen and Ahsoka brought out their lightsabers while Ruby readied her blaster pistols. "Get ready for anything, these guys could be looking for an easy score." Galen said, getting in front of Ruby.
To their surprise, the pirates didn't attack and as the speeder bikes powered down, the boarding ramp of the frigate opened up and stepping out of the ship was an older Hondo Ohnaka. "Ahsoka Tano. I can't believe what I'm seeing, you're still alive! I knew you were still alive, I bet you didn't expect to see your old friend Hondo again."
"We were never friends, Hondo." Ahsoka snarled, keeping her lightsabers in her grip.
"We were never friends?! Oh, you hurt me. Too think you still hold a grudge against me after I held you captive, but you know me, I'm motivated by profit and I…" Hondo began before he spotted Ruby. "You there, girl, come here for a moment."
"What do you want with Ruby?" Galen demanded, ready to take Hondo's head off.
"Now, now, boy. I'm not trying to kidnap her or anything. I just want to look at her." Hondo explained. Reluctantly, Ruby went over to Hondo, allowing the pirate to get a good look at her. "Silver eyes. The last time I saw someone with silver eyes was… well it was a long time ago. Tell me young girl, what is your name?" Hondo asked.
"Ruby Rose." Ruby answered.
"Well then, Ruby Rose. I just want to know one thing." Hondo said, looking into Ruby's eyes for a few seconds before Hondo asked his question. "Did you combine a regular blaster rifle and sniper rifle together to make that remarkable weapon? If so, you are a little genius!" Hondo said with a laugh, catching Ruby and Galen off guard, even Ahsoka. Hondo then ordered his men to lower their weapons before he stopped laughing. "So then, boy. What is your name?" he asked Galen.
"Galen. Galen Marek and we don't have time for you and Ahsoka to catch up. We've got a mission to focus on." Galen stated bluntly, not trusting Hondo one bit before he deactivated his lightsabers and headed back to the Shark.
"This mission wouldn't happen to involve an Imperial weapons test wouldn't it?" Hondo asked, getting a surprised glance from Galen. "Trust me boy, my men and I have been well aware of the Empire's impending attack on a peaceful world. I may be a pirate, but I don't condone such actions against civilians, there is no honor in such an action." Hondo said.
"Why would you care?" Galen demanded.
"Whatever planet the Empire is targeting, it will mean the death of a lot of children. I don't want children getting involved, especially after what I did for that girl, what was her name? Oh yes, Katooni." Hondo said. The last part caught Ahsoka by surprise, considering she assumed Katooni was dead. "Oh, don't give me that look Ahsoka, she and that Wookie, Gungi I think his name is, they are still alive. Don't know where, but I assume they are alive and well."
"You saved them, didn't you?" Ahsoka questioned.
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But I can assure you that they are alive." Hondo answered. "Now onto the Empire. I've heard that they are testing out a new weapon at the old Mos Espa Circuit race course. The old circuit hasn't been used in years since the Empire put a ban on podracing several years ago, but recently the Empire has been stationing troops there and a small company of men and if someone where to take it out, that would mean plenty of loot for us to sell to the highest bidder." He added.
"So, it's a matter of money?" Ruby asked.
"You are a smart girl, Ruby. Yes, it is about money. Seems I ow a debt to Jabba that I know I paid off and now he and the Empire are after me. The Empire, I can understand since I attacked one of their cruisers a few months back, but Jabba? Well, I was supposed to pay a debt to Jabba after a misunderstanding with one of his associates, a bounty hunter, I think. So, I purpose a deal, I give you the location of the Imperial activity and I get the whatever is left behind, equipment and such. I will sell what I find to the rebellion, pay off my debt to Jabba and help out a Jedi at the same time. You get what you need and I get what I want. It's a win-win for all of us." Hondo explained.
"Why do I feel like there is more to this deal then you've already told us?" Ahsoka inquired.
"Well, I'm sure Jabba might have some extra information that you might find worth the price, if a certain former Jedi was able to… well maybe posse as a slave and entertain him?" Hondo offered, only to get a glare from Ahsoka. "So, that's a no then?" Hondo inquired.
"Looks that way to me." Galen remarked.
"Well then… about the Empire's…" Hondo began to say before the Rouge Shadow arrived and landed, with Yang rushing out of the ship and hugging her sister. "Well, this makes it so much easier now. All your allies here. Now I won't have to repeat myself." Hondo said with a smirk.
"Ruby, who is this?" Yang asked her younger half-sister.
"Someone who's going to help us and he's a pirate captain if you can believe it." Ruby answered, getting shocked reactions from the others. "Alright then, Hondo, you've got yourself a deal now tell us where the Empire has their base." Ruby asked the pirate captain who smiled.
A few hours later, Galen, his team, Team RWBY and Ahsoka had found a group of imperial soldiers at the remains of a Tusken Raider village, inspecting the effects of the weapon they had built and much to the surprise and horror of the two Jedi found it was Trihexalon, also known as dragon's breath. A weapon so deadly that it could be refined to target specific species or used for planetary bombardments. "So, their using Trihexalon? They must have set up a factory somewhere where they can keep it in a stable and inert form. Unless they managed to make upgrades to the refining process." Ahsoka observed.
"Its that dangerous, isn't it?" Ruby asked.
"A single vile could kill about three hundred Wookie's." Ahsoka added. "Now that we know what the weapon is, we can make a list of planets with a climate much like Nod Kartha where the factory could be based at." She added.
"They could have built the factory on a planet that a different climate and created an artificial environment to produce the weapon." Rose suggested. "I mean, Dust is usually refined in Atlas at the Schnee Quarry, but other companies have been doing it in the other Kingdoms, though the process takes a bit longer without the equipment the Schnee Company has. They should really give that tech to others who are mining dust, but they horde it all for themselves, greedy bastards. No offense, Weiss."
"None taken." Weiss replied. "Still, if they have a small outpost, they might have a terminal where we could download the data from. Narrowing down our search will be a lot easier than searching every cold planet at once, not to mention they would carry out the attack while we are searching." She added.
"Weiss has a point, unless we know where to look, we'll just be wasting time and allow the Empire to kill more people. I won't let that happen." Blake said determinedly.
"Alright, so let's go get it." March said, readying his Mortar launcher. "But let's see what we're up against." He said, surprising Galen and Ruby who thought March would charge in guns blazing. Instead, he took out a pair of electro-binoculars from his belt and zoomed in on the village remains. "Looks like a few of those Stormtrooper with those colored shoulder pieces, their armed with blasters and machine guns, maybe a few carbines as well. No heavy weapons…" he reported before he spotted an imperial officer. "Look's like there's an officer down there. He might know something; we just need to capture him." he added with a smirk.
"Then that's our objective, but if he makes a run for it, we'll need someone on the Shark." Ahsoka remined.
"I can deal with that." Galen said before he instructed the others to move closer to the village while he jumped in the Sharks driver seat. It didn't take long for Galen to hear the sound of blaster fire coming from the village and a call from Ruby told him the officer was making a run for it. "I'll go after the officer, see if one of the troopers might have some info on the outposts defenses!" he said over the commlink and chased after the officer.
Said officer pushed his 74-Z speeder bike to full power and was planning to head back to the outpost, but that plan came to an end when the Shark leapt over a sand dune, much to the officer's surprise to see a wheeled yet primitive vehicle giving chase. "So, someone thinks they can take down an officer of the Imperial military with an old vehicle such as that? Well, they are in for quite a surprise." The officer said to himself with a smirk before pressing a button on his speeder bikes console.
A kilometer away, multiple TX-130T fighter tanks emerged from their hiding place underneath the sand and headed for the officer's location. Unlike the actual tanks, these ones were modified with a prototype version of an advanced droid brain based off the ones used by the Ground Attack Tanks used by the Separatists during the war. While it lacked the shielding the original tank had it still had all the same weapons as the basic version. "That should keep this scum busy." The officer said with a smirk, before getting a nasty surprise when Galen pulled up alongside the officer's speeder bike. "Catch me if you can, boy." The officer goaded and pushed his bike to full power, leaving Galen to contend with the tanks.
(Guard Pursuit starts)
"I'll let him think he's got me on shaking in my boots. That should keep him busy on trying to get away while I focus on the tanks." Galen said too himself and kicked in the Sharks boosters and continued to pursue the enemy officer even as the tanks began to shoot at him. One tank tried to ram Galen into one of the colossal stone pillars but only ended up crashing into one of the pillars. "Great, something tells me that these aren't imperial tank jockeys!" he snarled before he served to the right and slammed into another tank as he and his attackers soared over a sudden drop as the tank fell into a crater where it exploded.
One of the other tanks landed in front of him and Galen opened up with the Shark's machine guns, ripping through the tanks armor before it too exploded and ended up as a wreck. "If they aren't piloted by people, does this mean there..." Galen began until he sensed something, looking back he saw that one of the tanks had launched a pair of missiles at him and were tracking him. "I really hate missiles." He said to himself before he spotted the entrance to Beggars canyon.
Multiple cliffside houses belonging to hermits zipped past Galen as he continued to track his prey while trying to avoid getting killed. Pushing his vehicle to its limits, Galen pulled a one-hundred-eighty degree turn and fired his vehicles machine guns, destroying two more of the pursuing tanks before pulling another one-hundred-eighty-degree turn, just in time to avoid going up an access ramp.
Some of the tanks headed up the ramp only to explode the moment they tried to stop and fall over the side. "Yeah, something tells me those are droids." he said to himself before exiting the canyon and found himself on a flat plain, spotting the officer on his vehicles radar. "Someone must have gotten overconfident and decided to slow down." He mused to himself and activated the Shark's boosters again, starting to catch up with the officer. "Still need to take care of these tanks." he remembered as missiles streaked past him and slammed into several stone arches that laid ahead causing some of the arches to collapse.
Pushing his vehicles engines to full power, Galen managed to get through the arches while the last of the tanks were crushed by the falling rocks. A narrow canyon lay ahead of Galen who continued to press forward after the officer who threw multiple explosive charges behind him which detonated in mid-air. Sensing the officer's intentions, Galen was quick to send the charges high into the air with the force where they exploded just as the two entered a steep sided gorge that led into a cave system, forcing Galen to turn on his vehicles head lights. "Damn it, this guy knows his way around." He cursed.
A call on his commlink from Ruby informed him that they had finished mopping up the imperial forces at the village and hadn't found anything related to the outpost. "I'm still chasing the officer and he's really starting to pissing me off! I'll call you back as soon as I can, trying not to crash here!" Galen shouted as he and the officer shot out of the cave.
A sharply curved canyon lay ahead as both Galen and the officer turned hard to avoid crashing or getting shot at by several Tusken Raiders who had camped out on the canyon's ridge took pot shots at them, no doubt thinking that they were the same since the empire had been killing their kind. Things then took a turn for the worse when more imperial speeder bikes showed up and started to fire at Galen with their blaster cannons.
With no other choice, Galen slowed down before he opened up on the speeder bikes with the twin-machine guns, killing the scout trooper pilots before he pushed his buggy back to full power and kicked in the boosters. "He's not getting away!" Galen spat and pushed his foot down on the gas pedal hard, closing the gap between him and the officer more and more.
The officer looked back in both surprise and fear as he blasted out of the canyon. "No one could survive that many imperial forces and survive!" the officer said in a panic, failing to notice a piece of a wrecked podracer was directly in his path. By the time the officer did, he had no choice but to ditch his speeder bike, which slammed into the podracer and exploded while the officer rolled on the ground for a few feet, getting covered in sand and dirt. "Blast it!" the officer cursed as Galen pulled his vehicle to a stop.
(End song)
The officer pulled out their pistol and started to fire at Galen, but the young Jedi dashed close to the officer and severed the hand holding the pistol, causing the officer to scream in pain before they were lifted off the ground. "Where is your outpost!?" Galen demanded as the Rouge Shadow landed behind him.
"Go to hell you Jedi scum!" the officer spat, spitting in Galen's face. "I'll die before I betray the Empire, I've sworn a loyalty to the…" the officer went on before he found himself putting his remaining hand around his neck as his air supply began to dwindle.
"You're the type of person who likes to assert himself on those younger than you. How many people have killed themselves after you've sexually assaulted them?" Galen demanded angrily, his eyes turning yellow for the first time since he met Ruby. "I'll make sure that you never harm anyone again!" Galen roared, increasing the grip around the officer's neck.
"Don't do it, Galen!" Ruby shouted as she and the others arrived. "Don't kill him! He's not worth it!" she begged.
Hearing Ruby's voice, Galen let go of the officer's throat and his eyes returned to normal. The officer gasped for breath before Ahsoka walked over to the officer and used a Jedi mind trick to force the officer to give them the location of the outpost. Only seconds later, the officer then died after biting down on a cyanide pill in his teeth, dying as the pill did its job.
"Ruby, I'm sorry. I just…" Galen began. "There are people in the Empire who use their positions to do whatever they want and that man, he's one of those people who just abuse their power to do whatever they want and don't care who they hurt. If he caught you, I'd never forgive myself for not being able to protect you." He admitted.
"You don't need to protect me. I'm more than capable of protecting myself, but the fact that you'd even say that its nice knowing that someone's got my back." Ruby admitted, hiding her blush again. "But what you did, you'd be no better than the Empire or that Inquisitor who took me." She reminded.
"I know." Galen admitted.
"Well, you got what we needed, now let's head over to the outpost and figure out what the hell the Empire is up to." March said. "That was pretty brutal, cutting off the guys hand and chocking him to reveal the location of the outpost. You sure you're not one of those Sith guys?" he asked.
"No, not anymore." Galen answered before the group headed towards the outpost's location. The remains of a ruined village in the Valley of the Spirits. Tusken Raider legends said that a ghost or demon haunted the remains of the camp which had caused the deaths of the people who lived in the village long ago. The remains of the village were replaced by an imperial outpost.
Sand-Troopers armed with light, heavy and basic blaster rifles patrolled the inside of the outpost where several Sentinel-class landing craft were being loaded with equipment. "Seems that the Empire is leaving the planet. That means they have completed their weapons test." Galen observed. "I don't see any armor guarding the outpost, not even an E-WEB, they probably didn't think anyone would find this place." He surmised.
"Then that means they won't be expecting a fight." March said, double checking the PLX-2M portable rocket launcher he got from Hondo. "I suggest we hit them hard and fast. We use the launcher I have here and hit those shuttles before they leave. That big tower in the center has to be a comm tower or something so we need to hit that thing before they call in for backup. Hondo and his boys should be coming in with a few of their tanks, so we should be able to buy them enough time before the calvary arrives." March suggested, getting an odd look from Galen. "What? I'm starting to think a little more clearly since this is way different from fighting Grimm." He stated.
"And I thought you were always insane when it comes to battle. Alright then, Ruby, you and Rose provide sniper fire. March use the rocket launcher and take out the shuttles and comm tower. The rest of us will move in enter the outpost from the right. We'll attack as soon as the shuttles and tower our destroyed. Remember, keep the terminals here intact so we can download the data from them. March, once that launcher is used up, use your blaster and lay down suppressing fire." Galen instructed.
The others nodded and moved into position. Galen, Arthur, Weiss, Yang, Blake and Ahsoka were able to sneak to the outposts right side, somehow without even being detected by the Imperial forces. "We're in position now. When ever your ready, March." Galen said softly into his commlink.
"Copy that, boss." March replied. Everyone waited before they looked to see a rocket zip overhead, slamming into the comms tower and destroying. Two more rockets followed suit and slammed into the shuttles that were about to take off, spiraling out of control before they crashed into the side of the cliff, exploding. "Green light boss."
"Copy that." Galen replied and reached out with the force, ripping a massive hole through the outposts wall, creating an opening for him and the others to enter. "Move, move!" Galen shouted, igniting his sabers before leaping through the hole.
(War of Change starts)
Arthur followed his team leaders lead, throwing a thermal detonator through the recently made opening. The grenade exploded, killing several stormtroopers allowing Arthur to charge in and fire his wrist blasters at two enemy troopers before diving for cover behind a supply crate as enemy heavy blaster fire zipped towards him. Whipping out his carbine, he threw another grenade towards the enemy soldiers who were then killed by the explosion. "You imperial soldiers have no honor." He said with a scowl, firing his carbine at several other troopers.
Blake and Weiss killed two troopers each with a vertical slash from their Vibroswords before delivering a horizontal slash on two other troopers across their chests. "Blake, over there by the one of buildings!" Weiss called out, spotting a Stormtrooper with a thermal detonator primed before they were gunned down by a blast from one of Blake's pistols. "Nice shot." Weiss complimented her teammate when Blake turned around and aimed her pistol at Weiss.
"Duck!" Blake told her teammate before firing at a trooper that tried to get the drop on the Schnee girl. "Sorry about that, not enough time to explain." Blake stated, putting her blade back in her sheath before pulling out her second pistol before dashing towards one of the buildings, got on the roof and jumped off firing her pistols at a small squad of troopers. "This is a cause I want to fight for, freedom for the people ruled by an oppressive ruler." She said to herself, landing back on the ground.
"I knew you wouldn't try and kill me." Weiss said as she joined up with Blake, firing her own pistols at the imperial forces while Ahsoka used several supply crates as a makeshift shield to protect the two. "Grenades, now!" Weiss shouted and rolled one of her remaining grenades under the crates with Blake following suit. Both grenades exploded, killing the troopers that were firing at them.
Throwing the crates being used for cover away, Ahsoka leapt forwards and slashed several troopers across the torso before she spotted Hondo and his men arrive on scene with Hondo crashing through the front of the outpost with the tank he was driving. "Like I always say: Speak softly and drive a big tank!" he shouted as his men stormed the outpost.
Ruby, Rose and March watched this from the hilltop and began to lay down suppressing fire for their allies attacking the outpost. A shot rang out, nailing one imperial soldier in the helmet before another fell too the ground. "Think that's our que to move it, ladies!" March shouted before he began to slide down the hilltop, but before he could even begin to fire Ruby used her semblance and got the three inside the base. "First our auras don't work so well and now it seems that our semblances don't work for very long. Well, beggars can't be choosers." He said with a shrug before firing his heavy blaster and downing several imperial soldiers before they could even react.
Rose quickly shouldered her sniper rifle and pulled out her dual WESTAR-35's and gunned down several troopers while Ruby fired her own pistol, taking down a few troopers as well. She was tempted to bring out the lightsaber she found, but refrained from doing so since she still lacked the proper training to wield such a weapon. She was sure that Galen would help her.
Yang loaded a fresh powerpack into her M5 blaster rifle before she popped out from behind the supply crate she was using for cover, spraying blaster bolts at several enemy troopers killing some of them but not all of them. A stray blaster bolt from one of the troopers still alive grazed her shoulder, causing a burning sensation to flow through her body like fire. "Damn it!" she cursed, ducking back down behind the supply crate. She then threw a glance at Galen's location. "He makes it look so easy with those lightsabers!" she complained slightly.
Speaking of said boy, Galen threw his sabers at several troopers cutting them down before he blasted them with a powerful concentration of the force sending the imperial troopers flying back into the wall. Blaster fire from several of Hondo's men killed several imperial troopers, only for some of them to be killed by a grenade they didn't see. Leaping through the air and landing behind the troopers, Galen sheathed his sabers before he utilized the hand-to-hand combat techniques, he learned from Sedyn's classes back at Beacon.
The troopers immediately readied their blasters to terminate him, but Galen pulled their weapons away from them with the Force before taking a fighting stance and goaded the troopers to come at him. The troopers did so, only to be beaten badly by a series of punches, kicks and other hand-to-hand combat moves he learned. Bring his fists down he broke the arm of one Stormtrooper before sweeping another off their feet and dislocating the soldier's shoulder.
Several of the remaining troopers were quick to pick up their blasters and would have filled Galen full of holes had it not been for March gunning them down with his heavy blaster rifle. "If this is the best the Empire can offer, they must not think very highly of these men we just took down." March said, lowering his blaster. Just seconds afterwards, one of the few surviving imperial troopers chocked their blaster and would have blasted March had it not been for Hondo firing his own pistol at the trooper killing them.
(End song)
"Really need to keep an eye on your surroundings, boy." Hondo said, lowering his pistol before he ordered his men to load up the crates onto the tanks after going through the contents of the crates, finding them full of blasters and other military supplies. "Come on then, load them up and let's get them to the rebellion. I'm not running a charity here you know!" he shouted to his men who did as the captain instructed.
While the pirates loaded up the crates, Galen and the others had downloaded the data from the terminals still online in the main building and too their relief the data hadn't been deleted. "Let's hope the intelligence we get will give us a clue as to what the Empire has planned." Galen said as he stepped out from the building and stared at the suns before he turned to Ruby. "Thanks again, for stopping me just short of murder. Maybe I can repay you by giving you some lessons in lightsaber combat." He said to the young leader who smiled.
And chapter complete. So, I brought in the great Hondo Ohnaka who might I add is a very, very interesting character of Star Wars, in my opinion anyway. Can never tell what that guy is planning or thinking, then again, I'm not a pirate.
Second, I had Ruby, Ahsoka and Galen learn that Obi-Wan is still alive and hiding on Tatooine. Now don't right away assume that one of them will alert Vader that his old master is still alive. Nope, that is not going to happen. Speaking of Obi-Wan, he has given Ruby a few pointers on Lightsaber combat which Galen will assist in training her on in later chapters. I'll come out and say it right now, this is a Galen/Ruby pairing story. Also, Artoo and Threepio have made a brief albeit small appearance.
Third, March had revealed a bit about his past to the others. Darth Cody, if you are reading this please tell me if I did a good job with handling the character you gave me.
But while our heroes have gotten a lead on the Imperials Trihexalon weapons project, Maul and Salem have come up with something to put their plan for Vale back on track. Luffy L Deathwalker, Maul did not give Salem the plans for the Death Star, that massive space station took nineteen years to complete and with their plan for Vale only mouths away, they won't build one of their own in time. What Maul gave Salem, is something as equally as deadly but on a smaller scale. Here's a hint, Ahsoka called it a cruiser crusher.
Speaking of our hero's, Neo, Rick, Dante, Cipher and Pixy have brought their planes to the Rebellion for more upgrades. I'm going to have those pilots prove their capabilities in the battle that is to come down the road. Speaking of which, please remember to cast your votes for which plane you would like to see Galen fly when its time for the group to return to Remnant.
Anyways, please read and review and I will see you all next time, hopefully I'll feel a lot better when I post my next chapter.
