Why is it that no one has casted their vote for the craft that they want to see Galen pilot when he and the others return to Remnant? Is it because that he's from a galaxy that has more advanced technology and that having him fly a Remnant based fighter jet seems redundant or is it because he doesn't seem like the pilot type?
Well, whatever the reason is I'm going to have Galen fly a Remnant based fighter before he goes onto to pilot a fighter those of us who watched Star Wars: Clone Wars are familiar with. Said fighter will making a brief appearance this chapter, but it won't be used, not yet anyway.
Another note, no one seems to notice I included R2-KT. If any of you don't know, R2-KT or Katie as she is known as was constructed by the founder of the 501st Legion, Albin Johnson as a gift for his daughter Katie who died of brain cancer in 2005 and wanted R2 to watch over her like he did for Padme in Attack of the Clones. R2-KT has since appeared at various children's hospitals, charity events and Star Wars Celebration as a means to raise money for charity and an action figure of said droid made over one-hundred thousand dollars. I even heard that the Japanese Garrison of the 501st legion told George Lucas about Katies condition, which in turn the creator of Star Wars filmed her a 'Get Well' video.
I decided to make KT as Neo's astromech copilot because aside from having pink accented plating much like Neo has pink hair, I wanted that droid not to be working for the Empire, like I read about on the Star Wars wiki site.
Onto the reviews
To the guest reviewer: There is no way in hell I am having Ruby join the dark side. Unlike that murdering bitch Cinder, Ruby doesn't desire power or has any of the other qualities that Cinder or other dark side wielders have. She wants to protect people like the heroes in the stories she read as a child so why would she abandon that goal for the power of the dark side.
Ham1999: It's funny you mention a Doom/Clone Wars crossover. When I first started writing Fan-fiction, I was considering such a crossover with elements from Doom, Doom Eternal and Doom 3, but I came to a bump in the world regarding on how to make both universes connect.
54godamora: Thanks, I appreciate the sentiment. Losing a relative is always hard, but it was harder with my Grandfather since I went down many times to visit him and my grandma more than I went to visit my dad's parents. Still, being able to visit his grave has helped me out quite a bit in terms of elevating my sadness of losing him a year ago. That theme you mentioned, which version of it were you thinking off?
42: You mean those special operations troopers that received surgical enhancements that probably put them in the same league of the Spartans from Halo? Yeah, I don't think so. Though they would be a challenge for people like Rex and Fordo, I'm only going to be using the Bad Batch from the canon series. Sorry if I disappoint you.
Monster King: Thank you and thank you for the reviews you left on my Lone Wolf stories. If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me what it is about my stories that you like?
Luffy L Deathwalker: Trust me, the battle for Naboo will not be as easy as you might be thinking, considering that Sutherland has asked for the Gault, Wizard and Sorcerer teams to assist with the operation. As for what is going on back on Remnant, no one, not even Ironwood and Ozpin know what is happening on Remnant or Maul for that matter. But when it's time to return to Remnant, you're going to be very surprised what happens, I hope anyway.
Jack Smith1: Depending on when your Resident Evil/Star Wars story is set, just make sure you don't forget the B.O.W's and other monsters along with Umbrella. Maybe you could have the Bad Batch and Delta Squad team up. Now in regards to the rebel ships, I have plans regarding how the Rebels will handle Naboo this chapter and I am well aware of Able-1707, but I'm not so sure on how to bring him in.
Spartan-626: When it comes to someone like William Sutherland, in Gundam Seed or any fanfiction, you can always bet that bastard has an ulterior motive, I mean he and the top brass of the Earth Alliance in said anime did sacrifice many allies all so they could detonate a powerful weapon to wipe out their enemies, seeing as they were members of a terrorist organization that was willing to use nuclear weapons on civilians and turn teenagers into super-soldiers with the use of drugs and chemicals. Sorry about the disappointment with Rick and Ahsoka, but Neo is Rick's adoptive sister so it might be kind of weird, but I haven't actually confirmed the pairing with a kiss. I know about Star Wars Lore stuff, but I'm not the one who does all that lore stuff and yes, Ruby has a long way to go when it comes to training in the ways of the Force.
Alright reviews are done, time to get this chapter started. Disclaimers are the same as before so please enjoy.
Chapter 28: Battle for Naboo
With over twenty-six moons orbiting the bright red gas giant anyone would think that a planet known as Yavin would have any significance to any of the major powers during periods of war. They would be wrong for on Yavin 4, during the Clone War Ventress and Anakin Skywalker had a ferocious duel during the Battle of Muunilinst. After said duel, the rivalry between Ventress and Anakin was born. Now the Rebel Alliance had turned one of the old Massassi temples into their base, using it to wage their war against the Empire and restore the Republic.
When the rebellion turned the planet into their base, several rebel soldiers who were establishing a lookout station found the remains of an old but customized Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, better known as the Jedi Starfighter that was destroyed. Incredibly, much of the fighter was still intact including the body of the astromech copilot despite it being blown to pieces. Rebel high command, knowing that such a fighter would be useful for any Jedi survivors who might join the rebellion, ordered the fighter be repaired and restored to full working order, including the astromech.
Currently technicians and flight crews were working on making the fighter combat ready along with the X-Wings, Y-Wings and various other starfighters like the R-22 Spearhead, Z-95 Headhunter and Cutlass 9 patrol fighter as the Rogue Shadow, Havoc Marauder and captured Sentinel shuttle landed allowing its crew and passengers to disembark.
No sooner had they landed, Galen, Ruby and Rex rushed towards the command center where Ozpin, Bail, Ironwood, Mothma, Plo and Halberton were discussing over recent imperial activity with General Jan Dodonna who like Halberton was a defector from the Empire after the government he once served tried to assassinate him for his distaste of the Empire's ruthless tactics. A seasoned veteran of both the Stark Hyperspace War and the Clone Wars, he had a strong grasp for tactics and strategies compared to the likes of Sutherland who would launch full-frontal assaults despite the amount of enemy firepower.
"Did you destroy the factory?" Bail asked.
"We did, but we have a bigger problem. The Empire is going to launch an attack on Naboo using Trihexalon." Galen answered.
Everyone in the command center was dead quiet after hearing the target of the Empire's attack. It was common knowledge that the Emperor was born on Naboo and served as its senator when the Trade Federation blockaded his home. He tricked Queen Amidala into calling A Vote of No Confidence that removed Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum from power. Nominated as the next Chancellor and winning the vote, Palpatine laid the ground work for the Empire with the rise of the Separatists and the beginning of the Clone Wars which resulted in him receiving more and more power before he finally proclaimed himself Emperor, after the so called 'Jedi Rebellion'.
Too attack his own home planet just to send a message to the Rebellion that he would not be challenged by 'terrorists', proved that the man had no shame or empathy and would go as far as to murder his own people of his own planet. "We must act quickly if we are to stop the Emperor from carrying out his plan." Bail said before he turned to a communications officer and instructed them to send a coded transmission to Tarik Hibam, a member of the Royal Naboo Security Forces and the leader of the Naboo resistance of the attack.
Their transmission went unanswered until an hour later when Tarik himself made contact and confirmed the situation on the planet. Multiple imperial special operations Star Destroyers were blockading the planet, preventing even merchant ships from offloading their cargo for the people. The local imperial garrison was reinforced with multiple battalions of imperial spec ops soldiers, bringing in dozens of imperial walkers and tanks forcing the people living in the capital of Theed to remain in their homes and placing the city on lockdown.
Apparently, the Empire claimed that they were conducting counter-terrorist sweeps across the city and didn't want civilians getting caught in the crossfire of the impending firefights between them and the terrorists. This was a ruse as Sutherland who was put in charge of the operation could maximize the casualties inflicted by the weapon was placed in the center of the city.
The resistance on Naboo wasn't as heavily armed like the Rebellion. With the Empire tightening their grip around the galaxy, the resistance still had access to the basic blaster pistols used by the Security forces along with only a handful of rifles ranging from the Imperial E-11 and clone issued DC series, but no rocket launchers. In terms of armor and air-power, they had only several armed versions of the Flash and Gain landspeeders along with only a handful of N-1, N-X Police Cruisers and NB-1S Royal Bombers along with very few pilots since many of the pilots were drafted into Imperial service.
Though they did have help from a pair of mercenary pilots known as the Espada Team who flew a pair of modified Z-95 AF-4 Headhunters and the Gungan's, they couldn't do anything without risking the Empire detonating the bomb without noticing the approaching resistance fighters.
"If we arrived in force, the Empire will detonate the bomb and kill the entire population of the city. If we don't then the bomb will be detonated and lives will be lost either way. I'm afraid there is nothing we can do." Mothma said with reluctance.
"So that's it? You're just going to let the Empire get away with killing people with a chemical weapon, on his own home planet and frame all of you for terrorism. I thought you were fighting to restore the Republic, not cower like a bunch of whipped dogs who haven't done anything to deserve said whipping!" Ruby asked. "You can't just give up and let this happen!"
"And what do you suggest we do? We still lack the number of cruisers and capital ships to launch a full-scale war against the Empire and we have no ship that can get past their blockade without being detected." Mothma reminded the young girl.
"What about the stealth ship that General Skywalker used to get past Admiral Trench's blockade over Christophsis?" Cody suggested as he walked into the command room. "It's a small ship so a small team could land on the planet and keep the Empire occupied while others work on disarming the bomb."
"The Commander makes a valid point." Kota inputted. "Prior to the forming of the Rebellion, my men and I were able to acquire several more of these vessels that the Empire was constructing at Fondor." He began before he brought up a hologram of Naboo and the Imperial blockade. "These versions are equipped with Hyperdrives, so if they drop out of hyperspace on the dark side of Rori, they can use their cloaking devices and slip past the blockade without the Imperials noticing." He added.
"I know a lot of our brothers on Remnant are itching for a chance to hit the Empire hard, so this is as good a chance as any for them to get that chance. Besides, Senator Amidala would be rolling in her grave if we allowed her home planet to suffer a terrorist attack." Rex said in agreement.
"Agreed. Captain, when you return to Remnant, tell Admiral Coburn, Masters Fisto and Secura to prepare whatever ships are ready for departure. Master Kota, have your pilots load their bombers with Ion Torpedoes', while you may lack capital ships its possible that disabling and capturing several of the imperial ships blockading the planet would bolster your numbers." Plo added.
"A solid strategy, Master Plo. Using Imperial starships against the Empire would certainly give us more firepower." Kota agreed before he turned to Galen. "Prep your ship and take your friends to Naboo, have the Bad Batch, Delta Squad and Ghost Squad accompany you with the Marauder. I have a feeling that the rebels on Naboo are probably planning an attack of their own as we speak. Cripple the enemy's communications so they can't have Sutherland detonate the bomb remotely."
"Right away, Kota." Galen answered before he Ruby and Rex headed out of the command center. "The fighters from Remnant, are their hyperdrives online?" he asked.
"Not yet, but the other systems are fully functional." Kota answered.
"Good. Have them loaded up onto the ship carrying Red Squadron. We'll need all the firepower we can get." He added.
Several hours later, multiple stealth ships along with the Rogue Shadow and Marauder dropped out of hyperspace on the dark side of Rori and activated their cloaking systems before running silently towards the planet of Naboo, which Weiss stated was beautiful. Inside the stealth ships, rebel commando's and ARC-Troopers prepared their weapons and equipment while the ships slipped silently past the unsuspecting Sutherland who had no knowledge about the rebel stealth ships.
Said captain was standing on the bridge of his personal ship, the Reaver waited with anticipation for the forces on the planet to give him the go ahead to detonate the hex bomb and send a message to the Emperor that the objective was completed. "Trooper, make sure the sensor relay is operating at one-hundred percent, if the Rebellion decides to launch an attack we must know if they are coming. Have all weapons systems primed for usage at a moment's notice." The captain ordered a nearby Stormtrooper who relayed the captain's orders to the gunnery crews. 'Once the rebellion see's that their efforts are futile, they will be defeated and I will be promoted to Admiral.' The captain thought with a sinister look in his eyes. He didn't notice the cloaked ships pass by the blockade and enter the atmosphere of the planet.
The ships touched down several kilometers away from the capital and over a hundred ARC-Troopers and rebel commandos exited the ships as the Rogue Shadow and Marauder landed. "Let's move it boys, the communications have to be down before the fleet arrives and we don't have a lot of time." Hunter instructed his brothers, using the three Gian speeders left by the Naboo rebels and headed towards the communications building outside the city.
At a top speed of two-hundred and forty kilometers an hour, it took the three commando teams no time at all to reach the communications tower which wasn't heavily guarded. "Looks like a couple platoons of bucketheads guarding the tower." Wrecker observed, cracking his knuckles and ready to charge at the forces guarding the tower.
"Easy there, Wrecker. We go charging the enemy below, they'll alert the fleet above and that bomb will go off and we'll have failed the mission. Besides, something tells me that those aren't regular Stormtroopers down there." Niner told the muscular trooper before pulling out his electro-binoculars and scoped out the situation below. "Looks like they have some of those troopers we encountered on Dathomir, the ones who are basically cyborgs. Not a whole lot of them, but it looks like the rest of the enemy below is armed with the usual imperial equipment, E-11's and crappy armor. Might be a few heavy blasters down there, but nothing out of the ordinary." He observed, lowering his binoculars before he and Wrecker slid down the hill that overlooked the tower.
"Full frontal assault is out of the question Sergeant. They've got us outnumbered and we need to be quick about this operation. Take too long with small fry and we won't have the communications down by the time the fleet arrives." Niner stated as a holo-map of the tower and its surrounding area was brought up from their holoprojector. "There appears to be a back entrance to the tower, so here's what I'm thinking. Sev, Crosshair and Trace set up a sniper position and hit the imperials once the rest of us go around the back and enter the tower. From there, we move in and destroy their communications systems."
"Good plan, but we'll need to hurry. From the sounds of things, it appears that the Naboo Rebels have already entered the city and are engaging the Imperial forces. Sutherland doesn't seem to be bothered by this in the slightest but it won't be long before the fleet arrives. Maybe we should download any data from the systems before blowing this place to bits." Boss suggested.
"Good call, lets get it done." Hunter agreed.
The other nine commandos headed for the rear of the tower while Crosshair, Sev and Trace set up their sniper rifles and waited for the signal from their leaders to begin the operation. A tap on the other side of their commlinks informed them that the others were in position and Tech had jammed the enemy commlinks. All three commandos pulled the trigger of their rifles, each of them downing an imperial soldier with a precise headshot. "Snipers! Take cover." One of the Stormtroopers shouted before they took a round to the chest.
The sounds of blaster fire gave Hunter, Niner and Boss that it was time for them to make their own move. A quick slice of the towers systems by Fixer allowed the other nine commando's entry to the tower where they began to eliminate any imperial soldier's they came across with their vibroblades and knives, or in Wreckers case snapped their necks. "Can't believe these bucketheads are suppose to used in psycho-whatever it is warfare! They don't have the kind of training we have and they can't even hit the broadside of a barn." Wrecker chuckled, tossing a dead body to the side as he followed the others.
"Its psychological warfare." Tech corrected. "From what some of the rebel soldiers told me, the armor is designed to be without distinctions. That way, civilians and rebels alike will only see a united and implacable force, lowering the moral of anyone who has terrorist ideas." He added.
"It might be the helmets, probably some blind spots in the design or something. Either way, Stormtroopers are deadly against an untrained militia." Hunter said, digging his knife into the neck of an Imperial officer who was about the call for backup. "Lucky for us, we've had training."
The commandos soon made it to the main control center. "Execute door breach." Boss ordered. Darman was more than happy to oblige and loaded a breaching grenade into his rifles launcher mode before he took aim and fired the grenade, blowing through the door. Following the explosion, a couple of flashbangs were thrown into the room blinding the troopers inside the room before they were gunned down by precise blaster fire. "Fixer, Scorch, Tech, Darman. Begin placing charges on the towers systems and hacking into enemy communications. The rest of us will go help the others." Boss said.
"We'll have this done in no time, Delta lead. Enemy communications are jammed and they haven't figured out what we're up too yet. But that's probably going to change soon. Better get a move on." Fixer replied as he and the others set to work.
Leaving their brothers to do their thing Hunter, Niner, Wrecker and Climber headed for the front entrance of the tower, blasting a path through any trooper that got in their way. Wrecker grabbed a dazed Stormtrooper and used them as a human shield, forcing some of the enemy troopers to cease their shooting while others just kept on shooting, despite the protests of the trooper Wrecker was using for a shield. "Here! You can have him back!" Wrecker shouted, priming the trooper's thermal detonator on their belt before throwing the trooper towards their old allies who were killed when the grenade exploded. "Let's go before Crosshairs tops me again." He added before charging forwards and firing his blaster rifle at the enemy troopers.
Outside the tower, Crosshair had downed his twentieth Stormtrooper of the day. Another shot slammed into the head of another trooper that was about to fire their blaster, only for their shot to slam into one of their allies, killing them. "Don't these idiots know they don't have the range to hit a sniper from this distance?" Trace asked.
"Who cares, as long as we kill them all that's all that matters." Sev answered gruffly, downing another enemy trooper. "You know its kind of unfair that you're using the 773 on the Empire. But then again, they're the enemy."
The enemy below soon started to take fire from behind as Wrecker, Hunter, Boss and Niner blasted through the tower doors, catching the enemy off guard followed shortly by Fixer, Tech, Scorch and Darman who had finished their objective. "Let's blow this joint!" Hunter shouted blasting a path through the remaining imperial forces while the three snipers kept them covered as they high-tailed it over the hill and back to the speeders before Wrecker detonated the charges.
A series of explosions from inside the towers control room ripped through the building, causing the tower to collapse on the remaining imperial forces crushing them. "Starkiller, enemy communications tower has been destroyed. We're heading to the city now." Hunter said into his commlink.
"You guys better get here soon! We're getting pound by imperial armor and walkers! The rebels decided to stop waiting and decided to try take out the bomb themselves, but they were betrayed! One of their own was a spy and alerted the Empire that they were coming. Rex, Cody, Fordo and their brothers are trying to flank them on the west, but we need back up!" Rose shouted from the other side of the commlink.
"We're on our way!" Hunter replied and all three commando teams powered up the speeders and dashed towards Theed as fast as they could.
Back above the planet, Sutherland waited impatiently for the signal from the surface to detonate the bomb. "What is taking those fools so long? I want to finish this operation before the rebellion arrives!" he fumed.
"I don't know, Captain. We seem to be picking up some interference, it could be a solar storm or something interfering with our communications or the men on the ground are rebooting the communications. We're still picking up transmissions of the Naboo rebels attacking our own forces, but nothing that warrants the deployment of the Gault, Sorcerer and Wizard teams." an officer said.
Before Sutherland could reply, another officer called from his station. "Sir! We're detecting multiple ships dropping out of hyperspace!" they shouted. True to the officer's words, multiple MC80 cruisers, EF-76 frigates and CR90 corvettes dropped out of hyperspace. Following them were a few Trade Federation cruisers modified for rebel usage and several Acclamator assault ships, escorted by six Venator-Class Star Destroyers which bore the mark of the Republic navy. "It's the rebellion!" Sutherland said in surprise.
As the last of the rebel ships dropped out of hyperspace, hundreds of Y-Wings, Cutlass 9's, X-Wings, R-22 Spearhead, R-41 Starchaser, ARC-170's, Z-95 headhunters both clone and rebel version, V-Wings, a single Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor, a single Delta-7 Athersprite-class light interceptor and one Eta-2-Actis-class light interceptor, the last three piloted by Plo Koon, Kit Fisto and Ahsoka.
"All wings report in." Plo said into the commlink.
"Blue leader, standing by." Ahsoka called out.
"Green leader, standing by." Kit announced.
"Shadow leader, standing by." Broadside reported.
"Gold leader, standing by." Jon 'Dutch' Vander called out.
"Red leader, standing by." Garven reported.
"Scarface leader, standing by." Halberton called from the cockpit of his own X-Wing
From the central hanger of one of the Endurance 2, Galm Team, Mobius 1, Trigger and Countess taxied into the hanger after getting the green light for take-off from Admiral Killian. "Galm Team launching!" Cipher announced as his Dagger rocketed out of the Endurance 2, retracting its landing gear, followed by Pixy, Trigger, Mobius 1 and Countess.
"All pilots, lock S-foils into attack formation." Kota instructed from the bridge of the lead EF-76, the Salvation. As the pilots did so, he gave each squadron their orders. "Red and Blue squadrons, provide escort for the gunships, those soldiers will need reinforcements on the surface. Gold, Shadow, Green and Wolf-Pack will attack the enemy fleet. Gold Squadron, use your ion-torpedoes' on any Imperial ship. Disable the ships so the boarding teams can take control of them."
He then keyed the frequency for the Remnant fighters. "Remnant fighters, proceed to the surface with Red and Blue Squadrons. I'd recommend using only your laser cannon for the time being." He added before he headed for the hanger where multiple LAAT's were waiting with dozens of rebel marines lead by Sergeant Johnson. Other LAAT's on the other ships were loaded with both rebel and clone marines, led by Aayla who was waiting with Commander Bly for the order to launch.
From his flagship, Sutherland gritted his teeth in anger before he gave the order to scramble every single TIE fighter to engage the enemy fleet while also ordering multiple ships to protect his flagship. "I will not be defeated by a bunch of misfits who think they can challenge the Empire!" he snarled.
(Start Vitoze Aerial Defense)
"Incoming fighters!" one of the Y-Wing pilots shouted as hundreds of TIE fighters and TIE bombers streaked towards the incoming rebel craft, beginning the battle. A barrage of turbo laser fire streaked towards the incoming rebel fighters, forcing the pilots to evade the shots unless they wanted to be turned into space dust.
The TIE bombers streaked towards the rebel capital ships, their proton bombs armed and ready to be dropped on the ships. One group was heading straight towards Endurance 2, which began to open fire with its point-defense cannons and turbo lasers. "Concentrate all fire on those bombers! I don't want them dropping a single bomb on our ship!" Killian shouted to the fire-control officers.
A barrage of blue turbo laser rounds slammed into several enemy bombers while the rest were shot down by Kit Fisto and green squadron. "Green leader to squad leaders, we'll protect the ships! Everyone else is to focus on the enemy fleet." The Nautolan Jedi Master instructed his pilots who turned their attention to the fighters that had broken through their defenses. His copilot, R6-H5 beeped in alarm as cannon fire from three TIE fighters streaked from behind him. "R6, cut the engines." He instructed his companion. R6 did so and both of them flew past the stunned imperial fighter pilots who were then shot down by the same fighter they had just tried to shoot down.
Kit soon spotted another group of TIE fighter's, these ones directly on an attack run for the of MC-80's that had just destroyed an Imperial cruiser. Pushing his engines to full power, Kit got behind the imperial fighters and fired his twin cannons at the enemy fighters, destroying several of them and forcing the others to brake off, only to be downed by two allied fighters, a pair of X-Wings.
An explosion lit up the vast darkness of space as one of the modified Trade Federation cruisers was ripped in half by a barrage of imperial turbo laser fire. "Shadow Leader to Gold and Scarface leaders, we need to hit some of those cruisers before they can take out another ship. All shadow squadron pilots, hit those turbo laser batteries with everything you got. Gold leader, Scarface leader keep those fighters off us. Once we've finished our attack run, hit the bridge with everything you got!" Broadside instructed his brothers and the rebel pilots before he order shadows two through six to hit the starboard turbo lasers while shadows seven through twelve focused on the portside cannons.
Flying in a v-formation, the twelve clone Y-Wings speed towards the imperial ship before they broke off and flanked the enemy ship. Needless to say, most of the rebel pilots weren't too keen on following the orders of a bunch of clone troopers, who were the main reason the Empire came into power, but Jon knew that they needed to bunch a series of holes through the blockade for the landing craft so he did as Broadside suggested. "Gold three and five, form up on my wing. We'll hit the bridge, the rest of you keep those fighters off our backs. Admiral, mind giving the rest of my boys some help?"
"Copy that, Gold Leader. Scarface squadron is engaging the enemy fighters now!" Halberton replied, turning his craft in the direction of a squadron of TIE fighters, opening up with his X-Wing's four KX9 cannons, destroying the enemy squadron. A single TIE fighter managed to get on the Admiral's tail, firing its cannons at him, some of the shots reducing his shields by about five percent. Jon watched as the Admiral utilized a series of tight and sharp twisting turns, firing whenever the attacking ship got into his sights until finally, the enemy fighter took a hit, spinning out of control towards one of the cruisers deflector shield generators and exploding on impact, followed by a barrage of cannon fire from several other allied fighters which knocked out the cruiser's shields.
'Now I see why the Admiral is known as Phoenix' Jon thought to himself as Broadside and his squadron soon called out that the turbo lasers were destroyed. Jon acknowledged the clone's call and turned towards the Star Destroyer's bridge with Tiree and Davish Krail on his left and right flanks. All three Y-Wing pilots opened up with their twin cannons, their shots hitting the bridge and killing all those onboard before the three pilots pulled up as a chain reaction spread through the rest of the ship before it exploded. "Gold Leader to all squadron leaders, target the turbo laser cannons of the Star Destroyers first then hit the bridge with cannon fire. Continue to punch a hole through the blockade, the guys on the surface need back up!" he called out.
"Red Leader copies, Gold Leader." Garven replied before his astromech copilot, R5-S6 beeped in alarm as a pair of TIE fighters managed to get on his six 'o'clock and had managed to reduce his shields to ten-percent. "I've got two on my tail! I need some support!" he shouted into the commlink. His squad mates were preoccupied with other imperial fighters so he began to execute a series of evasive maneuvers, dodging cannon fire as best he could.
The lead TIE pilot continued to track the rebel craft with their targeting computer before the craft was in their sights, however before the pilot could fire a barrage of laser fire from the front consumed the pilot and their wingman in a fireball as Mobius 1 shot overhead as Garven's shields recharged to full power. "Thanks for the support, Mobius 1!" Garven called out as another imperial capital ship exploded. "Red Leader to Blue Leader and Remnant craft. We've got our opening! All dropships head for those openings and get your asses to the surface!" he called to the other pilots.
"Red 5 to Red Leader, I've got a bogey on my tail! I can't shake them! Their too fast! It's some kind of new…" Red Five called out before the transmission was cut off and a distant explosion confirmed that another pilot was killed in battle. Garven made a vow that he would let the deaths of his fellow pilots not be in vain as he formed up with the rest of his squadron, Ahsoka's squad and the Remnant fighters as they headed planet side.
(End song)
As the rebel and clone dropships headed planet side, several squadrons of Y-Wings both rebel and clone launched a barrage of Ion torpedoes, disabling several enemy Star Destroyers. "General Kota, we've disabled several enemy capital ships, sending coordinates now!" one of the pilots called out before they broke hard left to avoid a barrage of enemy cannon fire.
"Understood." Kota replied from inside one of the many gunships that departed from the hangers towards the disabled enemy ships. Without their turbo laser or point-defense system weapons to protect the ships, the imperial ships could not destroy the incoming boarding craft. The same couldn't be said for the imperial fighters which managed to destroy several gunships before they could even land in the hangers. For a second, it seemed that the Empire was going to prevent the rebels from capturing their ships, but that changed when both the Empire and Rebels were surprised by the arrival of three more Venators, which began to deploy ARC-170's, V-Wings, Z-95's and gunships that went towards both Naboo and the disabled cruisers. Along with them, multiple N-1 Starfighters and NB-1S bombers joined the battle accompanied by two Z-95 AF-4 headhunters both of which had a crimson and gold coloring leading the formation. "Espada 1 to Bravo and Echo squadrons. Time to stop the Empire. Engage the fighters and provide support for the friendly transports going for the disabled transports, the rebellion must capture those ships." Alberto Lopez, Espada 1 called over friendly channels as his partner, Marcela Vasquez Espada 2 gunned down several imperial fighters.
"Ghost leader copies, Espada 1." Sedyn responded from his own V-Wing, pushing his crafts twin ion engines to full power before instructing his copilot, R2-A4 to switch his laser cannons to shock cannon mode and arm his proton bombs. "Ghost squadron, Black squadron, commence attack run on targeted enemy cruisers, commence bombing run and hit those imperial bastards hard. Alpha squadron, Delta squadron, Gamma squadron, target enemy fighters and protect the transports. Show them what it means to be a Mandolorian!"
A series of 'Yes sir' from the newly arrived clone pilots echoed throughout the commlinks before Kota confirmed the voice he heard. "Sedyn Merrick, is that you boy? By the force, I had hoped you would still be alive. Where have you been all this time?" Kota asked in a surprised and grateful tone.
"General, they'll be time to explain everything later, right now we need to focus on the battle and stop that so called man the galaxy calls 'Emperor'." Sedyn answered. Kota agreed and the gunships contined towards the disabled cruisers.
(Metal Machine starts)
Zooming in at over four-thousand and eight hundred G's, the bombers and intercept craft braved the enemy turbo laser fire, dropping proton bombs on the enemy ships disabling the shields and allowing the interceptor craft to finish off the ships with barrages of cannon fire directly in the bridge. The combined squadron of interceptors and bombers then turned towards another enemy cruiser with the interceptors blazing a path through any enemy fighters that crossed their path, while taking only minimal losses. The gunners on the bombers kept any craft trying to attack them from the rear off of them as they dropped their payload and another imperial ship joined the other wrecked ships. "All V-Wings, we've got multiple enemy bombers and their escorts heading for several rebellion frigates. Intercept them, I'll protect assist the bombers." Sedyn instructed his V-Wing pilots who peeled off and headed after the enemy units going for the frigates.
"A4, switch to concussion missiles." He instructed his droid copilot who did as their partner instructed. A lock onto multiple imperial craft gave the Mandalorian Jedi all the indication he needed to fire his missiles at the acquired targets. Multiple warheads streaked towards multiple imperial fighters which exploded into numerous fireballs of space dust and wrecked parts. Craning his neck around, Sedyn spotted multiple TIE fighters taking out some of the bombers before they headed straight towards him. Gritting his teeth, Sedyn banked hard to port, dodging incoming cannon fire and managed to get behind the enemy fighters destroying them with a burst of cannon fire before he rejoined the bombers and returned to providing escort with only a few V-Wings that had just returned from protecting the rebel frigates.
"All bombers are to return to the ship for rearming. No use in having a bomber fighter without bombs." Sedyn instructed his pilots who quickly headed back to the Venator's of the 332nd legion. Just as the bombers headed back to the ships, numerous TIE fighter pilots saw this as an opportunity for them to score several kills and went after the retreating bombers, attacking from all angles and forcing the returning bombers to evade. "You imperials have no honor!" Sedyn snarled, pressing the fire button on his controls, launching his remaining concussion missiles taking down multiple fighters and saving as many pilots as he could. "Black Squadron, engage those fighters and hit them with everything you've got!" he shouted into the commlink before he broke off and went after several TIE's pursuing a damaged R-41.
He arrived too late to save the pilot, but quickly avenged the fallen with a barrage of cannon fire, killing three more imperial pilots while the last one broke off. "No you don't." Sedyn said and gave chase. Weaving in and out between the wreckage of fighters and capital ships, the Ghost of Mandalore tracked his target with his targeting computer, but refrained from firing his cannons. "When one is cornered and frightened, they tend to make mistakes which can prove to be fatal." Sedyn said to himself before the enemy pilot turned right into his path. A quick burst of cannon fire turned the enemy pilot and their craft into space dust. "Those who make mistakes in battle will die."
Pulling up and escaping the debris, the two Z-95's of the Espada Team formed up on his wing. "Espada 1 to Ghost Leader. I'm sending coordinates of several Imperial dropships attempting to board the disabled capital ships. I don't know the situation about the rebel fleet, but the men onboard the ships won't stand a chance against those reinforcements." Alberto called out.
"Copy that." Sedyn replied and pushed his craft to full power. Turing a complete one-hundred and eighty degrees, Sedyn and the Espada team spotted the Imperial Dropships. "Use your guns and blast those dropships! We can't let the others be overwhelmed!" he shouted, pulling the trigger and firing his ships cannons. The Espada Team followed suit but also fired off their missiles, practically obliterating the enemy dropships in a matter of seconds. "Master Kota, Master Secura, enemy dropships have been eliminated. You won't need to worry about enemy reinforcements."

"Copy that, Sedyn." Kota said into his commlink, deflecting imperial weapons fire and clearing a path for his men as they continued to move through the ship's corridors. Despite the ships having most of their systems disabled, the emergency power for the ship's remained online for the life-support and turbo-lifts while the weapons were disabled. Still, the troopers onboard the ships were fighting back with everything they had. A squad of Rebel marines was gunned down by a heavy weapons Stormtrooper while another squad was killed when a grenade landed behind them and exploded. More grenades were thrown towards several marines who were pulling back the wounded and would have meant death for them, had Kota not caught the grenades with the force and sent them back towards the naval troopers who threw them.
"Come on, men! We must take control of this ship! Push forward!" Kota shouted to his men before he charged ahead, blocking blaster fire with his green blade and cutting through any imperial trooper that got in his path.
"You heard the general, move like you got a purpose!" Johnson shouted, hefting his customized DLT-19 Heavy Blaster rifle and opened up on the Imperial forces. "Time to kick some imperial ass!"
(When the Dragon Swims Everything Ends starts)
With new found courage and resolve, the rebel forces pushed forwards after Johnson and Kota. Blaster fire from both directions was exchanged between the two factions, both sides taking losses. A Twi'lek caught a blaster bolt to the chest while an Imperial Marine was blown up by a well thrown grenade from a grenadier. Several Imperial officers were mowed down by rebels with rotary and heavy blasters while some of the rebel forces were taken down by imperial snipers guarding the turbo lifts to the other section of the ships. "Squads A and B, secure the engine room. Squads C and D, get to the communications center and establish contact with our ships. Squads E and F, secure the armory, docking bay and remaining hanger. The rest of us will secure the bridge!" Kota instructed to his men who all responded with a 'Yes Sir' and headed towards their objectives while he, Johnson and Jesden who was still wearing the clone armor he got from Rex on Remnant.
The same thing was happening on the other two disabled capital ships. Aayla led Bly, Ace and her detachment of marines, both clone, galactic and rebel marines through the corridors of the ship they had boarded, cutting and blasting their way through the imperial forces that were foolish enough to get in their way. Aayla sensed a lot of anger coming from many of the rebel forces, all of it directed towards the Empire.
One of the rebels, a native of Chandrila hated the Empire because an imperial officer raped and murdered their mother and sister when they were only four years old. A native from Ryloth was once a slave to an imperial Moff who tortured them daily before the Twi'lek killed their former 'master' before joining the Twi'lek resistance on their home planet.
Most of the other rebels had the same thing in common, the Empire had taken something from them or subjugated their people into slavery and forced to work on the Imperial's war machine or other projects. Aayla could understand their anger, but unlike them she had control of her anger despite the fact that she almost became a slave when she was only a child before she was brought to the Jedi order. "Commander Bly, have the marines split into squads and secure their objectives. Commander Ace, take your men and destroy any remaining imperial craft in the starboard hanger. The rest of us will move to the bridge!" she instructed the two clones, blocking the blaster bolts that would have killed her comrades.
"Yes Sir, general." The two clones replied and relayed her orders to the others who weren't too keen on following the orders of clones, despite the fact that they were being led by a Jedi. One of the rebels, a woman from Serrenno was about to voice their concern when Bly tackled them to the ground before he pulled out of his pistols and fired at an Imperial Marine that was about to fire their rocket launcher at their squad. The marine fell back to the ground but their finger pulled the trigger of the launcher, sending the rocket flying towards their former allies, killing many imperial soldiers in the resulting explosion. "I don't care if you don't trust us, Doss. We've got an objective to complete and we'll let our actions speak for us!" Bly shouted to the women, Menzi Doss who watched as Bly pushed forwards with the rest of the men, firing his DC-15A at several other imperial forces after holstering his pistol.
On the third and final ship, the turbo lift stopped on the bridge level where multiple troopers and marines waited with their blasters primed and ready. The moment the turbo-lift door opened; the imperial troopers opened up with their weapons at full-auto without even realizing that the turbo-lift was empty. The commanding officer ordered the men to cease fire just as several flashbangs were thrown from behind them by Commander's Stagger, Barcara and Jet while Serra and Zett leapt out of the maintance halls as rebel and clone marines along with troopers of the 332nd legion emerged from the other turbo lifts, catching the imperials off guard before a firefight broke out.
Serra and Zett slashed at the imperial troopers before the troopers on the bridge arrived and forced the two Jedi on the defensive. Blocking enemy weapons fire saved several of their forces from being killed, but that changed when several Purge troopers emerged from the bridge, firing their rocket launchers at the rebel boarders and killing some of them.
One of the rebel marines took aim with their ion rifle and fired at the Purge troopers, disrupting the systems of the droids followed by several clones who lobbed a couple of ECD grenades towards the imperial droids further disrupting their systems long enough for Barcara to place a bomb on one of the droids which Zett and Serra pushed towards the others before the commander detonated the bomb, taking the droids out in one fell swoop. Their momentum regained; the boarding party then proceeded to clear the bridge of the newest ship in the rebellions ever growing fleet. "Serra to Master Kota, we've secured the bridge of target three." Serra called in as the other marines called out that they had cleared
"This is Commander Bly. Target two has been secured." Bly reported.
"Jesden here. We encountered heavy resistance, but target one has been secured." Jesden called out from the bridge of the final target, just as the power to the three ships returned and all three newly captured imperial ships turned all of their guns towards the Imperial forces.

Back down on the surface, Galen and the others weren't having an easy time with their own objective. The moment they reached the city, they found the Naboo Rebels pinned down by imperial forces which consisted of TX-130T fighter tanks, AT-ST's and AT-MT's which were hammering the Naboo forces with missiles and concussion grenades. Galen deflected whatever missiles he could with his sabers and the force, but there were just too many of them and more rebel forces were killed in the explosions. "Where's that support!?" Galen shouted into his commlink, hacking an Imperial trooper across the chest with his saber.
"In position now!" Ruby responded as she, her team and the rest of team GARM emerged from the rooftop of a nearby building and began to rain blaster fire down on the imperial forces. Caught off guard by the surprise, the Imperial forces turned towards Remnant natives and began to shoot at them with every weapon they had with them only to be outflanked again by multiple rebel commando's who once they had a clear shot fired their HH-15 rocket launchers at the imperial walkers the moment they had a clear shot. A volley of rockets streaked towards the walkers, destroying several of them while some of the other walkers used their light blasters on the port side to shoot down some of the rockets.
Rebel and clone piloted gunships provided close-air-support while the armor they had dropped off moved through the city clearing sector by sector while trying not to cause collateral damage to the city and the people who lived there. Clones, rebels, Naboo and Gungan's shot and slashed at the imperial forces with blasters and Electropoles while those with shields provided cover for medics to bring the wounded back to friendly lines.
Ros climbed the side of one of the buildings and was ready to fire his Bowcaster when the Wookie had an idea. Quickly, he grabbed two rebel soldiers and leapt off the side of the building, landing on the top of one of the rearmost walkers, pried open the hatch and tossed out the two pilots before his allies started to use the Walker's firepower against the Imperial forces.
"Walker 57, what the hell are you doing!? Target the rebels!" one of the other walker pilots shouted over the commlink before Ros turned it off before he watched as multiple N-X Police cruisers streaked overhead and strafed numerous enemy vehicles with their cannons before pulling up from their attack run.
An atmospheric version of the famed N-1 Starfighter, the N-X Police Cruiser was designed as a patrol craft shortly before the Battle of Naboo. Painted blue instead of the traditional gold like the N-1, the N-X was designed to engage smaller and less deadly enemy fighters. While it lacked the traditional hyperdrive the N-1 had, it excelled in speed and maneuverability with its third engine module. For weapons, the Police Cruiser was armed with two laser cannons and a single proton torpedo launcher loaded with ten proton torpedoes. The fighter only required a single pilot and astromech droid.
The Naboo forces had over three dozen of these patrol fighters and had used them in hit and run attacks against imperial convoys and the occasional TIE squadron. Some of the pilots were even Gungan's who after months of training fought bravely by the side of their Naboo allies. One Gungan pilot turned their craft around sharply reading themselves for another attack run on the imperial ground forces as their allies on the ground drew nearer and nearer to the center of Theed. As they were about to fire their ships weapons, laser fire from behind them consumed the pilot and their fighter in a fireball as multiple TIE fighter squadrons arrived from a nearby base. "Hey Trigger, tell me you and the others have us covered in the air?" Galen asked, crushing an AT-MP like a soda can.
"As if you have to ask. We've got these imperial's covered, but you better find and disarm that bomb quickly. We need to wrap this battle up as quickly as possible." Rick answered from the otherside of the commlink, just as blue and red squadrons started to engage the newly arrived enemy fighters.
"Just make sure we don't get blasted!" Galen shouted, sending a massive blast of force energy towards multiple imperial forces that went flying like ragdolls. "Fordo, Rex. What's your status? Have you reached the center of the city!?"
"We're in the city center, but we've hit a snag! The Empire has a heavy walker guarding the city center and our weapons aren't even denting that four-legged monster!" Rex shouted as explosions echoed from the other side of the commlink, telling Galen everything he need to know.
"Hang on. We'll get there as soon as we can!" Galen assured the Clone War veteran before he relayed the message towards the other soldiers nearby who were now pushing the Empire back. Dashing forwards, Galen slashed through multiple Stormtroopers clearing a path for the rebel and clone forces as they continued push forwards. Blaster fire from the captured enemy walker behind them helped immensely as the imperial forces continued to take losses while trying to get in contact with the fleet to no avail.
Ruby and the others followed suit once they returned to street level, following Galen's lead as they pushed through imperial forces. Ruby fired short-controlled bursts from her custom-made rifle, killing several imperial troopers allowing Yang to throw a few grenades towards several dug in forces manning an E-Web blaster turret. The two half-sisters looked to each other the moment they spotted a group of incoming Jumptroopers coming from the Theed palace armed before they nodded to each other and fired their blasters at the incoming aerial troopers.
Arthur swung Excalibur, cutting through the armor of the imperial forces before a couple of rebel gunners behind him opened up with their rotary blasters mowing down several squads of imperial troopers while Rose and March picked off several other troopers. "Keep moving boys, lets show these bucket heads how much we rebel's kick ass and take names!" the rabbit Faunus shouted, lobbing a couple of grenades towards the imperial forces before he dashed forwards, whipped out his Mortar Launcher and fired a well-placed grenade through an AT-ST's 'eye' which exploded upon impact inside the walker, blowing up the head of the walker while the rest of the walker crashed down onto several imperial forces.
"Nice shot!" Rose complimented, firing her sniper rifle in rapid succession at multiple imperial troopers before they could even get off the ground. "But then again, I'd call it luck!" she added, loading a new pack into her sniper rifle before pulling out her A-280 and opened up on the Stormtroopers as more friendly forces pushed up with speeders, scout walkers and speeder tanks providing support fire with their cannons while the gunners operating the missile turrets on the AAC-1 targeted enemy aircraft.
Blaster fire from an E-Web set up in a nearby building forced Blake and Weiss to move from cover to cover as allied soldiers laid down suppressing fire on the gun. Both members of Team RWBY refused to take a grenade that one of the rebel soldiers offered to give them, knowing that if the building the blaster was set up in belonged to a family, they wouldn't take to kindly if their home was destroyed.
So, both of them decided to hit the turret from the inside, but needed to get to the entrance of the building, which was easier said than done. Multiple rebel soldiers had already been mowed down by the heavy repeating blaster, indicating that the other trooper was acting as a spotter for the troopers operating the turret.
"Covering fire, now!" Blake shouted to the soldiers nearby who opened up with their rifles, forcing the gunner and their spotter to focus on the rebel troopers allowing Blake and Weiss to run through the door of the building before they began to work on clearing their way towards the turret's location.
Hugging the wall, Weiss waited in cover as Blake opened up with her pistols, downing four troopers before she took cover and allowed Weiss to fire at the imperial forces while Blake tossed a flashbang towards the enemy troops, blinding them and allowing both of them to move forwards, blasting whatever Stormtroopers were still in their path before they finally destroying the heavy turret with their vibroswords. "That's one turret that won't be used ever again." Blake said before she and Weiss exited the building.
Meanwhile, Galen sliced a third AT-ST down the middle before reaching out with the Force, caught the missiles launched towards him by another AT-MT and sent them right back at the walker that launched them. The walker exploded leaving only behind bits of scrap metal, leaving the rebels with one less headache as he reached the city center and saw the massive twenty-meter tall All Terrain Armored Transport or AT-AT.
The massive walker turned towards several incoming rebel tanks and opened up with its heavy laser cannons, blowing the tanks to bits as rebel and clone forces took cover behind whatever they could find. Seeing this, Galen glared at the walker before he surged forwards dodging the volleys of cannon fire as he made his way closer and closer to the walker. Once he was close enough, he threw his sabers at the two front legs which sliced through the durasteel, causing the walker to tumble forwards and land with a crash. "Fordo! Toss me a grenade!" Galen shouted to the ARC-captain who tossed him a thermal detonator. After catching the grenade, Galen cut a hole in the walker's head before tossing the grenade into the opening, killing the pilots inside the walker.
"You sure you didn't fight in the Clone War? Cause that was something that… General Skywalker would have done." Rex said the moment Galen arrived at his location.
"Trust me, I wasn't." Galen answered, reaching out with the force and sending multiple imperial troopers flying as the rest of the rebel forces arrived. "Anyone who knows how to disarm a bomb, get yourselves here right now and disarm this thing! Everyone else, establish a perimeter and keep the imperials from retaking the city center! Snipers and heavy blasters in the buildings! Use the tanks for cover!" Galen shouted to everyone who did just as the young Jedi asked.
Back in the air, the five Remnant fighter pilots chased down a formation of enemy fighters with their laser cannons, sending the imperial fighter crashing down into the plains below the city. "Is this really the best the Empire can throw at us?" Neo questioned. No sooner had she asked that question, the droid copilots of Countess and Trigger picked up more fighters approaching from the west at bearing 320 and coming in fast. Most of the contacts were the basic TIE fighter, but twenty-four of them were prototypes.
After the loss of two-hundred and eighty-six TIE fighters during the Fei Hun campaign months ago, the Empire began to realize the superiority of the rebellions T-65 X-Wing and decided to create an interceptor version of the TIE to counter the X-Wing. The end result was the TIE Interceptor, which compared to the basic TIE fighter and the heavier TIE Bomber was faster and more maneuverable. The TIE interceptor was armed with four L-s9.3 laser cannons in the wingtips.
His face covered by his black flight helmet, Anton Kupchenko contacted the leaders of the Wizard and Sorcerer teams, Anthony Palmer and Joshua 'Lucan' Bristow who like him, were Clone Wars veterans and former fighter pilots of Kota's militia who traded in their Z-95's for imperial fighters. "Gault 1 to all units, begin the operation. Let the victor… be justice." He said to his pilots before the twenty-four interceptors broke off from the regulars.
"Looks like the Empire must have rolled out a prototype fighter for us. I think we should feel honored." Cipher said.
"What makes you say that, buddy?" Pixy asked.
"Because that means when we shoot them down, they'll see that it's the quality of the fighter and not the quantity." Cipher explained. "Galm 1 to Trigger, Countess and Mobius 1. Switch to basic weapons and missiles, lets show them what real pilots can do. Red Leader, Blue Leader, focus on the regular forces and keep them off our guys on the ground." He ordered before his copilot, a red and gold R3 astromech beeped in concern. "Don't worry, little guy. We'll survive this." He assured his copilot. "Galm Team, engage!" he ordered.
(Dogfight starts)
All five Remnant fighters formed an element and streaked after the Gault, Sorcerer and Wizard teams. "Galm 1 to all pilots, lets treat them to a little missile salvo!" Cipher instructed and armed his two short-range missiles. "Fox 2!" he shouted and fired his missiles. Neo, Rick, Pixy and Mobius 1 followed suit as ten short-range missiles streaked towards their targets. Most of the TIE interceptors broke off the moment their pilots spotted the missiles, but a three of them took a direct hit to the cockpit which exploded in a fireball. "Looks like we're dealing with some veteran pilots here. Stay on your toes people and take them down."
"Copy that, Cipher." Rick replied and picked out one of the remaining interceptors and pushed his plane to full afterburner. Keeping a close eye on his HUD, Rick closed the distance between him and the prototype fighter, his finger poised over the trigger. The moment his gunsight showed up, he pulled the trigger and unleashed a barrage of cannon fire that riddled the interceptor's titanium hull before the fighter exploded. "Splash one hostile." He reported as cannon fire streaked past his cockpit. R5 was quick to inform him that several regular TIE fighters had decided to make him their next target and weren't above ganging up on him. "Hang on, partner." He said to R5 and broke left.
Breaking the enemy fighters target lock on him, Rick dived down towards the plains with the enemy fighters on his tail who continued to fire their cannons at him. "Follow the leader boys!" he goaded the enemy pilots who took the bait. Weaving in and out between the volleys of enemy cannon fire while taking a hit every now and then, Trigger waited for the right moment before he slammed the brakes and allowed the fighters to overshot him which then crashed into the ground below after witnessing what the pilot had just done and not paying attention to their surroundings.
Neo launched a missile at one of the Gault team interceptors, turning it into a fireball before she banked right, circled around and fired another missile at another interceptor of the Gault team. "That makes six interceptors down!" she called out just KT beeped in alarm as several TIE fighters streaked towards her from the front and behind her. "Hang on girl, I think it's time I play chicken with these bastards!" she assured her copilot and pushed her planes engines to full power.
Her fighter's engines cried out as if they were in pain as Neo closed the distance between herself and the incoming imperial fighters before she pushed her controls down, diving for the ground as the fighters slammed into one another. "Are these guys really that desperate to get a kill that they ignore that they ignored the fact that they were going to slam into each other?" Neo asked. Before she could get an answer, another TIE interceptor this one belonging to the Wizard team got behind her six o'clock and opened up with her cannons. "Guess that answers my question for the regulars, but these spec ops guys are really pissing me off! Let's try one of those tricks I picked up from Roman." She said to herself and pulled a sharp banking one-hundred and eighty-degree turn after gaining some distance from the enemy craft.
Her fingers pulled the trigger as her twin cannons roared to life riddling the enemy craft with bullets while her opponent's cannon fire reduced her shields by thirty percent before the enemy craft exploded, forcing her to pull up and avoid the debris before turning and chasing after a couple of TIE fighters.
"For veterans of the Clone Wars, these guys don't seem to look out for one another. Does the Empire tell their pilots to focus on the mission and not help out their squadron mates or something?" Dante asked, firing four XMAA's which downed four basic TIE fighters in one salvo.
"Didn't you read the intel about the Imperial pilots? These pilots are trained to put the needs of the Empire above their own lives. They even view things such as life-support and shields as cowardice!" Cipher replied gruffly from the other side the commlink. "You'd think some of them would have a brain and realize that they are just doing the work that terrorists would do." He added.
"Another reason to hate them." Dante agreed, turning after a pair of Wizard team interceptors. "Fox 2!" He called out, launching a pair of missiles at one interceptor before he pursued the second enemy fighter, moving into gun range. "These things are meant to be superior in space but in the air…" he said to himself before he pulled the trigger and unleashed a salvo of bullets at the interceptor which exploded seconds later. "Our craft have the advantage in speed!" he added going after another group of enemy fighters and once again launching a volley of XMAA's.
Four explosions lit up the sky as Cipher and Pixy chased down four of the interceptors from the Sorcerer, both of them taking out two with a single missile before they crisscrossed each other's flight path and downed the other two with their guns. "These bastards might be the called the best of the best, but they can't compete with our skills!" Larry stated, taking count of the remaining enemy interceptors. "We've got only ten of these guys left. Listen up people, pick out two enemy fighters and take them down. We need to get back to the city!" he called out.
"Roger!" the others all replied and broke off after the targets they selected.
Pixy raked one of his targets with his guns while firing a missile at his last target while Cipher used his cannons to destroy his targets, one of which was Palmer whose fighter crashed into the ground below before exploding in a ball of fire.
Dante waited for the right moment before he launched a pair of missiles at both his targets sending the last two members of the Wizard Team, including their leader Bristow. "Gault Team is the only squadron left. Trigger, Countess take them down, we'll head back to the city!" Dante called out, turning his craft in the direction of the city followed by the Galm Team.
"Copy that!" Neo responded, banking left and attacking her targets. Her twin cannons roared like monsters as 20mm rounds slammed into one of the enemy fighters which barreled out of control and into their wing-man who didn't even have a chance to react before both of them were consumed by a fireball. "Two targets left!" she called out.
"I see them!" Trigger replied, launching a missile at one of the remaining fighters, destroying it before he moved onto Kupchenko's tail. The veteran pilot tried using a series of evasive maneuvers, hoping that his opponent would miss their target, but Trigger didn't even fire once until he was sure that his rounds would hit the target. Finally, Kupchenko flew right into his line of fire and released a burst of cannon rounds, riddling his target with holes as the enemy craft started to trail smoke. "Last one is going down!" he called out.
Kupchenko struggled to maintain control of his craft but he soon realized that there was nothing he could do, except contact the pilot who shot him. "Tell me… who are you?" he said weakly.
"They call me Trigger, but I'm just someone who's only trying to find his sister." Rick replied, veering away from the fighter as its pilot laughed before crashing into the ground below. "I'll find you, Amber. No matter what it takes." He said to himself before heading back to Theed.
(End song)
Back above the planet, Sutherland looked around in horror as his fleet was being destroyed left and right. "Those damn rebels! They've ruined everything! The Emperor and Tarkin will kill me for my failure!" the captain fumed from the inside of his personal shuttle that was about to exit the combat zone and make the jump to hyperspace. "They will rue the day they crossed my path! I will have my revenge!" he seethed with fury.
Just seconds before his shuttle was about to jump into hyperspace a barrage of laser fire slammed into the craft, disabling its engines. "No, I won't die here! I won't die…" he said before another barrage of cannon fire finished off the shuttle, taking the captain and all those onboard with him. The source of the cannon fire came from Sedyn's V-Wing which quickly returned to one of the Venators.
On the surface, the Imperial forces were quick to retreat as rebel and clone forces cheered after stopping the Empire from detonating the bomb, which Galen threw into orbit allowing one of the newly captured rebel capital ships destroyed with a well-placed shot from one of its many point-defense cannons, exploding harmlessly in the vacuum of space.
The Remnant natives now finally breathed a sigh of relief as they all fell to the ground exhausted by what they had just accomplished. Together, with the efforts of the rebels and clones they showed the galaxy that the Empire could be defeated. But while this was only one battle, the war was only just beginning.
And I have finished my chapter. Nothing else to say but please read, review and cast your vote on my poll and I'll see you all next time when Galen unlocks his semblance.
