And I am back with another chapter of Remnant Unleashed. It seems that many people liked how I brought in Yoda last chapter. For those of you wondering, I'll try to have him appear again later on in the story, maybe even before I reach the Empire Strikes Back.
Anyway, let's get onto the reviews.
Monster King: Thanks.
54godamora: Thank you. I had planned on bringing in Yoda well in advance, seeing as he appeared in the Force Unleashed 2 when Starkiller, the clone went to Dagobah. Now, if and when I kill Tyrian, who should take his place?
Jack Smith1: Thanks. I've been reading what you have for Call of RWBY and I am liking what I am seeing so far. Still hoping to see a Morph-Gun like weapon soon, cause in my opinion it's better to have a weapon that can be used in different combat ranges. Trust me when I say, that Commander Cody will get a bit more action in the future.
Hamm1999: I'm well aware that the jedi, Sha'Gi was based on Shaggy from Scooby Doo, but he was crushed to death by Grievous and there is no coming back from that. Now in regards to the Ranger from Quake, I've told you already I haven't played any of the Quake games so I don't think that's going to happen. But the BFG like weapon you mentioned in one review, that will happen.
Luffy L Deathwalker: Yes, yes, yes and yes. But there will be a few surprises in store during those chapters. You'll just have to wait and see.
42: Nope, Clone Assassins aren't going to appear.
Spartan-626: Thank you. I figured if Pyrrha was going to be working the rebellion and on the off chance, fight Vader she'll need a lightsaber and since no one was using Qui-Gon's lightsaber, it only seemed right. Like I had said before, I planned on bringing in Yoda the same way as he appeared in the Force Unleashed 2. I think I already established the fact that Summer is still alive. Now, until I see her death in the show, I am still convinced that Salem lied to Ruby about her mother's death and that Summer is alive.
Robbler: I'm not big into the harem genre of stories, especially the ones that show more lemon scenes than action. Now, when it comes to harems that involve girls fighting alongside a guy, that's a different matter, so long as it doesn't include a lot of lemon scenes. I still don't like Harem's in general, one girl for one guy, that's my motto. Now in regards to Galen being powerful, I agree I shouldn't tone down his power and I am still working on character development for various characters in the stories I write. I wasn't trying to set myself up for criticism by how I write my stories, but I can respect your words. I can assure you that as the story continues, there will be a lot of action and just so you know, it's ninety-nine percent legends with one percent canon in terms of a couple of characters.
Alright, let's get to the story. Disclaimers are the same as before, please enjoy. And for those of you who know about World War 2 ships you'll be seeing a few familiar names.
Chapter 43: The Mighty 8th
Five months had passed since the victory against the Empire over Remnant. During that period of time, the rebellion had grown into a much larger organization than many imperials had thought. Targeting the enemy war machine had crippled the Empire's production of ships, weapons and armor had boosted the morale of the rebel forces and hundreds of new recruits ranging from local military forces and clandestine rebel cells to civilians, former slaves and even a couple of mercenary groups.
The Galm and Garuda teams earned a reputation for hitting Imperial prisoner convoys with devastating results and rescuing various political and rebel prisoners being transported designated work and slave camps on outer rim planets such as Kessel. Imperial propaganda claimed that both teams had attacked convoys of relief supplies for several outer rim worlds that were suffering from food shortages or unarmed civilian transports in an effort to turn the galaxy against the rebellion. This plan failed as more people were flocking to the rebellion.
For Pyrrha, she assigned to the special forces of the rebel army after she single-handedly took down an entire platoon of imperial troops on Felucia with only a sniper rifle, followed by destroying an imperial base where the empire had stored a poisonous biological agent, they planned to release into the waters of rebel supporter planets, once they had tested this agent on the people of Felucia. Thankfully, Pyrrha was able to destroy the agent before it could be shipped off world. She was even given command of her own unit, called the Hellfighters which was comprised of many ex-White Fang members such as Tukson and many an ex-imperial slave.
As for Galen, his powers continued to grow with every battle he partook in especially when he led an assault on Alozc III where the rebellion had discovered that the Empire had secretly enslaved the Talz and forced them to work to death in the mines they had established on the planet, despite the efforts of an imperial by the name of Pter Thanas to keep the Talz fed, was one of the few imperials that didn't use fear as a motivator and who had a fascination with the Jedi Order, before it was wiped out. In fact, many of the rebels believed that it was Thanas who supplied the rebels with the intel about the Alozc III slavery issue.
As rebel victories mounted, a new issue arose for the rebellion: The lack of much needed supplies such as ammunition, food and medical supplies. Rebel convoys had been dispatched to all active rebel bases and the various battlegroups dispatched across the galaxy, but the convoys came under attack Interdictor cruisers that somehow managed to gain the location of the convoys and pulled them out of hyperspace with their gravity well projectors and destroyed the convoys without even giving the crews the chance to surrender.
The rebels were still able to get some of their much-needed supplies thanks to the blockade runners in the rebel fleet, but they weren't able to fulfill the supply needs of all of their forces across the galaxy. Even the assistance of a couple of smugglers couldn't help with the demand for supplies, but the rebels were able to salvage a couple of derelicts and lightly damaged Venator's found adrift deep in the outer rim which were just what they needed.
With their assaults against the Empire hampered, the rebels could only hope that their supply issue would be resolved soon, especially with the knowledge that the empire was distributing considerable resources from the imperial Departments of System Exploration and Public Works to an unknown destination in the outer rim. What they were building was beyond anyone's guess, but knowing the Empire it was something deadly.
As the issue with supplies began to grow worse by the weeks, deep in the Abregado System, several parsecs away from Abregado-rae aboard the Venator called the Enterprise, Galen and Pyrrha under the supervision of Kota and Plo sparred with one another as a part of Pyrrha's lightsaber training. Though Pyrrha was skilled with her old weapon, Milo' which was both a sword, javelin and rifle, but a lightsaber was something completely knew to her and while her skills were still improving, the sparring was conducted with training lightsabers that were acquired from Hondo.
Their training lightsabers clashed as Pyrrha and Galen fought like it was the Vytal Festival. Pyrrha went in for a slash at Galen's feet which he dodged before he swung his lightsaber at Pyrrha in his preferred reverse-grip style putting Pyrrha on the defensive. Pyrrha then went in for the attack, using the Makashi style of lightsaber combat which was very similar to her traditional style of sword-combat and it's a form that helps resist force-based attacks.
Both yellow blades crackled as they clashed with one another again and again, as Plo, Kota and Galen noticed that Pyrrha's skills in lightsaber combat had greatly improved over the last few months, becoming almost as skilled as Count Dooku was before his death.
A series of light cuts from Pyrrha managed to hit Galen a few times, but thankfully the training lightsabers weren't able to kill or dismember Galen, though it did give him a few bruises and minor burns that could be easily healed with help from the force. Galen managed to hit Pyrrha a couple of times, giving her a couple of bruises and burns of her own before he disarmed her of her training saber and ending the match.
"Impressive, Pyrrha. Your skills in Form II have improved greatly from all the training. With a bit more training, you'll become a greater swordswoman then you were before." Plo stated as he walked towards the two combatants, using the force to heal the bruises and cuts both of them had. "However, you must allow your aggression and anger to control your actions in battle, otherwise you will end up like many other jedi who have fallen to the dark side by giving into their negative emotions."
"Pyrrha isn't a Jedi," Galen reminded before he turned to Pyrrha. "But they have a point. If you were to return to Remnant and allowed those emotions to control you, then you would draw the Grimm towards you and the people you are trying to protect. Cinder might even take the advantage and kill you." He added. "So, use your positive emotions and the desire to protect those you care about when you fight."
"Thank you both. It means a lot to me that you all helped me out with my training. I should be able to protect myself from those with lightsabers now, but like you said I still have a lot more to learn." Pyrrha replied with a smile. She was about to say more, but a comm officer raced into the hanger.
"Generals… we've… picked up… a transmission… from an old… medical station…" the officer panted as astromech droid rolled up and played the transmission.
"This is CT-9084 to any rebel ships in the vicinity of the Kaliida Nebula! We're under attack by a mercenary fleet! They're after the information we've acquired on an imperial target! Blast it! They've sent out boarding craft! We need immediate assistance! I say again, we need immediate..."
"It has to be one of those surviving anti-troopers! Vader mentioned that Kaminoan's created several legions of clone troopers to fight the empire shortly after the Clone War ended. A lot of them were killed when the Empire took control of Kamino, but some of them must have made it off world and went into hiding. They weren't loyal to the emperor, so we don't need to worry about them having inhibitor chips in their heads and if they've gotten their hands on a medical station, they should have some medical supplies." Galen surmised.
"My thoughts exactly." Kota agreed before he spoke to the entire fleet from the intercom and ordered the ships to make ready for the jump to lightspeed as the pilots and soldiers readied themselves for combat.
Flight crews and pilots scrambled as the modified fighter aircraft from Remnant were loaded and fueled up. If one were to ask a member of the rebellion about the sight of fighting alongside those who flew fighter jets, they would say those pilots would be shot down in seconds, that is if their aircraft weren't modified for space combat.
Ranging from F5's to the four S37's of Team SDOW and the aircraft of the Galm and Garuda teams, all of the aircraft from Remnant were modified with hybrid weaponry, shielding, hyperdrives and advanced life-support systems found in fighters such as X-Wings, ARC-170's and both versions of the Y-Wing. The only problem was that most pilots were as many of the experienced pilots said 'wet-behind the ears' when it came to combat.
Nevertheless, the pilots from Remnant were determined to give it to those who were allied with the Empire. Ray ran through the final checks of his F14 before pulling out a locket that belonged to his late sister and opened it. A picture of him, Amber, Neo and their father smiling at a fair when they were still children was held inside and the mere sight of the picture brought a tear to his eye. "Cinder will pay for taking the life of my sister. But I will not allow myself to become like her, a cold-blooded murderer." He said to himself before putting his helmet on.
Glancing over to the breath beside him, he watched as Neo climbed into the cockpit of her own fighter giving her brother a two-finger salute as she powered up her own fighter before it was locked into the catapult installed on the ship for the modified fighter jets.
Meanwhile, in the Kaliida Nebula, the medical station under the control of the anti-imperial clone troopers was getting slammed by turbo laser fire as Belbullab-22, Dianoga-class, Morning Star and Saboath fighters duked it out with anti-trooper ARC-170's and V-Wings as the damaged Venator's belonging to the anti-troopers unleashed a barrage of their own turbo laser fire against the Saboath frigates while multiple modified Droch-class boarding craft latched onto both the cruisers and medical station, allowing the mercenary troops to gain entry to the ships and station, catching the anti-troopers off guard as they unleashed a hail of blaster fire, killing several troopers.
"Flint! We've got boarders on the Redeemer II! They're heading for the bridge! We need reinforcements!" one of the Rail-Arc Troopers shouted before unleashing a barrage of fire from their chaingun, cutting down several of the mercenary forces which comprised primarily of humans wearing leather armor while others were Trandoshan, Twi'lek, Rodian, Zabrak and Mirialan.
"I hear you Roadblock! But I've got my hands full as well! We've got hostiles in the medical station as well! They're heavily armed and packing slug-throwers! We can't get to you!" Flint shouted over the commlink, confirming his situation to his brother Roadblock who along with his squad started to fall back towards the bridge of the venator. "Hold the line! Reinforcements are inbound! If we're lucky, they'll have a Jedi with them!"
"Let's hope you're right!" Roadblock replied as several of his brothers were gunned down. Roadblock was quick to return the favor, mowing down the mercenary soldiers as several more of his brothers arrived and began to back him up.
All across the other Venators and the medical station itself, the Anti-Troopers and Rail Arc-Troopers fought valiantly against the overwhelming mercenary army that continued to push the troopers further and further back as the dogfight in space raged on.
Onboard one of the Saboath Destroyers, the leader of the mercenary army smirked as the ships six capital ship turrets fired at the station, slamming into its shields before they finally gave out. The blasts invertedly killed many of the mercenary pilots along with several clone pilots, but the leader didn't care. All of this was part of the assignment given to him by the empire.
Jacealon Malemarc, leader of the mercenary company called Blackwater wasn't one to care about friendly fire. Once a member of the famed Saboath Squadron before it was disbanded with the death of his teacher, Captain Cavik Toth at the beginning of the Clone War, he traveled the galaxy gaining many tactical and combat skills, leading him to create Blackwater with the remaining vessels of Saboath Squadron and other members of the squadron, reinforcing their numbers with the most brutal and blood-thirsty mercenaries the galaxy had ever known. When the Empire came into power, he made a contract with several regional governors to eliminate any potential groups that would take up arms against the empire and their supporters.
Over the years, dozens of small rebel armies and their supporters were killed across the galaxy with imperial propaganda filling the minds of people with fear that these groups were much larger than expected and were comprised of those who only wanted to kill people. It wasn't just potential rebels that were killed in these attacks, to further help with the propaganda Blackwater killed hundreds of innocent men, women and children who weren't even affiliated with the groups. In fact, those that murdered the innocent people actually enjoyed it.
As their power grew, more and more people came to join this mercenary group mostly for the opportunity to kill and fulfill their 'other' desires with each mission they undertook, acquiring more money which was used to buy more ships and of course to pay their members.
Jacealon watched as the turrets of one of the docked Venators shut down, allowing several Saboath Defenders to streak towards the turbo laser batteries, firing a salvo of concussion missiles. The point-defense cannons of the Venator downed several of the missiles before they could hit the turrets and downing a few fighters, but the efforts of the turret gunners were in vain as the turbo laser batteries were destroyed, along with several point-defense turrets and those operating the turrets.
A smile appeared on his face, but the smile disappeared when one of the bridge officers reported that a fleet was dropping out of hyperspace. Too his delight, the new arrivals were also Venators which he believed would be easy to destroy.
The Venators that had arrived included the Enterprise, along with the Laffey, Belfast, Hornet, Yorktown, Repulse and Hamman, all of which were named after legendary warships that sailed the seas of Remnant battling the Grimm. Each of these Venators were once derelict and refurbished by the efforts of dozens of former Kuat Drive Yard employees and former White Fang members who knew a thing or two about weapons and tools.
Each of these ships, like the actual Venator had strong deflector shields, ten drive engines, class 1 hyperdrive, eight DBY-827 heavy turbo laser turrets, two medium turbo laser cannons, sixty-four point-defense turrets and four heavy proton torpedo tubes, but compared to the original model these vessels were armed with a powerful rail-gun using blueprints discreetly given to the rebellion from several Atlas pilots who joined the rebellion, but weren't ready for combat yet.
From the bridge of the Enterprise, Halberton gave the order to launch the fighters while the turret operators readied the turbo-laser batteries and loaded the torpedo tubes. On que, the modified Remnant fighters were catapulted into the blackness of space, followed by the same modified Jedi Starfighter brought back from Yavin 4 with Galen in the cockpit of the fighter taking the lead.
"All pilots, engage those enemy fighters and cover the gunships as they board the friendly cruisers and assist those troopers. Master Plo, have your squadron cover the Y-Wings and hit the enemy cruisers, those capital ship turrets are ripping into our allies and they can't last much longer!" he exclaimed as R4 double checked the fighter's systems for any signs of errors or bugs.
His systems soon read green across the board as the Garuda and Galm Teams formed up alongside Starkiller as the mercenary fighters turned their attention to the new arrivals. The pilots of the Remnant fighter aircraft formed up into their respective squadrons as they drew nearer and nearer to the swarm of enemy fighters.
(Rendezvous starts)
Both rebel, clone and merc fighters soon began to duke it out with one another once they were in attack range. "Galm Team! Garuda Team! Form up with Starkiller and hit those fighters heading for the medical station! That station has no weapons to defend itself! Protect the gunships as they make their way to the station and ships! We need to reinforce those troopers before they lose anymore men!" Halberton shouted through the commlink.
A flight of six Longswords veered towards an incoming group of Belbullab-22 Starfighters launching a salvo of XMA6's towards the mercenary fighters, turning the merc fighters into space dust. The Longswords then switched to their guns and unleashed a barrage of gunfire at several Morningstar's, ripping through their shields before several well-placed shots ended the lives of the mercenary pilots.
The Longsword pilots were soon sent onto the defensive when several Saboath Defenders launched a volley of concussion missiles at the pilots. Two of them Longswords were destroyed as the four others broke off into separate directions, zig-zagging through laser fire to avoid getting shot down. Another Longsword was turned into space dust as the Morning Star that was chasing was downed by cannon fire from Bartlett who along with Mickey, PJ and Team SDOW covered the bombers as they neared one of the enemy ships and dropped their payloads.
The seven pilots were quick to form an element, locking onto the enemy fighters with several of their XLAA's and XMAA's at the enemy. Several of their missiles slammed into the merc fighters while the rest missed their targets but did end up hitting the enemy ships, if only to damage their shields slightly. "Damn it! These guys are more experienced than those with the White Fang or Empire!" Bartlett cursed an allied F15 spiraled out of control and slammed into the turbo laser cannon of one of the anti-trooper Venators, knocking the gun out of commission.
Just seconds later, half a dozen more Saboath ships dropped out of hyperspace immediately opening up with their capital ship turrets, destroying one of the Anti-Trooper venators docked at the station. The wreckage of the ship just narrowly missed several of the friendly gunships heading towards it before they were forced towards another of the docked ships as a squadron of friendly bombers were downed by the new arrivals, becoming space dust as well. "These bastards are really starting to piss me off." Ray cursed, downing a Belbullab-22 with his cannon as Neo fired a missile towards another enemy craft.
The Galm team followed suit with their own kills of two Saboath fighters. "Galm 1 to Garuda 1, those capital ship turrets are a real threat to our ships, we need to take them out!" Cipher called out, switching to his laser cannons before R3 brought up a display of the capital ship turrets of the Saboath Destroyers as Pixy, Ray, Neo and Galen formed up on his wing and streaked towards one of the enemy ships. When they were within range, the five pilots pulled the triggers and strafed the capital ship turrets of the lead enemy Destroyer, ripping through their armor like it was tissue paper.
The five fighters pulled up from their run only to be bracketed by anti-fighter turrets, dropping their shields down into critical status. To make matters worse, multiple Belbullab-24 strike bombers once used by the CIS were making a bombing run on the station and ships. "Galm Team! Garuda Team! Focus on the cap turrets! I'll go after the bombers! If those cap turrets aren't taken out, none of us will be getting out of this alive!" Galen instructed.
All four Remnant pilots immediately broke formation and gained some distance from the ongoing battle as turbo laser fire and proton bombs turned several enemy destroyers into space dust as Galen raced through the battlefield heading straight for the enemy bombers. Approaching the bombers from behind, Galen launched all sixteen of his concussion missiles in rapid succession, destroying the enemy bombers which in turn confirmed to the pilots that the Demon Lord had arrived. With a large bounty on his head, Galen soon found himself under attack by dozens of mercenary pilots hoping to collect the bounty.
Multiple Dianoga and Saboath fighters soon got on his tail and began to pepper Galen with cannon fire as the Remnant cruisers launched several torpedoes towards the enemy destroyers and frigates, destroying several of them in massive explosions. Multiple friendly bombers also contributed by dropping their payloads on the ships that had their capital ship turrets destroyed, destroying them as well.
Gritting his teeth, Jacealon left the bridge in anger and headed to the hanger where he boarded his customized Porax-38 fighter and rocketed out of the hanger just as his command ship exploded as the reactor went critical. Narrowing his eyes and turning towards Galen's fighter, Jacealon turned towards the Demon Lord ready for a battle.
An eighth enemy fighter was turned into space dust by the four cannons of Galen's fighter before he spotted Jacealon's fighter heading straight towards him and firing its twin-linked laser cannons at Galen, forcing the Jedi to execute a series of random and evasive maneuvers to avoid getting killed. "You're a skilled pilot, Demon Lord. But your skills are nothing compared to mine." Jacealon complimented over the commlink as he continued to chase Galen down, launching all eight of his fighters' missiles towards Galen.
"R4! Increase power to engines! We've got to outrun those missiles!" Galen instructed his copilot who did as they were told as the missiles continued to track Galen's customized Starfighter, zig-zagging and breaking the missile lock on him as the missiles streaked past his cockpit and into the blackness of space. "You're not a real ace, you're just a cold-blooded murderer who kills anyone for the right price. All those innocent lives you and your men have killed, was it all just for money of because you love to kill!?" Galen demanded.
His opponent didn't respond, giving Galen the chance, he needed to pull a sharp one-hundred and eighty turn and charged directly towards the modified Utapaun fighter, firing his four laser cannons at the enemy fighter as did the pilot of the Pau'an fighter. The shields on both fighters dropped rapidly as Jacealon became overconfident as his engines screamed, unfortunately for the merc pilot his overconfidence became his own undoing as his shields failed and the systems of his fighter began to explode all around him. "Damn you, Demon Lord." He muttered before his life flashed before his eyes as the flames of hell swallowed him and his fighter.
(End song)
Diving down to avoid hitting the debris from his dead opponent, Galen turned his craft towards the Venator designated Redeemer II and quickly landed in the main hanger. Leaping out of the cockpit before his ship even touched down, an Anti-Trooper by the name of Gung-Ho filled him in on the situation.
Kota's forces were able to push the merc forces off the ships, but the forces in the medical station weren't letting up and keeping them from reinforcing their brothers onboard the station. Galen soon dashed off to where the boarders had setup several auto-turrets keeping the defenders from moving onto the station. When he reached the starboard airlock, he found several anti-troopers and rebel marines lying dead on the ground while the others, including Pyrrha were taking cover along the corridor from enemy fire.
"Get ready to move on my mark! I'll clear you a path!" Galen shouted, reaching for his lightsabers and igniting their blue blades. The troopers and marines watched as Galen dashed through the turret fire, slashing through the merc forces and using the force to send them flying back into others.
One merc armed with a heavy repeating blaster attempted to gun Galen down but Galen quickly cut them down with a slash across the torso, followed by a torrent of lightning towards several more enemies, electrocuting them. A couple of Trandoshan Elites unleashed a barrage of disintegrating plasma cartridges towards the rebel and Anti-Troopers that were moving up, killing several of them before they themselves were killed after Galen sliced their weapons in half along with both their arms.
Channeling the force into his hands, Galen unleashed a powerful blast that sent the enemy combatants flying backwards before he threw both his lightsabers towards several auto-turrets, slicing them in half. The mere sight of Galen's power brought fear into the eyes of the mercenary soldiers who either started to fall back towards the airlock or let their fear take control of them and tried to fight back, only to be killed by Galen, Pyrrha, the anti-troopers and rebel marines. With their momentum regained, the soldiers followed Galen towards the airlock, cutting down all those who got in their way. The last of the boarders fell to the deck dead as one of the anti-trooper technicians got to work on reopening the airlock which the enemy had sealed off.
It took all of about thirty seconds for the technician to slice the controls of the airlock and allowed them entry to the medical station. One of the marines, a sergeant from Alderaan ordered the wounded to stay back on the Redeemer II while the rest were to board the medical station and clear it of all hostiles. Gung-Ho, the trooper that Galen met in the hanger was more than ready for a fight as were his brothers Thunder, Barbecue, Dusty, Stealer, Grunt and Clutch who requested they take point.
It was the more logical choice since they knew the layout of the medical station, but Galen sensed something was off and quickly dashed through the airlock and onto the medical station ahead of the troopers and marines. Focused solely on the disturbance he sensed, Galen did not falter or slow down as he made his way through the medical station, killing any mercenary soldier that got in his way without any mercy.
As he got closer and closer to one of the medical bays, he spotted something crawling on the ceiling with an ominous yellow glow before it leapt down and tried to stab him, much like the creatures from that movie he and Ruby watched during the two weeks after the first semester, but this thing was a droid with razor sharp talons. Galen rolled out of the way before slashing the droid apart with his sabers, but more of the droids appeared, charging towards him.
Calling upon the force, Galen charged towards the droids slashing through them before unleashing a powerful shockwave that ripped through the droids as if they were made of tissue paper. More droids lunged at Galen but he slashed through them without any hesitation, he did however miss a few of them but lucky for him, Pyrrha and the boarding party arrived and blasted them before they could even get close to them. "You guys took your sweet time." Galen chuckled.
"You really shouldn't go running off into danger like that." Pyrrha chastised, nailing one of the droids with a precise shot from her blaster rifle. "How would Ruby feel if you ran off and got killed?"
"That's not going to happen. I'm not going to die out here in space and I will see Ruby again." Galen replied, reaching out with the force and pulled several empty crates towards him which levitated in the air, blocking the blaster bolts from several merc troopers that just arrived.
The rebel marines, anti-troopers and Pyrrha quickly opened fire on the enemy exchanging blaster fire with their attackers while Galen began to deflect blaster fire back at the enemy. A couple of troopers and marines fell to enemy blaster fire while several mercenary soldiers were pushed back into the wall by a blast from Galen.
"Gung-Ho! Take the men and get to the bridge! Galen and I will hold them off!" Pyrrha shouted, popping out of cover and exchanging fire with the enemy. Gung-Ho was quick to protest, but knew that the lives of his men and the rebels also had priority and did as he was instructed. While the others headed for the bridge, Pyrrha threw down her empty blaster rifle but instead of drawing her twin pistols, she drew her lightsaber and ignited its bright green blade, standing alongside Galen. "I know, I'm not ready to face opponents with a lightsaber, but you'll need all the help you can get against these individuals." She stated.
"Alright then, stay close to me and leave the blocking to me." Galen replied, blocking several blaster bolts away from the two of them just as several mercenaries with Vibro-Swords charged towards them. "Ok, these guys you can take on since they aren't dark Jedi or connected to the force."
Pyrrha didn't need any more motivation than that as she raised her saber to block a Vibro-Sword before parrying her opponents' blade and slashing them across the chest. More sword wielding mercenaries charged towards her, but by using her superior sword skills she made quick work of her opponents. She spotted a chance to use her semblance, but she remembered that semblances and Aura's weren't as effective away from Remnant something that Galen told her.
A swing from a mercenary's vibro-ax nearly sliced her right in half had she not rolled out of the way. Another swing from the merc's ax forced her to dodge again and it was right then she decided to use her semblance. Dodging a third swing from ax, Pyrrha waited for her opponent to swing their massive weapon again, using her semblance and manipulated the metal of the weapon, causing the ax wielder to miss her before she cut them down. "I must be careful with my semblance; I don't want to attract too much attention to myself or the rebellion." She said to herself before she sheathed her lightsaber, pulled out her pistols and opened fire.
As for Galen, he also made quick work of his own opponents who lost both their lives and some limbs. As he cut down a Weequay merc, R4 beeped in alarm over his commlink. "Pyrrha! We need to wrap this up! The Empire is on its way!" he shouted with urgency, throwing his sabers and bisecting a couple of mercs, unleashing a powerful blast of lightning from his fingertips that disintegrated several mercs into ash.
"General Kota just contacted me! This should be the last of the boarders! Once we eliminate them, we need to evacuate the station quickly!" she shouted back, downing several enemies with her pistols before she holstered them, picked up her blaster rifle, slung it over her shoulder and grabbed a fallen blaster pistol from a dead Weequay merc. Dashing back to the entrance to the corridor and taking cover behind one of the empty crates, Pyrrha picked her shots and fired back at the remaining mercs while Galen continued to eviscerate the mercenaries until an energy charge imploded beside him, creating a five-meter blast radius.
"Watch it! They've got concussion rifles!" Galen warned, rolling out of the way as another concussive blast imploded behind them, just barely missing Pyrrha. More merc's arrive, including several Trandoshan Heavy Assault Mercenaries with LS-150's arrived and opened up on the two, forcing them on the defensive and keeping Pyrrha pinned down.
Reaching out with the force, Galen pulled a fallen DL-44 blaster pistol from one of the dead enemy mercenaries to him as he leapt over behind one of the empty crates, sheathing his sabers and holding the blaster in his hand. "Safety off, steady grip, aim and fire." Galen said to himself, remembering when he held that 'gun' at the Vytal Festival.
Taking aim with his new blaster, Galen fired a shot at one of the merc's armed with a concussion rifle, hitting them right in the head before he fired a couple more shots, taking down a couple more enemies but the more armored Trandoshan elites continued to move up and kept both individuals on the defensive. He fired five more shots when the enemies were reloading their weapons, but used up the last of the blasters power pack. "Damn it! We need something better than pistols!" he shouted, tossing the empty blaster at one of the mercenaries, hitting them in the head.
Bringing his lightsabers back into his hands and igniting their blue blades, Galen was about to charge at the enemy when they started to take fire from behind. Much to their relief, several Rebel and Clone marines, were able to flank the enemy and got the drop on them, unleashing a deadly volley of blaster fire that forced the enemy to turn their attention to the enemy behind them.
This allowed Galen to attack the enemy from the rear, cutting them down before they could even react while Pyrrha kept firing at the enemy. Cutting down mercenary after mercenary, Galen dashed his way through the group of hostiles before the last one finally fell to the ground, dead. "Let's move it! We've got to get out of here!" Flint shouted, leveling his blaster rifle.
The anti-troopers and rail-class arc troopers along with the rebel forces were quick to board the docked Venators before they detached from the medical station, their engines having been hastily repaired by rebel and clone engineers, turning away from the medical station before jumping into hyperspace after calling back their fighters.
Seconds after they left, an imperial fleet arrived and completely obliterated both the medical station and the rest of the Blackwater forces, the latter for their failure.
As for the anti-troopers and rebels, Flint made his way to the bridge of the Enterprise where Galen, Pyrrha, Plo, Halberton and Kota were waiting for him. "On behalf of my men, I want to thank you all for helping me and my brothers escape the empire. I only wish more of us could have made it out of this battle alive, but there isn't anything we can do. This is war after all." Flint said sadly.
"We'll make sure that their sacrifice isn't in vain, Lieutenant." Kota replied sympathetically, completely surprising Flint who like the rest of his men were aware of Kota's former distrust of clones. "Now, what is this intel on an imperial target you mentioned?" he asked.
"It's Kamino." Flint replied.
And done. Sorry for the delay with this chapter. I was… well I was dealing with personal issues for a while now along with writer's block for this chapter. I won't go into what those issues are, but I will tell you all that I have decided to live my life in memory of my late Grandfather. I miss him every day and when it's my time to leave this life for the next one, I want him to know that I've never forgotten him.
Second, the reason I used the names of World War 2 ships for the new 8th fleet of the Rebellion is because I have been watching the anime series, Azur Lane which is based on the game of the same name. It's one of those 'ship-girl' series and game which is based on World War 2.
Now then, next chapter will be the final chapter before Galen returns to Remnant and it appears the rebels are heading for Kamino. What will they find there and why do the names of the anti-trooper's sound so familiar? I'll give you a hint about the names, they are codenames of those who defended human freedom from a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.
You'll be seeing some naval warfare next chapter so until then, please read and review.
