Huh, not a lot of reviews as the previous chapters. Well, I guess that's to be expected seeing how there wasn't a whole lot of action last chapter and there won't be any action this chapter either. Again, don't expect Oscar to appear until volume 5, but he won't be alone. I'm going to use one of the characters from Star Wars: Visions for this story.

Anyway, onto the reviews.

Jack Smith1: Thanks man. Funny you should mention the DC series of weapons being ballistic weaponry, seeing as they were based on the MG34 and Sterling L2A3, much like several other weapons in Star Wars which were based on real guns, like the M16, Mauser C96 and STG-44.

Luffy L Deathwalker: Well, I with Whitley having changed way before the canon time, it's only natural that he knew about the Fox since he spent time in Mantle and worked alongside Robyn and her Huntresses.

Spartan-626: The fight you are looking forward to will be in two chapters. Glad you liked the change to Whitley. As for Hanzo, I'm going to come out and say that you're in for a surprise for his connection with Blake and who he actually is. Here's a hint, he uses a Kunai and say's a certain line we know.

SilverFox456789: Thank you. I'm glad you like my story. I put a lot of thought into it when I was writing previous chapters and when I came up with the idea, but the real credit goes to the ones who inspired me to write this story, somewhat similar to their own stories. Yes, that Grimm is indeed in the village, but there is also something else in that village, something that Ren never knew about.

Alright, time for the chapter. Disclaimers are the same as before, please enjoy.

Chapter 56: Kuroyuri

A cracked sign bearing the name of Kuroyuri rested against the ruins as Ruby, Jaune, Qrow, Galen, Rex, Cody, Fordo and Alpha walked down the road of the dilapidated village. The four clones scanned the area with their weapons as Qrow checked the inside of one of the buildings. "Nothing in here." He called out.

"Same with this one." Jaune shouted.

"Nothing over here either." Ruby shouted.

"Place looks like it's been abandoned for a long time. My guess ten years or more." Alpha surmised, picking up a dirty doll that once belonged to one of the residents of the village. "Whatever happened here, it must have been horrible."

"Buildings are just buildings, what really makes a settlement, are the people that live in it." Cody added, with sorrow as the village reminded him of a city on Ryloth during the war. "I'd say this was damaged in battle but judging by the damage I'd say something really nasty wrecked this place."

"What could have done this?" Ruby wondered.

"My guess the same thing that did this!" Galen exclaimed from further ahead. Everyone rushed to Galen's location and found the wrecks of Mistral Self-Defense Forces vehicles and numerous bodies of Self-Defense Forces soldiers who were already gone. Broken weapons and empty magazines littered the ground, indicating that the soldiers tried to make one last stand against whatever it was that attacked them.

"Ok, I'm going to say it, but what could have done this?" Jaune asked.

"Something very dangerous and very deadly." Fordo said bluntly.

"I think I know why Ren didn't want to come here, this place was his home, along time ago." Galen theorized.

"Are you sure?" Alpha questioned.

"Positive. I sensed the sadness in his voice, he lost more than his home. He lost both his parents that day and I think it might have been the day he met Nora. Whatever his reasons for wanting to avoid his past, it's not our business unless he decides to tell us. For now, let's focus on finding a place to stay dry and wait for the others to contact us." Galen added.

The others agreed and walked towards one of the buildings that still had an intact roof, just as a light rain started. Everyone that is, except Galen and the clones who decided to search the ruined town once more. "Ugh, let's hope it doesn't start raining like it did on Jabiim. That planet was a hell-hole, especially with all the rain and mud that bogged down our walkers." Alpha cursed.

"I heard the casualties the Republic suffered during the battle were heavy, after the task forced used up all of it resources. Not to mention that you and Kenobi were captured during the battle." Galen said to the ARC Trooper.

"Yeah, we were. I also remember hearing that the people of Jabiim hated the Republic for leaving them in their hour of need. If we hadn't left that planet to its fate, maybe things would have been different. Maybe the war would have ended with a true Republic victory and then we could have stopped the Empire from coming into power instead of cutting our loses." Alpha agreed with a clenched fist.

"Funny you should mention Jabiim." Cody spoke. "Shortly before the end of the war, Hunter, Boss, Climber and their teams were dispatched to Jabiim on a covert mission to see if we could make up for our mistake and liberate that planet from the Separatists. They mapped out key transport routes, airbases, vehicle depots and other military targets. They even took out a view high value targets that were loyal to the Separatists and they heard of two new weapons the Separatists were developing. They called them the Star Adder and Blood Asp and from the intel we gathered, they were some types of walkers, but with deadlier firepower than anything we've ever encountered."

"I happen to remember that the Chancellor didn't give the green light for that operation. Said something about not wanting to waste anymore resources in another failed attempt to take the planet. Despite all the intel we gathered, he and Tarkin decided to ignore the planet. Can't say I blame the people of Jabiim for hating the Republic for turning tail and running." Rex added.

"If they'd been born in the Republic, I'm pretty sure the Galm and Garuda Team's would say to hell with orders and go fight for the people. It's what Trigger would do." Fordo said with a hearty laugh. "Give him an ARC Fighter or something carrying bombs and he'd hit any military target."

"Yeah, that sounds like Rick alright." Galen agreed before he came to a stop. The clones followed suit and much to their surprise, they found the wreck of an old TX-130 fighter tank. "I didn't expect this."

"What's an old TX-130 tank doing here in the village? I thought Remnant didn't make contact with people like us when you arrived on the planet?" Fordo inquired.

"I don't know, but your guess is as good as mine." Galen answered as the rain slowly drifted away.

Back in the town square, inside one of the old buildings, Jaune walked towards Ruby who stared out at the ruins of Kuroyuri while Qrow laid back against the wall of the building, sleeping after taking a swig from his flask. Off in the distance, a creature made a loud noise that caused both teens to go for their weapons. Though it was far away, it didn't stop Jaune from being worried about the others.

"I'm sorry." Ruby said to Jaune.

"Huh?" Jaune questioned.

"This is all my fault. I should never have dragged you guys into this." Ruby apologized.

"You didn't drag us in. We wanted to come." Jaune assured her.

"But you didn't know about Tyrian, about -" Ruby tried again to apologize again until Jaune cut her off.

"Ruby. We almost lost Pyrrha. We almost lost Penny, and you lost your team and, in a way… your sister and Galen. But you're still here and they are still alive, despite everything you could lose, you chose to come out here. Because you felt like you could make a difference, not just as a Huntress but as a Jedi. You didn't drag us along. You gave us the courage and hope to follow you." Jaune assured, putting his hand on her shoulder and made her smile at him, gratefully.

Back on the mountain, Ren had been remembering the day he lost his family and village to a dangerous creature of Grimm. That day, he felt fear for the first time in his life, but it was also the day he had unlocked his semblance and met Nora. As he walked along the stony ledge, he spotted a cave leading into the side of the mountain. Boba and the Bad Batch had gone into the cave to check it out while he and Nora stayed outside the cave.

"We never get the easy path, do we?" Ren questioned as the orange-haired girl came up behind him.

"Easy's no fun anyway." Nora answered, dropping her hands and turning to him, noticing the look on his face. "You, OK?" she asked.

Ren nodded and asked Nora the exact same question which Nora responded that as long as she had Ren by her side, she would be just fine. "Still don't understand why the others didn't want us coming with them into the cave. I mean, Hunter looked like he knew something we didn't, any ideas what it is?" she asked.

Ren was about to speak when thunder rumbled in the distance, causing him to look up at the sky as wind blew out from the cave. Leaves blew outward towards him, followed by a large piece of fabric that covered Ren's face, getting Nora to giggle as Ren freed himself, only to find out that the symbol of Shion village was on the cloth, weeks away from their current location and where they found that dead Huntsman.

"You kids might want to get in here!" Hunter's voice echoed from the inside of the cave. Dropping the fabric, Ren ran into the cave with Nora right behind him as they caught up to the others and became alarmed at what they had found.

In the spacious area, weapons speckled every place they could look. Swords, axes and staffs were either propped up or on the ground. Ren moved in amongst the protests of the others and picked up an arrow. He studied the projectile while Nora approaches him from behind. She then spotted the hoofprint on the ground, but it was pointed in the other direction at the opposite end of the cave. Nora and Ren moved out of the cave one at a time while the clones and Boba looked down at the trees below them that started to shake. "No…" Ren said with a shake of his head and fear in his voice.

Nora took hold of Ren's hand which the boy returned the grip as a creature roared in the distance. "Tech, get on the comm and warn Rex. Something is coming there way." He ordered.

And chapter is done. Like I said, not a lot of action this chapter and I cut out the flashback. Though I am sure Galen pretty much summed up what happened to Ren in his past.

Anyway, the fight against the Nuckelavee will follow after the next chapter, with a bit of a plot twist. So, until then, please read and review.
