Welcome everyone to 2022, it's been five years since I started writing and I don't regret it once. I love writing.
Alright, time for the first of a few filler chapters during Volume 5. This one focuses on Weiss and Arthur, who I have decided to pair together, if you haven't all figured it out already. I think I'll call this pairing 'White Wolf', but if anyone has a better name, I'm all ears.
Anyway, I saw the first episode of the Book of Boba Fett and it was awesome! I can't wait for the next episodes, but I am really looking forward to Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, RWBY Volume 9 and Bad Batch Season 2.
Anyway, onto the reviews.
Monster King: Thanks.
Spartan-626: Boba reconning the Bandit camp is the tactical move. It's better to know what you are up against before rushing in blindly and getting you and your allies killed. Now, as for the mystery person on Menagerie, it's one of three people I have as a part of Blake's past involving Hanzo. As for Sienna in the house fight, you'll have to wait and see.
54godamora: You'll have to wait and see how I kill Cinder.
Luffy L Deathwalker: Keep reading and you'll see.
42: Thought I was doing that recently, but I'll try to put the names of the bands for each song I use or the series they were used from.
Jack Smith1: Thanks. As for Remnant being involved in the Galactic Civil War, it's going to take a turn for the worse when I reach Volume 7.
SunPhoenix90: Happy New Year to you as well. Training for Ruby and the others will go the same as canon, except that with F and Kara with them, there will be Jedi training. You'll be surprised at who wiped the smirk off the faces of the twins. Just you wait and see.
Silverfox3456: I agree with you one-hundred percent with you. Mandalorian's who ally themselves with Maul or the Empire aren't worthy of calling themselves Mandalorian's. Especially when they give the symbol of their people to government that is willing to kill unarmed civilians.
Alright onto the chapter.
Disclaimers are the same as before.
Chapter 65: The Knight and Heiress
Keeping their distance from the bandit camp, Hevy deployed an R-1 recon droid to survey the area. Having confirmed that Weiss was in the camp, Hardcase suggested that they blast their way through the camp and get the girl. That idea was quickly dismissed when Hevy pointed out Raven's tribe had somehow managed to get their hands on dozens of Super Battle Droids, all of which looked like they were fresh off the assembly line.
A closer look at the droid's chassis revealed that they were some of the 'products built by the Schnee Dust Company, designated as 'riot' versions of the Atlesian-200. How these droids came into the Schnee Dust Company's custody was still uncertain, but for the moment Arthur was more concerned about Weiss.
In the three days since they found the bandit camp and saw that they had Weiss held captive like a slave ready for to be sold to a Hutt or some other criminal group. The idea of Weiss being sold like an animal made Arthur despise these types of people even more than he already did. He had to get her out of there as quick as possible before they grew tired of waiting for her old man to pay a ransom or couldn't find a buyer for her.
"I still say we just go in there and mow them all down! We've got two rotary blaster cannons, gauntlet guns, a sword-blaster rifle and a lightsaber, plus a few carbines. We can take them easy." Hardcase stated in his usual gung-ho and reckless attitude.
"I keep telling you, Hardcase. We go in there guns blazing, Weiss will get caught in the crossfire. You want to explain it to her sister that we killed her because we were careless? We need to proceed carefully, right Arthur?" Hevy chastised.
"Hevy is correct. Besides," Arthur began, taking the binoculars he had with him and put them to his eyes. "Stealth is our best weapon for this task. We rescue her at night and then we…" he stopped short when he noticed that Weiss wasn't in the cage like they thought she was. "We have to go now before they kill her!"
Both ARC Troopers looked too each other with concerned looks before they followed after Arthur who was already running in the direction of the lake. "Guess we're in for a fight after all." Hardcase mused with a smile underneath his helmet.
Meanwhile, Weiss was thrown to the ground hard as one of the bandits that brought her to a large cliff overlooking Lake Matsu pulled off her rags. The face of the former Schnee Heiress turned red as a tomato as some of the other bandits were eyeing her like a piece of meat. "So, it appears that your father doesn't want you back after all. It's a shame, you would have gotten us a lot of money from your old man. Raven and Vernal are in the process of looking for a buyer, but you appear to be more trouble than you are worth." The bandit said to Weiss. Compared to the other bandits, he was more muscular, had his face was covered in black war paint, wore a type of metal armor and carried a large broadsword on his back, a trophy from one of the Huntsmen they killed over the years.
"I'd rather not have the tribe deal with the military, in the case your sister finds out we have you, so I'm going to cut straight to the point. You're going for a nice long dip in the lake. A dip that you won't be able to come back from." They continued as one bandit copped a feel on Weiss's butt as they attached a ball and chain to her feet. "You'll sink to the bottom and join all the others who have 'disappeared'. How long you can hold your breath is up to you, enjoy your last moments while you can. No one is coming for you girly."
Weiss glared and panicked as the ball and chain were attached to her feet and the large bandit picked her up and brought her closer and closer to the edge of the cliff where the waves below crashed against the ground. She screamed through her gag, begging to be released but the bandits didn't pay any attention to her pleas before the ball was thrown over the cliff, dragging Weiss with it.
The wind blew past her face as she fell rapidly to the water below, trying desperately to break free of her bounds but it was no use. The water came closer and closer as she fell, taking a deep breath she hit the water with a splash as the heavy weight dragged her down to the bottom. As she fell deeper and deeper into the lake, her air was beginning to run out.
The chain hit the sandy bottom with a thud, sending up a cloud of sand and dirt around her where she noticed the bodies of the people the large bandit mentioned. All of them were travelers who stepped foot on the bandit's territory and if Weiss didn't hurry, she would join them as well.
She tugged on her bindings, trying to break free but it was no use with her taped hands. She tried to swim to the surface, but the heavy weight kept her firmly in place and was using up precious air. She pulled in one direction that managed to move the weight up by a few inches, but it wasn't enough. Her body ceased moving and her eyes began to close as she spotted a familiar armored figure swimming towards her before she lost consciousness.
Taking the Lightsaber that was given to her by Whitley, Arthur ignited the Jedi weapon and slashed the chain hold Weiss down before he sheathed the weapon, grabbed Weiss and quickly swam to the surface, having dived after her from the same cliff she was forced off. 'I will not let you die, Weiss.' Arthur thought as he swam to the surface.
On the shore, Hevy and Hardcase scanned the water for any sign of Arthur and Weiss. In Hevy's hands was a suitcase containing the clothing Weiss wore when she assisted the rebellion along with her weapons. "I don't see them! Maybe they both drowned." Hardcase theorized.
"No, they didn't drown. Arthur would die before he allowed the girl to drown." Hevy told the other trooper as thunder sounded in the distance. "Storms coming. They better get back here quickly so we can find shelter."
They didn't wait long before Arthur broke to the surface and trudged to the shore with Weiss in his hands. "I told you they'd make it, Hardcase. Come on, let's get to the cave before the storm hits. Last thing we need is to be killed by high winds." He told his brother, heading towards the cave beneath the cliff.
Once inside, Arthur undid Weiss's bindings and performed CPR on the unconscious girl, trying to get air into her lungs. "Come on Weiss, you can't restore the Schnee name if you died now. You have to live." He said to her.
A final mouth-to-mouth brought Weiss back to the land of the living, gasping for air in relief. "A-Arthur? You're not dead, right?" she asked disoriented.
"It will take a lot more than a crash landing to kill me." Arthur replied, taking a blanket from his bag and draped it over her wet body. "If you think, for a second that I enjoyed seeing you reduced to the state of a damsel in distress and tied up, you really don't know me at all." He joked.
Weiss smiled before she sneezed. "Looks like those bandits didn't take good care of you. The air around here is a little cold, you probably have a bit of a fever." Hevy observed as he placed some dried pieces of driftwood and made a fire. "Get some rest, you'll feel right as rain after what you've been through." He added, taking a seat on a rock before he removed his helmet and began to inspect his carbine which was damaged in the crash.
Arthur unsheathed a knife he had hidden in a secret compartment on his armor and cut a piece of cloth that he had on hand. He then applied a mixture of herbs to the cloth which he then wrapped around Weiss's forehead, to help with her fever. "You will be alright now, my lady."
Weiss smiled before she fell asleep, just as the rain began to pour.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that girl has a crush on you now." Hardcase said with a laugh.
"If she has feelings for me, it's not a laughing matter." Arthur pointed out, getting Hardcase to stop laughing once he noticed Arthur's glare. "I used to think that she was just like her father, but I've seen the real Weiss Schnee. She is indeed her own person and more like her grandfather than I originally thought the moment I laid eyes on her. Compared to the other ditzy girls from Atlas, she is by far a much better person then they are, especially the one from Jacque's 'charity party'." Arthur said.
"I got to agree, she's a lot more than just a pretty face. She's tough, like a Jedi. Sure, she's young and all, but she's got the heart of a warrior. A warrior no doubt worthy to wield a lightsaber." Hevy agreed. "You know something's been bothering me. How in the Nine Corellian Hells did her old man get his hands on a lightsaber and battle droids? I mean, I know that the droids have been coming from Seppie ships that crashed on the planet, but what would make him want to sell them?"
"I don't care, so long as I can blast them all." Hardcase stated with a laugh. "I'll destroy more droids than Clone Force 99, the Muunilinst 10, Delta Squad and Skywalker. It'll be fun."
"That's a good way to get yourself killed, soldier." Arthur retorted. "As for why Jacques is selling those droids and claiming them as his own, I think we all know the reason he's selling them, money. Why build something that will cost him more money to build when he can sell something that's already built and claim it as his own when no one else has seen it before. The lightsaber on the other hand, I have no idea." The knight added. "Right now, all we can do is focus on the current task at hand and get to Mistral. Winter may no longer be there, but that's where we'll find the answers we seek."
"You mean about Cinder and her team being from Haven?" Hevy inquired. "Tech already filled us in that their files were forged. Someone must have helped them with all that, someone who could easily forge documents. Not to mention it should have been a dead giveaway that she was older than most students, she was about twenty-five years old and should have graduated from Haven years ago. Something doesn't add up. And let's not forget that one of her teammates is related to Marcus Black, the assassin who can take other people's semblances." Hevy listed.
"An assassin who I might add is dead. Someone found his body a couple months back in the ruins of his burned home. I think we know who killed him, his son." Arthur surmised.
"What? Did Mercury have issues with his old man or something? That still doesn't answer why he killed his own father. Not that I'm saying that Marcus deserved what he got, but was it his semblance that attracted Cinder to him?" Hardcase asked just as thunder boomed outside the cave, followed by a flash of lighting.
"We can worry about that later. Right now, let's just focus on getting Weiss back to health before we get her weapon back and find a way to Mistral." Arthur told the two troopers before he decided to get some rest himself.
"We'll stand guard and watch out for the enemy." Hevy replied, turning back to the cave entrance after he finished fixing his damaged carbine. Hardcase followed suit, readying his own weapon for anything that came their way.
Back in Raven's camp, said Bandit leader was beating the ever-living tar out of the large bandit who decided to drown Weiss. "I don't remember ever giving you the order to rid ourselves of the Schnee girl. Even if her father refused to pay a ransom, I'm sure her mother, sister and brother would have been willing to pay a ransom. Instead, she's now at the bottom of the lake and sleeping forever. You must have a screw loose, Kane." Raven berated.
"Cut me some slack, Raven. I only joined this tribe because you saw my potential. You know how many Huntsmen and Huntresses I've killed? It's more then you've ever killed." Kane spat back, wiping the blood from his lip. "My sword has tasted the blood of men and women, even children. I live to kill, and I love killing anyone who is weak. That's our motto, the weak die and the strong live,
"And does this include dumping people into the lake all tied up and gagged? Or raping and murdering children?" Vernal retorted. "Seems a waste when we could recruit them into the tribe, if they were strong enough." She added.
"Stay out of this Vernal! This has nothing to do with you!" Kane snarled.
"Enough!" Raven demanded, stopping Vernal and Kane from starting a fight. "Kane. You have the next village raid, take your men and those machines and loot the village. Kill anyone who gets in your way and don't come back without anything of value." She ordered. Kane bowed his head and headed for his tent.
"We never should have recruited him into the tribe. He's a loose cannon." Vernal voiced to Raven.
"I know. He's a rabid animal let off its leash. He can't control his lust for blood. That's why I'm hoping he dies. I have no use for someone who doesn't follow my orders." Raven agreed as the storm continued to rage overhead.
The storm continued to rage on for three days, leaving a trail of destruction all across the Anima continent. Roads and rail lines were blocked by debris while the roofs of buildings in various villages were blown off, causing more damage. But as for Weiss, her condition took a turn for the worse.
Her fever hadn't broken during those three days and her aura wasn't recharging as it should. All the medicine they had with them was looted from the crash by the bandits and if they didn't hurry, Weiss wouldn't make it another day. Arthur kept his eyes gazed on the former heiress with a look of determination on his face. "Hevy, where's the nearest settlement?" he asked.
"The closest settlement isn't for another mile to the east. I spotted some train tracks not far from the lake. We follow the tracks; we'll reach the settlement. Hopefully we can get some medicine for Weiss before she it gets worse." Hevy answered.
"I spotted a couple of bikes that are still in good working order. We can use those to get the settlement faster instead of walking. One of them has a sidecar we can put Weiss in." Hardcase added as a weak Weiss finished changing into the same clothes that she wore when working with the rebellion, her face redder than it already was.
"Then let's go. We need that medicine." Arthur said with determination before he scooped up Weiss into his arms and carried her to where Hardcase had found the bikes. Loading up Weiss into the sidecar, Arthur turned on the bikes engine and followed after Hevy and Hardcase who as soon as they found the train tracks, turned and headed towards the settlement.
Trees were blown all over the line as the group continued towards the settlement, determined to save Weiss, but when they got closer to the settlement, they noticed the smoke rising over the hill and what they had feared was confirmed.
The bandits under Kane's leadership had set fire to several buildings while the droids were rounding up the townsfolk into the center of the town. Several bandits armed with rifles kicked the door of one building open, followed by gunfire and screams as supplies were gathered by the bandits. One of the townsfolk tried to make a run for it, but Kane stabbed them clean through the back without any mercy. "Kill them all. The weak die and the strong live! But spare the children, I want to have some fun with them!" Kane shouted from the town.
His voice echoed towards Arthur, Hevy, Hardcase and Weiss who watched in disgust at the atrocity being committed right before their eyes. "Kane. I should have known this was his doing." Arthur snarled.
"You know him?" Hevy asked.
"No, but I heard of him. He's a serial killer and pedophile that my father tried to apprehend years ago only to run away from my father like a coward after he took my father's eye. It's time I bring him to justice for what he's done." Arthur answered, reeving his bikes engine and headed right for the settlement. Hevy and Hardcase followed suit, with Weiss getting worser still.
The cries of the villagers were music to Kane's ears as his men and droids prepared to execute them all. Just before they could pull the triggers of their weapons, Arthur's bike crashed into one of their empty carts destroying it. "Kane!" Arthur yelled.
Kane turned around and looked at Arthur before he noticed the sword on his waist. "A Penwolf? Wait, don't tell me you're that old man's kid? I heard about how he died protecting the weak from the Grimm. He was a really pathetic man, protecting the weak. He had a lot of power, yet he choose to use it to protect others." Kane said with a laugh.
"Disrespect my family one more time and you'll regret it." Arthur spat, drawing his family's sword. "By the strength of my will, by the honor of my blades, with courage and valor, I will fight for the innocent and avenge all those you have killed and raped, especially the children."
"Your old man said the same thing before I blinded the fool. If you want to fight me, then you'll have to prove yourself." Kane said unimpressed with Arthur reciting his families code of arms. "Boys, show this filth what happens when you piss me off, kill him!"
Kane's men were quick to open fire as were the droids. Using his sword like a lightsaber, Arthur deflected the rounds away from him. A few rounds did hit his armor, but his armors shields held strong. "It will take more than guns to kill me." He declared and charged towards the bandits and droids. "I'll take you all on!"
The bandits and droids continued to fire at him, but Arthur remained undaunted as he continued forward and cut down several bandits without any regret. "Scum like you don't deserve to live!" he shouted, slashing a bandit across the chest before swinging his weapon around and cleaved a bandit's arm clean off before he slammed his sword into their head.
"He's just one kid! Kill him already!" Kane shouted in anger, seconds before a barrage of blaster fire from behind Arthur downed several Super Battle Droids. The source of the blaster fire was Hevy and Hardcase who were more than ready for a fight. "Kill them all!"
"Scrap 'em!" Hevy shouted referring to the droids as he opened up with his carbine. The droids ran past Arthur and the bandits, focusing solely on the clones but the two ARC Troopers continued to pour on the blaster fire at them as they took cover behind a few buildings. "Not going to use your rotary blaster, Hardcase?"
"Not a good idea. Those civies back their will get hit if I miss. I maybe gung-ho and reckless, but I'm not careless enough to risk the lives of the townsfolk." Hardcase replied, firing back with his rifle killing a few bandits and droids. "Not like we can use explosives either. Way to risky." He added, ducking back behind the building he was using for cover. He was about to return fire once more when he noticed something. "Hey Hevy, where's Weiss?"
As the two clones continued to fire back at the bandits and droids, Arthur continued to cut his way through the group hostiles getting closer and closer to Kane who continued to watch the young knight with interest. Switching his sword to its blaster mode, Arthur leapt onto one of the bandits and used them as a springboard as he fired his blaster at the enemy below him. When he landed, he called on his semblance which he sent to his gauntlet blades and proceeded to cut through the bandits and droids with his flame infused blades, even creating a flaming blue scythe that slashed through the bandits and knocked many of them off their feet.
"Well now, you're a lot more skilled than your old man than I thought." Kane praised, impressed with Arthur's skills, removing the glove that covered his right hand, revealing it to be a prosthetic. "Your old man took my hand from me, so I took his eyes. A fair trade, don't you think?"
"Are you going to talk or are you going to fight?" Arthur questioned as more of Kane's men appeared in front of their boss and charged towards the young knight, who drew his family's sword and slashed one bandit across the chest, killing them. "So, who's next?"
"How about the girl?" Kane answered, snapping his prosthetic fingers, calling the bandits that had captured Weiss to bring her forward and straight to her knee's. "I'll make Raven proud when I kill this bitch!" he yelled.
"I'll die before that happens!" Arthur yelled back. With Weiss in the hands of the enemy, he couldn't risk attacking the enemy. "You have no honor, Kane. You're just as evil as my father told me. You're nothing more than scum!"
"This coming from a knight who's trying to protect the Schnee girl, who's company has more blood on their hands than me?" Kane laughed, drawing his massive sword which then shifted into a smaller blade. "A sword was meant to chop people up and make them bleed and I'll be making Knight stew when I'm finished with you. Hey, that rhymes."
"Shut up!" Arthur shouted.
"Drop your weapon or the girl dies!" Kane demanded, putting the blade closer to Weiss's neck. His options limited, Arthur tossed his sword to the ground and detached his gauntlets, before Kane's men rushed him with their own weapons drawn and ready. But Arthur wasn't unarmed.
Reaching behind him, Arthur drew the lightsaber that the young Schnee boy had given his older sister and ignited its blue blade just in time to slice through the sword of one bandit and took their arms off. "I am never unarmed. One more child or two more, you'll never stop your blood lust until you have drawn your last breath. I'LL Take You All On!" he shouted and charged towards the bandit horde, quickly grabbing his sword in the process.
With two blades in his hands, Arthur cut a path through the bandits without any remorse for these people who have done many unspeakable things over the months. Bandit after bandit was killed by his weapons as he continued forwards until he finally came face to face with Kane who wasn't even phased that all his forces were dead. "It's just you and me, monster." Arthur declared.
"No, it's just me, boy." Kane countered, throwing Weiss aside before he charged towards his young opponent. "What was it your old man said? Oh right, 'At the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall.' What a load of bullshit."
"I told you once; Disrespect my family again and you'll regret it." Arthur snarled and charged towards the serial killer clown. Leaping into the air with a downward strike, Arthur was caught by Kane who threw him into a building, shattering the window.
"You still fight for the weak! That is why you lose!" Kane snarled, kneeing Arthur in the gut and causing him to drop the lightsaber which landed near Weiss. "I'll kill you, then I'll kill the town, save the children from becoming filthy adults, then I'll kill the girl and those soldier boys!" Kane said with all intents on keeping that promise.
"Never!" Arthur spat as he fought for control against the weight of Kane's against his own. Suddenly, a black glyph appeared beneath Kane and sent him flying into another building, getting him off the young knight. To Arthur's surprise, Weiss was standing with the lightsaber in her hand ignited and running on pure adrenaline.
"You won't be killing anyone!" Weiss declared, casting a speed glyph beneath herself and Arthur, dashing towards the serial killer and each landed a hit on the man, draining his aura. "No one ties me up, gags me, strips me, tosses me over a cliff to drown and lives to brag about it. But this isn't about me. This is about taking down a killer, a killer who hurt the boy I love." She added.
Arthur smiled under his battle mask at Weiss's words. "So, I got a couple of love birds? That makes me sick. I'll kill you both and then I'll cut you up like a pizza!" Kane roared.
"Shut up!" Arthur shouted, dashing towards Kane and slashed at his chest, only for the crazy bandit to block with his stolen weapon. This in turn allowed Weiss to sucker punch the clown across the face. "You are a monster, Kane. And like all monsters, you need to be eliminated."
"You talking about yourself? Cause you're the only monster I see." Kane mocked, gesturing for his opponents to come at him, who were more than happy to oblige. Casting a glyph, Weiss launched a series of projectiles towards Kane who swung his sword and destroyed them all, but this was a decoy allowing Arthur to attack the serial killer from behind, scoring a hit on the man's armor and aura.
Weiss then dashed in and slashed at Kane's shoulder armor, destroying it and damaging the chest plate. Skidding to a halt, Weiss began to feel more lightheaded which allowed Kane to move in and bat her aside, but Arthur pushed her out of the way and took the hit. "Protecting the weak was always a weakness of your old man. It's what got him killed." Kane said before he plunged his sword into Arthur's body, piercing his armor and wounded him. "I'm going to enjoy killing you and then I'll have some fun with the girl." He said with sadistic pleasure.
His plans were brought to a halt when he felt took a hit from behind and a lightsaber blade pierced his chest. Kane gasped from breath as Weiss pulled the blade out of his body and fell to her knees, exhausted. "You… bitch…" he groaned before he backwards into a puddle of mud dead.
"Weiss!" Arthur shouted, holding his side in pain as he ran over to her and caught her in his arms. Hevy and Hardcase soon arrived with the mayor of the settlement who thanked them for their assistance and gestured for the settlements doctor and wife to bring the both of them into the clinic.
The rest of the townsfolks gathered the weapons from the dead bandits and rounded up those that were still alive, placing them in the towns jail while the droids were taken to the blacksmiths shop and melted down.
As for Kane's body, a Mistral Self Defense Force patrol arrived a few hours later and confirmed that the body matched the description of the wanted poster than a Huntsmen had shown them months ago, taking the body with them back to Mistral while a platoon of SDF soldiers stayed behind to protect the settlement.
As for Weiss and Arthur, they were couped up in the clinic for a few days until they recovered from their injuries and fever, but during that time Arthur and Weiss shared their first kiss, vowing to protect one another and return to their teammates and Arthur vowed that together they would retrieve Weiss's weapon from the bandits. Little did they know, their paths would be crossing with another group that was seeking out the bandits.
Done. Sorry it took so long, I was having a little trouble writing this out, but I have finally finished it.
First off, the whole Weiss nearly drowning thing, let's just say I took a que from Aladdin but dropped the whole Genie rescuing Al from death and made it Arthur.
Second, Kane is loosely based off the character by the name of Champ from Akame Ga Kill and I gave him a little history with Arthur's family. Figured I'd at least have Arthur's dad tell him about one individual who he failed to bring to justice and have it be Arthur and Weiss who took him down.
Alright, now next time we will be returning to the main story for another couple of chapters before I get to work on chapter much like when Galen earned the title of Demon Lord, but with a little SST for you all. Until then, please read and review. Stay safe out there and happy new year to you all.
