Before this chapter starts, I'd like you all to know that I started working on My Bad Batch-RWBY story but haven't posted the first chapter yet. It's still a work in progress but if any of you have any suggestions for it, please send me a PM for it, but I already have a pairing planned for the story.
Second, I watched the new Predator movie a while back and it was awesome. I think I know why the Predator in that movie used different weapons than the traditional Predators, but I won't tell or spoil the movie for anyone else. I hope the next one they do is set in the Old West or World War 2. That would be awesome
Third, I missed my chance to meet Ewan McGregor, Gina Carano, Ming-Na Wen, David Tennant, Giancarlo Esposito, Anthony Daniels and Ashley Eckstien at Fan Expo Boston 2022 along with the other guests they had for the event. Tickets were expensive and with my workdays now cut down to only two days a week, I'm not making enough money to go events like this. Maybe it's time I consider switching from the restaurant business and look for something else.
Anyway, it's time for the final chapter of Volume 6, which means it's time for another Blake vs Adam battle. You all are going to love this; well I hope you're going to love it anyway. Not sure how it will turn out, but I hope it's a long one.
But first, let us go to the reviews.
First off, we have SilverFox3456: I agree that having the entire Pack go to Atlas would be a good idea, considering the Empire will be coming back to Remnant. Yes, I made Ironwood seem like more of an idiot, but it's only going to get worse when I reach Volume 7, trust me when I say you're going to hate Ironwood even more when I reach the Atlas arc. Thanks for saying I am awesome and to answer your question, the planes in this story are based on real world aircraft like the SU35, F15C, F5E and such, they are not exclusive to Ace Combat. If they were, how would I know the specs and weapons loadout of each plane?
54godamora: Yes, I am an Ace Combat Fan. Ace Combat is a series of arcade-style flight simulator games published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, originally for the Playstation console but later moved to the XBOX 360, XBOX ONE, PC, Gameboy Advance and other consoles that focuses on fast paced action. The main series takes place in a fictionalized world, loosely based on the real world, and players are able to pilot fictional, prototype and other aircraft with some slight modifications. The series has sold seventeen million copies as of 2021.
BlindFaunusGirl: Thank you. Originally, I was going to have Ruby pilot Galen's fighter with R4 as her copilot but decided it would be best to have her act as Ahsoka's gunner, seeing as she never piloted a fighter before. And thanks, I really think I nailed Ironwoods paranoia down pretty good.
Jack Smith1: Who said the Rebellion didn't salvage those mighty machines?
Luffy L Deathwalker: I didn't notice that, but seriously… YOU MET JOHNNY YONG FUCKING BOSCH!? WHERE DID YOU MEET HIM? WHEN DID YOU MEET HIM? I LOVE THAT GUY AS A VOICE ACTOR AND POWER RANGERS ACTOR! YOU ARE ONE LUCKY BASTARD! Sorry, I'm just so jealous that you meet him and I missed my chance to meet him at Anime Boston 2017, that and I am a huge fan of his, especially his voice as Bumblebee.
Q, The guest reviewer: No, the Gods of Light and Darkness didn't create the force, so the Galaxy isn't in danger from Salem, unless she's able to get off world, which she has no plans for.
SunPhoenix90: No need to apologize.
Spartan-626: You'll love this chapter, I'm sure of it.
Reviews done, onto the story.
Songs in this chapter are the following. 'Set it Off' by Skillet, one of my new favorite songs by that band, 'Danger Zone' by Kenny Logins, 'Super circus' from Ace Combat 5, 'Battle of Farbanti' from Ace Combat 7, 'Kickstart my heart' by the Motley Crew, 'Tank Rush' and 'Gladiator Battle' From Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf.
Lot of songs, so that means, and I hope for this to be a long chapter. And a special surprise at the end for you all.
Anyway, Disclaimers are the same as always, please enjoy.
Chapter 97: The Battle of Argus
Raising his lightsaber, Luke parried a blow from Pyrrha's lightsaber as the two conducted a mock duel in the hanger of the Enterprise while Ray and Neo watched with interest. Sarkli's betrayal during the mission to Ralltiir was still fresh in their minds, but despite the betrayal Luke made it a point to focus on his Jedi training whenever he had the time between missions. Such was the case now in his duel with Pyrrha.
With Pyrrha being a master of the blade, Luke found his limited skills with a lightsaber being pushed to the test, even with the training he got from Plo Koon and Kota who were masters at Lightsaber combat compared to him. Even Ray and Neo helped him with his sparring, who were more skilled them him despite being self-taught. "Luke seems to be picking up on his training pretty well. I think he might be ready to take on Vader." Neo said as Luke countered one of Pyrrha's attacks.
"Don't go filling his head with that kind of idea. Vader's on a whole different level than you, me and Luke. Don't forget he could have killed me on Mandalore if it weren't for you." Ray reminded.
"How could I forget." Neo chuckled as she looked towards two machines that were recently delivered to Enterprise, gifts from Bo-Katan. Both machines weighed at a hundred tones one of them dark pink and one of them blood red, both of which were heavily armed at the cost of their speed.
The blood red one was armed with twin heavy missile launchers and four machine guns. The dark pink one was armed with four hard hitting 120mm autocannons decided for tanks, four pulse laser cannons and twin heavy missile launchers while the old flamethrower was removed. Aside from the missile launchers, the machines shared two twin plasma projectile cannons which were the most powerful ground weapon in the rebellion's arsenal.
The machines were called the Blood Asp and Star Adder. Assault Mechs built during the Jedi Civil War by Mandalorian's who joined Clan Ordo for the purpose of fighting against the Sith. They were said to have vanished three-thousand years and presumably stolen by a rogue clan of Mandalorian's, somehow ending up in the hands of Death Watch who tried to finish arming them for their war against the New Mandalorian's only for them to vanish once more when Death Watch suffered infighting amongst themselves. Eventually, the vehicles ended up in the hands of the Seperatists who were working on mass-producing them only for them to be stolen by the Nite-Owls who sought to restore them to operational status for their war against the Empire.
Once they were completed, Ray and Neo tested them in combat against the Empire during a skirmish on Concordia when the Empire discovered the testing ground only a few weeks after the Death Star was destroyed. Although the initial combat results were less than perfect, the Blood Asp and Star Adder met the approval of the two Garuda pilots who suggested the addition of the machine guns on the chance they would fight the Grimm. "These look a lot like some of those machines we saw in those shows and games we played as kids." Neo remarked.
"At least this thing is…" Ray began before he put his hand to his head in pain, as did Neo and Luke. "Guess I'm not the only one who sensed that as well, aren't I?" he said with concern. "Something bad is about to happen. I sense a lot of anger and hatred, coming from…"
"Remnant." Neo finished. "Adam must be planning his assault on Argus."
"Why would Adam want to plan an attack on Argus?" Pyrrha asked with worry.
"Cinder told me once, that Adam had always planned on attacking Argus, not just because it's a gateway to Atlas, but because they would be able to claim a city of their own and would be able to control the distribution of supplies that they would send to their allies across the kingdoms." Neo explained. "Sienna was against this plan, seeing at it would only make the humans see the Faunus as monsters especially when Adam said he would kill every human in Argus, not just the men, but the women and the children to. He would have slaughtered them like animals and if he couldn't have the city, he would destroy it."
"He must be after Blake. He probably see's her as the reason his plans at Haven failed and wants to take her down personally." Ray theorized.
"We have to go help them." Luke said. "If this Adam Taurus is as dangerous as you say he is, they'll need all the help they can get. We may have only eight Rogue pilots available right now, but I think the rest of the crew would agree that we ow the Demon Lord a favor. Galen and Ruby were there for us when the Death Star was a threat, so we need to be there for them. My father would do the same thing."
"Never met your father, Luke." Biggs said as he, Wedge, Wes Janson, Derek 'Hobbie' Klivian, Dak Ralter, Zev Senesca, Tycho Celchu and Admiral Halberton walked into the hanger. "But he would agree that we need to repay our debts. If it weren't for Galen, I'd be space dust by now. I ow him that much."
"Well, if you guys are going to the planet, then you can count me and Chewie in." Han said from the nearby parked Millennium Falcon. "I already got my debt to Jabba paid off thanks to the kid, figured I ow him one." Chewie growled in anger, feeling forgotten. "Okay, we ow him one." Han corrected himself.
"My father placed a great deal of trust in Galen, and he saved his life before. I ow him a debt." Leia said in agreement, walking down the Falcon's boarding ramp. "Admiral, signal the fleet and set course for Remnant. We need to move immediately."
"You heard the princess! Make ready for the jump to hyperspace!" Halberton shouted to the crew who rushed about to make the last-minute checks on their fighters, vehicles and weapons before the 8th fleet jumped to hyperspace.
Back on Remnant ten miles out of Argus, Adam watched as his forces marched towards the coastal city. He never thought in his wildest dreams that he would have amassed an army so large that he felt he could take on the entire world and win. He had planned on tracking down Blake all across the continent no matter where she went and planned to make her suffer, when Maul of all people approached him with an offer to not only make Blake pay, but also give him the victory he deserved. Maul had learned that Blake and her friends were going to Atlas, so they would have to go to Argus to get to kingdom of bigots and technology, but rather than doing everything himself he was given his own army comprised of thousands of battle droids given to him as a gift from Hazel's former master and her associate, Maul. Hundreds of light and heavy tanks, mobile artillery guns, advanced Spider Droids, unmanned fighters and bombers. Dozens of Sabre and Sentinel fighter jets, Anura-Class, Aricon-Class, Littoria-Class and 205 Class airships given to them by a foolish human before his arrest, along with weapons and ammo. Amongst his forces, were hundreds of Faunus who believed in his goals and blamed the failure at Haven to the result of traitors and weak-minded fools who shared the ideals of the Belladonna's.
He grinned as his army marched towards Argus, having other units already marching towards the city from the east and west, a classic pincer maneuver to cut off any means of retreat for the people of Argus. As one of the stolen S27's flew overhead, one of Adam's followers approached him and knelt down on the ground. "High Leader, our advance to Argus has continued unabated. They haven't detected us yet and by the time they do, it will already be too late. We'll be right on top of them." The soldier reported.
"And what about the traitor and her friends?" Adam asked.
"No sign of them yet. It's possible they've already made it to Atlas by now, but either way this will be a day long remembered in our planet's history. We will finally give the humans the war they crave but we, the true dominant species of the planet will emerge victorious. At last, we will have what we desire. At last, we will have our revenge." The soldier answered.
"Spread the word amongst our forces. Any human they come across is to be killed with extreme prejudice. I want them all dead. The men, the woman and the children. They call us animals; we'll slaughter them like animals. Do not hesitate, do not show mercy." Adam instructed. The soldier nodded as a flight of six S34's flew towards Argus while Adam hopped onto one of the tanks.
Meanwhile, in Argus, Galen and his group watched as the Marauder came in for a landing. "Are you serious! The White Fang heading towards the city! What's…" Blake began to ask, confused about the recent report.
"Your father would never authorize such an attack, neither would Sienna. Both of them are out of the continent. This has to be Adam's work. I think we know who those weapons were being sent to. Burns sold them to White Fang. He's just like Gunray!" Rex snarled.
"If I know Adam Taurus Mo, he'll go after every single human his forces can find. We need to evacuate the citizens to some place safe!" Caroline said before she turned to one of her soldiers. "Sound the alarm! Message the citizens to get to the underground shelters, evacuate their homes! Scramble all available planes for air-to-air and air-to-ground combat! Contact the MSDF, get them to send some forces and for the sake of city, GET ME IN TOUCH WITH GENERAL IRONWOOD NOW! WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS!" she shouted.
"Never seen Corvo like this before. It's impressive." Maria commented.
"Where do you want us?" Ruby asked.
"I want you all to leave the city at once. We'll hold them off as long as we can. Get to Atlas and get the damn general to send help!" Caroline told Ruby. "If the general won't allow you into Atlas, then use the chaos to sneak into the Kingdom. Deliver your information to him and ensure that the tragedy at Beacon doesn't happen anywhere else. You've already done enough for me, so consider this my way of saying thank you."
"So, after everything we did for, you just want us to leave run while the White Fang destroys the whole city and kills every single human in their way?" March asked. "I'm not going to run away and let that horn-headed bastard run all over this city and kill everyone who gets in his way. I'm staying."
"My pa didn't raise no coward in his family, my cousins Red and Cole wouldn't turn tail and run either. If that dumbass Taurus want's a war, we'll give him more than a war. We'll give him a black eye." Rose added.
"Adam's obsession with Faunus domination has gone to far. His goals for war will only result in others completing their objectives. He has lost the meaning of what the White Fang truly stood for. He has to be stopped, no matter the cost." Arthur agreed.
"My brothers and I aren't running either." Rex said in agreement.
"Pyrrha wouldn't like it if I let her hometown get destroyed. I'm staying as well." Jaune stated.
"Ren and I are staying as well." Nora said, agreeing with her team leader.
"We let Adam win, there will be no stopping him. We're all staying." Ruby agreed, her teammates agreeing with her as well.
Faye, Kara, Lop, Ahsoka, Boba and Zett also agreed, leaving only Galen left to speak. "Ironwood would arrest us if we stole a Manta and entered Atlas without his permission, the confusion caused by this battle would allow us to get to Atlas easily." He began, before he remembered Adrian and his parents. "But if we turn and run while everyone else is risking their lives to protect the city, everyone here will die, and Adam will be one step closer to launching an attack on Atlas and that would only be the beginning of his war. Unlike Adam who desires war, we desire peace. Peace is the noblest aspiration, but to preserve it you must be willing to fight. I'm staying as well."
Caroline looked the group of huntsmen, huntresses, clone soldiers, Jedi, Faunus and sole bounty hunter with surprise. She first refused to let them enter Atlas because she took her job seriously, only to learn that the man who saved her son was among those who was asking for entrance into her home kingdom. Even then, she still wanted to refuse them entry but after learning of who the Demon Lord is and all they've done for her, she still couldn't let them into Atlas, yet now when the city she was ordered to guard was under attack she offered them a chance to sneak into Atlas, but they flatly refused to leave the city to fend for itself. For the first time in as long as she could remember, her heart was truly touch by their determination. "The White Fang will be attacking from the west, east and north. We need to focus on protecting the civilians and pushing back the White Fang." Caroline said as smoke from the gates at all three entrances rose to the sky.
"You got any A10's?" Galen asked the commander.
"Only four of them, but we have no pilots for them. They were killed during a recon mission months ago." Caroline answered.
"Have War Dog squadron assigned to close air-support. Shamrock and Ahsoka can deal with the air units. Recall Shadow Squadron back, tell them we need some ARC-170's as quick as we can. Anyone who can pilot a Strike Dagger better get their butts into those planes and ready for a fight." Rex stated.
"We'll need to split up our forces if we're going to counter their offensive." Cody reminded. "We don't have enough firepower to hold them back."
"Then we'll just have to hold out until reinforcements arrive." Galen said, turning to Thorn. "Faye, Kara, March. Take Thire, Thorn, Jek, Rhys and Stone and get the civilians into the shelters! We can't let any of them get caught in the crossfire. Once you've completed the evacuations, head to whatever sector you feel needs the most assistance. Zett, Lop, Rose. Take Cody, Waxer, Boil, Jaune, Ren and Nora to east gate and hold off the enemy. Fordo, you said your men were at the MSDF base, get them here. Take them, Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker, Tech, Alpha and Boba, hit the White Fang at the western entrance. The rest of us will hold them up at the main entrance." He ordered before he turned to Caroline. "Get whatever Missile Crawlers and tanks you have ready for battle. They're going to have armor and we'll need everything we can scrape up. Keep the crawlers back for anti-air defense."
"Normally, I wouldn't take orders from a civilian." Caroline stated in her old tone before she smiled and turned to the rest of her men who were still standing around. "But in this case, I have to agree with you on your strategy. Get a move on! We have a city to protect!" the men who were standing around were quick to run to their planes, tanks and missile crawlers while the group headed for the areas they were assigned to protect.
Meanwhile, miles away from the city. Dante was conducting another of his border patrols, keeping an eye out for any unauthorized aircraft and ships that were trying to slip into and out of kingdom, as part of the closure of borders ordered by General Ironwood. Most of the time, he discovered Schnee Dust Company ships trying to slip into Anima's coastal cities, firing off warning shots and forcing the ships to turn back to Atlas. Other times he would be flying with the Hitman and Schnee Teams, having uneventful patrols with the occasional Grimm encounters.
But today, he was in for an unexpected surprised. He had just finished his combat-air-patrol over the ocean and was about to turn back to Atlas when he got a call in over his radio, but it was too scrambled for him to make out. "R8, boost the signal. Sounds like a distress call." He instructed his copilot. His astromech copilot did so and the transmission became clearer.
"This Commander Caroline Cordovin to Atlas Command, Argus is under attack! The White Fang is attacking Argus with a large army of droids and vehicles. We are completely outnumbered! Adam Taurus is leading the attack! Any nearby forces please assist. I repeat! Argus is under attack!" the transmission continued to repeat the same message over and over before Dante sent the message back to Ironwood and waited for his reply.
"I'm sorry, Dante. But we can't send anyone to Argus. We need the military to protect Atlas from the ones responsible for the Fall of Beacon. They're on their own." Ironwood said flatly.
"But they need reinforcements! If they're under attack by Adam Taurus, then you know he won't just stop at Argus! He'll take the military gear and attack Atlas and Mantle! Are you going to just let him get away with it!?" Dante demanded.
"I recalled the military to protect our borders. Which is what you're doing right now. You have your orders, Captain. Return to…" Ironwood explained before Dante cut of the transmission.
"To hell with his orders. Galen and his friends need me. R8, plot a course to…" Dante began before he picked up nine contacts on his radar coming from the direction of Atlas. To his surprise, it was the Scimitars of the Schnee Team and Monarch, Prez's F20, Comic's F15 and Diplomat's MG-29. "Oh great, looks like I'm about to taken down by a bunch of mercenaries. Looks like Uncle Jacque and General Ironwood don't appreciate insubordination." He groaned. To his surprise, the eight aircraft formed up on his flanks. "The hell?"
"This is Galaxy Eyes to Mobius 1; your droid sent us the same distress call from Argus. Don't think for a second we were sent by your uncle or General Ironwood. We're not after you, we're after the White Fang. That bastard Adam has killed a lot of our allies in the past, including those who of Faunus Heritage. We're going to make him regret everything he's ever done in his life. So, let's stop gawking and get a move on. What's your fuel status?" Galaxy Eyes asked the Ribbon Fighter.
"I'm nearly on bingo fuel. I need a tanker soon or else we'll be talking a dip in the cold waters of hell." Dante answered.
"We've got a tanker three kilometers away from our position. Once refueling is complete, we'll make our way to Argus." Comic said over the radio.
"Good enough for me, but we better hurry it up. Sounds like the Commander could use some back up with the forces she's facing." Dante agreed and turned his aircraft in the direction of the tanker aircraft which he soon picked up on radar. Refueling took no time at all and once all the planes were fueled up, they headed for Argus, unaware that something below the waves beneath them was following them.
Back in Argus, War Dog squadron had just taken off from the airfield in their Rattlers, followed by Shamrock, Ahsoka and the remaining pilots quickly scrambled as White Fang S34's began to attack the airfield, targeting the hangers and aircraft. Several planes were destroyed as they tried to take off and some were blown up as they taxied onto the runway. "These guys really know what they're doing. They must have planned this for months. Then again, Blake said that Adam was planning this attack for years. I bet Maul and Salem gave him this army." Ahsoka said as her fighter blasted into the air, followed by Shamrock and several S27's and S30's. "All fighters, form up into squads of four and target the enemy bombers. They take priority." She instructed, but the Atlas pilots didn't follow her orders and went after the enemy on their own without a wingman. "Ugh! Shamrock, form up on my wing and stick close to me. Shadow Squadron is on the way, and they'll be here as soon as possible. We just need to hold out for bit."
"Copy that, Commander Tano. Let's give these guys a taste of some real piloting." Shamrock said over the radio and formed up alongside Ahsoka's wing. "Here they come!"
(Supercircus starts)
The dogfight over the city was already intense when the two pilots joined in the battle. Having traded in their old F4's and MG-21's for newer, faster and heavily armed aircraft, the White Fang were matching the Atlas pilots move for move and had them outnumbered more than a hundred to one, especially with the droid fighters backing them up. An Atlas S33 was sent spiraling down into one of the buildings after it was shot down by a Tri-fighter. "Stay close to me, Shamrock and watch out for those Tri-Fighters. If you get hit with Buzz Droids, you'll be crashing next!" Ahsoka warned the Strike Dagger pilot.
"Copy that, Blue Leader. Engaging hostile aircraft over Argus now!" Shamrock responded as the two fighters went after a formation of S34's and Hyena Bombers on a direct course for one of the evacuation points. "Hostile bombers going for the evac points. Turning to engage. Shamrock to Missile Leader, start providing anti-air cover now!" he shouted as he banked hard left towards the bombers with Ahsoka following close behind him.
The bomber pilots ignored them as they continued towards their objective, dead set on following Adam's orders of total victory. Their planes were loaded with self-forming fragmentation bombs to deliver the maximum damage they intended to deliver onto the humans. Cannon fire from behind them knocked out several bombers, forcing the remaining ones to break off as Shamrock and Ahsoka went after them. "Shamrock, Fox 3!" he shouted as he launched a volley of XMAA's that splashed four bombers. "Splash four targets!" he called out before he began to take fire from behind.
A pair of vulture droids were raining down deadly laser fire at his aircraft, forcing him to break for the left to avoid their shots. To his surprise, the fighters flew away from him and targeted a pair of friendly S27's which were helpless as the droid fighters blew them out of the sky. Angered by the lose of his comrades, Marcus picked out a single Vulture and lined it up with his gunsight, firing a quick burst from his cannon, shredding the fighter to ribbons before it exploded in mid-flight. "Shamrock to all pilots! Follow Blue Leaders orders! Form up in pairs of four or two and engage the enemy. Don't try to go it alone, you'll get torn to shreds up here!" he shouted over the radio before he spotted a friendly S35 going after a Scarab fighter with a vulture directly on its tail. Snapping his plane over in a dive, he fired off another burst from his cannon that turned the vulture into scrap metal.
Ahsoka was quick to join up with him having downed the Hyena bombers that tried to escape and ended up saving Marcus when he failed to notice a Scarab had gotten behind him. Her fighters' cannons roared to live as the shields on the droid fighter were drained before the fighter itself fell to the ground. "There's so many of them! If this is what Coruscant was like in the final days of the war, then Fordo wasn't kidding, this is hell." She commented.
"This is the east gate! We're under heavy air-attack! We're taking heavy enemy fire and we're losing ground! We need air support!" A soldier called out over the radio from an Atlas soldier. Turning their aircraft in the direction of the gate, Ahsoka and Marcus pushed their fighters to full power before they spotted the attacking aircraft, Belbullab-24 Strike Bombers, the bomber version of the Belbullab-22 heavy starfighter, like the one Grievous used during the war.
"Shamrock, target the bombers! I'll handle the fighters! The boys on the ground won't last much longer against those proton bombs!" Ahsoka shouted into the commlink on her armor's wrist commlink. Shamrock was quick to target the bombers while Ahsoka went for their escorts. From her experience, she knew the Belbullab-22 had firepower equal to the V-Wing which could tear a fighter apart in a matter of seconds, greater than what her fighter had. But what she lacked in firepower, she made up for it in speed. As the hostile fighters headed towards the base, ready to attack the aircraft that were just now taxing onto the runway, Ahsoka made her move. Increasing the power to her engines, she caught up with the fighters and circled around onto their nine o'clock and fired her cannons. Four of the heavy starfighters were destroyed will the last two broke off their attack run before they blown out of the sky, courtesy of the returning Shadow Squadron. "Shamrock, what's your status on the bombers?"
"All bombers destroyed, but I'm out of missiles. I've only got my gun left and plenty of ammo, but I don't know for how long." Shamrock admitted before he grunted over the commlink. "Damn it! I've got hostile MG-31s on my tail. They're shooting lasers at me! They must be using the new pulse lasers that the SDC was developing! I can't shake them!"
Shamrock jinked his aircraft in every possible direction to get the hostile planes to miss him, but they were still on his tail and matching his every move. "If I let them overshoot me, I can only take out one and then the other will get my tail! Damn it!" he cursed. Thankfully, the MG-31's were blown out of the sky by Broadside, flying an ARC-170 as Shadow Squadron arrived on the scene, along with the V-Wing of Seyden Merrick who along with his own personal squadron of V-Wings were assisting in the training of the newer MSDF pilots in combating the droids and new Grimm. "We got some back up! Looks like that Ghost of Mandalore you mentioned, and your own squadron are here!" he exclaimed.
"Shamrock, land your plane now and rearm your aircraft! We'll hold off the enemy." Seyden instructed the pilot over the commlink. Though he still had ammunition for his gun, it was only five-hundred rounds, enough to take out one, maybe two fighters or three if he was lucky enough not to fire before he was in range, but Marcus knew the Ghost of Mandalore was right and headed back for the base.
(End song)
As Shamrock landed, Galen and his group were in the middle of a fight for their lives. AAT's, GAT's and MTT's were pushing the Atlas soldiers back further and further down the main street. The White Fang and their droid armies seemed to be relentless as they crushed anyone who stood in their way, even surrendering soldiers who begged for their lives. Blaster fire from Hevy and Hardcase's rotary cannons kept several White Fang soldiers pinned down while Kix and Echo saved whatever wounded soldiers, they could who were crying out in pain.
"Make every shot count! Take 'em down!" Rex shouted, raising his bullpup rifle and squeezed off a burst of fire that downed a few hostiles before he lobbed a grenade towards the enemy. The grenade took out several hostiles while Fives and Jesse fired their own weapons from atop an overturned trolley that was knocked over during the battle. The clones watched as Galen and Ruby leapt over and used the force to push the enemy back. Dozens of hostiles were sent flying in every direction and in the case of the droids, shattered when they slammed into the walls. Another allied tank was blown to bits by enemy artillery from outside the city limits, the resulting explosion sending glass, brick and mortar raining down around them. "Fives, designate those tanks and call in an air strike!" he shouted to Fives.
"Yes sir." Fives shouted and called it in. "War Dog squadron, we need an air strike on the designated targets! Be advised, allies are still in the vicinity, recommend you use your guns!" the Arc Trooper shouted into his commlink.
"Razgriz 3 to Fives. We read you loud and clear. We're coming for a gun-run now. Recommend you guys cover your heads." Chopper said over the commlink as the Rattlers started to circle around for an attack run.
"Attack direction north! You're cleared hot! Rex! The heats coming!" Fives shouted.
"Laze targets! We got friendlies inbound, laze targets!" Rex shouted at the top of his lungs, flicking his range finder down and sending the data to the Razgriz Squadron. The Rattlers engines echoed as they dived in before their nose mounted canons spun to life, sounding like a buzzsaw as they rained death down onto the enemy vehicles which exploded. "Good effect on target, Razgriz. Go help the other areas, we'll be fine for now!" Rex said with a brief sigh before he returned his focus to the battle.
(Kickstart My Heart starts)
"Razgriz Squadron! Target the enemy armor but check your fire. We don't want any friendly fire. Edge, Chopper, circle around give them a taste of your XMAG's. Show them we don't take to kindly to a bunch of terrorists who make things worse for their own people. Archer, with me! We're going to hit the right flank!" Copper ordered over the radio as he circled around the main street and dived towards the deck, locking onto several enemy armored units and fired off four of his own XMAG's, destroying four MTT's before he pulled up and circled around again, this time in the direction of the eastern gate. Archer followed suit after his own run, both of them firing their 30mm's at any aircraft that got in their way. The strong airframe of their aircraft caused it to shutter and shake, but they pressed on as they dived down and fired their cannons, raining a deadly fire onto the White Fang and droid forces.
An AAT was blown up, sending the forces near it diving for cover as the two A10's pulled up from their run and flew over the enemy armor. Hans looked down as Nora fired her trusty grenade launcher and sent a few baddies flying into the air. "That hammer girl is crazy." He said in astonishment, coming around for another gun run. The noise of his powerful cannon sent the White Fang soldiers diving for cover while friendly forces took the opportunity to rescue their injured allies. He tuned his radio to the frequency of the base. "Commander, any status of possible Grimm movement? All the negative energy will be drawing the Grimm to the city."
"We haven't picked up any movement aside from the White Fang and those machines. Focus on the current situation, we'll update you as the situation calls for it." Caroline answered quickly.
"Yes ma'am." Hans replied and made another diving pass at the White Fang and Droid armor, firing another salvo of XMAG's at the enemy, destroying more of their forces. 'I hope Archer and Edge are faring as well as me and Mad Dog.' He thought as he pulled up from his run.
Nagase and Davenport were fairing as well as Hans and Cooper. A dual salvo of XMAG's from their A10's neutralized several enemy units on the western approach where Fordo, Boba and the rest of their forces were taking heavy enemy artillery fire from outside the city limits. "We've got enemy artillery firing from outside the city limits! Moving to engage them!" Chopper shouted after completing another attack run.
"Negative Razgriz 3! Our tank support has been wiped out! We've got no armor backing us up!" One of the surviving soldiers shouted over the radio, followed by an explosion that the two pilots could see from their cockpits. "Damn it! We're falling back! They just brought in some spider droids!"
"Roger that ground forces. Nagase, target the enemy ground forces and cover the allied retreat! They won't last long against that kind of firepower!" Chopper exclaimed as another barrage of artillery fire slammed into the buildings while their allies continued to retreat back into the city. As he prepared himself for another attack run, he spotted an enemy S33 getting on Nagase's tail, positioning itself for a missile lock. Even though he knew the Rattler wasn't built for dogfighting, Chopper positioned himself behind the enemy fighter and fired off a burst of cannon fire that shredded the fighter to bits, saving his wingman but exposed himself to another S33 that was about to fire a missile at him.
The missile lock-on alarm echoed through his headset as he jinxed in every possible direction to break the missile lock, when all of a sudden, the enemy aircraft suddenly exploded in a fireball. Chopper looked back and saw that it was the fighters of the Silber Team, Shinn Kazama and additional MSDF fighters had just arrived. "Razgriz 3, this is Silber 1, continued your CAS support for the ground forces, we'll deal with the fighters. Give them hell." Kellerman called over the radio as he pitched his F4 to the left and gave chase after a formation of Vultures.
"Roger that, Silber 1." Chopper said with a sigh of relief before he radioed the commander. "Commander, reinforcements have arrived, but they won't do much unless we can take out that artillery! Requesting orders!"
"We don't have anyone to spare to take out those cannons! Just hold out, I'll think of something!" Caroline shouted with all the honesty in her voice as the massive enemy force continued to advance into the city.
"I've got eyes on more of those advanced spider droids coming in from the west! Edge, form up and follow me in on the next pass!" Chopper shouted, spotting the Spider Droids slowly approaching the secondary position and crushing some of the destroyed Rhino tanks while ignoring the abandoned Timber Wolf tanks. Fire from the few tanks that remained slammed into the advancing forces, but the armor kept on advancing. "Razgriz 2 and 3, making our pass now!" he called out as the two A10's dived from high altitude and unleashed a powerful barrage of bullets and missiles that tore through the advancing tanks and droids. "That should give our guys some breathing room, if only for a few minutes. But that's it for the XMAG's, I've only got my anti-air and gun left."
"Same here, but we can still fight with the weapons we have. We can't let the people of Argus down, we weren't there when Beacon fell, so we have to make up for our inability to protect that city!" Nagase said with determination, during back to the fight.
(End Song)
Even with the MSDF forces assisting them, the droids and White Fang continued to push deeper into the city until they reached the underground shelters. Kara and her master slashed through droids and White Fang soldiers with the occasional usage of Kara's new maiden powers in the form of a fireball that slammed into a few enemies, but without the proper training she couldn't control her new powers, so she had to limit her usage of the power.
From their vantage point up in a building that was hit by enemy fire, Thire, Stone and Rhys rained down blaster fire onto the approaching hostile forces, constantly having to change their location when the enemy targeted their position. A rocket launcher in his hands, Thire took aim and fired a rocket that slammed into a GAT, destroying it and taking out several hostiles in the resulting explosion. A few Atlas soldiers who were still holding their ground were taken out when Super Battle droid's wrist blasters cut them down. "We're losing soldiers fast! Where are the reinforcements!?" the ex-Coruscant Guard Commander shouted into the commlink.
"Communications should be back online! Maybe Ironwood isn't sending any reinforcements! Damn general's a coward! Not like General Yoda!" Rhys shouted from beside his leader as a rocket slammed into the building. "This place won't last much longer! We've got to fall back!" he exclaimed. The other two troopers agreed and quickly bolted from the building just in time before the next rocket brough the building down in a cloud dust and rubble. "That was too close!" Rhys stated bluntly as they ran back towards the secondary defensive line.
From behind a car that was used as cover, March waited until the enemy was nearly right on top of him before he revealed himself, Jek and Thorn. "Okay, bastards. SUCK LASER!" Jek shouted as the three of them unleashed a barrage of blaster fire that temporality forced the enemy back. "Running away won't help you! We'll just shoot you in the ass!" he shouted before he spotted something. "Blast it! We got a kid that didn't make it to the shelters!" he exclaimed.
A young human boy, about five years old was hiding in the alley not far from the shelters and was crying, which was noticed by a few White Fang soldiers. "Looks we got a live one." One of them smirked before he and his buddy ran towards the kid. March saw this and the sight reminded him about the attack on his village years ago. His instincts kicked in and he activated his semblance.
"I won't let it happen to anyone else!" he shouted as he ran as fast as he could, not even noticing that everything around him had come to a stop as he reached the kid, slid across the ground and grabbed the kid before the White Fang soldiers even reached the kid. Thinking his semblance was about to wear off he pumped his legs and ran back to the safety of friendly lines with the kid in his arms and placed them by the entrance to the shelter. When his semblance finally wore off, he looked confused. "What just happened?" he said to himself before he handed the kid off to parents who were grateful for him saving their sons life. "Try not to forget about your kid next time." He said to the parents, before he ran back to the fight.
As he picked up the blaster he dropped when he saw the kid, he thought about what just happened and thought that maybe his semblance had evolved but decided not to dwell on it because the city took priority over his semblance.
On the western approach, four Timber Wolf tanks were abandoned after their operators deserted their vehicles before the battle even began, hoping that if they surrendered the White Fang would spare their lives. They were instead gunned down without a second thought and the tanks were ignored by the White Fang. Hunter noticed this as another volley of artillery fire slammed into the city. "Tech! Tell me you've got the location of that artillery!" Hunter shouted over the roar of artillery fire.
"I've only been able to determine the location of only the artillery hitting us from the western flank!" Tech exclaimed as he joined his squad leader. "They are ten miles away from the city!"
"Captain!" Hunter shouted to Fordo. "Hold the enemy as long as possible! Have some of your men lay a couple of landmines before you have to fall back! That should delay these boys for a bit! We're going after those cannons!"
"Copy that, Sergeant!" Fordo replied and relayed the instructions to his men by hand singles while Hunter gathered his squad and made their way towards the four unmanned tanks.
"You mean I get to drive that!? Awesome!" Wrecker exclaimed, ready to drive one of the tanks. "I learned a bit from some of those army boys, but I never thought I would actually get to drive one of these things! Oh, the damage I could do on those White Fang scumbags!" he said, practically imagining the damage he could do.
"You'll have to wait before you can go shooting! These tanks have an active camo, so we can use those to sneak through one of the openings created by the enemy and get behind those cannons! Unless we take them out, the whole city's going to be leveled within a matter of minutes!" Hunter told the trigger-happy soldier as he powered up one of the tanks. "Follow me to the cannons and then you can go all out, just watch out for any of those Protedeka's like the one from Kuroyuri." Hunter reminded his squad as he moved his tank slowly out of the city, followed by the rest of his squad who like him activated the tanks active camo generator, turning the tanks completely invisible. "This will make our chances of survival a lot easier."
"I hate all this sneaking around. I'd rather be fighting these chrome domes head on rather than speaking past them and their faunus terrorist allies!" Wrecker complained.
"If you fought them head on, you wouldn't last a minute alone. Not even Trigger could take on this army, even with his armor." Crosshair pointed out as he followed close behind the rest of the tanks. "What's the plan when we find the enemy artillery?"
"Oh, I know that! We blow them up!" Wrecker said with laughter.
"He's right, we take out the artillery. Not sure what we'll do about the rest of those cannons. Too bad we don't have those machines that Ray, and Neo mentioned the last time we saw them." Hunter answered as the four cloaked tanks made their way out of the city.
Pushing their way through trees and over bushes, the Bad Batch followed an old road that led to the mountains close to where the artillery was positioned. Their active camo generators gave out for their recharge cycle in the middle of a valley, which gave them away to a dozen AAT's heading towards the same entrance they used to make it out of the city. "Well, that's just our luck. We've been spotted before we could reach the tanks. Alright, Wrecker. Looks like you're about to get your wish. Push through these clanker's and get to those mortar tanks!"
(Tank Rush starts)
"You just made my day, sarge!" Wrecker exclaimed before he fired his tanks main weapon. A blast scored a direct hit on the lead tank, destroying it. "Yeah! That's my first kill with a tank! Trigger's going to be jealous of me!" he said with a smile.
"Engage the enemy!" Hunter told his squad and pulled the triggers of his tanks machine guns, mowing down several droids and White Fang soldiers before they could fire off their weapons. "Keep an eye out for rocket launchers! A direct hit in the right place and we're dead." Hunter reminded his brothers.
"Thanks for the warning, Hunter." Crosshair said with sarcasm as his tank treads rolled through the snow and dirt, maneuvering into position to take a shot at another one of the enemy tanks. "You're dead." He said, hitting the fire button and sent a beam of destruction towards the enemy tank, destroying it with a single shot. He then noticed his active camo generator was back online and this gave him an idea. "Hunter, I'm moving to a sniper position."
"Wait, what? Crosshair! Do not exit your tank! You'll get torn to shreds!" Hunter called out to his brother, who was surprised to see that Crosshair had turned on his tanks camo and was nowhere to be seen. "What are you planning Crosshair?" Hunter demanded.
"The zoom level of the tank's cannon and its stealth tech, I can use the vantage point above us to snipe the enemy armor with my tanks main weapon. Not like my 773 could do any damage against the tanks anyway. What? Did you think I was going to face down enemy armor with a sniper rifle?" Crosshair explained as he maneuvered his hidden tank up a hill and into position, giving him a clear view of the valley. Moving his cannon into position, he lined up his sights on an AAT and fired. The powerful gravity dust cannon turned the enemy tank into scrap metal. "Try and top that, Wrecker." He challenged.
"Oh, it is on!" Wrecker exclaimed with excitement as he charged his tank directly towards another enemy tank, firing his machine guns at it and the enemy infantry defending it. "This one's for Beacon! This one's for Vale! This one's for Trigger! This one's for Galen! This one's for Ruby! This one's for Neo! And this one's for me!" he said with each pull of the trigger, eliminating more enemy units.
"Easy, Wrecker. You're getting too emotional. You'll draw the Grimm in." Tech reminded his brother, firing his own tanks cannon that eliminated another enemy unit when he spotted the eight fleet in planetary orbit. "It appears that we've acquired our reinforcements now. I'm clocking in eight rebel Venators, all of which are under the command of Admiral Halberton and it appears that Captain Solo is among the forces that have come to aid us." Tech reported as two tank lifters flew to the south, each of them carrying a strange vehicle underneath them. "I believe that we might be seeing those vehicles that Trigger spoke of sooner than we think."
"Then let's even the odds for them. Push forward! Don't let them stop you, keep moving!" Hunter shouted, pushing his tank towards the enemy forces, knocking out a few enemy tanks along the way. Wrecker and Tech followed him while Crosshair continued to provide covering fire from his position. The enemy force that was sent to intercept them was soon reduced to scrap as the four tanks continued their way towards the enemy artillery. "Targets are two clicks out. Let's give them a wake-up call, loud." Hunter said to his brothers, bringing their tanks to a stop on a hill directly overlooking the enemy artillery.
"We each take a tank, right Sarge?" Wrecker asked with anticipation.
"Those mortar tanks are heavily armored. Engaging them single-handedly is ill advised. Pair up with another and eliminate them. Our combined firepower will be enough to destroy them." Tech stated. "I'll suggest Crosshair stays up here and provides me with covering fire. Hunter, you and Wrecker engage the enemy in close quarters. They only have a mortar as their weapon and no blasters."
"Sounds good to me. Let's give it to them. Crosshair, get ready to give them hell." Hunter said in agreement and encouragement before he, Tech and Wrecker drove their tanks over the hill and down towards the enemy units while Crosshair cloaked his tank and began to snipe the enemy.
The three tanks charging down the hill opened up with their machine guns, catching the artillery off guard, including the soldiers who were guarding the cannons. Bullets cut down dozens of hostile infantry as the Bad Batch began to circle their targets, taunting them. A beam from Crosshair's tank slammed into the hull of a mortar tank, followed by a concentrated barrage of machine gun fire from Tech, eliminating one of the tanks.
Wrecker and Hunter ran over droids, firing their cannons at another tank and took it down. Small arms fire from some of the surviving infantry was not enough to divert their attention from the primary targets as another volley of gravity dust cannon fire destroyed yet another mortar tank. "We only got two left! Crosshair, Tech, let's finish this up quickly!" Hunter ordered his brothers.
"Understood." Tech confirmed.
"Solid copy." Crosshair replied. Both troopers took aim with their tanks cannons and fired, their rounds slammed into the armor of the mortar tank, the target exploding in a massive fireball. The second tank met the same fate as the last one, eliminating the enemy artillery on the western approach. "Should we head back to the city?"
"We still got plenty of ammo. I say we hit the enemy from behind and give them a nasty blackeye." Hunter suggested. "We've got just enough firepower to take on some enemy walkers, maybe a Protodeka if we're crazy enough. Then again, we do get the most dangerous missions. What do you say, brothers, want to give Adam a real bite in the ass?"
"That would be the most logical plan." Tech agreed.
"I'm down with that." Crosshair said.
"Let's blow something up! Yeah!" Wrecker exclaimed. That was enough for Hunter who then ordered his brothers to follow him towards the rear of the western forces and hit the enemy, hard.
(End Song)
Back in Argus, things were taking a turn for the worse. While the artillery in the west was eliminated, the self-propelled artillery fire from the north and east was still hitting the city hard, and the hostile fighters were quickly gaining the advantage over the outnumbered allied fighters. MSDF forces were unable to arrive by air, so they had to use landing craft to transport their soldiers and vehicles into the city, becoming the new target for White Fang S34's.
The Atlas soldiers guarding the shelters were the first ones to retreat back to the base, but Galen and his allies stood their ground to prevent the White Fang and their droid allies from breaking into the shelters. Blaster fire from the 501st and Coruscant guard troopers mowed down incoming infantry units from behind a barrier of sandbags that was set up not too long ago while Galen, Ruby, Arthur, Weiss, Yang, Blake, Faye and Kara engaged the enemy in close-quarters combat.
His families armor now modified with the features of the Mandalorian armor he recovered from New Argus; Arthur unleashed a stream of fire that forced several hostiles back before he gunned them down with his swords ranged mode. A flick of his left fist sent his final salvo of Whistling Birds flying into several enemies while his flamethrower ran out of fuel. "You're a Faunus, why are you protecting these damn humans!?" A wounded White Fang grunt asked Arthur who unsheathed his lightsaber. "Humans don't deserve to live."
"They deserve to choose for themselves! Not all humans are as evil as your leader would lead you to believe. The head of SDC is a vile human, but his children and extended family are another story." Arthur spat at the wounded grunt, igniting his lightsaber and turning towards the incoming enemy infantry. "One human life is worth ten of me, but you'll never stop at one. I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!" he shouted, charging towards the enemy forces.
His lightsaber and sword cut through enemy after enemy, while weapon fire pinged off his armor. "He's unstoppable!" A droid shouted.
"He's just a damn traitor!" a White Fang soldier snarled at the droid before they were cut down with a slash across the chest.
"What do we do?" another droid asked.
"What do you think? Blast him!" a third droid answered and fired their blaster at Arthur, only for their shot to be sent back at them when Arthur blocked the blast. Lightsaber and family sword in his hands, Arthur swung his blades around as his semblance activated and a blue flame was channeled into his blades. With each enemy he cut down, the fires caused panic and confusion amongst the White Fang forces while the droids continued onward.
A wall of ice appeared directly in front of the hostile forces as Weiss skated towards her boyfriend, her rapier and lightsaber in hand, cutting down the at least a dozen droids and White Fang soldiers. "You're being too reckless, you know that? If you're fighting to protect the innocent, the least you could do is act with a little more caution for your own life." Weiss scolded.
"I will not allow more innocent lives to be lost while a mad man like Adam continues to demand war against the human race when it is the likes of your father and others like him who breed ignorance and stupidity about the Faunus." Arthur told Weiss, who smiled before firing a few rounds from her rapier that nailed an unseen White Fang soldier. "Perhaps this conversation can wait until later. We have a battle to contend with."
"Agreed." Weiss said and the two soon stood back-to-back as more enemy forces pressed their attack.
"Is a battle really the right time to be flirting with your boyfriend?" Yang asked, swinging her own lightsaber at a few Commando droids. Her new weapons blade had its red blade swapped out for a yellow crystal, like her hair, arm and prosthetic arm, her ideal color. "It'd be bad if you two proposed to each other and one you ended up kicking the bucket."
"Like Arthur said, focus on the battle and worry about those two later." Faye said, reaching out with the force and grabbed several thrown grenades which she sent back towards the throwers, exploding in a series of small explosions.
A hostile SE-29 zipped overhead as Kara cut down a few Commando droids with her own blade. Twirling her blade around, she deflected several blaster bolts away from her before cutting down a couple of White Fang soldiers with a bit of remorse. "It's true the White Fang killed my father under Chang's orders, I will not allow myself to hate them all for the actions of a few." She said herself.
A pair of bolas were thrown at her, tripping her up and caused her to fall to the ground as the thrower, a White Fang soldier with an assault rifle approached her. "Time to die human." They said with venom, raising their rifle and prepared to pull the trigger, but a well-timed blaster bolt nailed them right in the head as landing in front of Kara and cutting her free, was Boba Fett.
"None of you are killing the girl." He declared, firing a wrist rocket at a few droids which were reduced to scrap metal. "Come on, kid. We've got to defend this city." Boba reminded her, firing his carbine at an enemy sniper on the roof above them, killing them as they fell over the roof and screamed to their death. Kara smiled and pulled out her assault rifle and followed Boba back to the ongoing battle. Bullets and blaster bolts from the two of them downed numerous hostiles, but the arrival of several NR-N99 droid enforcers arrived forced them to fallback closer to the base, but the shelters were still secured and sealed up tight.
"Covering fire! Give our guys some time to retreat!" Jek shouted as he unloaded an entire pack from his rotary blaster before he started to fall back with the others. Thorn followed him, but March stayed behind to fire off a few rounds from his mortar launcher. "Get out of there!" he shouted to March when he spotted one of the droid enforcers had fired a volley of concussion grenades were fired at March's position as he made a run for it.
"Uh-oh." March murmured before he started to run again, only for the grenades to explode, triggering his semblance and sending him flying backwards right through a brick wall of a nearby building. "WAHOOOO! Wow, what an exit! Right through a brick wall! Talk about exhilarating!" he said in a bit of a dazed state before he was pulled back when Blake wrapped her ribbon around him.
"Try not to get yourself killed, March." Blake scolded, swinging her her lightsaber and sword at the enemy fire. "Adam won't hesitate to kill you, even if you are Faunus. Anyone who isn't on his side is an enemy. You really think your sister would appreciate it if you died?"
"Not in the least." March answered and quickly returned fire with his heavy blaster rifle, cutting down several enemies, but more of them continued to pour in, while a flight of S34's loaded with bombs approached them on a bombing run, dropping their payloads directly in front of them. "Crap!"
"Fallback to the base! Fallback!" Rex shouted, firing a rocket launcher at one of the fighter bombers, hitting it directly in the cockpit where it spun out of control and the remains crashed directly in front of the retreating group, missing them by a few inches. "Move it! Move it!" the 501st captain shouted before he took a hit in the shoulder. "Damn it!"
"Rex!" Ruby shouted and raced back to Rex, grabbing him by the shoulders.
"Forget about me, kid! Fallback!" Rex told Ruby.
"Not a chance! You aren't going to die until you and Ahsoka meet Luke! He needs to meet his father's second in command! Hang on!" Ruby told the 501st captain and used her semblance to transport the two of them back to the last line of defense, directly in front of the base, where Jaune, Cody, Fordo and the others were preparing their last line of defense. "Is this all that's left?"
"The MSDF got hit hard when the White Fang attacked their transports! The missile crawlers are being reloaded, but all the armor is gone! All of the heavy weapons are out of ammo, and we have nothing that can take down tanks!" one of the MSDF soldiers that was able to come ashore shouted, ducking down as machine gun fire from a nearby rooftop forced them to duck down. "We're all that's left!"
"Stand your ground men! Don't open fire until they get within range!" another soldier shouted, just as Galen leapt over the sandbags. "Kid, get back here! It's too dangerous!"
"I'll try and buy you some time. Kix! Treat Rex's wound. Ruby don't follow me. I need to do this alone!" Galen shouted and ran towards the oncoming horde of enemy units. He stopped just a short distance from the enemy horde, his lightsabers ignited and ready for battle. "You want to destroy Argus? You got to get through me first!" he shouted to the White Fang and droid army. One of the incoming tanks aimed its cannon at him and was about to fire when it suddenly exploded. Galen looked up and to his surprise saw that a Y-Wing from the 8th fleet had destroyed the target. "Luke!" he shouted.
(Start Danger Zone)
Having dropped out of hyperspace a few minutes ago and only having just entered the atmosphere seconds earlier, the X-Wings of Rogue Squadron, accompanied by the newer Gold Squadron, Pyrrha, the Galm Team and Mickey moved to engage the enemy fighters with the Millennium Falcon, Blue and Black squadrons targeted the enemy airships. "Rogue Leader to all pilots, R2 was just sent data from R4, all enemy targets are highlighted on your sensors. Protect the city and give the local forces some back up." Luke ordered the pilots.
"Roger that, Commander Skywalker." One of the Blue Squadron pilots replied.
"Biggs, Wedge, you two are with me. Take out the fighters over the city but watch your fire. I don't want the ground forces to think we're hostile reinforcements." Luke told his number 2 and 3 pilots.
"Right with you, boss." Wedge replied.
"Heads up! Droid fighters and local fighters approaching from point ten. Looks like they're heading our way." Biggs called out over the commlink. "Looks like we got a couple of clone fighters in the air, let's just see how good they are."
Luke chuckled before he dived towards an enemy aircraft, a White Fang MG-35 heading right for the base's command tower. Firing his X-Wings four cannons, he downed the fighter with a quick burst before he went after a new group of targets, eight Tri-Fighters. "R2, any of those fighters look familiar to you?"
R2's beeps were translated into basic on one of Luke's instruments confirming he knew about the Tri-Fighters from the war. "I see. Rogue Squadron, watch out for those Tri-Fighters. They carry those discord missiles and they're a menace. Stay on your toes." Luke advised his pilots, banking hard right to get on the droid's right flank and then opened up on them with his guns. The eight fighters were reduced to scrap metal before they could kill anymore allies. "These droids aren't so tough, yet I think I know why a lot of pilots were killed. They're just so many of them." Luke observed.
"It's like the vet's said, the CIS fighters outnumbered the clones and Jedi more than a hundred to one and since they had the corporations that controlled the money and resources, they could build as many droids as they wanted." Han said over the commlink as the Falcon dived down onto one of the 205-class airships, firing a pair of concussion missiles from the modified freighters missile tubes, blowing the airship out of the sky. "I've gotta tell you, these guys don't seem like anything special to me. Chewie's got more guts than they ever will." Chewie growled in agreement over the commlink as the Falcon and its squadrons went after another airship, blowing it out of the sky with a couple of torpedoes. "Yeah, Chewie, I know I'm right."
The Galm Team and Mickey formed an element with War Dog squadron which had just returned to the air, this time piloting the standard Dagger, giving chase after a flight of bombers that were targeting the shelters. "Fox 3!" Cipher called out as a literal wall of missiles streaked towards the bombers and downed quite a few of them, but the ones that were still flying changed their target to one of the 8th fleet ships that was just coming down from orbit. "If those idiots think they can take down a Venator with basic ordinance, they've got another thing coming." Cipher chuckled to himself before he and his wingmen dived after a couple of MG-35's, downing three of them with their guns but the last one was able to avoid being turned into mincemeat, but Cipher continued after his target flying just a hundred feet over the roofs of the buildings and through AA fire. His Dagger was faster than the MG-35 and the second he was in range; he fired his cannons. 20mm shells riddled the White Fang plane with bullets before it caught fire and rolled over in a death spiral, crashing into the street below. "The guys must have a death wish if they plan on starting a war. We've got a lot bigger things to worry about than some Faunus terrorist with superiority complex."
Pyrrha heard Cipher over the commlink and agreed with him as she pushed her Longsword to full afterburner as she gave chase after several droid fighters going for the Enterprise. The Venator's point-defense canons lit up the sky as Pyrrha weaved in and out between the laser fire as she lined herself up for the kill. Her fingers poised over the trigger, she waited until her gunsight was directly on the lead enemy fighter, then fired. A volley of bullets splashed one of the fighters while the rest of them were downed by the ship's cannons. Pulling up from her run, she heard over the commlink that the enemy armor was approaching the last line of defense and would be on them in seconds.
Turning her aircraft away from the ships, she dived towards the ground forces with the members of Gold Squadron that were heading in for a bombing run on the armor coming in from the west. Synchronizing her attack with the bomber pilots, she flew directly past them in the direction of the eastern gate, arming the XSDB's in her weapons bay while her XMAA's in her weapons pods were at the ready. "Pickle!" she called out, hitting the fire button and dropping several bombs onto the White Fang armor, followed by another couple of bombs that took out more ground forces.
Wedge and Biggs teamed up on several White Fang aircraft, chasing them down with their cannons before they could even make a target out of the dropships bringing in ground forces and armor into the city. "Think Trigger and Countess have completed their objective yet? If they can take out those guns, it should give our ground boys an easier time getting into the city." Biggs asked.
"Knowing those two, they're probably just landing now. Don't forget, they're targeting the artillery from the north and east, so that means they've got a lot of hostiles to contend with." Wedge reminded. They both soon noticed Ahsoka's fighter off in the distance with several enemies on her tail. "Luke, a friend of your family looks like they could use some help. Better get over to them right away."
"I'm on it, Wedge. Good eye." Luke praised as he went after the fighters attacking Ahsoka. He closed the gap and fired before the fighters were in range, knocking two of the attackers out of the sky while the last two pulled away. "Commander Skywalker to ETA-2, I've cleared the targets attacking you from behind. You're in the clear." Luke called out as he pulled away and went after the enemy.
(End song)
Back on the ground, the droid artillery in the north was preparing to fire another volley of mortar fire when a pair of missiles slammed into one of tanks, destroying it. The forces guarding the cannons scanned the skies but saw no sign of enemy aircraft thinking it was a stealth aircraft until the ground shook as coming towards them from the direction of Mistral was the Blood Asp. "Trigger to Countess, I'm engaging the enemy ground forces now. What's your status?" Ray asked his sister.
"Same with you, I'm about to give these guys a good ass kicking. One they'll never forget." Neo remarked with a smirk, but Ray couldn't see it over the commlink. "I bet I'll reach Argus before you do."
"I'm not taking that bet; I'm just going to clear a path for our boys. They should be landing the minute I clear out the enemy at the landing zone." Ray answered. "Let's give Adam the shortest war in Remnant's history."
(Gladiator Battles starts)
The massive Mandalorian war machine moved forward, causing the ground to shake as it opened up with its Plasma PPCs sending dark balls of plasma streaking towards a mortar tank, exploding after impact and sending the enemy running for cover. Machine gun fire ripped through the ground forces as the mech moved on from the previous mortar tank to another one as rebel dropships and gunships landed, offloading troops and armor. "Let's get moving people! We need a path to Argus cleared yesterday! Enemy artillery is still in play here, engage hostile armor, I'll deal with the cannons!" he shouted to the disembarking rebel forces who mopped up the remaining enemy units at the landing zone while the mech moved ahead of the column.
The Blood Asp crushed any opposition that got in its way, whether it was infantry or armor. The massive firepower of the war machine was enough of a sight to cause even the Grimm who were drawn towards the battle to keep their distance from its massive arsenal. "Let them try and stop me. They will not get in my way." Ray said, firing his machine guns once more and cutting down dozens of enemy infantry and even knocking out a droid tank. "Countess, what's your status on the eastern front?"
"Eastern artillery moved ahead before I could start shooting them. Guess they must have heard me coming from orbit. The Grimm aren't even making a move on our boys either, it's like their afraid of these mammoths, kind of surprising if you ask me." Neo reported in. "My platoons have landed and I'm clearing a path for them. Though I think… Crap! I got one of those Protodeka's right along the route!" Neo exclaimed.
"I've got eyes on one of those damn things myself." Ray reported as he spotted one of the massive weapons platforms ahead of him. "Moving to engage. Countess, recommend you use the autocannons! Those have greater firepower than any of the Star Adder's weapons!"
"Copy that!" Neo answered, leaving Ray to focus on his own target. The Protodeka hadn't spotted him or his allies yet, so he had only one chance to do enough damage on the machine before it could target him with its arsenal of concussion missiles and turbo lasers. "Hey! You know that Alpha Strike system that Bo had her people install? I think we can use those to take out these monsters with a single shot." Neo called over the commlink.
"Heh, I was thinking the same thing." Ray said with a smirk underneath his helmet and readied his Alpha Strike systems, the controls for the heavy and destructive plasma cannons which could decimate even the toughest of military fortifications. The downside was that when fired, the weapons system overheated and made the mechs vulnerable to enemy attack. The risk was so great that the builders wanted to scrap the special weapon, but Ray wanted to keep it for when they went against the tougher and more armored All Terrain Armored Transports. "Charging Alpha Strike now."
The twin Plasma PPC's and the claw like cannons above the cockpit began to slowly charge, which the Protodeka picked up on its sensors. The massive repulsorlift weapons platform slowly started to turn in the direction of the energy signature, while Ray kept his eyes on the charge of weapon which was slowly climbing past fifty-percent power and making its way into the yellow zone, almost holding steady at sixty-four percent before it continued to climb. "Come on, damn it! Charge already!" he cursed as the massive droid nearly finished its rotation.
"Protodeka on my end is down, but the weapons systems overheated. Ah well, I'll just crush these bastards like bugs! What about you, bro? You've taken down your target yet?" Neo asked playfully over the commlink.
As if by chance, the power level on the Alpha Strike was at one hundred percent and the Protodeka had turned its 'head' towards the armored column that only just got up with him after an ambush. "FIRE!" Ray shouted as four balls of plasma shot straight towards the weapon platform, scoring a direct on the droid, which then exploded like a series of firecrackers clumped together. "Target eliminated. Same thing on my end, weapon systems are overheated. Going to need to cool down for a bit before I can fire anything again." Ray said as he pushed his machine further down the road where more enemy armor was waiting for him and the armored column. "Lucky for us, we've got some allies." He smirked.
On Neo's side, her weapon systems had finally cooled down and the Star Adder's quad pulse lasers opened up on the White Fang and Droid forces, cutting them down without any resistance. A GAT fired its missiles at the Star Adder as it charged towards the massive dark purple mech only to be crushed underfoot as the mech continued carving a path through the east towards Argus. "Damn, this thing's got some kick. Glad I didn't have this when I was working with Roman and Cinder. I don't want to think about the innocent people who'd get killed from this thing's weapons." She said impressed with the sheer firepower her machine had.
A blast from an AAT's main cannon slammed into her mech but it wasn't enough to damage or knock her machine down to the ground. A rebel AT-TE fired its main cannon at a few hostiles ahead of her. "Great shot, soldier! Keep moving! We've got a city to save." She praised as the tide of the ground battle began to turn in favor of the Rebellion and the Pack.
(End song)
As the rebel armor made their way towards the city, five miles out over the ocean, the Schnee and Hitman Teams along with Mobius 1 had just witnessed what Comic described to be 'a piece of junk' take down an enemy airship singlehandedly, followed by a second airship this time with their guns. "Galaxy Eyes to Argus command, incoming aircraft vectoring to your location are friendly. I repeat, incoming aircraft are friendly. So don't go shooting us down with your missile crawlers!" Galaxy Eyes shouted over the radio to the base while Dante kept his eyes focused on the city ahead of them and the raging battle.
"Commander Cordovin to Galaxy Eyes. I didn't expect Atlas to send reinforcements after I my request I made to the General was declined." Caroline said with relief over the radio.
"Yeah, Ironwood didn't order us to your assistance. Neither did the head of the SDC, this intervention… is ours alone. Transmit the locations of all active battle zones and we'll give whatever support we can." Galaxy Eyes requested.
(Battle of Farbanti starts)
"Data link sent. Our troops are holding the final line of defense at the entrance to the base while Rebel and MSDF troops are entering the city from the north, east and west. Looks we got our work cut out for us. Hitman Team, Schnee Team, Mobius 1, engage enemy fighters over the city!" Caroline ordered.
"Not going to argue with those orders." Dante said as he armed his weapons and sped towards the city, followed by the merc teams while their AWACS maintained a safe distance from the battlefield.
"Schnee 1 to all F14 pilots, arm your XLAA's and fire. Let's give them something else to worry about." Hilldenberand ordered. The rest of his squadron and Monarch acknowledged his orders and launched a volley of XLAA's, splashing several enemy aircraft while Comic, Prez and Diplomat moved to engage the remaining enemy airships.
Dante was about to follow them when he spotted a lone Scarab fighter heading towards the so called 'piece of junk' that comic identified earlier. "They probably haven't spotted that fighter yet, better give them a hand." He said and turned his aircraft in the direction of the Scarab. "Mobius 1, Fox 1!" he shouted and hit the fire button. His missile streaked towards the target and collided with the droid fighter, turning it to scrap metal. "No one's downing that beauty of a ship on my watch." He chuckled.
"Glad to see someone's not calling the Falcon junk." Han said over the commlink on Dante's wrist. "So, I'm guessing by the Ribbon insignia on your bird you're that Ribbon fighter I heard about? You know, you've made quite a reputation amongst the Imperial forces back home. You must have given them a run for their money." He praised.
"Let's just say, when I fly, I'm not blinded by bigotry or idealism. I fly so that can protect others and uphold the Gele name my way, better than my uncle has done with the Schnee name." Dante answered, firing a burst from his cannons and riddled an enemy fighter with bullet holes. "Splash 2!"
"Not bad." Han complimented, pitching the Falcon around after a formation of Vultures and enemy S27's. Leia and the other rebel soldier operating the Falcons turrets opened up on the fighters and spent them down in flames. "Talk later, fight now."
The Schnee and Silber Teams formed up wingtip to wingtip as they approached their target, one of the remaining 205-class air battleships which was pounding the Enterprise with weapons fire. "Attack the target from above or below. Watch that crossfire boys!" Kellerman reminded the pilots as the F14's, F4's F5 and F20 streaked towards the airship at top speed before climbing rapidly above the battleship's weapons fire. The battleships guns tracked the jets as they climbed for altitude, killing Silber's 3 and 5 along with Schnee's 2 and four.
Kellerman and Hillenberands frustration at the loss of their squadron mates turned into determination as the remaining aircraft banked one-hundred and eighty degrees before they dived towards the battleship, launching all of their XLAA's in the first pass, followed by a gun run from the Silber Team that destroyed a good portion of the battleships weapons before they once again banked one-hundred and eighty degrees at attacked again, this time from below and with a volley of XMAA's from the Silber Team. "Airships weapons have been knocked out! I'm going in for the kill." Hillenberand shouted over the radio, maneuvering his aircraft for an attack run at the battleships bridge. "Good tone, Fox 2!" the last of his missiles slammed into the bridge of the enemy ship before the massive war machine exploded in a ball of fire and splashed into the ocean. "I just sunk their battleship!" he joked, joining the remains of his squadron as they continued to engage the enemy forces.
Hitman Team had also eliminated an enemy airship which crashed into the wilderness just outside the city as Neo led her column towards the base. "Watch it! Enemy fighters bearing in at vector 392 from the north. They're on a direct heading towards western armor! Hitman Team, you're cleared hot. Eliminate those hostiles before they cause a headache for our friends on the ground." Galaxy Eyes shouted. The four Sicario mercenary pilots turned their aircraft sharply into the direction of the incoming fighters. Comic and Diplomat formed an element, as did Monarch and Prez before they broke off and moved to engage the fighters.
Comic and Diplomat converged on a formation SE-31'equipped with rocket pods, an unusual loadout for the interceptors and more suited for the Accipiter's or older MG-21's. The way the aircraft were flying, it was clear that the pilots of enemy craft were more used to air-to-ground combat instead of air-to-air combat. "Comic, Fox 3!" she called out, firing a volley of XMAA's at the enemy formation who were too focused on attacking the ground forces instead of their attackers. Four of the eight MG-31's were shot down, forcing the remaining four to break off their attack run in an attempt to lose their tails. "You boys aren't getting away that easy." She hissed and banked hard right after two of the aircraft while Diplomat went after the last two.
Pushing her Dagger to full speed, Comic had just about caught up with the enemy interceptors which were much faster than her plane but compared to the pilots of the 31's she was better. Her cannons erupted to life as she sprayed the first aircraft with bullets, causing it to nose over and slam into the ground. The second MG-31 began to panic and made the critical error of flying right into Comic's line of fire for a missile shot that shattered the enemy bird. "Hitman 3! Splash 2! Looks like dinners on you Diplomat." she called out.
"Very funny, Mick." Diplomat chortled; banking hard left to keep his gunsight on one of his targets. Like the Dagger, his MG-29 couldn't match the MG-31 in terms of speed, but Diplomat was nothing if but determined to score another kill. His radar tone screamed in his ears as he got a lock and hit the fire button. His intended target managed to break the missile lock, but their ally wasn't so lucky as the missile slammed into their engines, blowing the plane in half.
The other enemy pilot turned in the direction of Argus and dived down to the deck with Diplomat following him. Their aircrafts speed increased as their altitude plummeted, both pilots waiting to see which of them would be the first to pull up or decrease their speed. The enemy pilot was the first to pull up, right into Diplomats gunsight. "Guns!" the merc pilot shouted as his 30mms riddled the enemy plane with a shower of lead before it rolled over before it slammed into a droid tank. "Diplomat! Splash 3! I just took down a plane and a tank. Try and top that, Mick." He teased.
Monarch rolled his eyes at his wingmen's competition as he dived in from the direction of the sun, riddling a Vulture with bullets as they flew through a formation of fighters. The Vulture fighters took the bait, starting to chase after Monarch who flew directly above the railway line from Mistral, weaving in and out between the cannon fire as they kept their focus on their flightpath. The calm and quiet flight lead of Hitman Team kept his cool as he flew towards a tunnel and right into it. Some of the Vulture's slammed into the wall above the tunnel, but a few of them managed to fly into the tunnel right after Monarch. Exiting the tunnel at top speed, Monarch banked his aircraft to the left and flew over the woods with the droids following him close behind.
Cutting his engines, Monarch allowed the enemy fighters to fly past him before he fired his remaining XLAA's at the fighters. His four missiles turned the four enemies into fireballs that crashed into the snow-covered woods below. He turned his aircraft back into the direction of Argus when gunfire flew past his cockpit from directly ahead. A White Fang S33 was flying directly towards him with it's 30mms firing like the devil even before they were in range. Monarch kept his composure as he came into gun range and pulled the trigger, riddling the enemy plane with a barrage of cannon fire before it caught fire, flew past him and then crashed into the ground behind him.
Prez downed her third Tri-Fighter as she continued her battle against the White Fang's army. He twin cannons roared to life as another Tri-Fighter turned into scrap metal. "That's another one down for me. I'm getting pretty good at this." She said to no one in particular, only for seconds later an enemy fighter managed to get on her tail and started to shoot at her. "Damn! I got a tail!" she cursed, banking her aircraft to avoid getting her ass blown out of sky. Her tail was an S30, like the one Galen flew before it was destroyed, meaning it had the same speed capabilities as her F20, even with two engines. Hitman Four smirked as a missile that was only just fired at her was avoided thanks to her flares as she cut her speed, putting her directly behind the enemy plane and in perfect position for a missile.
"Fox 1!" she called out as her missile left the rail and tracked the enemy plane which reacted too late to avoid the missile and became her fifth kill of the day. As Prez scanned for a new target, she spotted something approaching the city from the water. "Oh shit! Hitman 4 to all craft! We've got a Leviathan approaching the city! I repeat, we've got a Leviathan approaching the city!" she shouted into the radio.
(End song)
Rising from the waters with its four humanoid limbs and tail, four gills on each side of its neck, a collection of dorsal fins protruding from it's back with red webbing between each plate, external ribs like the other Grimm, a dolphin-like head filled with razor sharp teeth and three yellow eyes, the Leviathan let out a massive roar that shattered the windows of buildings in the city and the windows of the command center. "It must have been drawn to us by the negative emotions." Caroline said as she watched the massive creature walk right past the hard-light force field pylons which failed to activate after the damage the pylons received from sabotage that was only recently discovered. "Have you fixed the Colossus?" she demanded from one of the technicians.
"Ma'am we've fixed it, but the thing is forty-years old! Its weapons aren't up to date!" the technician reported.
"I don't care if its weapons are mere peashooters! I will not allow my men to die while I stay here, cowering like some scared child!" Caroline snapped, running towards the cockpit of said machine which was embedded into the side of the island designated A1. Activating the machine, the cockpit closed as Caroline took her seat at the controls, unaware that Grogu had followed her until he made a cooing noise. The machine's arms ripped the rocks concealing it from plain sight, revealing the massive grey and bronze machine, its stocky body, rectangular cockpit, long armored legs, cannon arm and standing nearly as tall as the base itself. "Argus will not fall today monster!" Caroline shouted over the machines speakers as she moved the massive machine towards the Leviathan, which was fast despite its size.
Galen and Ruby watched as the massive Atlas machine charged towards the Grimm, which opened its mouth and exhaled, unleashing a powerful electric blast that ripped through anything that got in its path. "That thing's the size of a Zillo Beast!" Galen exclaimed as dozens of Rebel, White Fang, Droid and MSDF fighters were blown out of the sky.
"The Commander's got that thing beat. Look at the weapons that machine of hers has. It's got a cannon, drill hand and a missile pod. That Grimm won't last three minutes." Ruby said in defense of Caroline's machine, only to be proven wrong when the Colossus fired its missiles at the massive Grimm, only to have no effect. "Ok, maybe I was wrong."
"We need to get over there!" Galen shouted as he reached for his commlink. "I need a Hellcat at my position now!" a Hellcat arrived only seconds later, piloted by none other than Tukson who was more than happy to see Galen. "No time to catch up, get us to that Grimm!" Galen shouted as Ruby jumped into the Hellcat's turret and powered up the guns.
The Leviathans claws swung at the Atlas mech, but Caroline pulled back on her controls to avoid the swipe, taking aim with the machines massive cannon and fired a volley of rounds at the massive Grimm. "Take that, vile creature." She said as he rounds slammed into the Grimm but was completely unfazed. "That's impossible." She muttered in disbelief.
The Leviathan used the opening to swing it's claws at the Colossus, striking it in the arm before it unleashed a lighting blast at the machine, damaging it before it's massive jaws bit right through the cannon arm, leaving it without a ranged weapon. "I will not fall this day, and neither will the city of Argus!" she declared as the Colossus slammed its head against her machine and knocked it down into the water.
The massive creature loomed over the downed machine and peered into the cockpit before its jaws opened wide, ready to bite down on Caroline when Tukson's Hellcat zoomed overhead, distracting the Leviathan long enough for Caroline to abandon the machine with Grogu before the Grimm destroyed the machine.
"Jump!" Galen shouted to Ruby as Tukson flew over the Leviathan again and jumped out of the vehicle, followed by Ruby who had no idea what Galen had planned. Igniting their lightsabers, they stabbed their weapons into the back of creature, causing it to scream in pain and try to swat them away.
"Take out its head. If it can't see us, we can kill it for good!" Caroline shouted from aboard the Hellcat after Tukson picked her and Grogu up before they could be killed. Galen and Ruby ran along the back of the Grimm using the force to maintain their balance on the creature before they reached its head and jumped off, both of them throwing their lightsabers at the Grimm's eyes, blinding it and causing it to scream in pain again.
It wasn't completely blinded, and the Leviathan ripped a piece of the Colossus and threw it towards the two after they landed on one of the bases islands. The massive chunk of metal they dodged barely hit them, but a swing from the creature's claws hit Galen and slammed him into one of the buildings nearby. It was then that Ruby had a flashback of that night at Beacon, the night when Darth Vader almost killed him, the night she first used her special powers. But rather than cry out in anguish, she remembered what Maria had taught her and thought about all those she cared about.
When Galen regained his composure, he watched as Ruby used her silver eyes to turn the massive aquatic Grimm into a large stone statue which was then the target of a few proton torpedoes from Luke, Wedge and Biggs. "What a girl." He said to himself as Ruby fell back on her butt, tired from the use of her powers.
The light from Ruby's eyes was so bright, that it briefly blinded Blake as she cut through another battle droid before she saw Adam. "So, this is your plan? Track me half-way across Anima, gather an army of those who share your beliefs, weapons and vehicles so you could start a war with humanity? When are you going to get it through your head, Adam. I want nothing to do with your life!" Blake shouted as Adam just stood in front of her, his sword in one hand and lightsaber in another.
"I let you go once, Blake. I'm never making that mistake again and this time, I will have the victory I desire! Once we drive the humans from Argus, we'll begin our war with Atlas and their society that has oppressed and mistreated us for far too long! From there, we will march across the world and destroy the rest of humanity. At long last, the Faunus will become the dominate species of Remnant and I will rule as it's king, but every king needs a queen." Adam said, stating his intentions.
"You're delusional. All you believe is answering power with more power. You don't care who gets in your way or who you have to kill. It doesn't matter if their soldiers, huntsman, huntresses or civilians. You see every human as evil and they in turn see every Faunus in the same way. When are you going to realize that your way will never end the cycle of hatred. My parents were right about you, you're more of a monster than the Grimm." Blake spat.
"And what are you going to do? Runaway again like the last time? You're a coward, Blake and you've always been one and you're selfish. You betrayed me and I will make you pay." Adam mocked.
"I'm not running anymore. I know my place in this world and you've already made your choice. At the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall." Blake declared, unsheathing her lightsaber and igniting it.
(Set It Off starts)
"Do you ever get tired of saying sentimental shit like that?" Adam asked with a snarl, dashing in with his sword and grabbed Blake, throwing her some distance away from her friends and allies before she could even react. "Your mother, your father, Ilia, Sienna and everyone else like you are nothing but worthless, weak and pathetic. Those who stand against me will be destroyed." He snarled.
Blake quickly recovered from the throw and brought out her own sword in its pistol mode, firing off a few shots at Adam who ran and deflected the bullets with his sword, firing the hilt at his former partner who destroyed the hilt with her lightsaber. "When will you see that bloodshed will never solve anything!? We had human allies once, Triggers father and mother were friends of the Faunus, but then you killed his father in cold blood! And for what? Because his help to our cause was done? If this is how you treat your allies, then I want nothing to do with you!" Blake roared, using her semblance to create a shadow clone which was struck down by Adam's attack, but rather than run Blake kicked him in the back and sent him hurtling into a discarded tram car.
"That's the Blake I remember. The one who was always ready to fight for her people against the filthy humans. This is the version of you that I loved, I've seen you kill your fellow brothers and sisters. You enjoy it, you're the queen I want." Adam said with a smile.
"When are you going to get it through your head? I only kill in self-defense. But you, Adam. You don't care as long as your enemies are eliminated and anyone who opposes you is destroyed." Blake scoffed, raising her lightsaber as Adam charged her with a roar and swung his blades at her. Blake blocked each of Adam's attacks, using the training she received from her master, Sienna and Zett.
"Is that really all you can say? You were killing in self-defense? You never once killed any humans when you were still with the White Fang, how can you be so calm after spilling blood?" Adam demanded, locking his sword and lightsaber with Blake's own weapons.
"Because unlike you, I'm not a mass-murderer!" Blake snapped, kicking Adam in the gut long enough for Lop to leap in and push Adam back with a strong Force Push. "Lop!?"
"Hey, you really think that I'm going to let you take on the biggest threat to the planet aside from Salem and the Empire, you've got another thing coming, Blake. I'm no Faunus, but we've got to stick together and I'm pretty sure that a certain someone wouldn't like it if you died in the middle of battle, wouldn't he?" the Lepi Jedi said with a mischievous smirk.
Blake's face went red at the mention of Sun, but Adam's face went red with anger. "If I can't have you Blake, then no one will!" he yelled and sprinted towards the two. He swung his lightsaber, cutting through the blade of the Gambol Shroud which he then kicked out of Blake's hands leaving her with only her lightsaber. Blake returned the favor by destroying Adam's own weapon but was surprised when Adam unsheathed a second lightsaber which he used to block an attack from Lop. "I've been waiting for the chance to finally put an end to your life, Blake. You, this Faunus and everyone else you hold dear will die by these blades and at long last, the Faunus…" he began to rant before a series of blaster shots forced him onto the defensive.
The shooter was none other than Rex, who's shoulder was still in a great deal of pain. "Get away from her!" the captain shouted, firing off more shots, but Adam deflected each and every shot, sprinting towards Rex and using the broken blade of his sword, stabbed the clone in the shoulder, causing him to scream in pain.
"I'll start with you first, soldier." He spat and was about to drive his blade into Rex when Blake leapt in and blocked the attack with her lightsaber. "Brave of you, Blake. But I thought you would have learned by now that you can't defeat me."
"I am a slow learner." Blake retorted and kicked Adam back several feet. Adam growled and charged in with a feral cry as Lop lifted several lose pieces of cobblestone with the force, which she then sent hurling towards Adam who slashed through them, leaving him distracted when Wrecker appeared behind him and threw him into one of the buildings so hard, that he crashed right through the wall. "Give it up, Adam. You've lost this battle and your war before it could even begin. Make it easy on yourself and surrender." Blake begged.
"I will never surrender to anyone! Not to you! Not to the humans! Not to the Jedi and not to some top-secret Atlas soldiers!" Adam snarled.
"Blake!" Lop shouted and tossed her lightsaber to Blake who caught the weapon and ignited it just in time to counter several strikes from Adam's sabers. Adam was a tough opponent, but in combat with lightsabers, he still had much to learn when Blake destroyed one of his lightsabers. "Get him, Blake!" Lop shouted as she watched the battle while Rex pulled the sword blade out of his shoulder.
Blake and Adam were almost evenly matched with their skills, but Blake had lightsaber training something that Adam didn't have but it still made him a tough opponent to face, even after he knocked Lop's lightsaber out of Blake's hand. "Face it, Blake. I was always the better fighter. I'll always beat you, Blake. Do you hear me? I'm better than you in every way!" Adam ranted.
"But I've got something you don't. Something that you'll never have. I have friends and family worth fighting for and those I will never turn my back on!" Blake roared, adrenaline pumping through her body as she channeled her anger into one final attack, forcing Adam onto the defensive one final time before she destroyed his lightsaber, prosthetic arm and then wounded him in the shoulder and leg. "It's over Adam, you've lost. Surrender and we'll give you the proper medical treatment." Blake told her former comrade as rebel and clone soldiers surrounded him; their blasters pointed at him should he try anything. Adam's anger built to the point when he unexpectedly and surprisingly unleashed a powerful shockwave that knocked the soldiers back, giving him the opportunity to jump into a White Fang Bullhead, despite his injury and escaped.
(End song)
Blake watched as Adam ran away again and narrowed her eyes at the retreating White Fang and droid forces. "I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Adam." Blake muttered before she doubled over in exhaustion. "That fight took a lot out of me."
"Let's get the wounded some medical attention and check on the civilians." One of the rebel medics said as they started to tend to Rex's wounds. Once his condition was determined, they brought him to a triage station that was recently set up where the other wound soldiers were being treated by military and civilian medical personal.
Caroline, Galen, Ruby and the rest of the Pack were there and saw Blake as she was carried to one of the beds where doctors began to treat her wounds. Caroline looked to Blake and smiled at the girl. "Adam Taurus is a coward and terrorist. He'd rather force others to fight on his terms and on his level. His days are numbered, and he will be arrested for his crimes. Not just for Atlas, but all of Remnant. For now, you get some rest, you earned it." Caroline told Blake.
"You lost a lot of people today. Those who died here today made the ultimate sacrifice, but we will never forget them or the courage they showed today. We will honor their sacrifice for generations to come." Leia said as she walked into the medical tent. With her was C-3PO. "Commander, you should get some rest as well. You look like you were injured yourself."
"I'm fine. It's my men I'm more concerned about." Caroline answered firmly, but she did take a seat.
At the same time, at the airfield. Ahsoka was talking with Luke who was surprised to hear that she was his fathers Padawan during the Clone War. "I never knew my father had a padawan. Then again, I never really knew much about him or even knew he was a Jedi." Luke admitted as R2 worked on his X-Wing.
"Your father was a great man. He was powerful, but what would have surprised you was how kind he was. He cared deeply for his friends and looked out for them until the end. Always leading by example." Ahsoka told Luke.
"He must have meant a lot to you. My father." Luke noted.
"He was like a brother to me. I guess you could say that in a way, you and I are family." Ahsoka said with a smile. "There's someone else you should meet, someone your father trusted fully and who learned a lot from him."
"Who is he?" Luke asked.
"You'll find out." Ahsoka said with a smile and led Luke to the medical tent where the wounded were being treated. They walked a bit until they stopped at Rex's bed. His armor was removed and a bacta patch was placed on the would while his arm was in a cast. "Luke Skywalker, meet CT-7567. Better known by his name as Rex. Captain of the 501st legion and second in command to your father. We fought together from Christophis all the way until the end of the war." Ahsoka introduced.
"So, you're General Skywalkers son? You look a lot like him, only younger and you don't look like the reckless type. It's an honor to meet you, Commander." Rex said.
"The honor's all mine." Luke said, shaking the captain's hand.
They weren't the only ones having a meeting. Pyrrha after many months had finally returned to her home planet and was pleased that her teammates were still alive. When she was told about Salem, the powers of the Maidens, Salem's immortality and her weakness, she was proud of them for not giving up the fight and even more proud of Jaune taking his first steps on the path of a Jedi, which she rewarded him with a kiss. "I've missed you all." She said through teary eyes.
While Luke, Rex, Ahsoka and the now reunited Team JNPR talked about recent events and Luke's father, Galen walked with Caroline. "You've done a great service for the city of Argus, Mr. Marek. I only wish the general could have seen your actions here today, perhaps then he would allow you and your companions entry to Atlas." Caroline told Galen. "I know I told you that the General refused your request, but I'm sure no one will notice a single Bullhead slipping away with a vehicle in its cargo hold, along with it's passengers." She said with a smirk.
"You're actually going to let us into Atlas? Won't you get demoted if they find out you let us through the closed borders?" Galen asked.
"A demotion is nothing to compared to what will happen if your message to the General isn't delivered. After everything you did, how can I refuse your request?" she answered. "You have my utmost thanks for saving the life of my son and that is more than enough for me to grant your request. It is the honorable thing to do. You don't need to apologize for the lose of my men, this was a terrorist attack, and they knew the risks when they joined the military. Equipment can be replaced, but the lives cannot. Whoever the enemy is that is determined to drive a wedge between our kingdoms, they must not be allowed to succeed or else it will mean something much worse."
"I'll be sure to tell the General about what we discovered. Chances are he'll demote you, court-martial you or both." Galen reminded her. "But you're right. Ironwood needs to know what we found and what the enemy is up against. How long before you can get a Bullhead ready for us?" he asked.
"Three days at the most. Once the Captain's recovered. It's a transport Bullhead so you'll have more room for your soldier friends." Caroline answered. "What about your fighter?"
"Have it loaded onto the Enterprise. R4 can pilot the Angel on his own. We have allies in Mantle where he can store the fighter. Perhaps it would be a wise idea to reach out to the MSDF and ask them for assistance." Galen suggested. Caroline agreed and when she went back to the base, we made the arrangements for the Bullhead to be readied for the heroes of Argus.
A few days later, the rebuilding of Argus was underway with civilians and military working together to repair the damaged buildings and roadways while the Bullhead given to Galen and his allies was fueled up and loaded, along with the clearance codes for them to enter Atlas air space. The Marauder and the clones that had chosen to accompany Galen and his friends had already left an hour ago to meet up with Robyn Hill so she could fill them in on the current situation in Atlas. As Galen walked onto the craft, he turned back to Caroline. "Commander Cordovin. Although we got off to a rocky start when we tried to explain our story to you, I wanted to say thank you for hearing us out and allowing us entry into Atlas. Perhaps one day, we'll fight alongside each other again, but until that day, May the Force be with you." Galen said.
"And May the Force be with you as well, Galen Marek." Caroline replied back as the cargo ramp to the Bullhead closed, lifted off and then flew over the ocean towards the northern continent. As the transport flew over the water, March remembered what happened to him during the fight and spoke up.
"Okay, guys. This is probably going to sound crazy, but…" he began.
"With you involved, that's not a surprise anymore." Arthur said.
March looked to his teammate with a deadpan look. "I'm being serious." March said in his defense.
Rose chuckled and then spoke up. "Now That is a surprise."
Arthur laughed at Rose's joke before March spoke up in his defense again. "Will you guys please just listen to me? I think my semblance evolved. During the battle, I noticed a kid was hiding in an alley, so did the White Fang and they were going to kill the kid. I used my old semblance to try and save the kid and when I did, it felt like time seemed to stop. That never happened to me before, as far as I know. But it felt like everything around me slowed down whenever I triggered my semblance, but it never stopped everything completely." March explained. "And it's also how I was sent flying right through a brick wall."
Rose and Arthur looked at each with surprise, did their teammates semblance evolve during the heat of battle? Their questions would have to be answered later as Maria who was flying the airship with Lop called out that they had arrived in Solitas, evidenced by the floating city of Atlas, but the worrisome thought was on the positioning of the Atlas Air Fleet which a now sober Qrow noticed was set up as if they were expecting an attack.
At the same time, Adam the remains of his White Fang army were guided to the Land of Darkness by Maul who brought them before Salem, who had only just finished gifting several newly created Beringel's with the wings of Nevermores. "My lady, the White Fang pledge their undying loyalty to you." Adam said, getting Salem to smile.
(Start Rise, Tv version by Madkid)
(The camera moves fast over the frozen tundra of Solitas before it shots up to the floating city of Atlas and the city of Mantle below it. As fighter jets fly past, the title card is revealed with two lightsaber blades surrounding it.)
Remnant Unleashed
In this empty void, I found the way to light. Can't find my way in this lingering world. Searching fo the answer- the one that I can trust in. I'm just wandering around.
(The title card vanishes as a shot of Ironwood addressing his followers is shown, standing in full military gear. Among them is Galen and his team, Jaune, Nora, Ren, Lop, Faye, Kara and Zett, the students wearing new combat clothing. Behind them in the corner with their helmets off are Rex and his brothers who eye the general with suspicion.)
Yeah, still stuck in the shadow ey, But I never follow that. This pain at last soon will pass. Turn into my own unbeatable strength. This guy or that guy -dead or alive by hiding alone, can't survive. I don't want to lie to myself.
(Behind Ironwood are his Ace Ops and Winter who then dissipate into mist before being replaced by Jacque who has a devious grin on his face, while Whitley and Serra stand behind him looking at each other with worry. The scene then changes to Mantle where Boba, Robyn, Ahsoka, the Fox, Maria, Grogu, Pietro, Penny, Artoria and the Happy Huntresses look up towards Atlas, Robyn crossing her arms before looking at a picture of her, Ray, Neo and Amber.)
Keep on the fight, get right I'll never lose and cry. Keep run up day and night. Time to rewrite. No matter what anyone say's I find my way. Never go away.
(The Grimm charge towards from the tundra as Galen, Ruby, Jaune and their teams ready for their weapons for battle only for Ruby, Jaune and their teammates to vanish into mist while soldiers appear behind Galen and his team aiming their weapons at them. Galen's eyes are shown and then narrow as he ignites his lightsabers.)
Now, nobody can stop me no way. I will make sure not to forget those precious things. Yeah, I'll take a stand, get back all that I've lost. Rise suddenly in this word. (I don't look back yeah.)
(Galen and his team then charge in, now fighting a top a speeding train in the tundra against the Ace Ops while droids attack both groups. Galen slashes a droid and counters an attack from Harriet, Rose dodges Elm's massive hammer, Arthur clashes blades with his cousin, March trades fists with Marrow who looks unsure of his choices as Vine's giant hands try to swat away two human shaped machines flying alongside the train, with Clover trading blows Rex at the front of the train.)
This repetition will repeat 'till the end. And the regret that's still lingering in my head. Time to get it all back, now turn over. Rise suddenly in this world.
(The scene changes once again as Teams RWBY, JNR, Domino Squad, the Bad Batch, Fordo, Alpha, Cody, Waxer, Boil, Kara, Faye and Able fight against the Grimm which then change into Imperial troopers as the shadows of Vader, Palpatine, Barriss, Jacque, Watts, Maul, Salem, Emerald, Mercury and a mysterious robotic figure loom over them. Ruby's face turns to fear before her eyes shine and a silver light engulfs the screen before the title card returns.)
(Song ends)
And volume 6 is officially finished and our heroes are now headed to Atlas. What did you all think of the little teaser/preview I included at the end. The song is the opening to the first season of The Rising of The Shield Hero, a great anime and one I highly recommend you all check out.
Well, Luke finally met Ahsoka and Rex, Pyrrha reunited with her team, albeit briefly since she is still fighting a war. Adam's assault on Argus failed, but he has pledged the White Fang's allegiance to Salem, that's not good for our heroes.
The Blood Asp and Star Adder are basically the same mechs from Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf, which I also used in my Lone Wolf series but it's only those two mechs and they are made by Mandalore. But what are those human-like machines mentioned in the preview? Are they of the Star Wars galaxy or made by certain people on from Remnant?
I'll leave you all to figure that out, but now let me give you all the current and now updated voice cast.
