"She's beautiful." Kiara whispered to her mate. "Isn't she?"

"Yes. She really is." Kovu answered. He looked admirably at his young cub. "What will we name her?" he asked curiously.

"I don't know. How about Takira?" Kiara suggested. Kovu smiled at the name.

"I like it. It's beautiful, just like her." Kovu replied. He lay down next to his mate and the young cub. The rest of the pride (and the rest of the animals on the savannah) were waiting patiently for the introduction to the new princess.

Simba walked slowly into the cave.

"Are you ready, Kiara?" Simba asked his tired daughter.

"I think so." She replied. She picked up Takira in her teeth and carried her to the edge of pride rock, where Rafiki was waiting to introduce Takira to the animals.

"What have you named the princess?" Rafiki asked.

"Takira." Kovu answered. Kiara gave Takira to Rafiki and sat next to Kovu. They watched the usual ceremony take place. Then, it was time to give the ceremonial roar of king and queen, now mother and father. The tiny princess seemed startled by the noise, but stayed contently in Rafiki's arms without struggle.

Before they knew it, the ceremony was over. Takira was named princess, and all was in its place. Or so they thought.
