Chapter Three
A little while later, Tyroth had gathered everyone together for nightly patrol in the Dojo area.
The Dragon stood tall and serious at both the Chicago Knights and the Hamato Clan.
"Alright everyone, we know the drill, we split into teams, and scour the whole city for trouble!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"And we must all look out for each other, and especially keep an eye on our youngest members!"
So, saying he glanced at Pandora and Sonia.
Pandora was fidgeting slightly with excitement as she stroked her chain of Mr Swinger as the ball lay in her lap.
Sonia sat still and looked serious as she glanced at her Uncle Tyroth.
She was dressed in black, a long-sleeved top and matching trousers. She hadn't yet decided on an outfit like Pandora, especially since like the Hybrid she was dealing with smaller dangers and was working on what her official look would be with the help of Tania.
Raphael noticed Tyroth was glancing at his daughter and Sonia, and he nudged Pandora slightly.
"I hope you're listening!" he warned "This is serious stuff."
"Of course, I am dad!" the Hybrid replied.
Tyroth snorted and both Pandora and Raphael looked up at Tyroth.
"As I was going to say!" the Dragon said firmly "Pandora and Sonia will be teamed up with Jack, Sharky, and Devina, as I trust my second in command to keep an eye on the kids, and Devina can use her powers if things get tricky."
"I'm not a kid!" Pandora muttered but Tyroth glared at her giving the indication he had heard her, and Sonia elbowed Pandora's arm telling her to be quiet.
"So…" Tyroth continued "I'm going to allocate teams to scout different areas!"
He then addressed everyone.
"Amber, Mona, Jake, Raphael, your team one, Kate, Michelangelo, Sephie, and Leonardo are team two, Heather, Donatello, Sarah and Percy, you're team three! And of course, Jack, Devina, Sharky, Pandora, and Sonia are team Four!"
"And you boss?" Percy asked.
"I'll be scouring the area from the skies, and I'll have my cell activated, so any trouble I will be there in the blink of an eye!"
"We can always count on you!" Sarah grinned.
Tyroth nodded at everyone.
"Okay now I've allocated teams, I will assign your areas, Team One will cover the East, Team Two the South, Team Three the West, and Team Four the North! Make sure you have your cells charged, and the distress and tracking buttons activated! Any questions?"
He looked at everyone, yet they just sat or stood looking up at him.
"Good!" Tyroth smirked "Now let's move!"
"Finally!" Pandora grinned excitedly as she stood up and began to walk with everyone towards the entrance of the sanctuary to go to the surface.
After bidding farewell to Master Splinter, Old George, April, Casey, Kemeko and the Geckolings, the Knights and the Hamato Clan came to the surface and Tyroth lead the way making sure that no-one saw them, and Jack sniffed the air.
Devina and Jake then used the advantage that they were human or in Devina's case, looked human to check the area then gave a thumbs up.
Pandora shifted from foot to foot as she waited to go with her team, yet Raphael and Monalisa turned her to them so they could talk with her seriously.
"Listen kiddo." Raphael said "As much as we support you and want you to do your best in being a great fighter, you must listen to Jack, Devina and Sharky! As well as look after Sonia? And don't do anything stupid or reckless okay?"
"I won't dad!" Pandora replied.
"We mean it Geisha!" Monalisa added in the same serious tone as her mate "Listen to Jack, Devina and Sharky and keep yourself safe? We'd be devastated if anything happened to you!"
"Yeah! What she said!" Michelangelo agreed and Leonardo and Donatello also nodded and gave Pandora the same look.
"You got friends as well as three other cousins to go home to!" Donatello reminded Pandora as well as gave Sonia the same look and the Chameleon nodded seriously.
"Okay everyone!" Tyroth brought everyone's attention to him, "Let's split here and move to our allocated areas!"
The others agreed and they soon took off in different directions either climbing fire escapes to the rooftops or running out of the dark alleyway.
Jack, Sharky, Devina, Pandora and Sonia stayed on the ground and began to run to the North.
"We'll take to the roofs at the next street!" Jack barked.
"I'll fly on ahead!" Devina announced and she soon disappeared in a puff of smoke and soon a flock of screeching bats appeared.
"Love it when she does that!" Pandora grinned "It's always so cool!"
"Thank goodness she's on our side!" Sonia agreed as they ran alongside Sharky.
Raphael, Amber, Jake and Monalisa had taken to the rooftops, and Jake even though he was used to being carried by Amber when it came to making the jumps across the rooftops, he had decided to try and make a few easy ones himself.
As they ran, Jake managed to clear two jumps.
"I'm impressed Jake!" Monalisa called to her brother "You're making those jumps brilliantly and without the strength of Mutopia's well!"
"I've had a few lessons in jumping long distances!" Jake replied as he ran then cleared another jump.
"How?" Raphael asked curiously.
"You can thank Tyroth, Devina and Heather in part!" Amber called over "When we've done field training, Jake's been learning to leap gaps and if he failed to make the jump, my brother, Devina or Heather would catch him before he hit the ground!"
Monalisa smiled gratefully.
"I know your brother and the other Knights do everything to keep Jake safe!" she said.
"Oh, I got the best teachers and trainers in the world!" Jake replied then he saw another gap and he started to run faster.
"Jake?" Amber asked in concern as she saw this was a rather large gap.
Monalisa also noticed as did Raphael.
"Jake, I don't think you should…." Monalisa began but it was too late as Jake leapt from the ledge and over to the other side of the building.
Amber sprang over to catch up and she went pale as she saw Jake reach for the other side, yet his feet didn't make it!
"NO!" Monalisa cried.
Jake's eyes widened as he didn't make the jump, but he reached out with his hand to grab the ledge and his fingers just caught it!
"Jake!" Monalisa shouted as she and Raphael leapt over to the other building.
Jake could feel his fingernails straining as he held on and swung his other hand to grab the edge then tried to pull himself up.
"Damn!" he thought to himself "Fuck! Why did I do it?" he tried to pull himself up but he soon felt Amber's hands on his wrists and she pulled him onto the roof with ease.
"Shit Jake!" Amber exclaimed "Are you okay? You almost gave us a heart attack!"
"I'm alright." Jake replied as he looked over the edge of the building "If not a little shocked, I think I'll take the Iguana Express from now on!"
Monalisa ran over and touched her brother's hands.
"Damn Jake!" she scolded "I can't lose you too!"
"Sorry sis!" Jake said sheepishly "I think I should accept that there are certain jumps I can't do."
Raphael nodded in agreement.
"You're a strong one Jake!" he said, "But even with all your training, sometimes a human can't be super without help."
Jake sighed but he agreed.
"So true!" he patted Raphael's shoulder "You make a valid point!"
"Come on!" Amber said, "We better keep going, we got a lot of scouting to do!"
"She's right!" Monalisa agreed "We better get going!"
Amber held out her arms and Jake let her pick him up bridal style and she led the way across the rooftops to reach their area of the city.
Meanwhile, Jack, Devina, Sharky, Pandora, and Sonia made it to their area of the city.
"Okay, this is the North area!" Jack said as he looked around and sniffed the air and Devina returned to her normal form and sniffed the air.
Pandora and Sonia also analysed the area, which was a large courtyard with a couple of basketball nets and the walls were covered in colourful graffiti.
Pandora sighed.
"If we weren't looking for trouble, I'd love a game of basketball!" she admitted.
Sonia observed the area, and she couldn't help but agree with her hybrid cousin.
"You got a point kid!" Sharky said, "But we're not here for playing games, we go work to do!"
"Correct!" Jack said, "And I think we might have something!"
"Really?" everyone asked in unison and Devina also tried to pick up what Jack had smelt.
"I agree with our Wolf friend!" she agreed "I too can smell trouble!"
Pandora smirked and patted Mr Swinger on her belt.
"Action at last!" she thought.
Jack licked his lips and continued to sniff.
"What do you smell Sarge?" Sharky asked.
Jack lowered his nose and frowned.
"Drug dealers!" he snarled.
Sharky glowered and gripped his tomahawks, if there was one thing the mutant Shark hated more than anything when it came to crime, it was drugs, being an ex-drug addict and knowing what the poison did to him and he didn't want any innocents ruining their lives because of selfish evil dealers trying to make money.
"Let us at them!" he hissed, his sharp teeth bared, and they gleamed like knives in the street lamps.
Jack nodded and led the way, Devina and Sharky following behind him and the two girls at the back.
"Remember girls!" Devina reminded Sonia and Pandora "You follow our lead okay, whatever Jack, Sharky or I say goes? Alright?"
"Yes m'am!" Sonia and Pandora replied in unison.
Pandora picked up the ball of Mr Swinger and gave it a kiss for luck as she always did when going into a brawl.
"Let's dance!" she hissed to the spiked metal ball.
So it's time for night patrol and the Hamato Clan have joined the Chicago Knights in their mission, and Sonia and a very eager Pandora are joining them too!
Close call for Jake there! As much as he has been training hard as a human Chicago Knight, there are abilities he doesn't have that the Mutopians, the turtles and Monalisa have.
