Heya readers!
Well it's here! the 1st of October and the first day of Halloween Month! Yay! Been excited for it since summer ended!
Also, the reason I haven't updated in a few days was because I went back to work earlier in the week! But I hope this chapter was worth the wait!
Previously, we saw Pandora displaying some disturbing behaviour as she brought down a Drug Dealer during a Drug den skirmish with the Chicago Knights and needless to say Jack was rather shaken by it and saw a lot of what Diablo would do with his victims in Pandora! Gulp!
Note: Some parts in this chapter near the end refer to Diablo the Raven who made his debut in 'Oh Sister Where Art Thou?' and was the lead in 'Falling Inside the Black' and 'United By Fate' and is also the lead character in the recent fic I posted 'My Saviour' go to my page to read them!
Chapter Six
About half an hour later, everyone had met up at the location they agreed to meet and report their patrol.
Raphael, Amber, Monalisa and Jake had spoken of their encounter with some thieves and told them of Jake surprising them all with his fighting moves.
"Wow!" Percy had gasped "Jake Freeman?"
"Well done dude!" Michelangelo cheered patting his human brother-in-law on the shoulder and Kate joined in whilst giving Percy a smirk as if saying "You better watch out for this one next time you tease him!' knowing how the grasshopper made fun of the fact Amber carried Jake around like a baby when jumping large gaps.
Leonardo clapped proudly.
"Sensei will be so pleased!" he praised "Well done Jake!"
Tyroth also nodded and crossed his arms.
"You've made me proud too Jake!" he said in his serious yet very impressed voice. Sephie looked at her husband and almost felt he sounded like Master Splinter in his tone, which he did sometimes when he was impressed with his Knights' progress in their training.
"Well, you guys had more action that us that's for sure!" Sarah quipped.
"Yeah!" Heather agreed "Wish we'd taken your area!"
"Just to see Jake in Action?" Sephie teased the girls.
"Yeah, that and more!" the cheetah and dragonfly nodded with a slight blush.
"Wish we'd seen the action too!" Michelangelo announced, "Maybe I'll team up with Jake and Amber next time?"
"Next time maybe!" Tyroth said then turned to Jack, Sharky, Sonia, Devina and Pandora.
"How was your mission?" he asked though he noticed the demeaner of the three Knights, Squire and Pandora.
"Did something happen?" he asked with a frown, and everyone looked at him, the wolf, vampire, shark, chameleon, and turtle/lizard hybrid.
"Not exactly boss!" Jack said before looking at Pandora who was looking a little sulky and her eyes were narrowed into slits.
Raphael and Monalisa instantly caught on and stepped forward.
"Pandora?" they asked in stern voices.
Pandora looked up at her parents and saw her uncles also look at her with worry as well as frowns.
"Don't you have something to tell them?" Jack asked nudging Pandora forward slightly.
"Tell us what?" Raphael and Monalisa asked in unison.
"We took down drug dealers!" Pandora explained, the sulky slit-eyed look still on her face "We attacked them in their den, there was a clown couple that looked like Joker and Harley Quinn, and at least several other dealers and addicts down there! As well as a couple of young boys!"
"Boys?" Tyroth asked.
"We'll get to that later boss!" Devina spoke up before the dragon could say anything else, then looked at Pandora.
"Tell them what happened afterwards Pandora!" she said and Jack frowned at Pandora prompting her to continue.
"The Joker dealer tried to attack me! But I took him down!" Pandora explained.
"You go girl!" Michelangelo said, clapping his hands "Right on!"
"Totally!" Percy cheered.
"Shut up!" Tyroth growled and Michelangelo and Percy yelped as Donatello whacked his younger brother and Sarah whacked Percy at the same time.
The youngest turtle and Percy rubbed their heads and looked at each other bewildered.
"Carry on!" Tyroth said in that threatening manner to Pandora and the hybrid gulped and Sonia placed her hand on her cousins to offer support.
"I tried to disfigure the freak when he was down!" Pandora said loudly holding up her other hand showing her metal claws.
Jack nodded.
"She was going to give him a Glasgow Smile!" he said.
Sharky nodded yet he did not disagree with Pandora that he deserved it.
"She what?" Raphael asked then looked at Pandora.
"You were going to do more than just knock him down for the police to catch?" Monalisa exclaimed.
"Oh boy!" Michelangelo gulped.
Leonardo sighed and shook his head and Donatello gently tutted.
"Why not?" Pandora asked, "That bastard deserved it!"
"Language!" Sephie warned.
"Whatever!" Pandora shot back "After what he did to those two boys!"
"Oh yes!" Devina spoke up remembering the two young boys in the den and she explained what happened and why they were there and that the police were picking them up after they had arrested and dealt with the dealers and addicts.
"I see!" Tyroth mused as he rubbed his chin in thought then looked at everyone.
"Let's head back to Mutopia, patrol is done for now, we need to get back and rested, but I want a meeting with the following!"
He turned to Jack, Sharky, Devina, Pandora, Monalisa and Raphael.
"You six will meet me in the Dojo after you're cleaned and dressed, and we will have a serious talk!"
He spoke to all of them, but he glanced at Pandora specifically and the hybrid gulped slightly.
A couple of hours later, Pandora had had a wash and was in clean clothes, this time she was wearing some tight red jeans and a loose black shirt with a picture of a tiger on it and her hair was loose.
On her feet she wore red and black sneakers.
After she had been told to get washed by her Uncle Tyroth she felt nervous as she knew she was going to get a grilling from him and her parents for her behaviour, she wasn't sorry for what she was going to do, but she was worried she had upset her family, maybe even disgraced the ways of the Ninja and the Knights.
Walking to the Dojo she felt like one condemned.
"I wonder if this is what naughty schoolkids or high school students think when they're sent to see the principal." She thought.
She was close to reaching the Dojo when she felt someone touch her shoulder.
Pandora almost jumped out of her skin and was ready to attack when she realised it was Sonia!
"Jeez Sonia!" she cried "You scared me! And it's not even the last week of October yet!"
"Sorry!" the Chameleon replied, she was dressed in a plain white shirt and green trousers that were slightly darker than her scales which were currently green and her amber coloured hair was in a long plait.
Pandora wondered if Sephie had done the long braid for her as she knew her Gecko aunt to be good at that.
"What's up?" the Hybrid asked.
"I just wanted to say that I know Uncle Tyroth's gonna give you grief, but I thought I'd say quickly that I felt the same as you and Sharky about that Joker dealer!" Sonia said.
"Really?" Pandora asked and Sonia nodded.
"Yeah!" she said "After what happened in there and those poor kids! He deserves more than just to rot in prison! He should carry a reminder of that day!"
Pandora managed a weak smile.
"Thanks!" she said holding out her fist.
"No problem!" Sonia winked and bumped her fist "I'll see you later!" she winked then ran off down the hallway.
Pandora watched her go then arrived at the Dojo where she saw Tyroth, Jack, Sharky, Devina, and her parents sitting on the crash mats talking.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Pandora stepped to the entrance and made her presence known to which everyone looked up.
"Ah there she is." Raphael said.
"Come in Pandora." Tyroth beckoned the hybrid and Pandora walked over and sat on the mats facing the five adults and bowed respectfully.
"Glad you could join us." Monalisa said in a low voice, and Pandora knew that tone of voice, it was the voice of disapproval and she felt awful.
"Now Pandora." Tyroth said "Do you know why we want to talk to you?"
"I guess." Pandora replied in a small voice.
"Can you tell us why?" Tyroth asked.
"Because…" Pandora said, "Because I was going to cut the Joker Dealer in the drug den."
She looked at Tyroth and he nodded slowly.
"That's right." He said "Now, Jack, Sharky and Devina have told me everything that happened in that den and how you were very strong and fought bravely like the true warrior you are! Even saving Sonia when she turned her back on one of the dealers!"
Pandora felt the corners of her mouth rise as she felt pride, but it soon disappeared as none of the adults before her smiled back.
"But…" Tyroth said "When that Joker Dealer attacked you and you managed to subdue him, you should not have gone any further than just knocking him out and left him for the police to take into custody!"
Jack nodded in agreement.
"Now, deep down, I'm sure he deserved what you were going to do to him, but you must remember, we have rules to follow as Knights in Chicago, just as much as you follow the rules as a Ninja in New York!"
Raphael and Monalisa agreed.
"We follow the way of the ninja Pandora!" Raphael said "And that means fighting with honour! And only killing if we must!"
"The same applies here too!" Tyroth added "We only maim and attack so that the scum we catch can be dealt with by the police!"
"Exactly!" Monalisa agreed "Purple Dragons, petty crime, even the Mafia and other gangsters, we subdue and leave for the cops, and if we kill, well, too bad! But we do not torture or disfigure them when down!"
Pandora opened her mouth to speak but Raphael glared prompting her to stay quiet.
"I know what you're going to say Geisha!" he said, "what about the Foot Ninja and the Venomous Five?"
Pandora's eyes widened but she nodded as that was the very question she had wanted to ask.
"Yes, we have had to kill the Ninja, especially the mutated ninja, those very abominations of Dr Arden!" Monalisa growled.
"Those are an exception!" Tyroth agreed "Too dangerous to be kept alive, but these scumbags we fight in Chicago, they're nothing like what Dr Arden cooks up, thus we beat them and cripple them and leave them with the police, with no damage! At least not much!" he added in a thoughtful tone.
Pandora sighed.
"I guess." She said quietly.
"I will admit that I would have liked to have seen that Joker dude get his comeuppance though!" Sharky said "After what he did to those, he sold drugs to! And those innocent kids!"
"That's all very well Sharky!" Tyroth said "But remember who we are! And what we are not!"
"The Diablo and his Disciples!" Devina spoke to which Monalisa took a breath remembering her younger brother and how he betrayed Mutopia.
Sharky at the same time rubbed his neck as even though it had been years, he had never forgotten how that Raven Traitor had stabbed him with a meth filled syringe.
"Yes, what I saw was no different to what Diablo would have done, if not worse!" Jack agreed.
Pandora chewed her lip awkwardly.
"But I'm not…" she started.
"We're not saying you are!" Raphael instantly cut in "But you must remember who you are, and not let your anger take over!"
He could have laughed at himself as he said that, as he knew only too well how violent and even bloodthirsty, he would get when it came to fighting, and he could tell his daughter had inherited that trait.
Then again Monalisa had been a rather violent type of fighter before she met him, and his brothers and he guessed Pandora had gotten it from her too.
Looking at his wife, he could see her nodding her head.
"So, you see sweetheart?" Monalisa said gently "You must remember the ways of the Ninja, and of the Knights, we're only trying to guide you!"
"I understand mum." Pandora said then looked at all the grown-ups.
"I'm sorry I acted the way I did; I will keep my claws and aggression in check, I'm a Ninja, and a Knight with honour, not a Disciple."
Tyroth nodded his head.
"Glad to hear that!"
Jack, Sharky, and Devina nodded as well as smiled.
"You're a strong kid! And a great warrior!" Jack said in an honest voice.
"Indeed, you are!" Sharky agreed.
"And trained by a wonderful family!" Devina added making Monalisa and Raphael blush.
"And a valuable asset to the Knights when we need you!" Tyroth agreed "But you still got a lot to learn, especially before you play with the big boys!"
Pandora chuckled.
"Come on everyone." Tyroth said "Let's go and relax before we're needed topside again or before Hugh gets in touch!"
And everyone was only too happy to agree!
So Pandora's been given a talking to, and hopefully she'll hold back on her aggression? Well we can only hope!
