Slowly he opened his eyes. How long he had been floating underwater in this place, this ocean from the looks of it, he did not know.

It had been a rough landing, most likely caused by improper jump coordinates. He madenote to himself to give Linden, who was the teams jump drive specialist, a good whack across the head whenever he got back.

Shaking his head, he thought to himself, "Concern yourself with petty revenges later." As it stood now, he was at the bottom of a lake or ocean, or some other large body of water. He wasn't sure which direction lead to the surface, and even his biologically enhanced lungs couldn't hold their breath forever, so putting his faith in his gut instinct, he started swimming towards the direction, he hoped, lead to the surface.

As it usually did, following his gut paid off. After a short time he had reached the surface, and even more fortunate he could see the faint signs of land in the distance. "Not the best start to a mission," he sighed to himself.

"God damnit!" he muttered as he dragged his wet personage out of the water onto the sandy beach. "I liked this hat, Linden your going to catch hell!"

"Well at least my other gear isn't too beat up" he thought to himself as he looked over his equipment. His twin i98 Vengeance handguns had survived the landing all right, as did his Chrono-Steel long sword. Reaching into the pocket of his leather overcoat, he felt around for his communicator. Grabbing it, he flipped it open.

"Omega, do you copy?"

Static.

"Omega, this is Leon, do you copy?"

Silence.

"Lovely…." He had no way to communicate back to HQ if he needed help or if worst came to worst, immediate extraction.

Regardless of his current situation, he still had a job to do. Initial satellite scanning of the planet, which had been dubbed 1400SQR, had revealed massive amounts of energy under the planets surface. It was his mission to find out more information and if or how, it was possible to harvest this energy.

Looking off into the distance he spotted what seemed to be, a large tower rising in the air.

"Well, guess that's a good a place to start looking as any," he said to himself.

After several hours of running through the mountainous desert that was the area, he came to a large cliff that granted him a good view of this structure he was aiming for. As it turned out, it was more than a tower. It appeared to be a large circular structure, maybe 20 miles in diameter, with a dilapidated tower rising out of the center. He also noticed a large protruding rod coming out of the tower; it was at least a mile long and was pointed north. It had the looks of a large cannon.

"A weapon eh?

What exactly is this place? he thought to himself.

Judging from the sounds and commotion coming from the city, he ascertained that it was indeed inhabited.

"Things are starting to look up!"

A crowded city was exactly what he needed. He could find out more information about this place, and if he did stir up trouble, fading into the crowd wouldn't be very difficult. However, something had happened to this city, something terrible. Observation revealed that it was falling apart in many places; large chunks of the city had toppled over. It looked as if a war had been fought here.
