ATTENTION- the reason why Ed isn't going to war is because the military thought he'd be too young!

Ed's fragile body crumpled to the wooden floor beneath him. Tears streaked down his face from the new information.

-Flash Back-

"Ed, do you love me " Ed's lover, Roy questioned with a far off look in his eyes.

"Roy, you know I do" Ed replied a bit taken back by the subject.

Roy took a step closer to the hyperactive chibi and tilted Ed's head upwards to face his.

A sad smile played across Roy's face, but before Ed could ask Roy placed a kiss upon Ed's lips. It only lasted 30 seconds or so, but something was off. Edward could tell.

Once the kiss was broken Ed looked at Roy once more to find his face stained with tears, a smile still gracing his features.

"Roy, what's this all about?" Ed demanded as he embraced his lover.

"Ed, I…I was called off to war"

Silence

"I'm leaving after this goodbye".

"Don't say that" Ed chocked as he tried to hold back tears waiting to spill.

"Never say goodbye, be…because goodbye means forever." Ed sobbed as he clutched Roy.

-End Flashback-

"Ed-Roy spoke as he knelt before the blond alchemist- Ed, We'll see each other again, someday."

"But, what if….what if.." Ed sobbed, not able to say the rest.

"Ed, the day I die will be the day it snows here (1)" Roy spoke gripping Ed's shoulders.

"And even if I do die, I'll still be with you, always" Roy kissed Ed once more, it was a possessive kiss, once they broke apart Ed's lips were swollen, more tears filling his eye's.

The wasn't happening, it's all a joke, a lie, a dream….A nightmare Ed thought.

"Ed, I want you to promise me something" Roy spoke softly as he lifted himself from the ground, preparing to leave.

All Ed could do was nod, not being able to speak from his state of shock.

"If I die, promise me that…that you won't cry, and remember I'll always be with you" With that final farewell Roy left.

-A couple months' later-

Ed began his daily walk to the mailbox a little ways down the road, keys jingling in his left hand.

As Ed opened his mailbox, a white envelope with a blue ribbon fell out. Ed picked it up slowly afraid of its contents.

As he got ready to open the letter something cold hit his hand.

His deep golden eyes looked up towards the sky, it was snowing.

Ed no longer felt the need to open the strange envelope as tears welled up within his eyes.

Edward tosses the letter aside as he once more looked towards the snow filled sky. Tears were threating to spill, but none would fall, not a single one, after all Ed never broke a promise.

Edward knew that Roy would always be with him, and one day they'll meet again.

I don't know if it snows in Ametrish (sp?) but in my story it's rare for it to snow

OKAY so tell me how you liked it, I know it kinda sucked but, ya oh and if I get enough people telling me they like the story then I'll post up the sequel. The sequel is also EdXRoy and might contain Yaoi lemons!

PLESE REVIEW AND BE NICE!
