Artemis POV

The wind was suddenly still. Nothing moved. When before I could feel the cool breeze blowing against my skin, now I could feel nothing at all. As I looked around, I noticed that the arrow had frozen in mid air, defying gravity. Then the burning started. Every arrow and bow the hunters were carrying were enveloped in smoke and flames. Flames danced across the bow, with flickers of green, red and blue. Every single hunter yelped, throwing down their bow to avoid the fire consuming them. Some even cried as their favourite bow was reduced to ashes in front of their own eyes. I could even see fear in a few of them. Now I know what you must be thinking right now. During the burning, where was Percy?

The boy was leaning against a stick (do not ask me HOW he got that!), his hand outstretched as if he was reached for something. I could see sweat on his forehead, and blood dripping down again as some of his cuts opened from his strenuous work. His whole body was trying to stop the time, and seeing as this was his first time truly using his powers, I thought he was doing pretty well. Eyes bloodshot red, he staggered towards the hunters, not caring about the ichor seeping out of him. All of the hunters froze, quite literally, as Perseus neared them. The smell of fear was oozing out of him, and I knew that we were in for a treat. Notice the sarcasm please.

"I have told you again and again, that I am not like the ordinary, cold hearted male," Percy spoke while circling around the hunters the same way a wolf circles it's prey. My hunters were going from the hunter to the hunter. I knew that Percy could strike them down with the blink of an eye, and no one would be able to stop him. Not even me.

"HAVE I NOT!" he screamed at the hunters, the pain and rage evident in his voice. I felt time flickering, resuming and pausing. Percy must not be able to control the time for any longer. My thoughts were correct as time slipped out of his grasp, and the birds continued their chirping. He groaned in pain from the effort put in to stop time, but didn't soften the glare he was giving to my girls.

"You raped our sister," one hunter stuttered out, praying that she wouldn't die. Percy glared at her with menace, but then did something so bizarre, that I questioned his sanity. He was clapping loudly for this girl.

"Well done!" he said while patting her on the back. He clapped, and then turned around so that I could see his face in the evening sun set.

"You seem to have a great influence on them, Artemis," he said, pronouncing my name with venom. "Don't follow Artemis girls. She understands nothing, yet hates all. When I was FALSELY accused of rape, Artemis attempted murder on me." Percy sounded amused now. He clapped again for me, before falling to the ground hard.

"Percy, you're hurt," I said warily, while moving towards him slowly.

"Awww thanks for telling me Ms Obvious. I wonder how I managed to hurt myself?" Reaching out, I tried to pull him up, but he simply slapped my hand away. After many curses and yelling out loud, he managed to get to his feet, panting heavily as he did so. There was an awkward silence between all of us. Perseus was wincing while trying to gain some breath back, and we were all watching him. Clamping a hand to his bloody hip, he limped forward a few steps, before stopping again and panting heavily. At this rate we won't leave until tomorrow morning. Figured out he needed my help.

"Girls go back to your duties," I commanded. "Do not speak to Atlanta, and do not harm Percy. I will escort him back to his tent so that he may recover." The girls nodded, but Percy shook his head.

"Do not bother. I'm sure you have a few more important things than helping me out. How about you check your, 'boys that need to be exterminated' list and shorten it up a bit." Fists clenched, I tried calming down. Percy was ticking me off, and I was soon gonna explode.

"I can spare some time to help you Percy. Besides, your father and Apollo forced me to so unless you want to take it out on them-" It wasn't too long before Perseus interrupted me.

"Oh I will Artemis," he said without even looking at me. Then, in a voice similar to mine, he said, " I don't want a girl to help me!"

This was pointless, I thought as I lay in my bed. Percy had been trying to get to his tent for the last 20 minutes. Emphasis on the word tried. His groans and shrieks of pain broke the silence of the night as he dragged himself a few more inches. Each time I approached him to help, he would stop and concentrate for a few seconds. I could almost feel the concentration he was dedicating, and it wasn't too long before flames blocked me from him. He would watch me until I would go away. Then, smiling, the flames would reduce to nothing and he would continue his trek to the tent.

Thalia had it the worst. Woken up from all the shrieks of pain on the dead night, she had gone out to see the problem. I remember the horrified gasp of shock she gave when she saw Percy pulling him forwards, all by himself, still wounded. My tent door was open a creak, so I looked out to see how Percy would react. Let's just say it was very harsh.

Percy POV

From my left came the sound of a gasp. Ahhh her. I was not in the mood to talk to her. I wasn't really in the mood to talk to anyone, but especially not her. The cause for my pain.

"Percy, oh thank the gods you're alright!" Thalia began, breathing fast. Her fingers fidgeted with each other, and she was looking right at me, yet I was ignoring her. Any girl who tried to stab me in the back is no girl to me. Anyone who does that to the person who called her sister is not human. Just a cold hearted demon.

"Let me help you Percy. You shouldn't've tried to come here by yourself."

"I do not need any assistance from the hunters, Thalia. Especially not you." At least she had the dignity to look down on shame.

"Percy, I didn't know what was happening. My anger had blinded me as a monster took over my consciousness." Well she was right about that, just not how she expected to be.

"You're right Thalia, except the monster has always been there. The monster is you. From now on, don't even speak to me. You are not worthy enough to speak my name. Artemis's betrayal hurt me, but yours hurt me the most. I called you sister. I loved you as a brother loves his family. But you chucked that out of the window when I raped Atlanta, eh?" Tears were streaming down her face like a waterfall. I didn't care. From now on, anyone who betrays me can be treated like the dirt on my boot. That's how I operate now. Defeated and hopeless, Thalia didn't even put up a fight. She just trudged back to her tent, all lonely and sad. Good. She deserves to feel what SHE made me feel.

Blade my blade, centimetre by centimetre I made my way towards my tent. Bones on fire and a trail of blood behind me, I was determined to reach my tent. Only a few meters left. Stubborn me. Should I have asked for Artemis's help? I still doubt her trust. Trusting Artemis is like trusting a crippled dagger. You never know whether it will hurt you, or her. It's loyalties remain unknown, similar to Artemis. This is what I thought as I lay in my blood coated bed. Yeah, I know right. The hunters actually gave me a bed! How kind of them. The night I sleep in will at least be comfortable. If the nightmares don't come.

Thalia POV

What hurt wasn't how he didn't look at me. It wasn't how angry he was. No. It was how he was ashamed to call me his sister. That hurt me more than a hundred stabs in the heart. I felt ashamed. Ashamed for believing some man hating huntress over Percy. Ashamed from stabbing him so many times. Ashamed for the pain I have him both emotionally and mentally. I felt ashamed. There I was, sitting on my bed, watching the clock tick. Every second reminded me of a new pain I had inflicted on Percy. Gods, what were me and Artemis going to do now. My thoughts were interrupted by a scream. A scream that made the air crack and freeze. A scream that wrapped me up in a blanket of fear, forcing me to re see my deepest fears.

The scream of Percy Jackson, followed by a desperate cry of, "No, Artemis, I didn't do it!"
