Chapter 6. Wolf in the Buff.

I had a question or two about the whole Hermione "calling down the rain" I know I should have clarified. Harry was sort of serious joking. He is used to Hermione getting like that and then the next thing he knows it is raining. So, it has become something of an ongoing joke with him. Hogwarts did not teach them how to completely control the weather. : ) Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks again to Sharrie/Dance in the Dark for checking this over for me any mistakes are mine from the final changes.

I still don't own Twilight or Harry Potter though I did ask nicely.

Jacob was getting a headache. The pack was all arguing about what they should do about the disappearing campers. They had been arguing for a while now, all he really wanted to do was go wallow in the misery of his heartache about Bella.

"I'm not crazy and I can prove it. After they disappeared, I went over to where they disappeared from and even though they had disappeared I could still smell them. There was something odd about two of them. I'm not sure what though. They smelled great even especially the younger girl but there was something different about her scent and the young man's." Paul growled.

"Let's go then. Maybe we will even get to see these campers who disappear." Embry stated.

Jacob winced and nearly groaned he was hoping not to change and have the pack instantly know about what happened between him and Bella. Plus, there was the information about the Quileute curse. His family was supposed to be the only ones who know about magic and the curse. Once he transforms there would be no way to keep it a secret from the pack.

Finally, he decided to speak up. "Guys, before we go, there is something I need to tell you."

"You can share it with us as we go Jacob. Nothing is faster than the link between pack members." Sam stated cutting him off before he could start to explain.

Together the pack went outside and transformed. Instantly the pack got the information of how Bella used him and hurt him. Yet strangely there was nothing of what he knew about magic and the way the disappearing campers might just be part of a prophecy that was prophesied over a hundred years ago back when the tribe still had magic.

Instantly the pack started commiserating with Jacob about Bella. "DIS! Oh, man Jacob. That sucks! What a Bitch, and I don't mean that in a good way." Paul thought out to him.

"At least I'm not the only one anymore," Leah thought bitterly.

"Woman like Bella, they aren't worth mourning the loss of Jacob I tell you," Quill thought out to him.

"Sorry man that sucks," This was from Embry.

"Jacob dude just remember you have the pack on your side." This was from Seth. "Right guys?"

"Right." The rest of the pack, minus Leah, agreed.

"Still once things have settled down, I promise to use this to taunt you into submission Jacob." Paul thought.

Jacob growled and turned to Paul with a righteous anger showing in his eyes. "Bring it Paul, I will take you any day of the week."

"Enough, we have the mystery of the disappearing campers to solve. You can settle this later." Sam commanded putting just a touch of the Alpha voice into play.

Once they arrived at the place Jacob along with the rest of the pack could indeed smell the campers. But there was something enthralling about one particular scent. Jacob could smell something completely and absolutely heavenly and started following the scent without really thinking about what might happen next.

Jacob was so lost in the most amazing scent of lavender, rainstorm and a woman, that when someone appeared from nowhere only several feet away, he froze. He realized that the scent he'd been following was from the woman before him. When he looked in her eyes and was lost and found all at the same time. She was his reason for being. She brought him into focus and for the first time he felt he felt he was truly alive. It was as if magic, and gravity were both pulling him to her.

Hermione exited the tent planning to meditate some more on her inner animal. Looking up she froze. There, no more than 10 feet away was a giant russet wolf.

Instantly her wand was in her hand, but she refrained from pointing it at the creature, was it a creature? It was too big to be a natural wolf. So, either it was a magical creature of some kind or an animagus. The question was, was it here for Greyback or was it a coincidence that a giant wolf was watching their camping spot?

"Hello. Has Greyback sent you? Because I will die before I'd ever submit to him. Change back, I want to know who I am talking to." Hermione wasn't sure it was an animagus but the look of shock on the wolves face was enough to make her certain.

"Harry, Andromeda!" She called out concerned that there would probably be more of them out in the trees.

Harry came running and immediately took up a flanking position to watch her back.

"Hermione what is that?" he asked.

"A giant wolf animagus I believe."

"Buggar! But what makes you think it's an animagus?," he asked even as he scanned the tree line for other giant wolves or Deatheaters.

"He was shocked when I asked him to turn back," Hermione explained.

At hearing this the wolf seemed completely embarrassed. "He is definitely human." Harry stated emphatically.

"Change back." Hermione demanded.

The wolf then nodded and turned to leave.

"Hold on where do you think your going?" Hermione stopped the wolf from leaving. "You can't just come to spy on our camp site then expect us to just let you leave. You could apparate away and, as far as we know you could be working for Greyback. "

The wolf turned back around with a wince stepped over to a bush that was between him and the two magicals and turned back into his human form. His naked human form.

"What the… bloody, hell. I wasn't expecting that." Hermione stated in shock. Shaking her head she transfigured some clothes for the handsome young man that appeared before her in the buff.

"Sorry," Hermione and the young man stated simultaneously even as he quickly donned the sweatpants Hermione had transfigured.

Hermione's blush was all encompassing at this point. But it was nothing beside the wolf-man's.

"Sorry," Hermione stated. "I really wasn't expecting you to be naked."

"Sorry about that," he said, "Whenever we transform our clothes are torn up."

"Really, Hermione asked? "How interesting I wonder if it's because…"

"Hermione," Harry interrupted. "Perhaps we should ask him about what he's doing here?"

"Sorry," the young man stated again. "We didn't mean to scare you it's just you're on the borders of our land and we were curious."

"Oh, I see," said Hermione "perhaps you'd like to sit down and have tea while we discuss this? My name is Hermione Granger, the young man behind me is… is Harry. Oh, and if you don't like tea, we can make hot chocolate, coffee, Butterbeer, pumpkin juice, or firewhisky. Any of the usual drinks.

"Thank you," the young man stated he seemed confused about a couple of the drinks being called usual. Shaking off his confusion, he introduced himself as Jacob Black. Once he was dressed he came around and offered his hand to them.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Jacob. Sorry, if we came across as paranoid but it's really not paranoia if someone is out to get you." Hermione laughed to try and avoid getting upset about Greyback again. She could have sworn she heard a growl come from Jacob when she said that though.

"Who is this Greyback?" Jacob growled. "And what does he want with you?"

"You don't know about Fenrir Greyback? What are reporters saying in America?" Harry asked.

"Well to be fair, if their reporters are anything like ours are..." Hermione pointed out.

"That's a good point. We can talk about it while we have a drink. So, what's your poison?" Harry asked Jacob.

Jacob decided against pumpkin juice, butterbeer and Firewhisky. He had no idea if he could stand them. He decided to try some coffee so as not to come across as too juvenile when what he really was thinking he wanted was the hot cocoa.

"Ill get it. Harry watch him and maybe conjure some chairs," Hermione suggested.

Inside the tent Hermione quickly made some coffee and added a touch of Veritaserum to Jacob's cup. Then added two cups of tea for Harry and herself and biscuits.

Jacob took a big drink of the coffee blanched and added copious amounts of sugar before taking some of the cookies and munching on them.

Hermione nodded to Harry.

"So, Jacob. You really don't know who Fenrir Greyback is?" Harry asked.

"No, I've never heard of him before."

"And you are really from the local tribe," Hermione asked?

Jacob smiled at Hermione "Yes."

"Are you going to tell anyone you've seen us or sell that information?"

"Never, the only people we would tell anything too would be the pack or the Tribal Elders. Now, who is this Greyback and what does he want with you?"

"Fenrir Greyback is a werewolf who was on You Know Who's side during the war." Harry explained He had learned his lesson about saying his name when Hermione had been tortured.

"Who and what war," Jacob asked?

Harry and Hermione froze, looked at each other, and then looked back at Jacob. "Tom Riddle, the Dark Lord, Voldemort."

Hermione and Harry quickly looked around, listening.

"What are you doing?" Jacob asked.

"There was a taboo on his name. His followers would use that magic to show up and attack anyone who said his name. We had to make sure no one was coming."

"Ok I'm confused."

"I'm sensing that. Jacob, what have they reported on about the war?" Hermione asked.

"Um, what war," he asked?

"It doesn't make sense," Hermione whispered to Harry, but Jacob could hear her loud and clear. "Even in Seattle everyone in the community seemed to know who we were. How could he not know about the war?"
