He reached his hand out towards the dangerous dragon in the cage. He knew that he could end up losing a limb or worse, but no one deserves to be locked up like a felon.
"Please, just trust me, we're trying to save you." The dragon growled.
"But I've never lied to him before and she's your cousin!"
She frowned guiltily as she stared down at the icy ground. She did wish that she had the chance to tell her, but there was nothing she could do.
He felt worse than ever, he didn't even have the strength to pull himself out of bed. There was a sickly contrast all over his body, he was cold, but didn't dare to wrap a blanket around himself, he would have felt as though he was on fire.
He didn't want him or anyone else to know, but now he could not lift up a leg. He had no other choice, he had to tell him before he became worse.
"We're seriously going to Changewing Island? I can already tell you how that's going to play out."
"Are you kidding me?! My dragon could-"
"Actually, I have a better idea."
"That's not true."
"Yeah, but this island isn't the smallest and there are four others too. Do you really think we can find him?"
"I'm always able to find him."
"Well, yeah, but you trained him. He's your dragon."
'And don't you forget it.'
"You've just met and you're already in sync."
"We sure are." The dragon happily growled, glad to have a new friend.
"Well, isn't this a match made in Valhalla? You two have so much in common. You're both inferior to me and my dragon and you both have a crush on-"
She wasn't expecting this, she thought he trusted her, she thought he suspected their respective brothers, she was wrong. In reality, he was setting a trap for her and her friends the entire time.
"You set this whole thing up."
"He's called the "imposter", some call him the "traitor". I thought you should have it… as a parting gift. Pity, really, I had hoped you'd be a better adversary. And after we got off to such a smashing start."
Being less than fifty feet above the water of the cove made him feel very uneasy. He was completely vulnerable if he put even one claw into water. Just the thought caused his equilibrium to falter, which made his rider hold on to his saddle tighter.
"Guys, can we make this quick? He really doesn't like to be near water. It makes him nervous."
When he didn't hear anything from her, he grabbed onto the blanket and removed it. The person who was under it, was not who he expected to see.
"Welcome, Hiccup and Ladok."
"Hiccup, I have something I need to tell you."
"Something you need to get off your chest?"
"Yes. I- I recognize the man who has the other riders."
"You do? Who is he?"
"The same one who tried to kill me."
