Marauders: Date

From the start, Lily had known the 'secret admirer' was a set-up.
Really, how stupid did James think she was? A letter for her sitting on one of the common room's small tables that he took far too keen an interest in teasing her about and watching her open?

There was no way it could be anything even close to legitimate.

So, the only thing to do would be to go along with it and make sure whatever little prank James and his friends had up their sleeves blew up in their faces, yes?

And that was why Lily was going to Hogsmeade at all, her Gryffindor scarf flapping behind her in the wind as she made her way into The Three Broomsticks.

Now… where could this 'date' be?

It only took a moment, but when she spotted another student glancing around with a suspicion similar to her own, Lily almost reconsidered. Wouldn't it be better to simply track down that James Potter, find the nearest sticky pudding, and dump it over his head?

But no, she was here now and Severus had spotted her, a look coming over his face that told her that he was having similar thoughts of hunting down Potter and giving him a piece of his mind.

Lily simply raised an eyebrow at the look of loathing he shot her and nodded to the nearest table. Hopefully, he'd get the same idea she had – they could put aside their differences for an hour (or hopefully less) to get back at James in a way he would least expect.

Severus nodded, fighting to keep his face a perfect blank as they took their seats at the table and began the difficult task of pretending to get along.

It really wasn't that bad, though, when Lily thought about it. And the incredulous look James was probably wearing wherever he was hiding would be well worth the inconvenience of this entire charade.

Lily Evans and Severus Snape on a date. Who'd have ever thought such a thing could happen…?

Author's Note: Yet another drabble from that LJ challenge. Even shorter than the last one, but they're originally supposed to be 100 words long. So's not too bad, mm?

Uh... characterization. I'm not sure on it. Catheriiiiine, I hope you like it! T.T
