It was a slow day at Wendy's, next to nobody was coming in after the early breakfast rush, and Daniel still had an hour and a half on shift. Most of his coworkers were doing what he was; procrastinate and hope the day ended already. "Did anybody get the bathrooms?" One of the female coworkers asked. "Yeah, Jared just went and got it," Daniel groaned. "So how many of you guys have tried to marry a Pokemon?" another coworker asked. "I…" Daniel titled his head. Would trying to fuck a Pokemon count as beastiality or would that be its own thing? Because a Pokemon could definitely consent depending on the species. "Dan, did you try it?" Daniel shook his head. "James, you and I both know I hardly even know what Pokemon is," he said. James laughed. "That doesn't stop you from trying to sleep with a Gardevoir does it?" Dan's brow wrinkled at the thought. "That would be disgusting," he said. "Somebody already married a Pokemon in Florida," another coworker chimed in. "Of course it was a Florida man," James laughed before looking at the clock. "Fuckin' hell, I wouldn't mind getting yelled at over a pack of sauce if it meant time would fly by faster," James said.

"I just wanna get home, I just got a couple of dogs," Daniel said. He wasn't sure if his coworkers had seen the news a couple days ago. Chances are they had, but he was hoping they hadn't. It would be fun to surprise them. "Wait, you got a couple of puppies?" The same female coworker asked. "Yeah Jess, they're great," Daniel said. "And you didn't take pictures of them to show us?" She asked. Dan started rubbing his chin before realizing he never took pictures of Ninetales or Vulpix. That was something he sees a lot on any social media, somebody gets a dog, and needs to show the world that they have a dog. "I guess… I dunno. My first thought when I got them was how I was going to spoil them," Daniel chuckled. He pulled out his phone and started texting Chris. "Yo, can you take a couple pictures of Vulpix and Ninetales? I wanna see how they're doing."

Chris sat on the opposite end of the couch from where Ninetales and Vulpix were sitting, both Pokemon were asleep when he got home, and Ninetales had tear stains. He couldn't really guess why, or how a fox could cry, but didn't question it. They were likely missing Dan, so they cried themselves to sleep. What he didn't know was that they were Vulpix's tears and Vulpix's alone. The poor fox cried himself to sleep against Ninetales after telling the fox about where he came from. Chris's phone rang and he quickly checked the text that came in, it was from his roommate. "Course he needs me to take a picture," Chris said to himself before taking a picture of Dan's Pokemon.

Not everyone was fortunate enough to grow up with a father, some were even more unlucky and never met either of their parents. Vulpix usually grew up with both parents taking care of them until they were old enough to fend for themselves, which happened often, or Vulpix would stick with their parents for a while; which was always welcomed with wagging tails and loving hugs from the parents. Ninetales could barely even recall if he had a father or not, chances are he hadn't, as he still remembered his mother as clear as day; a pretty Ninetales with a soft, loving voice that almost always brought his mood up. He could probably guess Vulpix didn't have a father either, as Ninetales and Vulpix were heavily hunted for their pelts. So when he realized he could fill that role in for the fox. He was happy to try and do so to the best of his ability; he always wanted a kit, one that would know who he is.

Seven hours ago, Daniel had just left for work, which wasn't heart breaking for Ninetales or Vulpix. They could comprehend that their trainer wouldn't just leave and he would be coming back. When Vulpix and Ninetales started telling each other about where they were before being swallowed up into a flash of light, Ninetales had asked about where Vulpix's mother was. "Just know that I am here for you when you need it," Ninetales said. Vulpix nodded before crawling up closer. "I know I'm definitely no replacement for a mother, but you can come to me for anything and I will help you find an answer," Ninetales said. Vulpix cuddled up and whispered something only the two of them could hear or understand. Both Pokemon fell asleep soon after.

Ninetales' head jumped up when another flash of light hit his eyelids, fully expecting to be swept up into another world. Thankfully, Vulpix was still with him, and then he looked up to Chris. His human's roommate was holding his phone and typing something on it. "Oh, did I wake you up?" Chris knelt down and extended a hand out. "Sorry about that, I was taking a photo of you to keep Dan from pissing his pants over you. I kinda forgot to turn the flash off." Chris scratched the back of his head while Ninetales lowered his head into the human's hand. "Dan's going to be home in an hour, so you won't have to tolerate me for a whole lot longer. Ninetales somehow let out a chirp before laying his head back down over Vulpix. Chris chuckled before going for his bedroom.

"Those aren't dogs," James said, crossing his arms. All of Dan's coworkers circled around once he had gotten the photo from Chris. "Yeah, but they're like dogs. Their face is shaped like a dog's, they have tails… lots of tails" Dan stopped when Jess squealed. "That is adorable," she said. "They aren't dogs, but that is really, really cute," Jess said. "Those are Pokemon," James said. "That's a Ninetales and a Vulpix," he said. Daniel chuckled. "Yeah… They're about as friendly as any dog," Dan looked at the clock and smiled. "Hey, I can get out of here in about half an hour!" Daniel couldn't wait to just go home, make some food for his Pokemon, and mostly just go to sleep. "You just want to go home because you got a couple of Pokemon, you lucky bitch," James said. "And can you blame me?" Dan and James laughed when one of the drive through guys got an order. "Thank fuck! Something to do!" Dan shouted it out like it was a heavenly gift.

"Man, I can't believe just how lost we are," a kid wearing a familiar looking hat. "Of course we're lost. We followed you Ash," his companion said. "This is why we let Brock read the map," his companion added. "Pikachu…" The little yellow rodent face pawed; his trainer could be really dumb at times. "Ash actually read the map well enough, it turns out we just ran into a dead end… or Ash misread somewher," Brock pointed ahead. "Look, we're approaching a city," he said. Ash threw his fist into the air. "Let's go guys!" Ash said. Pikachu clung on for dear life while his trainer ran at full speed towards their new destination. "Let's hope this is SunyShore," Brock sighed as Dawn ran after Ash. "Hey wait for me!" Brock grabbed ahold of his backpack straps and did his best to catch up with his companions.

The three travelers stopped right before a long, huge road. Cars ran down it at alarming speeds, occasional street lamps were the only source of light aside from the full moon in the sky. "If we follow this highway, we'll be in Sunyshore in no time!" Ash wasn't the smartest bulb in the room, but he was no idiot. He knew that running right next to a road was a terrible idea. Dawn and Brock followed their temporary leader down the highway, hours burnt away as their surroundings turned into what almost looked like Twinleaf Town. Brock knew that this was just natural for cities to look this way, for them to fade off into open fields and farmlands as you get away from the heart, but as you get closer, then buildings get more and more dense.

"Haven't you guys noticed how everyone's staring at us?" Dawn asked. Her head turned here and there, Piplup in her arms, taking note of how one of the people they passed had been staring at them. "Yeah, but have you seen the Pokemon they've got with them? I haven't seen any Pokemon like them before," Ash said. "In fact, I don't think they're even in the Pokedex," Ash said as the device drew a blank on a squirrel. "Maybe we aren't in Sunyshore city, but at least we won't be camping again," Brock said. "Yeah, we just got to find a Pokemon Center and we'll be set for the night," Dawn said. Both of her friends nodded as they trudged on towards the center of the city.

"I'm home!" Daniel slipped out of his shoes with a bag of fast food in his hand. To his surprise, neither Ninetales or Vulpix were at the door waiting for him. Neither of them came rushing in to greet him. That was maybe a benefit of them not actually being dogs; they weren't going to destroy the place from being overly hyper from an emotional rush of happiness. Chances are Ninetales and Vulpix were just sleeping somewhere and didn't hear the door, or his voice immediately. It would've just been something to come home to after a long day of work. "Hey Dan," Chris called from inside his bedroom.

The boy walked out into the living room, where Ninetales and Vulpix were, sleeping in the same position they were in the photo. Now that he could see it in person, he had to admit it was bloody adorable. Dan tiptoed and sat right next to the foxes. First, he placed the food on the coffee table, just in case he got smothered by his pets. Ninetales quickly woke up, like he was ready to attack whoever was nearby, but stopped when he saw Daniel. The fox nudged Vulpix and barked a couple times. Suddenly both Pokemon, which seemed very relaxed, piled up on top of their human. Ninetales and Vulpix made sure that Daniel knew that they had missed him, before thinking of something a bit mischievous; the tickling had begun and Daniel stood no chance of escaping their graspe.
