Ninetales hissed as his hide skidded across the sidewalk, despite how much he didn't want to leave Daniel for any reason, he knew fighting back would end up getting him killed. Whether it be from the cop shooting him, or he were to kill the cop and then be out down for murder. The cop said that, at some point, he and Vulpix might get returned to Daniel once whatever testing they do is done. Despite the short amount of time he had spent time with his human, he still hated this whole situation. He hadn't ever heard Daniel cry, not in the way he had when his Pokemon were taken from him.

The fox stopped himself from landing on Vulpix when the both of them were tossed in the back of a van. The smaller fox sat up and stared at the officer as he slammed the doors shut. "Why didn't Daniel try to keep us from being taken?" Vulpix asked. He kept his gaze on the door, why did this have to happen? He was enjoying life again only for it to be ruined. "Vulpix, would you rather have Daniel try to save us and get killed in the process? The officer said we'd be returned to Daniel once they're done testing on us. Since neither of us know how to curse anybody, we'll be back with our trainer in a week," Ninetales said confidently.

In truth, the fox had no idea what would become of them. While he wanted to keep a confident smile on his face, he himself was scared of what could happen. It also didn't help that his back stung from dragged on the ground like a sack. "I… can't you break the door open with telekinesis? Like we did when Daniel went to buy you a notebook?" Vulpix asked. "I would, but think of it like this; we might get out, but we might not get away," Ninetales said. "If we get out, the officer might try and shoot us. But if we manage to get away and get back to Daniel, another officer will be back to take us again. Then we'll be taken from him again and we'll be forced to relive this nightmare all over again…" Ninetales laid down and wrapped his tails around Vulpix.

"As I said, we'll be given back to Daniel soon, we will be fine. Let us be a couple of obedient Pokemon for now and we will be back home before we know it," Ninetales said. He could tell Vulpix wasn't taking the whole situation well at all. "So… we just have to deal with this by not dealing with it?" Vulpix asked. "When… you put it that way, yes. Don't try anything like freezing the nearest human alive, behave, and we'll be fine," the Ninetales said.

"Daniel…" Chris sat down next to his roommate, but didn't try to put an arm around his friend. Their apartment door was still wide open but that didn't matter to either of them. Daniel had been bawling like a baby, which wasn't something Chris had seen in a long time. "Hey man," Chris hugged his buddy. "I… I just don't get why the police thought taking Ninetales from people would be a good idea. They could've taken them out from the wild and…" Chris stopped when Daniel pounded his fist on the coffee table. "Why the hell did my Pokemon have to be taken? They didn't do shit? I didn't do a fucking thing that's warrant them being taken!" Dan screamed.

"If you need something to take your anger out on, take it out on me man. You…" Chris stopped when Daniel had suddenly stopped crying. "Dan?" He poked his friend. "Chris… I'm not going to punch you in the chest because I'm pissed the fuck off. My mood is far, far beyond dead," he pulled away from Chris. "I'm…" Chris stood up. "Dan, you're not going after that cop. You'll get yourself fuckin' killed. You hear what the cop said right? Ninetales and Vulpix'll be given back to you once whatever they do is done," Chris said.

"How do you know they won't just put a fuckin' bullet in either of them? Who's to say their little test doesn't just involve killing one of them and looking through their innards?" Dan sighed. "You still shouldn't go after that cop. What if Ninetales and Vulpix walk back in this apartment a week, a month, or a year from now and find out you got shot and killed?" Chris got up and walked over to the freezer. He opened it and pulled a big tub of ice cream, which was half eaten, and took a spoon out of a drawer. "I… I don't know dude. I just wanna go after them to make sure they're alive and well," Daniel said. Chris handed him the tub of ice cream, which Dan quickly started digging into.

"Just eat a couple scoops of ice cream, that always helps, and if it doesn't, it'll at least calm you down a bit. Then you can think of this logically. I mean…. they're your Pokemon right?" Chris asked. Daniel nodded, but didn't say anything when he got a brain freeze. "Then you should have the right to find out where these guys took your Pokemon and then you should have the right to visit them," Chris said. Dan took the spoon out of his mouth and let out a deep, tired sigh. "You're probably right, get your phone out. We'll try and figure out where my Pokemon are going," Daniel stood up to put the ice cream up.

"I'm already on it bud," Chris grabbed his phone and paused. "Won't we have to call 911, give them Ninetales or Vulpix's ID, and then figure out where they're headed after that?" Chris asked. "I… didn't think that far," Dan dug through the a pile of papers on the kitchen counter and pulled out the adoption forms for Ninetales and Vulpix.

"Yo Riot," one of the scientists walked up to the scientists who was getting ready for his experiment. "Did you put Mentos in a soda and blast it at some girl you have a crush on?" Riot asked. The scientists raised his hands defensively. "Listen, that was scheduled for Saturday…" The two of them laughed as they walked towards Casper and Ruby's containment chameber. "We got orders that you don't gotta get your head ripped off by that Ninetales when you pull on its tails," his colleague said. "I… what? I was told I'd have to today," Riot said.

"We got news that another Ninetales and Vulpix are coming in by midnight dude. So you won't to have your head ripped off by your pet," the other scientist said. "Odd, I didn't think we would get another set of Pokemon so soon… let alone another Ninetales and Vulpix. Hey Micheal, where were these Pokemon from?" Micheal looked over his clipboard and flipped a page. "Uh… Some guy named Daniel Walter had them as pets before they were confiscated this morning," he said. "So we resorted to stealing a man's pets?" Riot sighed. "I think my nephew had a friend named Daniel, but I could be wrong, it's a common name. If there are any experiments involving harming the new Pokemon we're not doing them."

"What about you doing anything for science? You happily got in a testing room with those things," Micheal said. "Casper and Ruby are pretty friendly, yeah I made a gamble by getting in that chamber with them, but I'm not going to kill and dissect some kid's Ninetales because we needed to know if they can curse somebody or not. We have an experiment set up with Casper, so I'm just going to have her curse me. It can't be that bad," Riot said. "I getcha, but we're just working on animals. Sure, they're smart as hell for animals, but they're still just testing animals."

"Animals that are just as smart as us humans. They have the capacity to be even smarter than us too. Just the time I spent with Casper and Ruby told me that they're also capable of feeling complex emotions. Yeah, they have instincts that sometimes override their thoughts and emotions, but they're not just some animals. Casper solved a Rubik's cube with her eyes closed. You know how many people can't even solve one of those with their eyes open?" Riot sighed. "And I'm going to assume that, since they were somebody's pets, the new Pokemon we are getting were loved and cherished by their owner. As soon as we get them, I want somebody to put me in contact with their owner. I wanna let them know that they're free to stop by the lab and visit them," Riot said. "Alright then, good luck with our current Pokemon," Micheal waved and split off from his colleague.

Riot stepped into the testing room, sitting in the middle of it, was none other than Casper. Her head jerked back a bunch, which made it kind of look like she was a rabid animal having his spasms. "Hey Casper, are you doing alright?" Riot stopped a good ways away, just in case his friend was indeed rabid. "Oh Riot, if you are worried about me, don't be," she stood up and barked something. "I was just playing with Ruby, just a parental duty… and a pleasure," Casper said. "Why… is it a pleasure?" Riot asked. "Because I do love playing, which is surprising I know, and having Ruby here is a good excuse to play. Plus it's time I get to spend with my child, which I always cherish," she stood up again.

Both foxes approached their scientist and started happily greeting him. "I thought you had rabies that started to kick in," Riot said. "If that is a disease, then I do not have it. I am not ill and neither is my kit," Casper said. "It's a disease, yeah, but it's transferred through saliva, blood, whatever. It can make most animals with the disease seem nice and friendly, but can immediately be vicious," Riot said. Nnetales chuckled. "I do not feel the desire to rip your head off, so I don't think I am rabid " Ruby jumped up and was immediately caught in her human's arms she squirmed around while Riot tried to get a good hold of her. "So... today I gotta tug on your tails," Riot said. Casper tilted her head and giggled. "Okay, would you like to become a Vulpix for a week? I'd love to have two kits," she said.

"Honestly… yeah, I wouldn't mind that. Though if that happens, I should probably wait until tomorrow," Riot said. "And the reason for that?" Casper asked. "We got new Pokemon coming in, some guy's pets too, and I gotta be a human to receive them," Riot said. "I see," Casper knocked the human down and wrapped her tails around him and her kit. "Then I suppose we will be lounging in here for a while?" Casper asked. Riot flashed a thumb's up before happily enjoying the fox's embrace.
