The sounds of cars, the crowded streets and sidewalks of New York City was slowly fading kn the distance as Cynthia kept getting towards the edge of the Big Apple. By her side was Glaceon, who was pretty much the only Pokemon she could have out, without taking up a lot of space on the sidewalk. It wasn't much of a problem as her Pokemon didn't really mind having to be in their Pokeballs; they often had to during interviews, fan meetups, anything really. So she did her best and choosing a Pokemon that wouldn't stand out that much, which just happened to be the Glaceon at her heels.

The Sinnoh Champion stopped at the sight of three familiar faces. Before her was a kid with a Pikachu on his shoulder, a girl with a Piplup. The third was clearly taller and older than the other two, but couldn't have been nearly as old as she was. For the first time, Cynthia had seen something she could recognize from her world that wasn't her Pokemon. "Hey, it's Cynthia!" The boy said before running to greet her. "Ah, Ash. What are you doing here?" Cynthia stopped when a sudden bouquet of flowers was nearly shoved into her face. "Cynthia it would be a pleasure," Brock suddenly stopped when he felt something jab his stomach. A Crogunk stood in between the woman and its trainer, and dragged said trainer behind Ash and Dawn.

"Hello, Brock," Cynthia giggled at the sight of the Pewter City gym leader being dragged away. "What are you guys doing in New York City?" She asked. "Wait, is that a new city? I thought there were only 14 towns," Dawn said. She lived in Sinnoh all of her life and she didn't even know there was a City called New York City. "No, I believe we aren't even in Sinnoh, let alone out own world anymore. So far it seems to be a lot like our own, but Pokemon are seemingly an oddity amongst the people of it," Cynthia said. Brock quickly recovered upon hearing this. "Wait a second, if we're in another world…"

"Is that why everyone and their Pokemon run from us the moment Pikachu and I get ready to fight?" Ash asked. "That may have to do with that. Most people in this world don't acquaint themselves with Pokemon, but rather creautes called Animals' which come in all shapes and sizes. Some even look like Pokemon, but aren't as smart and can't perform some of the things Pokemon can," Cynthia shrugged. "It's pretty odd, and it's something I'd like to look into. Then hopefully I can explore some of this world's history," Cynthia watched as the theee children in front of her began processing what this all meant. "So… a new world to explore!" Ash pumped his fist into the air and smiled at all the possibilities.

But what would that mean he had left every one of his pokemon behind, Pallet Town, and his mother. Dawn and Brock were having similar thoughts; had they left everything they knew behind without even noticing? Sure, the idea of what this world held enticed the trio, but if they had nowhere to call home then…

"So Ash, can you tell me what you're doing in New York City?" Cynthia asked. She was concerned with the looks on the group's faces, she could guess why, as it seemed like they didn't know what had occured over the last month. And while she herself didn't have anything to leave behind, aside from a few Pokemon that she missed deeply, she knew that Ash and his friends thought differently. "Well… we were chasing a shiny Ninetales through the woods somewhere around here. She got chased off by what we thought were poachers and…" Ash stopped. "You are chasing a truck to wherever you believe these people have gone?" Cynthia asked.

"Yeah, I had Staraptor keep an eye on that truck for us… he comes back every now and then, leading us towards where it went," Ash explained. "And Staraptor has been coming back quicker each time, so we think we're getting close," Brock said. "So, what I'm hearing is, you want to break into potentially somebody else's home to rescue this Ninetales?" Cynthia asked. It sounded like a horrible idea, but if it was for the well being of a Pokemon, who was she to try and not help out. Ash and his friends looked at each other, and then nodded. "Count me in as well then, my Pokemon have been itching for a battle," she said.

Glaceon barked at his trainer's remark, he loved battling almost as much as he loved his trainer. What pokemon didn't like battling? It was a chance to show off, a chance to prove your strength, hell, a chance to bond with your trainer. And he was about to help out while saving somebody, which made things even better. Whatever his trainer was wanting to do, he's going to follow her, as he loved doing. As the now squad walked along, Cynthia looked down at the little fox. "You don't have to walk by my heels you know," she slowed down so the Glaceon was at her side. "It's better if you walk beside me as well; I know I might accidentally kick you," she added.

The little fox scoffed at the idea; whatever a weak, accidental kick could do to him, it didn't matter. Glaceon likely knew his trainer knew this, as both have endured way worse than a minor injury in the past. It was a kind little gesture to him, since it showed him just how much Cynthia cared for him. "And you don't heel anyways, we're equals. We're…" she stopped before realizing her company. It wasn't a good time to scoop her precious little Glaceon and cradle him. Not only would it be embarrassing her Pokemon in front of a bunch if trainers, but it would also ruin the fact that they were going to rescue a Ninetales.

"Hey Staraptor!" Ash waved at his bird Pokemon, who crowed at his trainer, before flying in the direction he came from. "This way!" The trainer said, leading the towards what was likely their target; it looked like a lab.

(so i wanna know if it would be better to add a transition marker or not. if not, then i won't)

Chris was barely awake at the wheel, he had been driving since 12:00 in the morning. "Hey dude, lemme drive. I'm running on four cups off coffee and you look ready to fall asleep," Daniel said. "Dan, I'm fine," Chris's head shot back up once it hit the horn. Dan punched his shoulder lightly. "Pull to the side of the road this instance, I'm happy that I get to visit my own Pokemon, but I also don't want you to die from exhaustion dude," Chris groaned and pulled to the side of the road. Both Chris and Daniel were in New York City; where the latter's Pokemon were supposedly being tested on.

The two began moving, Chris was fast asleep in the back of the car, his big frame barely fit in the car, even while curled up, but he had nothing better to sleep on. Neither teen thought it would be worth it to rent a truck for this, so if one of them needed rest, it would be a bit more comfortable than this. "Last leg baby," Dan said silently as he drove past four people who were running; they looked quite a bit like people from Pokemon, excluding the tall, blond woman who just looked like a model. For all he knew that was a character in the games, and he didn't know due to his lack of experience beyond generation one.

The car stopped outside of a gate, after telling the guard why he was there, Daniel drove into a parking garage and parked it. All the while, he was taking in the sights of it all; the lab was pretty big, almost as big as some colleges. Maybe this meant multiple sciences were conducted, taught, or researched here, or whatever the scientists did to find out new things. "Hey Chris," Daniel nudged his friend, who was barely awake. "Yeah?"

"I'mma leave the AC on for you, if you wanna come in, take the keys and lock the car. "Alright man, just lemme know if you can take Ninetales and Vulpix back home. I wanna know if I get to ride in the back or not," Chris said. "You've got it, I'll be back in a few hours if you don't decide you wanna join me," Daniel said before getting out of the car. He took a step out of the space between his and another car with a stumble, his legs were half asleep and anched. Immediately he was taken aback by somebody standing before him. It was a scientist with a shiny Ninetales and a Vulpix at his heels. He seemed a lot like his friend's uncle, but wouldn't saya thing about that. The Vulpix was its normal, natural coloring, and was borderline adorable. The Ninetales was almost and beautiful as Dan's, except that part might be due to Daniel's bias towards his own Pokemon.

"Hello, Daniel, my name's Riot. Just follow me and I'll show you your Pokemon…" he paused when two other Pokemon stepped out, one was a Ninetales, the other was Vulpix. Both looked clean, well groomed, and well fed. Dan held everything to keep himself from rushing towards the two of them. The group went silent as the three stared each other down.
