The police officer wrote one last thing in his little notepad, Riot had just given his testimony of what had happened earlier in the morning, and Daniel had finished his up with another officer. Casper was sitting by the scientists' heels, having already recovered from being hit in the head by a Pikachu. The fox's kit was entirely unharmed; Ruby couldn't have taken part in the fighting if she wanted to. Ninetales, despite being a bit tired, also recovered pretty quickly as none of the foxes were hurt beyond maybe a couple bruises at best. The officers left, everyone in the lab was present, but now there really much left of a lab to walk back into.

"Alright everyone, while the lab's being… salvaged for anything other than the box of rocks the Pokemon company sent us, it looks like we'll be heading home for a while," Riot announced with a sigh. "And we'll return to continue our studies of Pokemon soon. Not exactly soon, but soon nonetheless," Riot said as the scientists looked at each other. They really didn't have a whole lot to return home with, their belongings were still in the lab, and it was questionable if those were still intact or not.

Chris walked up to where Daniel and his Pokemon were, his roommate was currently just sitting beside Ninetales. The fox was sitting with its head protectively laying on his trainer's head, while Vulpix was laying in Daniel's lap. "So, you know what we're doing? There's not exactly a lab to keep your Pokemon in… and Riot really hasn't dol us what the heck's gonna happen," Chris said. "I dunno, I'm hoping we can just go home with these two puffballs, but Riot said he wanted to mess with evolution stones or something right?" Daniel said.

"That is correct, that is the one thing I can maybe do without a lab," Riot said, settling the box on the ground. "The Pokemon Company made these synthetic rocks, which they want to test out… and we don't know if they work, or what might actually happen," Riot said. The other scientists had already left for the parking garage while the scientist opened the box and pulled out a rock that looked like it had ice crystals in it. "Looks like I'll have to record this with my phone," Riot said as he took out an ancient looking smartphone. "I obviously won't make your Vulpix test this," Riot said.

Vulpix barked and jumped out of Daniel's lap, oh how pretty he could look if he were a Ninetales. On top of the general benefits he could gain if this worked. "Are you sure you want to do this, Vulpix?" Ninetales asked. "Of course I am! I bet you always wanted to evolve as a Vulpix. I bet you were pretty upset to find out that you can't evolve through natural means. And this might be my chance!" Vulpix said. "But that is a synthetic stone, it could go horribly wrong," Ninetales said. "And I'm willing to take a risk. You took one by approaching Daniel, and guess where that took you," Vulpix gestured to how Ninetales was leaning on Daniel's head.

"Well, Vulpix wants to do it, who am I to stop him?" Daniel asked. The fox sat down as Riot walked forward with the Ice Stone. "Lemme take a photo first, I wanna know what my Vulpix looked like years from now," he requested. "Of course," Riot backed off for a second as Daniel quickly got his phone out, and carefully snapped a few photos. He got out from Ninetales' graspe and patted Vulpix. "Alright buddy, go ahead and become a Ninetales," the young man said. Vulpix barked as Riot bounded forward and held the stone out before the little fox. Daniel took a few steps back and Vulpix touched the stone and started glowing.

Riot backed off while recording the whole thing, the light completely enveloped the fox in a sphere, cracks formed and pieces jolted out of the sphere. The ball of light exploded, none of the light that struck anybody standing nearby, actually dealt damage, and was barely even visible now with it being in broad daylight. "Holy…" Daniel was at a loss for words as his eyes laid upon what was essentially a whole new creature. Ninetales, Casper, and Ruby just stared as what was once a Vulpix looked down at its thinner, longer legs. "I… think that's a success," Riot said as he put his phone away and stepped forward.

Vulpix, well, now Ninetales blinked a couple times. His legs were no longer stubby, and the ground was further away from his head than it was before. "Vulpix?" The fox's head jolted up when Daniel was suddenly very close to him. "How are you feeling buddy?" The young man held out his hand while the Alolan Ninetales cooed. He never felt better in his life, all this waiting in a white room, waiting for Daniel was well worth it. The fox laid his chin on the offered hand, and walked forward. He felt three extra tails wag on his rear as he greeted his trainer

it felt kind of strange now, as a Vulpix, he could barely reach Daniel's knees while the man was crouching. Now as a Ninetales, he could see eye to eye with a kneeling Daniel, and it wasn't too hard. Obviously with his body bent forward, he couldn't reach Daniel's height without being on his hind legs, but now he was a lot bigger, and a lot less vulnerable if he was caught without Ninetales or Daniel around.

"I believe you are enjoying being a Ninetales," Ninetales said. "Yeah… it feels so weird now. Like… I can feel just how much new energy is building up inside of me," the fox got interrupted when he found himself being dragged down onto Daniell's lap. "I think somebody has some serious competition for the softest pelt," Daniel teased Ninetales, and patted his Alolan one on the head a few extra times. "I…" he paused as started thinking about what he would have to call his Pokemon now. Both were technically Ninetales, so calling them that would be… odd. "I'm gonna have to call you Chili," Daniel said, pointing at the Alolan Ninetales. "And you," Daniel pointed at Ninetales. "I guess Sol would work. I just need something to call each of you so this whole two Ninetales thing doesn't get confusing," he said.

Sol barked at the thought of now having a name, sure, maybe it only came so he and Chili wouldn't get confused, but it was nice. Even if it really didn't matter at first. "So, I guess I'm named after a bowl of that weird red stuff Daniel brings home from work," Chili rolled his eyes. "That you ate while Daniel was showering?" Sol said in a mock scolding voice. Chili was about to respond, but a handcuffed under his jaw and damn near made him sleep. "You'll all have to stay here for a week still. Just… gotta make sure that the Ice Stone doesn't have any side effects," Riot said.

"So, that means I gotta spend a fortune on a hotel room?" Chris asked. "No no, I'm paying for our hotel rooms. You're my guests, even if my lab is kind of…" he gestured towards the ruined laboratory. "So I can finally stretch my legs?" Casper asked as she stretched in a very similar manner to a dog. Even if it looked a lot smoother than a dog's stretch, which made sense as a Ninetales' whole thing was being graceful. "Yes, you guys can stretch your legs. Just don't run on the streets. You already got a Pikachu lobbed at your head," Riot said. "Hey now, that Pikachu caught me off guard. If it hadn't, it would have been knocked out in an instant."

Chili stood up on his hindlegs to look at himself in the mirror in the hotel he, Sol, Daniel, and Chris were staying. Now he could finally get a good look at what he looked like now. Instead of the small, rounded head of a Vulpix, with big old ears, eyes, and a small puff of fur in between said ears. Now, his head was pretty sharp, but still relatively soft looking compared to Sol, which likely had to do with them being two different variants of the same species of Pokemon. The puff of fur between his ears was now a long, wavy puff of fur that extended down and rested on the back of his neck. His once massive eyes were now significantly smaller and so were his ears, which made him have a less innocent looking face. Maybe he wasn't as cute as the Vulpix he once was, but he looked majestic. There was even a little man, not as glorious as any male Pyroar, but it helped out with his aesthetic

Standing beside him was Daniel, who was brushing his teeth while the Ninetales was looking over himself in the mirror.. The young man swapped over to his offhand so he could scratch behind Chili's ears. "Youth are Realthy perty," Daniel said as he took the tooth brush out of his mouth and spat out the toothpaste. He then quickly rinsed his mouth out and washed his face. "You're really pretty, Chili. Couldn't really properly say that with a toothbrush in my mouth," he said. "Nine!' the fox barked as he didn't really have any way to communicate with his trainer. He didn't have very good control over his telekinesis yet, so there wasn't any way for him to suddenly be using telepathy. And he didn't have a notebook to write in, if he knew how to write with his mouth. "C'mon, today might've sucked, but hey! You evolved, and I get to cuddle with an extra fluffy Ninetales!"

With that, Daniel and his Pokemon piled up on the bed, the T.V was on while Chris was laying with his head on his arms. "I want a Pokemon," Chris said with a hint of jealousy. "It's not fair, you get to have two Pokemon to cuddle up with at night," he added. "You can probably adopt that Charizard that had a crush on you," Daniel said. "Hell nah, that thing'll crush me!" Daniel let out a hardy laugh. "Don't worry, we might find a Shinx or something on the way home," Daniel said. "I hope so, you know how cool it would be to sleep with a Luxray?" Chris immediately fell asleep afterward. He barely even got ten minutes of sleep over the last few days.

"Goodnight guys."
